FIELD DATA를 이용한 진동시험 규격화 방안 (Packaging Vibration Specification Based on Field Data)

  • We used recording device(EDR-3) to monitor the packages and the vehicle during shipment. Provided we did this enough times, we began to gain statistically valid information which could be used to describe the particular channel of distribution. The event was obviously changed from trip to trip, but in general we could have an idea of what to expect. Considerable amount of time and money were invested to record field data. Although not ideal, it was the best suited approach to gain information regarding a specific distribution channel. Based on the recorded field data, we could make our own packaging vibration testing specification through MIL-STD-810D(Guidance for development of laboratory dynamic test specification). This test specification was proved several times through field tests. As a result, we gained confidence in this revised vibration specification and come to know the development procedures of a laboratory dynamic test specification.

Assessment on Natural Frequencies of Structures using Field Measurement and FE Analysis

  • Wind-induced responses of a structure are often evaluated through dynamic analysis, where measured wind forces obtained from a wind-tunnel test and dynamic properties obtained from a FE (Finite Element) model are utilized. However, the FE model generally shows considerable discrepancies in the estimation of natural frequencies compared to field measurements due to some assumptions and simplifications. In this paper, a calibration method that can improve the estimation of natural frequencies in the FE model is proposed, and specific cases are studied for its validity with comparison to the field measurement results.

  • A dynamic finite element analysis of a rig test model for truck chassis systems is conducted to establish an appropriate model designed to predict the fatigue life. A reference Belgian road input, which has been obtained from a field test, is imposed on the finite element model in the modal finite element analysis, and the resulting strain history is employed for the prediction of the fatigue life. This is compared with the prediction based upon the strain history measured in the field test. The two agree with each other within the limitation of the field data and the input data to the model. The high frequency responses over 50 Hz are confirmed to be negligible as far as their effect on the fatigue life is concerned.

Field distribution factors and dynamic load allowance for simply supported double-tee girder bridges

  • This paper discusses the field testing of two single-span double-tee girder (DTG) bridges in South Dakota to determine live load distribution factors (LLDFs) and the dynamic load allowance (IM). One bridge had seven girders and another had eight girders. The longitudinal girder-to-girder joints of both bridges were deteriorated in a way that water could penetrate and the joint steel members were corroded. A truck traveled across each of the two bridges at five transverse paths. The paths were tested twice with a crawl speed load test and twice with a dynamic load. The LLDFs and IM were determined using strain data measured during the field tests. These results were compared with those determined according to the AASHTO Standard and the AASHTO LRFD specifications. Nearly all the measured LLDFs were below the AASHTO LRFD design LLDFs, with the exception of two instances: 1) An exterior DTG on the seven-girder bridge and 2) An interior DTG on the eight-girder bridge. The LLDFs specified in the AASHTO Standard were conservative compared with the measured LLDFs. It was also found that both AASHTO LRFD and AASHTO Standard specifications were conservative when estimating IM, compared to the field test results for both bridges.

자갈궤도의 상태평가를 위한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Condition Evaluation for Railway Ballasted Track)

  • The degradation and damage of the components for ballasted track could be caused a serious problem for railway safety. Therefore, the integrity evaluation of ballasted track condition is important to ensure and predict that the track safety and track maintenance. Various track components such as rail pad, ballast, sleeper, and rail that are widely used in Republic of Korea and represent a range of physical properties have been selected for this research. In this study, the experimental modal analysis was performed by the non-destructive testing. Modal test results were obtained from the field test and used to assess the condition of the track components. From the field test, the system of ballasted track was found to be simplified as a two-degree-of-freedom(2DOF) dynamic system. The condition of track component was found to directly affect the dynamic response of ballasted tracks. As the results, the dynamic properties of the track component was depend on the track condition and was distributed more roughly and over a wider range than its initial design values. Further, the methodology presented in this study is possible to determine experimentally the fundamental track parameters which are required in the numerical analysis, and also are useful for the safety assessment of track condition.

다이어프램형 밸브의 유량특성과 동적성능에 관한 연구 (A Study on Flow Rate Characteristic and Dynamic Performance on Diaphragm Solenoid Valve)

  • Solenoid valve has used in various industrial field extensively. A solenoid valve has different size, shape and method of operation accordantly to industrial field. Many researchers study on kinds of solenoid valve such as flow rate, dynamic, magnetic field, valve shape and operating method. But the flow rate characteristic and dynamic response time performance on the diaphragm valve are not studied. This paper describes the flow rate characteristic and dynamic response time performance on the diaphragm valve. At first, the diaphragm valve is simulated in AMESim simulation tool. AMESim model found that an effect of valve performance depends on parameter. The parameter is the diaphragm orifice area. And the performance test bench confirms the effect in this parameter. Finally, it finds out the flow rate characteristic and dynamic response time performance on the diaphragm valve.

PHC 매입말뚝의 동재하시험과 정재하시험의 지지력 비교·분석 연구 (A Comparative Study on the Bearing Capacity of Dynamic Load Test and Static Load Test of PHC Bored Pile)

  • 미국 사례의 경우 항타말뚝과 현장타설말뚝은 동재하시험과 정재하시험 지지력 상관관계 분석에서 좋은 상관관계를 나타내었다. 하지만, 국내에서는 해외에서 많이 사용하지 않는 매입말뚝으로 주로 시공을 하고 있으며, 매입말뚝의 동재하시험 신뢰성에 대해 의문이 많아 동재하시험의 신뢰도를 확인하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 LH 현장(천안, 인천, 의정부)에서 PHC 매입말뚝에 대하여 재하시험을 실시하였으며, 동재하시험(EOID 7회, Restrike 7회)과 정재하시험(7회) 지지력을 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 재항타동재하지지력 및 정재하지지력 평균 값 비교 시 정재하지지력 평균 값이 약 27% 높게 나타났다(신뢰도 : 0.73, 변동계수 : 0.3). 재항타지지력(Davisson 판정 값) 및 정재하지지력(Davisson 판정 값) 평균 값 비교 시 정재하지지력(Davisson 판정 값) 평균 값이 약 27% 높게 나타났다(신뢰도 : 0.73, 변동계수 : 0.2). 동재하시험과 정재하시험의 차이를 줄이고자 본 연구에서는 수정동재하지지력(EOID의 극한선단지지력+Restrike의 극한주면마찰력)을 제시하였으며, 수정동재하지지력과 정재하지지력을 비교했을 때는 그 차이가 9%로 줄어들었다(신뢰도 : 0.91, 변동계수 : 0.2). 또한 변동계수가 0.2로 줄어들어 일관성이 증가한 것으로 나타났다.

아스팔트 프리캐스트 포트홀 보수재료의 선정과 현장 적용성에 관한 연구 (A Study for Selection and Field Applicability of Asphalt Precast Pothole Repair Materials)

  • PURPOSES: The purpose of this study was to break away from the workforce method using cold-mix asphalt mixtures and has a constant quality and has develop repair materials of pre-production asphalt-precast types. METHODS: The selection of the repair material was determined as the results obtained through physical properties of materials and the field applicability. In case of repair materials, values obtained through Marshall stability test & the dynamic stability test & retained stability test as well as the site conditions was considered. In case of adhesive, test results were obtained through examination of the bond strength(tensile, shear) and the field applicability of the adhesive was examined through combined specimens to simulate field applications. RESULTS : According to the results of laboratory tests, in the case of repair materials, Marshall stability and dynamic stability, retained stability of cold-mix reaction type asphalt mixture is the highest. In the case of adhesive, two-component epoxy-urea has a very high bonding strength(tensile, shear) was most excellent. According to the results of field tests, when epoxy-urea was excellent workability. Also, the repair body through actual mock-up test did not occur large deformation and fracture after 12 months. CONCLUSIONS : A suitable repair material is cold-mix reaction type mixture of asphalt-precast, a suitable adhesive is a two-component epoxy-urea.

동적 콘관입 시험의 현장적용성 평가를 위한 현장 지지력시험 상호 비교 연구 (Comparison of Field Bearing Capacity Tests to Evaluate the Field Application of Dynamic Cone Penetrometer Test)

  • 포장하부구조의 지지력을 평가하기 위해 많이 사용되는 방법은 평판재하시험(Plate Bearing Test) 현장 CBR시험(California Bearing Ratio Test) 등이 있으나, 시험을 수행하는데 있어 많은 인력과 시간이 소비되는 단점이 있어, 많은 연구자들은 현장에서 포장하부구조의 강성을 측정할 수 있는 간편한 방법으로 동적 콘 관입시험(Dynamic Cone Penetrometer Test)을 제안하였다. 이에 본 연구에서는 DCP의 현장적용성을 평가하기 위해, 총 4개 현장의 노상층과 보조기층에서 DCP, 평판재하시험, 현장CBR시험, FWD시험을 동시에 수행하여 그 결과를 상호 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 DCPI, $M{FWD},\;PBT\underline{\;}K_{30}$은 서로 일정한 상관관계가 존재하는 것으로 나타났으나, CBR은 다른 결과 값들과 비교한 결과 상관관계가 매우 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 이 결과로부터 $DCPI-M_{FWD},\;DCPI-PBT\underline{\;}K_{30}$ 관계식을 다음과 같이 제안하였다. $$M_{FWD}=993.10\Big(\frac{1}{DCPI}\Big)+33.95\;R^2=0.774$ $$M_{FWD}=3.7533K_{30}+23.085\;R^2=0.69$$

외부 교류자장이 Bi-2223테이프의 동저항 및 손실특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of an External AC Magnetic field on Dynamic Resistance and Loss Characteristic in a Bi-2223 Tape)

  • A Bi-2223 tape has been developed for power applications such as a fault current limiter, a power cable and a superconducting magnetic energy storage system. In such applications, the Bi-2223 tape carries time varying transport current and in addition experiences time varying external magnetic field. It is well known that the external magnetic field not only causes magnetization loss in the Bi-2223 tape, but also drastically increases transport loss due to a so-called 'dynamic resistance' We developed an evaluation setup, which can measure transport loss in external at magnetic fields. Using this equipment, we measured the dynamic resistances for various amplitudes and frequencies of an external at magnetic field perpendicular to the face in the tape. Simultaneously we investigated the effect of an external ac field on transport loss with different experimental conditions. This paper describes test results ana discussions on correlation between the dynamic resistance and the transport loss for the Bi-2223 tape.
