  • This paper investigates efficiency analysis to IT HRD programs in the dynamic perspective. First, empirical result shows that government fund of IT research center is significantly associated with SCI thesis and the more trial goods and SW development is connected with the more patent and technology transfer. Second, ITRC program has been operated efficiently since 2000. Finally, dynamic efficiency analysis implicates that ITRC program is more efficient than other IT SoC program and foreign student support program. The reason why ITRC program is more efficient is generated not from the effect of imitation by catch-up strategy to developed HRD programs, but new operation system introducing and utilizing HRD performance system.

  • A suitable ground motion intensity measure (IM) plays a crucial role in the seismic performance assessment of a structure. In this paper, we introduce a scalar IM for use in evaluating the seismic response of single-layer reticulated domes. This IM is defined as the weighted geometric mean of the spectral acceleration ordinates at the periods of the dominant vibration modes of the structure considered, and the modal strain energy ratio of each dominant vibration mode is the corresponding weight. Its applicability and superiority to 11 other existing IMs are firstly investigated in terms of correlation with the nonlinear seismic response, efficiency and sufficiency using the results of incremental dynamic analyses which are performed for a typical single-layer reticulated dome. The hazard computability of this newly proposed IM is also briefly discussed and illustrated. A conclusion is drawn that this dominant vibration mode-based scalar IM has the characteristics of strong correlation, high efficiency, good sufficiency as well as hazard computability, and thereby is appropriate for use in the prediction of seismic response of single-layer reticulated domes.

  • Performing continuous skyline queries of dynamic data sets is now more challenging as the sizes of data sets increase and as they become more volatile due to the increase in dynamic updates. Although previous work proposed support for such queries, their efficiency was restricted to small data sets or uniformly distributed data sets. In a production database with many concurrent queries, the execution of continuous skyline queries impacts query performance due to update requirements to acquire exclusive locks, possibly blocking other query threads. Thus, the computational costs increase. In order to minimize computational requirements, we propose a method based on a multi-layer grid structure. First, relational data object, elements of an initial data set, are processed to obtain the corresponding multi-layer grid structure and the skyline influence regions over the data. Then, the dynamic data are processed only when they are identified within the skyline influence regions. Therefore, a large amount of computation can be pruned by adopting the proposed multi-layer grid structure. Using a variety of datasets, the performance evaluation confirms the efficiency of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, we propose a dynamic slot allocation algorithm for efficient transmission of VBR services in wireless ATM networks. The proposed algorithm is based on a hybrid dynamic parameter(DP) control which combines the strength of in-band control and out-of-band control by considering the variation characteristics of buffer length in distributed mobile terminals. This algorithm consists of four sub-algorithms: dynamic parameter determination algorithm, dynamic parameter transmission algorithm, estimation algorithm of the number of request slots, and prorated-allocation algorithm. As the proposed allocation algorithm based on the hybrid DP control scheme can offer nearly precise MAC level estimations of the requirements for each VBR, the algorithm makes it possible to obtain ideal allocation efficiency. The allocation efficiency of the algorithm is shown by numerical analysis. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has better performance than conventional schemes in terms of allocation efficiency, delay and cell loss ratio under VBR traffic.

  • The S355NL steel has garnered attention as a structural material for applications in extremely challenging environments owing to its excellent mechanical properties. This study investigated the hot deformation behavior of S355NL steel through compression tests conducted in a temperature range of 900-1200℃ and a strain rate range of 10-3-1 s-1 to explore the optimal processing parameters. The flow behaviors consisted of an initial rapid increase and subsequent plateau with a marginal decrease in stress. This phenomenon was interpreted in terms of microstructural evolution, such as dislocation density and dynamic recrystallization. The efficiency of power dissipation and instability domains were derived using the dynamic material model based on the compression test dataset, providing a series of processing maps. In contrast to conventional processing maps plotted for a single strain value, this study has established ten maps at a strain interval of 0.1. This approach allowed for the consideration of continuously variable strain parameters, which is inherent to an actual metal-forming process. The efficiency of power dissipation was strongly governed by the high temperatures (≥ 1100℃). The strain rates barely affected the efficiency, but it primarily contributed to the instability domains. The application of high strain rates (≥ 10-1s-1) generated a region of negative instability due to the absence of dynamic recrystallization and the presence of cracks at grain boundaries.

  • The scaled boundary finite element method is extended to evaluate the dynamic stress intensity factors and T-stress with a numerical procedure based on the improved continued-fraction. The improved continued-fraction approach for the dynamic stiffness matrix is introduced to represent the inertial effect at high frequencies, which leads to numerically better conditioned matrices. After separating the singular stress term from other high order terms, the internal displacements can be obtained by numerical integration and no mesh refinement is needed around the crack tip. The condition numbers of coefficient matrix of the improved method are much smaller than that of the original method, which shows that the improved algorithm can obtain well-conditioned coefficient matrices, and the efficiency of the solution process and its stability can be significantly improved. Several numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the increased robustness and efficiency of the proposed method in both homogeneous and bimaterial crack problems.

  • Ethernet-based passive optical network(EPON) technology is being considered as a promising solution for next-generation broadband access network. It must have the property of high efficiency, low cost, and support quality of service(QoS). A major feature for this new architecture is the use of a shared transmission media between all connected optical network unit(ONU). Hence, medium access control(MAC) arbitration mechanisms are essential for the successful implementation of EPON. In this paper we propose a simple dynamic bandwidth allocation(DBA) algorithm that improves the performance of network and supports IP-based multimedia applications with the bursty data traffic. In addition, we introduce analytic models of proposed algorithms and prove the system based on our algorithm to be asymptotically stable. Simulation results show the new DBA algorithm provides high bandwidth efficiency and low queueing delay of ONU in EPON.

  • In this paper, an efficient dynamic analysis method of a building structure with viscoelastic dampers is proposed. Viscoelastic dampers are used for the purpose of controlling vibration of buildings. The matrix condensation technlque based on the rigid diaphragm assumption is not readily applicable for building structures with viscoelastic dampers. An improved procedure for damping matrix condensation is employed in the proposed method to increase the efficiency of analysis. Efficiency and accuracy of the proposed method are verified through analysis of an example structure.

  • Purpose: Recently, renewable energy system has been widely used to reduce the energy consumption and CO2 emission of building. A photovoltaic/thermal(PVT) system is a kind of efficient energy uses, which is combined with photovoltaic module and solar thermal collector. PVT system removes heat from PV module by through thermal fluid to raise the performance efficiency of the PV system. However, though PVT system has the merit of the improved efficiency in theoretical approach, there have been few performance analysis for PVT system using the dynamic energy simulation. In this study, in order to establish the optimum design method of this system, simulation was conducted by using individual system modules. Method: For the dynamic simulation, TRNSYS17 was used and local weather data was utilized. Furthermore, the system performance in various installation condition was calculated by case studies. Result: As a result, the amount of electric generation and heat production in each case was found by the simulation. The gap of system performance was also evident according to the installation condition.

  • In the steel structures design, beam-to-column connections are usually considered either rigid or pinned, while their actual behavior lies between these two ideal cases. This consideration has a major influence on the results of the local and the global behavior of steel structures. This influence is noticed in the case of a static analysis, and has an important effect in the case of a dynamic analysis. In fact, pinned and rigid nodes can be considered as two specific cases of a semi-rigid behavior. To study the efficiency of the classification adopted in Eurocode 3, a numerical simulation of semi-rigid nodes has been carried out using the software ANSYS. In the aim to validate this simulation, the numerical results are compared to those of an analytical approach. After that, the validated numerical simulation has been used, to evaluate the efficiency of the classification adopted by the Eurocode 3, regarding semi-rigid connections. Finally, a new method is proposed to define a more accurate evaluation about semi-rigid connections.
