증강현실에서 3D이미지 구현을 위한 스테레오 정합 연구 (The Study of Stereo Matching for 3D Image Implementation in Augmented Reality)

  • 3D technology is main factor in Augmented Reality. Depth map is essential to make cubic effect using 2d image. There are a lot of ways to construct Depth map. Among them, stereo matching is mainly used. This paper presents how to generate depth map using stereo matching. For stereo matching, existing Dynamic programming method is used. To make accurate stereo matching, High-Boost Filter is applied to preprocessing method. As a result, when depth map is generated, accuracy based on Ground Truth soared.

  • In this paper, our ray tracing hardware is implemented on the latest high-capacity FPGA board. The system included ray tracing hardware for rendering and tree building hardware for handling dynamic scenes. The FPGA board used in the implementation is a Xilinx Alveo U250 accelerator card for data centers. This included 12 ray tracing hardware cores and 1 tree-building hardware core. As a result of testing in various scenes in Full HD resolution, the FPS performance of the proposed ray tracing system was measured from 8 to 28. The overall average is about 17.7 FPS.

  • In this paper, we propose a SIFT feature-based dynamic stitching algorithm for image calibration and correction of a 360-degree surround view system. The existing surround view system requires a lot of processing time and money because in the process of image calibration and correction. The traditional marker patterns are placed around the vehicle and correction is performed manually. Therefore, in this study, images captured with four fisheye cameras mounted on the surround view system were distorted and then matched with the same feature points in adjacent images through SIFT-based feature point extraction to enable image stitching without a fixed marker pattern.

  • In this study, the dynamic characteristics of an air spring connected with an external chamber through a flexible tube are examined. The uncoupled dynamic parameters of the air spring are identified through experiments, followed by the suggestion of a model-based approach to obtain the remaining coupled dynamic parameters using the various frequency response functions derived in PART I paper [1]. To improve or control the damping characteristics of the air spring, this vibration isolation air spring system is physically established in laboratory scale. And we attempt to identify various parameters used to describe to air spring system by both theoretically [1] and experimentally, which is performed in this report. The damping parameter of the tube system is identified through experiments on the system incorporated with the air cylinder, and a nonlinear regression procedure is employed to find solutions. The resulting value is used to expect the frequency response function of dynamic pressure in the top chamber (air spring) with respect to that in the bottom chamber (external chamber). Comparison with the experimental data supports the validity of the present estimation procedures. Also, the dynamic mechanism of the damping effects particularly in a low frequency range is investigated through this experimental endeavor.

  • Tactile sensation is one of the most important sensory functions along with the auditory sensation for the visually impaired since it replaces the visual one of the persons with sight. In this paper, we present a tactile display device as a dynamic Braille display that is the unique tool f3r exchanging information among them. The tactile cell of the Braille display proposed is based on the dielectric elastomer, which is one of the electroactive polymers. It has advantageous features over the existing ones with respect to intrinsic softness, ease of fabrication, cost effectiveness and miniaturization. We introduce a new idea for actuation as well as additional considerations such as the driving circuit that makes it possible to drive multiple tactile cells in a high speed. Also, we describe the actuating mechanism of the Braille pin in details capable of realizing the enhanced spatial density of the tactile cells. Finally, results of psychophysical experiments are given to evaluate its effectiveness.

LED 디스플레이 시스템을 위한 최적의 플리커 프리 디스플레이 제어장치 구현 (Implementation of Optimal Flicker Free Display Controller for LED Display System)

  • 본 논문에서는 LED 디스플레이 시스템의 동적인 구동방식에서 LPM 모듈의 구성에 관계없이 휘도구현 비트를 16비트 이내, 휘도 구현 펄스를 512개 이내에서 최적의 플리커 프리 제어 알고리즘을 개발하고 이 알고리즘을 이용하여 디스플레이 제어장치를 구현하였다. 구현방법으로는 완전한 색 표현을 위한 기존의 시프트-래치 방법을 변형하여 여러 번의 시프트-래치를 수행하게 하여 스캔횟수를 늘림으로써 리플레시율을 증가시키는 방법을 사용하였다. 그 결과로 기존의 LED 디스플레이 시스템은 리플레시율이 240~480[Hz]를 수행하지만 제안된 방법을 사용하면 리플레시율을 2,040[Hz] 이상으로 높게 구현할 수 있기 때문에 플리커 현상을 감지할 수 없게 된다.

  • This paper describes work by the authors aimed at reducing the mismatch between accommodation and convergence when viewing stereoscopic 3D images. Two methodologies, one a simple system with a mono-focal lens and the other a dynamic system using a moving LCD, were introduced as experimental 3D displays with optical correction. The results of usage evaluations suggest improvements in health and amenity can be achieved with stereoscopic representation with accommodation.

  • In this work, we investigate the operational properties of this proposed device in detail via classical MD simulations. The bi-stability of the GNF(Graphene Nano-flake) shuttle encapsulated in bi-layer GNR could be achieved from the increase of the attractive energy between the GNRs when the GNF approached the edges of the GNRs. This result showed the potential application of the nano-electromechanical GNR memory as a NVRAM.

  • BiNem$^{(R)}$ displays have entered volume manufacturing in 2009. Applications range from e-labels to e-readers. We have developed 6-inch $960{\times}720$ pixels passive matrix BiNem prototypes achieving 40 % brightness and fluid user interface based on partial image / dynamic pointer addressing. Active-matrix addressing is proposed to provide even faster operation.
