ECAP 성형가공한 Al 2024 초미세결정립 재료의 소성변형량에 따른 강도 변화 (Strength Change due to Plastic Deformation in Al 2024 Ultrafine Grained ECAP Metal)

  • Strength change of an over-aged A12024 material was studied after being subjected to stages of severe plastic deformation by ECAP (Equal Channel Angular Pressing). Various kinds of strength value were measured using the conventional tensile test, Rockwell and Vickers hardness and the SP (small punch) test Due to limitation of the specimen size, tension test in transverse direction could not be conducted. Hence, SP test was employed for assessing the strength in transverse direction. Based on TEM observation the measured strength characteristics were explained based on the relation between microstructure, dislocation and strength. As the number of ECAP pass increases, the strength of A12024 was also increased. However, considerable change of strength, which is generally predicted, was not observed in this study. For the strength in transverse direction even decrease of the strength was observed after 6 passes of ECAP. It was argued that this decrease was due to dynamic recovery of dislocation density during or after ECAP processes at $150^{\circ}C$. The strength assessment equation proposed by the authors in the previous paper was shown to be very accurate. This argument was supported by comparing the results of conventional tensile test with those of SP test. It was also pointed that the Rockwell har(3ness value seemed to be able to represent the strength in the transverse direction.

다방향 GFRP 플레이트의 인장강도 분석을 위한 시험 방법 제안에 관한 연구 (The Suggestion of Testing Method for Analysis of Tensile Strength of Multi-Directional GFRP Plate)

  • 이 논문에서는 다방향성 GFRP 플레이트의 인장특성치에 대한 명확한 분석을 위해 FRP 보강근과 같은 정착장치를 이용한 시험 방법을 제안하였다. 등방성 또는 직교섬유로 강화된 FRP 플레이트의 인장시험은 ISO 규준으로 표준화 되어 있으며 역학적 특성치 분석을 위한 시험 방법의 연구도 진행되었으나 다방향성 GFRP 플레이트에 적용시 인장강도 특성치를 명확하게 확인하기 힘든 방법으로 나타났다. 국내에서 사용하는 시험 방법의 경우 일방향성 FRP 플레이트에 적용하는 ASTM 기준을 계속 사용하고 있으며 시험 결과 인장특성이 크게 나타나는 결과를 보였다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 국내외 규준을 분석하여 모든 규준에서 공통으로 제시하고 있는 방법을 기준으로 GFRP 인장시험을 실시하였으며 정착장치 길이와 시험 방법을 새롭게 제안하여 결과를 비교 분석하였다. 또한, 시험체 정착장치의 적절한 길이 비를 수치해석을 통해 도출하여 다방향성 GFRP 플레이트의 새로운 인장 시험 방법을 제시하였다.

An experimental study of a circular cylinder's two-degree-of-freedom motion induced by vortex

  • This paper presents results of an experimental investigation of vortex-induced vibration (VIV) of a flexibly mounted and rigid cylinder with two-degrees-of-freedom with respect to varying ratio of in-line natural frequency to cross-flow natural frequency, $f^*$, at a fixed low mass ratio. Combined in-line and cross-flow motion was observed in a sub-critical Reynolds number range. Three-dimensional displacement meter and tension meter were used to measure dynamic responses of the model. To validate the results and the experiment system, x and y response amplitudes and ratio of oscillation frequency to cross-flow natural frequency were compared with other experimental results. It has been found that the higher harmonics, such as third and more vibration components, can occur on a certain part of steel catenary riser under a condition of dual resonance mode. In the present work, however, due to the limitation of a size of circulating water channel, the whole test of a whole configuration of the riser at an adequate scale for VIV phenomenon was not able to be conducted. Instead, we have modeled a rigid cylinder and assumed that the cylinder is a part of steel catenary riser where the higher harmonic motions could occur. Through the experiment, we have found that even though the cylinder was assumed to be rigid, the occurrence of the higher harmonic motions was observed in a small reduced velocity ($V_r$) range, where the influence of the in-line response is relatively large. The transition of the vortex shedding mode from one to another was examined by using time history of x and y directional displacement over all experimental cases. We also observed the influence of in-line restoring force power spectral density with $f^*$.

  • 피혁 제조 공정에서 계면활성제는 세정목적, 분산성 그리고 고착성 등을 부여하기 위해 사용되고 있다. 그러나 기존의 피혁 공정에서 사용되고 있는 계면활성제는 친수성기가 다량 포함되어 있어 향후 피혁 시장에서 요구될 것으로 기대되는 내오염성, 내수성, 내구성 통의 고기능성 특성을 재현하는데 문제점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 탄화수소 계열의 계면활성제의 문제점을 보완하기 위해서, 탄소-불소의 강한 결합에너지로 인한 표면장력 감소, 분산력 증대, 세정효과, 크롬 흡착력 증대 등의 특성을 나타내는 불소계 계면활성제를 제조하였다. 불소계 계면활성제의 사용으로 피혁 제조 공정의 분산성 증대, 침투력 상승 및 결합력을 향상시켜 크롬 흡착률 증가, 탄닝 폐수 배액의 크롬 함량 감소, 생물학적 산소 요구량, 화학적 산소 요구량의 함량 감소 및 물리적 특성이 향상되는 것을 확인하였다.

  • This paper presents the effect of driving waveform for piezoelectric bend mode inkjet printhead with optimized mechanical design. Experimental and theoretical studies on the applied driving waveform versus jetting characteristic s were performed. The inkjet head has been designed to maximize the droplet velocity, minimize voltage response of the actuator and optimize the firing frequency to eject ink droplet. The head design was carried out by using mechanical simulation. The printhead has been fabricated with Si(100) and SOI wafers by MEMS process and silicon direct bonding method. To investigate how performance of the piezoelectric ceramic actuator influences on droplet diameter and droplet velocity, the method of stroboscopy was used. Also we observed the movement characteristics of PZT actuator with LDV(Laser Doppler Vibrometer) system, oscilloscope and dynamic signal analyzer. Missing nozzles caused by bubbles in chamber were monitored by their resonance frequency. Using the water based ink of viscosity of 4.8 cps and surface tension of 0.025N/m, it is possible to eject stable droplets up to 20kHz, 4.4m/s and above 8pL at the different applied driving waveforms.

다방향 불규칙파랑에 의한 케이블과 정체시스템의 반응 (Response of Cable-Buoy Systems to Directional Random Waves)

  • 해양구조물의 케이블 반응 분석을 위한 다방향 파람 스펙트라의 수치모델이 조사되었다. 여러 형태의 전파모델을 파랑으로 인한 물입자의 흐름과 계류시스템을 예측하기 위해 사용하였다. 케이블에 작용하는 수동역학적 파력은 케이블의 경사에 평행한 방향과 접선방향에서의 항력과 관성력을 고려한 Morison 공식에 의해 평가되었다. 변위와 속도, 궤적, 위상면의 반응, 그리고 장력을 고려한 다방향 불규칙 파랑의 수치해석에 의하여 부체의 tether pc와 anchor point에서 계류시스템 케이블의 반응을 나타내었다. 서로 다른 항력 계수와 다양한 유의 파고, 그리고 선택된 파랑계수들이 이 분석에 고려되었다. 예제에서 고려된 특정 시스템을 통하여 파랑의 전파함수계수와 항력계수 뿐만 아니라 파랑의 주기와 높이가 케이블-부체시스템의 동적반응에 중요한 영향을 미침을 알 수 있었다.

온라인 고객정보 수집에서의 프라이버시와 심리적 반발 (Information Privacy and Reactance in Online Profiling)

  • In the information age, cheap price of information processing and advances in personalization technology have allowed companies to enhance the relationships with their existing customers and to expand their customer base by effectively attracting new customers. However, most customers are reluctant to provide their personal information to companies. This study explores the tension between companies' desire to collect personal information to offer personalized services and their customers' privacy concerns. The psychological reactance theory suggests that when individuals feel that their behavioral choice is threatened or restricted, they are motivated to restore their freedom. Therefore, despite the expected benefits from personalized services, customers may perceive the services to be restrictive of their freedom to choose. This adverse effect may undermine the relationships between companies and their customers. We conducted experiments to explore the dynamic roles of transactional and environmental factors in motivating customers to provide personal information. We revisited online privacy issues from the perspective of psychological reactance. For the experiments, we created an online shop and randomly assigned the participants to one of the two experimental conditions-high and low levels of information requirements. The results of the experiment indicate that threatening the free choice serves as a transactional cost in online profiling. On the other hand, the expected benefits of personalization services have positive correlations with customers' willingness to provide personal information. This study explains privacy based on transactional and environmental factors. Our findings also indicate that the environmental factors such as the Internet privacy risk and trust propensity do not significantly affect the willingness to provide personal information when firms required much personal information. Implications and contributions are discussed.

메타크릴산 아연염의 첨가가 폴리프로필렌-니트릴고무 블렌드의 동적가교 및 기계적물성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Zinc Dimethacrylate on Mechanical Properties of Dynamically Vulcanized Polypropylene(PP) and Nitrile rubber(NBR) Blends)

  • 고무상으로 니트릴고무(NBR)을 플라스틱상으로 isotactic 폴리프로필렌(iPP)을 고무:플라스틱 비율이 70:30(wt:wt)되도록 내부혼합기에서 용융 혼합하고, 과산화물 가교제(DCP) 및 메타크릴산 아연염(ZDMA)을 첨가하여 동적 가교시킨 블렌드를 제조하였다. DCP만을 사용하여 동적가교시킨 블렌드에 비해 DCP와 ZDMA를 함께 첨가하여 제조한 동적가교시킨 블렌드가 우수한 인장물성, 인열강도 및 고무탄성을 나타내었다. 이는 메타크릴간 아연염의 첨가에 의해 동적가교과정 중 고무상의 가교밀도가 증가되고, 가교된 고무상이 플라스틱 연속상에 더 미세하게 분산되기 때문인 것으로 생각되었다. 또한, 제조된 블렌드는 반복 가공 시 물성의 큰 저하가 나타나지 않아 재활용성이 가능한 열가소성탄성체임을 알 수 있었다.

Vortex induced vibration and its controlling of long span Cross-Rope Suspension transmission line with tension insulator

  • Long span cross-rope suspension structure is an innovative structural system evolved from typical Cross-Rope Suspension (CRS) guyed tower, a type of supporting system with short span suspension cable supporting overhead power transmission lines. In mountainous areas, the span length of suspension cable was designed to be extended to hundreds or over one thousand meters, which is applicable for crossing deep valleys. Vortex Induced Vibration (VIV) of overhead power transmission lines was considered to be one of the major factors of its fatigue and service life. In this paper, VIV and its controlling by Stockbridge damper for long span CRS was discussed. Firstly, energy balance method and finite element method for assessing VIV of CRS were presented. An approach of establishing FE model of long span CRS structure with dampers was introduced. The effect of Stockbridge damper for overall vibration of CRS was compared in both theoretical and numerical approaches. Results indicated that vibration characteristics of conductor in long span CRS compared with traditional tower-line system. Secondly, analysis on long span CRS including Stockbridge damper showed additional dampers installed were essential for controlling maximum dynamic bending stresses of conductors at both ends. Moreover, factors, including configuration and mass of Stockbridge damper, span length of suspension cable and conductor and number of spans of conductor, were assessed for further discussion on VIV controlling of long span CRS.

Mg-5Bi-3Al 마그네슘 고속 압출재의 미세조직과 고주기피로 특성 (Microstructure and High-Cycle Fatigue Properties of High-Speed-Extruded Mg-5Bi-3Al Alloy)

  • In this study, the microstructural characteristics of a high-speed-extruded Mg-5Bi-3Al (BA53) alloy and its tensile, compressive, and high-cycle fatigue properties are investigated. The BA53 alloy is successfully extruded at a die-exit speed of 16.6 m/min without any hot cracking using a large-scale extruder for mass production. The homogenized BA53 billet has a large grain size of ~900 ㎛ and it contains fine and coarse Mg3Bi2 particles. The extruded BA53 alloy has a fully recrystallized microstructure with an average grain size of 33.8 ㎛ owing to the occurrence of complete dynamic recrystallization during high-speed extrusion. In addition, the extruded BA53 alloy contains numerous fine lath-type Mg3Bi2 particles, which are formed through static precipitation during air cooling after exiting the extrusion die. The extruded BA53 alloy has a high tensile yield strength of 175.1 MPa and ultimate tensile strength of 244.4 MPa, which are mainly attributed to the relative fine grain size and numerous fine particles. The compressive yield strength (93.4 MPa) of the extruded BA53 alloy is lower than its tensile yield strength, resulting in a tension-compression yield asymmetry of 0.53. High-cycle fatigue test results reveal that the extruded BA53 alloy has a fatigue strength of 110 MPa and fatigue cracks initiate at the surface of fatigue test specimens, indicating that the Mg3Bi2 particles do not act as fatigue crack initiation sites. Furthermore, the extruded BA53 alloy exhibits a higher fatigue ratio of 0.45 than other commercial extruded Mg-Al-Zn-based alloys.
