Among various methods to acquire high strength in plain carbon steel, the mettled of grain refinement by controlling thermo-mechanical processing parameters has gained a great attention if steel rolling industries. In the present study, three different rolling pass schedules are proposed to obtain fine grains which are based on combined results of recrystallization modelling, finite element analysis and experiment. Since meta-dynamic or dynamic recrystallization has been found to be very effective in producing fine grains, reduction ratio and interpass time in the proposed rolling pass schedules were determined in order to invoke such recrystallization as often as possible.

Improvement of structure-borne noises in the vehicle compartments has been one of the primary concerns in the development of vehicles. The booming is an annoying low frequency interior noise and vibration in vehicle. But it is difficult to reduce the structure-born booming noise in traditional method - trial and error within the shorten development schedule. So in present, the structure dynamic modification (SDM) method helpful to predict the effect of the local mass, stiffness, and damping is introduced. So in order to reduce the interior booming noise, the SDM was performed, and verified with modal test result. It was shown that the interior booming noise was reduced as predicted.

Compared to Packaged Terminal Air Conditioning Systems, Radiant Cooling Systems have the advantage of energy saving and thermal comfort. Thermally Activated Building System (TABS) is one of the radiant heating and cooling systems. The main difference between TABS and other radiant systems lies in the usage of the time-lag effect of storing heat energy in the concrete. Current energy usage in summer time is concentrated within a specific time by using Packaged Terminal Air-Conditioner (PTAC). Due to the time-lag effect of TABS, energy usage can be distributed to other time zones. To maximize this effect, it is important to determine the appropriate operating mode, which for TABS is dependent upon the cooling load generated by the occupancy schedule. In this study, occupancy schedules are determined for various residential types. The operating modes of TABS for these residential types are estimated by using a dynamic computational simulation method. The results indicate that the operating modes of TABS can be determined by residential type and occupancy schedule. The load handled ratio by TABS is set up differently according to the cooling load profile obtained from residential type and occupancy schedule. By using TABS, energy consumption could be reduced by 20% compared to PTAC.
The amount of solar irradiation obtained by a photovoltaic (PV) solar panel is the major factor determining the power generated by a PV system, and the array tilt angle is critical for maximizing panel radiation acquisition. There are three types of PV systems based on the manner of setting the array tilt angle: fixed, semi-fixed, and tracking systems. A fixed system cannot respond to seasonal solar altitude angle changes, and therefore cannot absorb the maximum available solar radiation. The tracking system continually adjusts the tilt angle to absorb the maximum available radiation, but requires additional cost for equipment, installation, operation, and maintenance. The semi-fixed system is only adjusted periodically (usually seasonally) to obtain more energy than a fixed system at an overall cost that is less than a tracking system. To maximize semi-fixed system efficiency, determining the optimal tilt angle adjustment schedule are required. In this research, we conducted a simulation to derive an optimal operation schedule for a semi-fixed system in Seoul, Korea (latitude $37.5^{\circ}$). We implemented a solar radiation acquisition model and PV genereation model on MATLAB. The optimal operation schedule was derived by changing the number of tilt angle adjustments throughout a year using a Dynamic Algorithm. The results show that adjusting the tilt angle 4 times a year was the most appropriate. and then, generation amount of PV system increased 2.80% compared with the fixed system. This corresponds to 99% compared to daily adjustment model. This increase would be quite valid as the PV system installation area increased.

A deterministic multiproduct, facility-in series multiperiod production planning model is analyzed, where each period demand for the product of a facility appear in a fixed proportion of that for the product of the immediately following facility. The model considers concave production and inventory costs, which can depend upon the production in different facilities. No backlogging is allowed. It is shown that the model is represented via a single source network, which facilitates development of efficient dynamic programming algorithms for computing the optimal production schedule.

Instantaneous reaction and intelligence are required for autonomous mobile robots to achieve multiple goals in the unpredictable and dynamic environments. Design of the appropriate control architecture and clear definitions of systems are needed to construct and control these robots. This research proposes the hybrid deliberative/reactive control architecture which consists of three layers and uses the method of software structure design. The highest layer, Deliberative Layer makes the overall run-time schedule for navigation and/or manipulation, and the middle layer, Task Execution Layer carries out various missions. The lowest layer, Reactive Layer enables a robot to react rapidly in the dynamic environment and controls the mechanical devices concurrently. This paper proposes independent system supervisors called Manager to reuse the modules so that the Manager supports common use of the system and multi-processing tasks. It is shown that the mobile robot based on the proposed control scheme can perform the basic navigation and cope with the dynamic obstacles reasonably well.

In this paper, a novel approach to generator maintenance scheduling strategy in competitive electricity markets based on non-cooperative dynamic game theory is presented. The main contribution of this study can be considered to develop a game-theoretic framework for analyzing strategic behaviors of generating companies (Gencos) from the standpoints of the generator maintenance-scheduling problem (GMP) game. To obtain the equilibrium solution for the GMP game, the GMP problem is formulated as a dynamic non-cooperative game with complete information. In the proposed game, the players correspond to the profit-maximizing individual Gencos, and the payoff of each player is defined as the profits from the energy market. The optimal maintenance schedule is defined by subgame perfect equilibrium of the game. Numerical results for two-Genco system by both proposed method and conventional one are used to demonstrate that 1) the proposed framework can be successfully applied in analyzing the strategic behaviors of each Genco in changed markets and 2) both methods show considerably different results in terms of market stability or system reliability. The result indicates that generator maintenance scheduling strategy is one of the crucial strategic decision-makings whereby Gencos can maximize their profits in a competitive market environment.
The competitiveness of container terminals hinges on minimizing the time vessels spend in port and on schedule services. Many previous researches on container terminals have tried to optimize the equipment allocation plan and to improve the activity of resources. Nevertheless, there have been few researches conducted on yard tractors, which move containers between the quay and the yard. The aim of this study is to propose the use of Real Time Location Systems (RTLS) based Dynamic Planning for yard tractors. Only RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tags, which are attached to yard tractors, are able to support RTLS implementation. The system can provide real time job ordering in terms of load balancing using the information on location, in regards to the movement of yard tractors. This study will present the practical feasibility of RTLS, which can ultimately reduce the congestion of Hot Queues in container terminals. As a result, container terminals can be more productive and competitive. In order to accomplish the purpose of this study, we examined previous studies on the competitiveness of container terminals and summarized the potential of RTLS using RFID. In addition, we identified the role of yard tractors and proposed the two rules of Dynamic Planning for the yard tractors. We then fulfilled computational experiments on how yard tractors carrying containers by RTLS ordering Finally, the benefits and the implications of this study are discussed.

In this paper, a fundamental study for developing and introducing a new assessment method of the 'Energy Performance' in G-SEED that uses dynamic building energy simulations was conducted by comparing and analyzing the corresponding issues of domestic and foreign green building certification systems. The most significant part of the new assessment method to be developed was a development of a modeling guideline for a reference building using dynamic building energy simulations. In this paper, the composition and detailed contents of the guideline was created to comply with domestic energy codes. In addition, one of the most influential part of the result in the simulations, the 24-hour building operation schedule for a reference building, was created considering the equity with the ECO2 program that is the evaluation tool of one of the current assessment methods in the "Energy Performance". In order to improve the completeness of this guideline, it is necessary to continue the process of supplementation in the future, however, this paper is expected to be of great significance as the beginning of the research.
We present a new block cipher called DyC. It consists of four sets (procedures) having the different $2^2,\;2^2,\;2^4$, and $2^8$ one-to-one correspondence functions as the elements. The round key is used to determine exactly one composite function from the possible $2^{16}$ composite functions. DyC supports 8 $\times$ n bit key size, 16 $\times$ m bit block length, and n rounds. We have confirmed that DyC offers security against other well-known advanced cryptanalytic attacks including the slide attacks and interpolation attacks. In this paper, we show several properties of the key schedule of DyC by mathematical analysis.
