Abstract This paper proposes an event filtering technique that can dynamically control a large amount of event messages produced by moving objects like avatars or autonomous objects in a distributed virtual environment. The proposed multi-level grid model technique uses the method that extracts the representative events from the paths of moving objects. For dynamic control of message traffics, this technique digitizes the DOIs of the avatars and reflects the interest information controlling the frequency of message transmission. For the performance evaluation, a large number of moving objects were created and the model was applied to these avatar groups. In the experiments, more than 50% of messages have been reduced in comparison with the existing AOI-based filtering techniques. The proposed technique can dynamically control the QoS in proportion to the number of users and the amount of messages where a large number of users share a virtual space. This model can be applied to the development of 3D collaborative virtual societies and multi-user online games in the Internet.

  • In wireless personal area networks(PANs), the successful design of channel time allocation algorithm is a key factor in guaranteeing the various quality of service(QoS) requirements for the stringent real-time constraints of multimedia services. In this paper we propose a dynamic channel time allocation algerian for providing delay guarantees to multimedia traffics such as MPEG streams in the IEEE 802.15.3 high-rate WPANs. The dynamic algorithm exploits the characteristics of MPEG stream, wherein the devices (DEVs) send their channel time requests only at the end of superframe boundaries. The algerian uses mini packets for feedback control in order to deliver dynamic parameters for channel time requests from the DEVs to the piconet coordinator (PNC). In this scheme, the duration of channel time allocated to a DEV during a superframe is changed dynamically depending on the MPEG frame type, traffic load and delay bound of the frame, etc. Performance of the proposed scheme is investigated by simulation. Our results show that compared to traditional scheme, the proposed scheme is very effective and has high performance while guaranteeing the delay bound.

  • Cloud radio access networks (C-RANs) have been regarded in recent times as a promising concept in future 5G technologies where all DSP processors are moved into a central base band unit (BBU) pool in the cloud, and distributed remote radio heads (RRHs) compress and forward received radio signals from mobile users to the BBUs through radio links. In such dynamic environment, automatic decision-making approaches, such as artificial intelligence based deep reinforcement learning (DRL), become imperative in designing new solutions. In this paper, we propose a generic framework of autonomous cell activation and customized physical resource allocation schemes for energy consumption and QoS optimization in wireless networks. We formulate the problem as fractional power control with bandwidth adaptation and full power control and bandwidth allocation models and set up a Q-learning model to satisfy the QoS requirements of users and to achieve low energy consumption with the minimum number of active RRHs under varying traffic demand and network densities. Extensive simulations are conducted to show the effectiveness of our proposed solution compared to existing schemes.

  • The femtocell network, which is designed for low power transmission and consists of consumer installed small base stations, coexists with macrocells to exploit spatial reuse gain. For its realization, cross-tier interference mitigation is an important issue. To solve this problem, we propose a joint access and power control scheme that requires limited information exchange between the femto and macro networks. Our objective is to maximize the network throughput while satisfying each user's quality of service (QoS) requirement. To accomplish this, we first introduce two distributed interference detection schemes, i.e., the femto base station and macro user equipment based schemes. Then, the proposed scheme dynamically adjusts the transmission power and makes a decision on the access mode of each femto base station. Through extensive simulations, we show that the proposed scheme outperforms earlier works in terms of the throughput and outage probability.

  • It was already proved that ATM has stability and flexibility of service applications, but because of the various characteristics of traffic and the QoS on user demandcaused by them, there are so many researches for traffic control method. In this paper, in order to give the more similar properties of the real traffic to the existing input traffic source, dividing them into four classes with different characteristics, and We proposed the integrated dynamic priority method, IDP which has advantages of the DMLT and the DQLT for time dynamic priority. Thus, it makes input queues about each of traffic classes and thresholds, and then use modified DMLT and DQLT methods. It has goal that proposed method to get more reliability and stability with advantage low loss of the DMLT, low delay of DQLT.

  • Cognitive radio is an advanced technology for efficient utilization of under-utilized spectrum via spectrum sensing. CR users should move from current allocating channel to empty channel to avoid the interference to the primary user if the primary user is allocating that channel. Thus, CR system cannot support the CR user's QoS(Quaiity of Service). In this paper, we propose dynamic frequency selection method based on Genetic Algorithm with power control. It is to find the optimization channel for satisfying various CR user's needs with the power control method to minimize the CR user's interference to the primary user. And, we propose the Genetic Algorithm(GA) which determines the best configuration for CR communication systems. The computer simulation results show that the proposed method guaranteed the primary user's decodability and the optimized solution for various channel status.

  • As the recent rapid development of internet technology and the wide spread of multimedia communication, massive increase of network traffic causes some problems such as the lack of network paths and the bad quality of service. To resolve these problems, this paper presents a traffic control agent that can perform the dynamic resource allocation by controlling traffic flows on a DiffServ network. In addition, this paper presents a router that can support DiffServ on Linux to support selective QoS in IP network environment. To implement a method for selective traffic transmission based on priority on a DiffServ router, this paper changes the queuing discipline in Linux, and presents the traffic control agent so that it can efficiently control routers, efficiently allocates network resources according to service requests, and relocate resources in response to state changes of the network. Particularly for the efficient processing of Assured Forwarding(AF) Per Hop Behavior(PHB), this paper proposes an ACWF$^2$Q$^{+}$ packet scheduler on a DiffServ router to enhance the throughput of packet transmission and the fairness of traffic services.s.

  • In this paper, we propose the PON-based access network based on conventional TDM-PON architecture, which utilizes WDM wavelength channel and bandwidth dynamically. It is also described a dynamic MAC protocol in order to increase the number of subscribers and efficiency of resource utilization. Of particular importance in the proposed approach for MAC protocol is that the wavelength channel and time slot for up/downlink is dynamically allocated according to the required QoS level and the amount of data in data transmission, through the dedicated control channel between OLT and ONU. We evaluate the performance of average packet end-to-end delay in a statistical analysis and numerical analysis. In addition, through simulations with various traffic models, we verified the superior performance of the proposed approach by comparing with the results of other E-PONs.

  • Our problem is improvement of image quality because it is inevitable cell loss of image data when traffic congestion occurs. If cells are discarded indiscriminately in transmission of MPEG video data, it occurs severe degradation in quality of service(QOS). In this paper, to solve this problem, we propose two method. The first, we analyze the traffic characteristics of an MPEG encoder and generate high priority and low priority data stream. During network congestion, only the least low priority cells are dropped, and this ensures that the high priority cells are successfully transmitted, which, in turn, guarantees satisfactory QoS. In this case, the prioritization scheme for the encoder assigns components of the data stream to each priority level based on the value of a parameter ${\beta}$. The second, Number of high priority cells are increased when value of ${\beta}$ is large. It occurs the loss of high priority cell in the congestion. To prevent it, this paper is regulated to data stream rate as buffer occupancy with UPC controller. Therefore, encoder's bandwidth can be calculated renegotiation of the encoder and networks. In this paper, the encoder's bandwidth requirements are characterized by a usage parameter control (UPC) set consisting of peak rate, burstness, and sustained rate. An adaptive encoder rate control algorithm at the Networks Interface Card(NIC) computes the necessary UPC parameter to maintain the user specified quality of service. Simulation results are given for a rate-controlled VBR video encoder operating through an ATM network interface which supports dynamic UPC. These results show that dynamic bandwidth renegotiation of prioritized data stream could provided bandwidth saving and significant quality gains which guarantee high priority data stream.
