Considering that the weight of a biaxial hollow slab system is not increased with an incremental increase in its thickness, and that the flexural stiffness of a biaxial hollow slab is not significantly lower than that of a general solid slab, there has been a growing need for biaxial hollow slab systems, because long span structures are in great demand. In a long span structure, the problem of vibration of floor slabs frequently occurs, and the dynamic characteristics of a biaxial hollow slab system are quite different from the conventional floor systems. Therefore, in this study, the floor vibration of a biaxial hollow slab system subjected to walking load is investigated in comparison with a conventional floor slab system. For the efficiency of time history analysis, an equivalent plate slab model that can precisely represent the dynamic behavior of a biaxial hollow slab system is used. From the analytical results, it was determined that vibration of a biaxial hollow slab system subjected to walking load is evaluated as "office-level vibration," according to the classifications of the architectural institute of Japan and ANSI.

In this paper the response factor is investigated for middle and small size-RC slab aged bridges. The response factor consists of static and dynamic response factors and is a main parameter in the frequency based-bridge load carrying capacity prediction model. Static and dynamic response factors are determined based on the frequency variation and the impact factor variation respectively between current and previous (or design) states of bridges. Here, the impact factor variation is figured out using the impact factor response spectrum which provides the impact factor according to the natural frequency of bridges. In this study, four actual RC slab bridges aged over 30 years after construction are considered and their span length is 12m. The dynamic loading test in field using a dump truck and eigenvalue analysis with FE models are conducted to identify the current and previous (or design) state-natural frequencies of the bridges, respectively. For more realistic considerations in the moving loading situation, the impact factor response spectrum is developed based on tri-axle moving loads representing the dump truck load distribution and various supporting conditions such as simply supported and both ends fixed conditions. From the results, the response factor is widely ranged from 0.21to 0.91, showing that the static response factor contributes significantly on the results while the dynamic response factor has a small effect on the result. Compared to the results obtained from the impact factor response spectrum based on the single axle-simply supported condition, the maximum percentage difference of the response factors is below 3.2% only.

In this study, fluctuating wind velocity for time history analysis is simulated by a single variate, single-dimensional random process using the KBC2022 spectrum about across-wind direction. This study analyzed and obtained the inelastic dynamic response for structures modeled as a single-degree-of-freedom system. It is assumed that the wind response is excellent in the primary mode, the change in vibration owing to plasticization is minor, along-wind vibration and across-wind vibration are independent, and the effect of torsional vibration is small. The numerical results, obtained by the Newmark-𝛽 method, shows the time-history responses and trends of maximum displacements. As a result of analyzing the inelastic dynamic response of the structure with the second stiffness ratio(𝛼) and yield displacement ratio (𝛽) as variables, it is identified that as the yield displacement ratio (𝛽) increases when the second stiffness ratio is constant, the maximum displacement ratio decreases, then reaches a minimum value, and then increases. When the stiffness ratio is greater than 0.5, there is a yield point ratio at which the maximum displacement ratio is less than 1, indicating that the maximum deformation is reduced compared to the elastically designed building even if the inelastic behavior is permitted in the inelastic wind design.

In this study, a nonlinear dynamic analysis of a frame and single member, which reflect the characteristics of a plant facility, is performed using the commercial MIDAS GEN program and the results are analyzed. The general structural members and material properties of the plant are considered. The Newmark average-acceleration numerical-analysis method is applied to a plastic hinge to study material nonlinearity. The blast load of a vapor-cloud explosion, a representative plant explosion, is calculated, and nonlinear dynamic analysis is conducted on a frame and single member. The observed dynamic behavior is organized according to the ratio of natural period to load duration, maximum displacement, ductility, and rotation angle. The conditions and range under which the frame functions as a single member are analyzed and derived. NSFF with a beam-column stiffness ratio of 0.5 and ductility of 2.0 or more can be simplified and analyzed as FFC, whereas NSPF with a beam-column stiffness ratio of 0.5 and ductility of 1.5 or more can be simplified and analyzed as FPC. The results of this study can serve as guidelines for the blast-resistant design of plant facilities.
Statement of problem. Unreasonable distal cantilevered implant-supported prosthesis can mask functional problems of reconstruction temporarily, but it can cause serious strain and stress around its supported implant and surrounding alveolar bone. Purpose. The purpose of this study was to evaluate strain of implants supporting distal cantilevered fixed prosthesis with two different cantilevered length under distal cantilevered static load. Material and methods. A partially edentulous mandibular test model was fabricated with auto-polymerizing resin (POLYUROCK; Metalor technologies, Stuttgart, Swiss) and artificial denture teeth (Endura; Shofu inc., Kyoto, Japan). Two implants-supported 5-unit screw-retained cantilevered fixed prosthesis was made using standard methods with Type III gold alloy (Harmony C&B55; Ivoclar-vivadent, Liechtenstein, Germany) for superstructure and reinforced hard resin (Tescera; Ivoclar-vivadent, Liechtenstein, Germany) for occlusal material. Two strain gauges (KFG-1-120-C1-11L1M2R; KYOWA electronic instruments, Tokyo, Japan) were then attached to the mesial and the distal surface of each standard abutment with adhesive (M-bond 200; Tokuyama, Tokyo, Japan). Total four strain gauges were attached to test model and connected to dynamic signal conditioning strain amplifier (CTA1000; Curiotech inc., Paju, Korea). The stepped $20{\sim}100$ N in 25 N increments, cantilevered static load 8mm apart (Group I) or 16mm apart (Group II), were applied using digital push-pull gauge (Push-Pull Scale & Digital Force Gauge, Axis inc., Seoul, Korea). Each step was performed ten times and every strain signal was monitored and recorded. Results. In case of Group I, the strain values were surveyed by $80.7{\sim}353.8{\mu}m$ in Ch1, $7.5{\sim}47.9{\mu}m/m$ in Ch2, $45.7{\sim}278.6{\mu}m/m$ in Ch3 and $-212.2{\sim}718.7{\mu}m/m$ in Ch4 depending on increasing cantilevered static load. On the other hand, the strain values of Group II were surveyed by $149.9{\sim}612.8{\mu}m/m$ in Ch1, $26.0{\sim}168.5{\mu}m/m$ in Ch2, $114.3{\sim}632.3{\mu}m/m$ in Ch3, and $-323.2{\sim}-894.7{\mu}m/m$ in Ch4. Conclusion. A comparative statistical analysis using paired sample t-test about Group I Vs Group II under distal cantilevered load shows that there are statistical significant differences for all 4 channels (P<0.05).
Pubilc utility industries including the electric utility industry are facing a new stream of privatization com-petition with the private sector and deregulation. The necewssity to solve now and in the future power supply and demand problems has been increasing through the sophisticated generation expansion plan(GEP) approach con-sidering not only KEPCo's supply-side resources but also outside resources such as non-utility generation(NUG) demand-side management (DSM). Under the environmental situation in the current electric utility industry a new approach is needed to acquire multiple resources competitively. This study presents the development of a modified electric generation expansion analysis system(EGEAS) model with avoided cost based on the existing EGEAS model which is a dynamic program to develope an optimal generation expansion plan for the electric utility. We are trying to find optimal GEP in Korea's case using our modified model and observe the difference for the level of reliabilities such as the reserve margin(RM) loss of load probability(LOLP) and expected unserved energy percent(EUEP) between the existing EGEAS model and our model. In addition we are trying to calculate avoided cost for NUG resources which is a criterion to evaluate herem and test possibility of connection calculation of avoided cost with GEP implementation using our modified model. The results of our case study are as follows. First we were able to find that the generation expansion plan and reliability measures were largely influenced by capacity size and loading status of NUG resources, Second we were able to find that avoided cost which are criteria to evaluate NUG resources could be calculated by using our modified EGEAS model with avoided cost. We also note that avoided costs were calculated by our model in connection with generation expansion plans.

This Paper described the simulation program development for helicopter. In the design of flight control system to accomplish some special missions like UAV, it is important to minimize the execution time obtaining a linear model from nonlinear model that is used for design of controller. The first step for this kind of purpose is to complete a nonlinear model that contains full dynamic characteristics. The second step is to get the trim values that are obtained from the nonlinear model by solving an algebraic equation. And then stability and control derivatives are derived through hovering to forward flight by numerical perturbation that will be used for linear model for a specified flight condition. The software program(HeliSim) is developed by using MATLAB GUI and will provide easy modeling procedure. The suggested method in this paper is much more simpler than any other method like a fully scale helicopter model. The advantage of our suggested method will reduce the computational time due to simple formula to extract a linear model from nonlinear model that will be beneficially used for flight control system of unmanned helicopter by some reduction of computational load.

It is critical to forecast the maximum daily and monthly demand for power with as little error as possible for our industry and national economy. In general, long-term forecasting of power demand has been studied from both the consumer's perspective and an econometrics model in the form of a generalized linear model with predictors. Time series techniques are used for short-term forecasting with no predictors as predictors must be predicted prior to forecasting response variables and containing estimation errors during this process is inevitable. In previous researches, seasonal exponential smoothing method, SARMA (Seasonal Auto Regressive Moving Average) with consideration to weekly pattern Neuron-Fuzzy model, SVR (Support Vector Regression) model with predictors explored through machine learning, and K-means clustering technique in the various approaches have been applied to short-term power supply forecasting. In this paper, SARMA and intervention model are fitted to forecast the maximum power load daily, weekly, and monthly by using the empirical data from 2011 through 2013. $ARMA(2,\;1,\;2)(1,\;1,\;1)_7$ and $ARMA(0,\;1,\;1)(1,\;1,\;0)_{12}$ are fitted respectively to the daily and monthly power demand, but the weekly power demand is not fitted by AREA because of unit root series. In our fitted intervention model, the factors of long holidays, summer and winter are significant in the form of indicator function. The SARMA with MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error) of 2.45% and intervention model with MAPE of 2.44% are more efficient than the present seasonal exponential smoothing with MAPE of about 4%. Although the dynamic repression model with the predictors of humidity, temperature, and seasonal dummies was applied to foretaste the daily power demand, it lead to a high MAPE of 3.5% even though it has estimation error of predictors.

The Agricultural Policy/Environmental eXtender (APEX) model was developed to extend EPIC's capabilities of simulating land management impacts for small-medium watershed and heterogeneous farms. APEX is a flexible and dynamic tool that is capable of simulating a wide array of management practices, cropping systems, and other land uses across a broad range of agricultural landscapes. APEX have its own agricultural environmental database including operation schedule, soil property, and weather data etc., by crops. However, agriculture environmental informations the APEX model has is all based on U.S. As this can cause malfunction or improper simulation while simulating highland field. In this study, database for APEX model to be utilized for South Korea established with 44,814 agriculture fields in Pyeongchang-gun, Korea from 2007 to 2016. And assessed domestic applicability by comparing T-P unit load criteria presented by National Institution of Environmental Research and result of APEX model. As a result of APEX model simulation, average T-P value for decade was 6.18. Average T-P of every year except 2011 was in range of 5.37~10.43 and this is being involved into criteria presented by National Institution of Environmental Research. It is analyzed that adjusting slope factor can make the model applicable for domestic agricultural environment.

In this paper, the effects of the film tinckness, pre-treatment and testing load on. the tribological characteristics have been studied. During the "Ring on-Disk" testing period silica-gel was used to remove the effect of humidity. As a result, increasing the film thickness revealed prolonged wear life, in the case or reasl the testing loads the dynamic friction coefficient was decreased gradually but in regarding the wear life, an intermideate contact pressure (4kgf/mm${2}$) revealed the maximum value. In regarding the surface protuberance friction an intermediate value of area fraction (60%) revealed maximum wear life. In this paper, the qualitative model in regarding the variation of the friction coefficient andworn depth was presented.presented.
