포장 프로파일이 포장 피로수명에 미치는 영향 분석 (Effect of Surface Profiles on Pavement Fatigue Life)

  • 본 논문에서는 아스팔트 콘크리트 포장의 표층 프로파일과 차량특성인 차량속도와 현가장치를 다르게 하여 트럭 시뮬레이션 프로그램을 통한 동적하중을 분석하였다. 다양한 포장 상태의 프로파일을 입력하여 동적하중을 분석하였으며 프로파일, 차량의 현가장치, 차량속도에 따른 동적하중 변화를 분석하였다. 포장 거칠기가 증가할수록 동적하중이 증가하였으며, 속도가 증가할 수 록 동일한 포장 거칠기 하에서 동적하중이 증가하였다. Walking beam 현가장치가 Air spring 현가장치에 비해 더 큰 동적하중을 보였다. 동적하중 공분산을 이용하여 포장파손 지수를 결정하였으며, 동적하중 공분산과 신뢰도, 아스팔트 혼합물의 파괴매개변수가 증가할 수록 포장파손지수도 증가하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 이용하여 차량속도와 표층 아스팔트 혼합물 파괴특성에 근거한 포장 평탄성 규정에 이용할 수 있으며, 아스팔트 콘크리트 포장 시공 후 포장 평탄성에 근거한 지불규정에 효과적으로 사용할 수 있다고 판단된다.

고하중용 버킷 롤러체인 시스템의 다물체 동역학 해석 및 내구성 연구 (Study on Multibody Dynamic Analysis and Durability of Heavy Load Bucket Roller Chain System)

  • In this study, multibody dynamic and mechanical analyses were conducted for the structure of roller chain bucket elevator system. The fatigue life of the roller chain elevator system was determined under static and fatigue loadings. Results of multibody dynamic analysis suggested that the maximum contact force occurred at the drive sprocket engagement point with the roller chain due to maximum tension. Fatigue analysis results suggest that the high load roller chain system is durable and safe because its life time is more than 700,000 cycles, close to its designed value (1,000,000 cycle). However, the contact portion of plate and pin needed a safety factor. The dynamic analysis of the heavy load roller chain was conducted with a multibody dynamic analysis program. The results obtained in this study can be utilized for dynamic analysis of roller chain systems in all industries.

Improved definition of dynamic load allowance factor for highway bridges

  • The main objective of this paper is to study the dynamic load allowance (DLA) calculation methods for bridges according to the dynamic response curve. A simply-supported concrete bridge with a smooth road surface was taken as an example. A half-vehicle model was employed to calculate the dynamic response of deflection and bending moment in the mid-span section under different vehicle speeds using the vehicle-bridge coupling method. Firstly, DLAs from the conventional methods and code provisions were analyzed and critically evaluated. Then, two improved computing approaches for DLA were proposed. In the first approach, the maximum dynamic response and its corresponding static response or its corresponding minimum response were selected to calculate DLA. The second approach utilized weighted average method to take account of multi-local DLAs. Finally, the DLAs from two approaches were compared with those from other methods. The results show that DLAs obtained from the proposed approaches are greater than those from the conventional methods, which indicate that the current conventional methods underestimate the dynamic response of the structure. The authors recommend that the weighted average method based on experiments be used to compute DLAs because it can reflect the vehicle's whole impact on the bridge.

Dynamic response of size-dependent porous functionally graded beams under thermal and moving load using a numerical approach

  • Based on differential quadrature method (DQM) and nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT), forced vibrations of a porous functionally graded (FG) scale-dependent beam in thermal environments have been investigated in this study. The nanobeam is assumed to be in contact with a moving point load. NSGT contains nonlocal stress field impacts together with the microstructure-dependent strains gradient impacts. The nano-size beam is constructed by functionally graded materials (FGMs) containing even and un-even pore dispersions within the material texture. The gradual material characteristics based upon pore effects have been characterized using refined power-law functions. Dynamical deflections of the nano-size beam have been calculated using DQM and Laplace transform technique. The prominence of temperature rise, nonlocal factor, strain gradient factor, travelling load speed, pore factor/distribution and elastic substrate on forced vibrational behaviors of nano-size beams have been explored.

  • Dynamic loading of structures often causes excursions of stresses well into the inelastic range and the influence of geometric changes on the dynamic response is also significant in many cases. Therefore, both material and geometric nonlinearity effects should be considered in case that a dynamic load acts on the structure. For developing a program to analyze the dynamic response of an axisymmetric shell in this study, the material nonlinearity effect on the dynamic response was formulated by the elasto-viscoplastic model highly corresponding to the real behavior of the material. Also, the geometrically nonlinear behavior is taken into account using a total Lagrangian coordinate system, and the equilibrium equation of motion was numerically solved by a central difference scheme. A complete finite element program has been developed and the results obtained by it are compared with those in the references 1 and 2. The results are in good agreement with each other. As a case study of its application, the developed program was applied to a dynamic response analysis of a nuclear reinforced concrete containment structure. The results obtained from the' numerical examples are summarized as follows : 1. The dynamic magnification factor of the displacement and the stress were unrelated with the concrete strength. 2. As shown by the results that the displacement dynamic magnification factor were form 1.7 to 2.3 and the stress dynamic magnification factor from 1.8 to 2.5, the dynamic magnification factor of stress were larger than that of displacement. 3. The dynamic magnification factor of stress on the exterior surface was larger than that on the interior surface of the structure.

  • The most important element is a rise ratio when regarding beauty and economics of arch bridges. Only the effect of dead load has been considered to decide the rise ratio. In this study, when going over the rise ratio of arch bridges, examined the problems, that the determination of the rise ratio by the dead load has, by adding the factor of a determination of optimum rise ratio, which is not only the effect of the dead load that has been currently considered but also the problem with respect to wind resistant dynamic stability that is now taken seriously. Synthetically, when deciding rise ratio that is investigated in basic step of design, it is not necessary to consider the evaluation wind resistant dynamic stability.

  • High-speed railway bridges subject to effect of dynamic loads by interaction between vehicle load which run specially fast and behavior of bridges.   • It is common to assum identical allowable safety factors in static strength, defined by mean stress and in fatigue, defined by stress amplitude. Under the load with asymmetrical cycles the safety factor is not the same. In this paper, with the consideration of unequal allowable safety factors a general method for estimating fatigue reliability of a machine element under a combined state of stress is derived based on the theory proposed by Prof. Kececioglu and normal distribution. The calculation of fatigue reliability for limited life is discussed with example.

충격계수 응답스펙트럼을 이용한 단경간 교량의 내하력 평가 (Load Carrying Capacity Evaluation of Single Span Bridge using Impact Factor Response Spectrum)

  • 이전 연구에서 기존의 재하실험을 통한 교량의 공용 중 내하력 평가방법을 개선하기 위하여 충격계수 응답스펙트럼과 그에 따른 내하성능 변화 추정 방법이 제안되었다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 방법의 적용성을 검증하기 위하여 공용 중인 단순지지 단경간 교량에 대한 현장 동적특성 평가 실험을 수행하였다. 실험을 통해 상시 교통하중 상태에서 무선 가속도계를 이용하여 교량의 고유진동수 도출이 가능한 수준의 동특성 응답을 획득할 수 있었다. 대상 교량의 가속도 데이터로부터 동적거동은 1차 모드에 지배되며 준공 당시에 비해 공용 기간의 증가로 인해 고유진동수가 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 충격계수 응답스펙트럼으로부터 대상 교량의 발생 가능한 최대 충격계수를 추정하였다. 도출된 이전 및 현재의 고유진동수와 충격계수를 바탕으로 성능감소계수를 적용한 내하력 평가방법을 이용하여 성능변화를 추정하였다. 이전에 비해 공용내하력이 감소하였으나 설계 활하중을 상회하여 내하성능에는 문제가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 상시 교통하중 하에서의 가속도 계측 데이터와 충격계수 응답스펙트럼을 이용하는 제안된 내하성능 변화 추정 방법은 실제 교량에 적용 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

Load Balancing Strategy for P2P VoD Systems

  • In a P2P (Peer-to-Peer) VoD (video-on-Demand) streaming system, the nodes' load is an important factor which affects the system performance. In the system, some nodes may receive too many requests, which leads to overload. On the other hand, some other nodes may receive too few requests, which leads to low utilization. Therefore, designing a reasonable load balancing strategy is important. However, existing related studies cannot handle this problem effectively, because they don't have an efficient dynamic load information management mechanism, and they don't distinguish the difference of requests when transfer the nodes' load. In this paper, to manage the dynamic load information efficiently, we design a load management table for each node. Based on the load information, we propose a load balancing strategy which uses a request migration algorithm (LBRM). Through simulations, our scheme can handle the load imbalance problem effectively and improve the users' playback fluency.
