  • In ubiquitous computer environment, by improving the computer's access to context information for dynamic service adaptation, we can increase richness of communication in human computer interaction and make it possible to produce more useful computational services. We need new data structure in order to flexible apply dynamic information to current context information repository and enhance the communication ability between human and computer. In this paper, we proposed to C-A-V (Category-Attribute-Value) context metadata structure required to support dynamic service adaptation for increasing communication ability in user-centric environments. We also classify the context metadata, as well as define its relationship with other context information on the basis of the application services, changes in the external environments.

  • Recommendation systems provide users with proper services using context information being input from many sensors occasionally under ubiquitous computing environment. But in case there isn't sufficient context information for service recommendation in spite of much context information, there can be problems of resulting in inexact result. In addition, in the quantification step to use context information, there are problems of classifying context information inexactly because of using an absolute classification course. In this paper, we solved the problem of lack of necessary context information for service recommendation by using dynamic profile information. We also improved the problem of absolute classification by using a relative classification of context information in quantification step. As the result of experiments, expectation preference degree was improved by 7.5% as compared with collaborative filtering methods using an absolute quantification method where context information of P2P mobile agent is used.

  • Recently interest in Internet of Things(IoT) has attracted significant attention at national level. IoT can create new services as a technology to exchange data through connections among a huge number of objects around the user. Data communication between objects provides not only information collected in the surrounding environment but also various personalized information. IoT services which provide these various types of data are exposed to numerous security vulnerabilities. If data is maliciously collected and used by an attacker in an IoT environment that deals with various data, security threats are greater than those in existing network environments. Therefore, security of all data exchanged in the IoT environment is essential. However, lightweight terminal devices used in the IoT environment are not suitable for applying the existing encryption algorithm. In addition, IoT networks consisting of many sensors require group communication. Therefore, this paper proposes a secure multicast scheme using the proxy re-encryption method based on Vehicular ad-hoc networks(VANET) environment. The proposed method is suitable for a large-scale dynamic IoT network environment using unreliable servers.

  • EDISON ( EDucation-research Integration through Simulation On the Net) is a web simulation service based on cloud compu-ting. EDISON provides that web service and provide analysis result to users through pre-built infrastructure and various calcu-lation nodes computational science engineering problems that are difficult or impossible to analysis as user's personal resources to users. As a result, a simulation execution environment is provided in a web portal environment so that EDISON can be ac-cessed regardless of a user's device or operating system to perform computational science engineering analysis simulation. The purpose of this research is to design and construct a workbench based real - time dynamic service to provide an integrat-ed user interface to the EDSION system, which is a computational science engineering simulation and analysis platform, which is currently provided to users. We also devised a workbench-based user simulation service environment configuration. That has a user interface that is similar to the computational science engineering simulation software environment used locally. It can configure a dynamic web environment such as various analyzers, preprocessors, and simulation software. In order to provide these web services, the service required by the user is configured in portlet units, and as a result, the simulation service using the workbench is constructed.

  • This paper describes a Web search optimization study that investigates both static and dynamic tuning methods for optimizing system performance. We extended the conventional fusion approach by introducing the "dynamic tuning" process with which to optimize the fusion formula that combines the contributions of diverse sources of evidence on the Web. By engaging in iterative dynamic tuning process, where we successively fine-tuned the fusion parameters based on the cognitive analysis of immediate system feedback, we were able to significantly increase the retrieval performance. Our results show that exploiting the richness of Web search environment by combining multiple sources of evidence is an effective strategy.

  • Cloud provides dynamically scalable virtualized computing resources as a service over the Internet. To achieve higher resource utilization over virtualization technology, an optimized strategy that deploys virtual machines on physical machines is needed. That is, the total number of active physical host nodes should be dynamically changed to correspond to their resource usage rate, thereby maintaining optimum utilization of physical machines. In this paper, we propose a pattern-based prediction model for resource provisioning which facilitates best possible resource preparation by analyzing the resource utilization and deriving resource usage patterns. The focus of our work is on predicting future resource requests by optimized dynamic resource management strategy that is applied to a virtualized data center in a Cloud computing environment. To this end, we build a prediction model that is based on user request patterns and make a prediction of system behavior for the near future. As a result, this model can save time for predicting the needed resource amount and reduce the possibility of resource overuse. In addition, we studied the performance of our proposed model comparing with conventional resource provisioning models under various Cloud execution conditions. The experimental results showed that our pattern-based prediction model gives significant benefits over conventional models.

  • Skyline queries are an important new search capability for multi-dimensional databases. Most of the previous works have focused on processing skyline queries over static data set. However, most of the real applications deal with the dynamic data set. Since dynamic data set constantly changes as time passes, the continuous skyline computation over dynamic data set becomes ever more complicated. In this paper, we propose a multiple layer grids method for continuous skyline computation (MLGCS) that maintains multiple layer grids to manage the dynamic data set. The proposed method divides the work space into multiple layer grids and creates the skyline influence region in the grid of each layer. In the continuous environment, the continuous skyline queries are only handled when the updating data points are in the skyline influence region of each layer grid. Experiments based on various data distributions show that our proposed method outperforms the existing methods.

  • With the remarkable growth in rich media in recent years, people are increasingly exposed to visual information from the environment. Visual information continues to play a vital role in rich media because people's real interests lie in dynamic information. This paper proposes a novel discrete dynamic swarm optimization (DDSO) algorithm for video object tracking using invariant features. The proposed approach is designed to track objects more robustly than other traditional algorithms in terms of illumination changes, background noise, and occlusions. DDSO is integrated with a matching procedure to eliminate inappropriate feature points geographically. The proposed novel fitness function can aid in excluding the influence of some noisy mismatched feature points. The test results showed that our approach can overcome changes in illumination, background noise, and occlusions more effectively than other traditional methods, including color-tracking and invariant feature-tracking methods.

  • Technological encroachment provides human operators with flood of information that must be analyzed to understand the environment and make judgments that lead to strategic actions. Further, the environment is not static and therefore uncertain, changing its aspect dynamically. Complexity accompanied with its dynamics imposes substantial difficulty to human operators' task. Criticality of having situational understanding becomes more important than ever. Situationalunderstanding requires the human operators possessing tacit knowledge in order for them to make the sense out of the situation while interacting with information from many heterogeneous sources, the notion of sensemaking. Sensemaking refers to the process of developing mental framework to assemble pieces of information representing different aspects of the environment that can be used to develop one's own actionable knowledge to implement their judgments in the uncertain environment. Therefore, judgment process and performance is a key component of sensemaking process. Among many judgment and decision making models, the lens model with its extension can be utilized to partially describe the judgmental aspect of sensemaking. One of the lens model parameters, unmodeled knowledge, can be a corresponding quantitative measure for the tacit knowledge that plays an important role in sensemaking. In this paper, a comprehensive literature for sensemaking is provided to formally define the notion of sensemaking in the military domain. Also, it is proposed that there is a crucial link between the sensemaking and human judgment process and performance from the lens model perspective. Potential implications for experimental framework are also proposed.

  • To solve the policy problem between transportation and environment in trade-offs, above all, it is necessary to understand the complicated relationship between transportation and environment clearly before selecting policy alternatives. From this point of view, this study will propose the logic structure to examine the complex interaction of transportation and environment and investigate theoretically what kinds of impact would appear by the air related polices. In this research, we used ’system-dynamics’ which investigates the complexity through the flow of information and materials and the interaction of elements, which constitutes systems. System Dynamics is an approach that the variables to decide structural relationship in a system affect one another not in only-way but in inter-way and the power of influence changes time by time. This research is trying to examine the complex interaction of transportation and air pollution. For achieving this purpose, causal maps in System Dynamics approach were used. The main issues are as follows; first, to investigate the dynamic relationship between transportation and air pollution caused by exhaust emission gas. Second, to structuralize the logic of simulation to experiment the impacts of policies to relieve air pollution.
