The configuration of design technology in 21st century must require collaborative design system, in which distributed design organizations and their related enterprises can mutually cooperate by overcoming time and regional restictions, and by exactily exchanging and sharing desing data. To achieve these objectives, it is necessary that the design system can propery deal with the dynamic change between regionally distributed modules. In this paper, we will discuss developing the dynamic virtual collaborative design system based on WWW by implementing recent web technologies such as Java and VRML.

Stadium stand could be led to significant dynamic response due to rhythmical activities of spectator. The dynamic loads induced by spectators movements are considered as static loads in design standard of many countries but these loads have dynamic characteristics. So, it is desirable to apply measured dynamic loads created by spectator activities and to analyze the dynamic behavior of stadium system. The precise investigation of the dynamic loads on stadium structures and the accurate analysis of dynamic behavior of stadium systems are demanded for effective design. As the floor mesh of stadium stand is refined, the number of nodes increase in numerical analysis. So it is difficult to analyze entire stadium structures and much more computer memory are necessary for vibration analysis of stadium system. In this study, the various dynamic loads induced by spectator movements are measured and analyzed. And new modeling method that reduce the nodal points of stadium systems are introduced. Vibration analysis of stadium system is executed to inspect the accuracy and the efficiency of proposed method in this paper.
In a vacuum circuit breaker mechanism, a spring-actuated linkage system is used to satisfy the desired opening and closing characteristics of electric contacts. Because the opening and the closing dynamics of electric contacts is determined by such a linkage system, the stiffness, free length and attachment points of a spring become the important design parameters. In this paper, based on the dynamic model of the circuit breaker using a multibody dynamic program ADAMS, a optimal design procedure of determining the spring design parameters is presented. The proposed procedure is applied to the design of an opening spring for satisfying the specified opening characteristics.
Most of high-rise buildings in Japan*1 are structure with damping systems recently. The design procedure is performance-based design (PBD), which is based on the nonlinear response history procedure (NRHP) using 2 or 3-dimentional frame model. In addition, hysteretic property of steel plates or velocity-dependent property of viscous dampers are common practice for the damping system. However, for the selection of damping system, the easy dynamic analysis of recent date may lead the most of engineers to focus attention on the maximum response only without thinking how it shakes. By nature, the seismic design shall be to figure out the action of inertia forces by complex & dynamic loads including periodic and pulse-like characteristics, what we call seismic ground motion. And it shall be done under the dynamic condition. On the contrary, we engineers engineers have constructed the easy-to-use static loads and devoted ourselves to handle them. The structures with damping system shall be designed considering how the stiffness & damping to be applied to the structures against the inertia forces with the viewpoint of dynamic aspect. In this paper we reconsider the role of damping in vibration and give much thought to the basic of shake with damping from a standpoint of structural design. Then, we present some design examples based on them.

In the area of assembly process of micro-chips and electronic parts on the printed circuit board, surface mounting device(SMD) is used as a fundamental tool. Generally speaking, the motion of the SMD is based on the ball screw system operated by any type of actuators. The ball screw system is a mechanical transformed which converts the mechanical rotational motion to the translational one. Also, this system could be considered as an efficient motion device against mechanical backlash and friction. Therefore a dynamic modeling and state sensitivity analysis of the ball screw system in SMD have to be done in the initial design stage. In this paper, a simple mathematical dynamic model for this system and the sensit- ivity analysis are mentioned. Especially, the bond graph approach is used for graphical modeling of the dynamic system before analysis stage. And the direct differentiation method is used for the state sensit- ivity analysis of the system. Finally, some trends for the state variables with respect to the design variables could be suggested for the better design and faster operating based on the results of dynamic and state sensitivity.
Purpose: Recently, renewable energy system has been widely used to reduce the energy consumption and CO2 emission of building. A photovoltaic/thermal(PVT) system is a kind of efficient energy uses, which is combined with photovoltaic module and solar thermal collector. PVT system removes heat from PV module by through thermal fluid to raise the performance efficiency of the PV system. However, though PVT system has the merit of the improved efficiency in theoretical approach, there have been few performance analysis for PVT system using the dynamic energy simulation. In this study, in order to establish the optimum design method of this system, simulation was conducted by using individual system modules. Method: For the dynamic simulation, TRNSYS17 was used and local weather data was utilized. Furthermore, the system performance in various installation condition was calculated by case studies. Result: As a result, the amount of electric generation and heat production in each case was found by the simulation. The gap of system performance was also evident according to the installation condition.
This paper presents a method of optimal design of an automatic transfer system which is controlled by the electro-pneumatic servo scheme. The electro-pneumatic automatic transfer system can move parts to desired points or displace defective parts. The dynamic performance of the system can be examined by observing the behavior of the output. The output of the servo control system is the motion of the cylinder, pneumatic actuator. The dynamic performance of the cylinder is governed by the parameters of the components of the entire system. The optimal design can be accomplished by selecting of the parameters such that the desired dynamic performance of the cylinder is obtained. The optimal set of parameters might be obtained through the repeated simulations. Repeated simulations, however, is not effective to determine the optimal set of parameters since the set of parameters is large. This paper presents modeling, application of an optimization method, and the numerical results. The optimization algorithm utilizes the concept of the conjugate gradient method. The results show that the suggested optimization scheme can render faster convergence of iteration compared to other method based on an algebraic optimization method and can reduce the design efforts.

Dynamic update of kernel can change kernel functionality and fix bugs in runtime. Dynamic update is important because it leverages availability, reliability and flexibility of kernel. An instruction-granularity update technique has been used for dynamic update. However, it is difficult to apply update technique for a commodity operating system kernel because development and maintenance of update code must be performed with assembly language. To overcome this difficulty, we design the function-granularity dynamic update system which uses high-level language such as C language. The proposed update system makes the development and execution of update convenient by providing the development environment for update code which is same for kernel development. We implement this system for Linux and demonstrate an example of update for do_coredump() function which is reported it has a vulnerable point for security. The update was successfully executed.

In this study, 3 dimensional non-linear race car vehicle model including Chassis, steering and suspension systems were modeled by using Multi-Body Dynamics Simulation Program, DADS 9.5(Dynamic Analysis and Design System),which was used in kinematic and dynamic analysis. A full race car vehicle dynamics model using DADS program was presented and analysis was carried out to estimate the handling characteristics that may be very useful to design a race car in early design stage. The simulation of vehicle handling behavior for step steering input was simulated and compared with different design parameters: torsional stiffness of the front and rear anti roll bars, the motion ratio of the front and rear suspension system, the location of the tie rod joint, in multibody dynamic model. Therefore this simulation model before race car construction in early design step will be helpful for race car designer to save time and limited budget.

This paper deals with the lateral dynamic model of an all-wheel steered articulated vehicle to design a guidance controller. Nonlinear dynamic model of articulated vehicle is developed by complementing the model about the BRT system of California PATH in U. S. A. and the Phileas system of the APTS in Netherlands. Linear lateral dynamic model has been derived from the nonlinear dynamic model under some assumptions associated with the driving conditions. To design a guidance controller, we derive a transfer function that is steering angle as input and lateral acceleration as output from the linear lateral dynamic model by applying the parameter of vehicle that is developed by Korea Railroad Research Institute. To validate the dynamic model, nonlinear dynamic model has been compared with a vehicle model that has been programmed in ADAMS, and linear dynamic model has been compared with a nonlinear dynamic model under sime assumptions.
