Glass forming ranges in the AlF3-(Mg+Sr+Ba)F2-P2O5 system are studied and ultraviolet transmission, infrared transmission, coefficient of refractive index, thermal expansion coefficient, density and chemical durability of the glasses are determined. Glass forming range is restricted MgF2 0-10wt%, SrF2 10-50wt%, BaF2 10-40wt% in this system. While BaF2 is substituted by SrF2, density and refractive index are decreased, micro hardness and thermal expansion coefficient are increased according to the increasing of SrF2 at fixed MgF2 contents. These samples represent high transmittance(93%) from 400nm to 3800nm and chemical durability of these samples show less than 0.3mg/$\textrm{cm}^2$$.$hy by weightloss.
Wood-plastic composites (WPCs) composed of mainly wood flour and thermoplastics have attracted considerable attentions due to advantages of cost effectiveness, high durability, and microbial resistance. However, relatively poor fire resistance of WPCs from low thermal stability of wood and plastics prevents further uses. This study investigated the effect of expandable graphite (EG) and aluminium hydroxide (AH)/magnesium hydroxide (MH) on the properties of WPCs. The combined incorporation of both EG and metal hydroxide (i.e., AH or MH) into formulations leads to higher flexural modulus of filled composites compared to neat PP and WPC. In thermal properties, EG played an important role in improving thermal stability of filled composites by suppressing thermal decompositions of wood and PP. Moreover, EG showed better water absorption features. From this research, it can be said that EG and metal hydroxides have potentials as effective reinforcement, flame retardant, and moisture barrier.
The glass-forming conditions are investigated in the $K_2$O-CaO-$SiO_2$$-P_2$$O_{5}$ system with 10~65 mole% of$ P_2$$O_{5}$. Thermal properties and dissolution properties were investigated according to variation of the SiO and KO contents in selected compositions. The glass formation condition was determined when $K_2$O/$P_2$$O_{5}$ mole ratio 0~0.24, $SiO_2$/($SiO_2$+$P_2$$O_{5}$ ) mole ratio 0~0.29, and CaO/$P_2$$O_{5}$ mole ratio 0~1.00. In the result of the thermal properties, the glass transition temperature($T_{g}$) and softening temperature($T_{s}$ ) were gradually shifted to the lower temperature range with increase of $K_2$O contents. The maximum value of the chemical durability was shown in $K_2$$PO_2$$O_{5}$ mole ratio 0.17 when the $SiO_2$ contents were changed, and $K_2$O was fixed at 10 mole%. Hence the change of the $K_2$O/$P_2$$O_{5}$ mole ratio was found that a new main factor of the chemical durability.

The surface properties of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) were investigated after accelerated weathering. Glossinesses, contact angles, surface free energies, thermal stability, and mechanical properties were investigated. The glossiness of the weathered PMMA was decreased with increasing exposure time. Contact angles and surface free energies were not overtly changed because the amount of oxygen on the surface was remained. PMMA was compounded with anti-block and antistatic agents using a co-rotating twin screw extruder to improve the durability. The PMMA composites showed better glossinesses after accelerated weathering while maintaining the contact angles, surface energy, thermal stability, and mechanical properties without significant changes.
This research was to evaluate the shrinkage and durability performance of latex modified repair mortar and to improve the service lift of the agricultural concrete structures. The shrinkage characteristics of the repair material creates the delamination of repair materials and existing concrete. It may reduce the service life of structures. Also the reduction of durability performance of the repair materials induces the destruction of the repaired concrete structures at early stage. In this research, plastic and drying shrinkage, thermal expansion coefficient for shrinkage properties, durability performance, permeability, repeated freezing and thawing, and resistance of chemical solution test were performed. Test results showed that the latex modified repair mortar indicated the shrinkage amount which the delamination does not happen, and the latex modified repair mortar appeared excellent long-term durability performance which can increase the service life.
Recently, owing to the development of industry and the improvement of building techniques, the concrete structure is becoming larger and higher. In hardening these large concrete, the heat of hydration gives rise to considerable thermal stress depending on the size and environmental condition of concrete, which might cause thermal cracking. Especially, the crack may cause severe damage to the safety and the durability of concrete structure. This study is investigated the thermal properties of concrete according to several binder conditions, such as OPC, Belite rich cement(BRC), slag cement(SC), blast furnace slag (BFS) added cement, fly ash added cement and BFS-fly ash added cement. As a result of this study, the concrete made with BRC, fly ash($25\%$) added cement and BFS($35\%$)-fly ash($15\%$) added cement gets superior effect in the control of heat hydration.

Especially, the crack may cause severe damage to the safety and the durability of concrete structure. This study is investigated the thermal properties of concrete according to several binder conditions, such as OPC, Belite Rich Cement(BRC), Low-Heat-Mixed Cement(LHC), Fly ash added cement. As a result of this study, the Flowability of concrete was beetter with BRC and LHC than FA(25) and OPC. On the other hand, LHC gets superior effect in the control of heat hydration, it's caused by the volume of OPC.
As consciousness of safety becomes an important social issue, the demand for protective clothing is increasing. Conventional flame-retardant cotton working wear has low durability, and working wear with m-aramid fibers are stiff, heavy, less permeable, and expensive. In this study, recycled m-aramid and cotton have been blended to produce woven fabric of different compositions to enhance high performance and comfort to solve aforementioned problems. The fabrics were analyzed according to constituents and various structural factors. Mechanical properties were measured using KES-FB system. The measured thermal properties are TGA, $Q_{max}$, TPP and RPP. Fabric with polyurethane yarn covered by m-aramid/cotton spun yarn is observed to have good wearability. The fabric of open end spun yarn showed more stiffness than that of ring spun yarn. The sample with the high count of yarn has more smooth surface. In addition, high m-aramid content fabric is considered to have relatively high stiffness when using as clothing. In TGA the fabric with higher m-aramid content showed more stable decomposition behavior. The fabric having rough surface showed lower heat transfer properties in $Q_{max}$. The influence of the fabric thickness was important in convection and radiant heat test.
Agricultural cultivation papers treated with water repellent were investigated in order to analyse mechanical properties and durability. The water repellency was optimal when papers are treated with Wb and Sa water repellents. Also, WCPs with 5% water repellent were more effective than those of 3 and 10%. In addition, water repellency of WCPs with Wb and Sa water repellents were kept constant in correlation with aging time. Finally, WCP with Wb water repellent possesses efficiency in terms of mechanical properties and durability.
