Conventionally, SMAW process was applied to join pipes of RCL, which caused lot of loss in time and cost due to excessive heat input and defects in joining section. Recently, narrow-gap welding(NGW) process was introduced to overcome the disadvantages of SMAW. However, the application of NGW to nuclear power plant is not yet common because safety of NGW process is not proven. In present paper, the welded coupons are made of carbon steel. They are manufactured under different processes; general welding(GW), post-weld heat treatment(PWHT) after GW, repair welding after GW and PWHT with repair welding after GW in carbon steel. Performed are various mechanical tests investigation of microstructure, hardness test, tensile test at room and high temperature, bending test, impact test and J-R test. It is verified that the mechanical properties of carbon steel are greatly changed after repair welding process due to applied heat flux, and that the effect of PWHT is beneficial.

As a basic machining process, turning is a widely used machining process in which a single-point cutting tool removes material from the surface of a rotating material. A common method of evaluating machining performance is to measure the surface roughness. In a turning operation, it is important to select cutting conditions for achieving high cutting performance. As a rule, cutting conditions can be classified into feed rate, depth of cut and insert radius. While cutting process even though cutting conditions are optimized, the average roughness can be deterioration due to wear of the cutting tool edge. In this study, the aim is to maintain the average roughness even though the cutting condition is irregularly changing within the predictable range due to the working environment. First, the surface roughness model influenced by cutting conditions is constructed based on the experimental results in a turning operation, Second, applying the sliding mode control theory to the turning operation model which is composed of the surface roughness model and the motor transfer function, the surface roughness is closed to the desired value. Finally, the effectiveness of this approach is demonstrated through the computer simulation.

Many processing times for fabricating complex shaped parts by near net shape process such as thixoforming or semi-solid forming, are required due to the time for die design, induction heating and forming process. Therefore, for the thixoforming process, multi-capacity induction heating process is very important due to the reduction of the processing time and cost. It is indispensable to adopt a power-time heating pattern which manages to conciliate complete eutectic melting at the core with limited overheating at the periphery. The total reheating time is thus dependent on billet diameter; in inches$(pm20%)$. Typically, high frequency is used for the rapid reheating of the billet to the eutectic temperature range and low frequency for the remelting of the desired fraction of liquid and for the radial homogeneization of the liquid fraction. So in this study, the multi-capacity induction heating conditions of ALTHIX 86s alloy to reduce the processing time and cost would be proposed. The suitability of multi-capacity induction heating conditions would be verified through the comparison to Garat's data.
The application of helical gears in crucial parts of automotive transmissions has been steadily increasing due to their higher power transfer performance compared to spur gears. However, the traditional gear manufacturing methods such as hobbing and deburring require large cycle times with expensive production lines so that there have been intensive efforts trying to manufacture gears via forging processes. Although forging processes for spur and bevel type gears have been developed on the practical level, the manufacturing of helical gears is still dependent on the traditional cutting process. Therefore, this paper seeks to develop a cold forward extrusion process for the helical gear with the pitch diameter of 43.5mm and a helix angle of $18.4^{\circ}$. A forward extrusion process was used due to the relatively small diameter of the target geometry. The material deforming behavior influenced by the die geometry was examined by using CAE analysis. Finally, it was found that the helical gear manufactured by the developed extrusion process satisfied the dimensional accuracy and mechanical characteristics for automotive transmissions.
In this study, process analysis of elbow-shaped tubes using a mandrel has been performed. To reach the final shape within the dimensional tolerance, the process analysis has been performed at various processing parameters such as tube dimensions, the curved cutting surface and the radius of curvature. The area outside the boundary of the target shape was expressed as a quantitative index to analyze the formability. The validation experiments have also been performed in order to increase the reliability of the process analysis. For the processing of elbow-shaped tubes, it is preferable to make the angle of the portion where the punch touches the tube smaller than the opposite angle. And the convex cutting surface is advantageous due to the increased contacts between the punch and the tube ends during the bending process. Elbow tube having larger radius of curvature shows higher dimensional accuracy due to the relatively uniform strain distribution.

A composite material was tested to eliminate phenol in aqueous solution combining adsorption on activated carbon and photocatalysis with $TiO_2$ in two different ways. A first implementation involved a sequential process with a loop reactor. The aim was to reuse this material as adsorbent several times with in situ photocatalytic regeneration. This process alternated a step of adsorption in the dark and a step of photocatalytic oxidation under UV irradiation with or without $H_2O_2$. Without $H_2O_2$, the composite material was poorly regenerated due to the accumulation of phenol and intermediates in the solution and on $TiO_2$ particles. In presence of $H_2O_2$, the regeneration of the composite material was clearly enhanced. After five consecutive adsorption runs, the amount of eliminated phenol was twice the maximum adsorption capacity. The phenol degradation could be described by a pseudo first-order kinetic model where constants were much higher with $H_2O_2$ (about tenfold) due to additional ${\bullet}OH$ radicals. The second implementation was in a continuous process as with a fixed bed reactor where adsorption and photocatalysis occurred simultaneously. The results were promising as a steady state was reached indicating stabilized behavior for both adsorption and photocatalysis.

The heating process such as line heating, triangular heating and so on is widely used in plate forming of shell plates found in bow and stern area of outer shell in a ship. Local shrinkage during heating process is main physical phenomenon used in plate forming process. As it is well appreciated, the heated plate undergoes the change in material and mechanical properties around heated area due to the harsh thermal process. It is, therefore, important to investigate the changes of physical and mechanical properties due to heating process in order to use them plate the design stage of shell plates. This study is concerned with the development of formula of plastic hardening constitutive equation for steel plate on which line heating is applied. In this study the stress correction formula for the heated plate has been developed based on the numerical simulation of tension test with varying plate thickness and heating speed through the regression analysis of multiple variable case. It has been seen the developed formula shows very good agreement with results of numerical simulation. This paper ends with usefulness of the present formula in examining the structural characteristic of ship's hull.
In the CNC machining process, problems such as lowering of machine operation rate, setting errors, and machining precision occur due to the increase in setting time and preparation time. These machining errors cause delays in delivery and increase in cost due to an increase in the number of mounting and dismounting of the workpiece, an increase in measurement and reprocessing time, and an increase in the finishing time in the assembly process. Therefore, in this study, by automating the setting of the work piece using OMV (On Machine Verification), which is a meteorological measurement system, the preparation time for machining the work piece and the setting accuracy were improved, the rework rate was reduced, and the mold manufacturing process was shortened. Through the advancement, standardzation, and automation of the mold part manufacturing process, we have improved productivity by minimizing low-value-added repetitive tasks. In addition, the measurement time was reduced by more than 50% and the machining measurement rate was improved by more than 20%, eliminating repetitive work for correcting machining defects, and reducing the work preparation time by more than 15% through automatic setting.

In order to process materials such as engineering plastics, which are difficult to mold due to their high strength compared to conventional polymer materials, it is necessary to improve the hardness and strength of parts such as screws and barrels of injection equipment in extrusion system. High-velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) process is well known for its contribution on enhancement of surface properties. Thus in this study, using the HVOF process, WC coating layers of different thicknesses were bonded to the surface of S30C substrate by controlling the movement speed of the spray nozzle and each property was evaluated to decide the optimization condition. Through the results, the thickness of WC coating layer increased from 0 to 200 ㎛ maximum, along with the decrement of nozzle movement speed and the surface hardness get increased. Especially, the coated layer with the thickness over 180 ㎛ under the nozzle speed 500 mm/s had high hardness than thinner layer. In addition, the amount of wear consumed per unit time was also significantly reduced due to the formation of the coating layer.
Purpose: This study is to analyze the purchasing process and distribution management requirements for teaching materials that have important meaning in the practical field of preschool education. Research design, data and methodology: A structured questionnaire was used to survey 103 childcare staffs regarding the purchasing process and distribution managements. The collected data underwent Likert's 5-point scale analysis and keyword grouping. Additionally, ANOVA was conducted to examine the distribution management demands based on demographic characteristics. Results: The purchasing of teaching materials involved more offline channels than online, and the purchase decisions were predominantly made by principals rather than teachers. Although the purchasing process is similar to that of general businesses, there are difficulties in purchasing due to the disorganized distribution channels and limited accessibility to product information. Additionally, the management of inventory for teaching materials is challenging due to limited personnel and storage. Childcare staffs have requirements for classification systems, evaluation criteria, environments and policies related to teaching materials distribution. The need to introduce a teaching material evaluation and certification system to ensure quality was not high. Conclusions: Most of the respondents recognized that strict management and measures should be taken for the distribution of teaching materials. There were differences in the demand of teaching material distribution depending on the respondents' status, age, education, and experience.
