The Dublin Core element set has been developed over the past years as an open, consensus-building metadata from many user communities. Wider adoption in many countries made this metadata a major resource discovery standard on the internet. The version 1.1 of the Dublin Core element set was adopted as CEN Workshop Agreement 13874 in Europe, and also ratified under the auspices of the National Information Standards Organization in US as ANSI Standard Z39.85. This report summarizes the standardization activities that have taken place in the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative for the past years.

현재 인터넷자원은 분산된 네비게이션환경에서 배포되고 있다. 이러한 분산된 정보자원을 통합할 수 있는 표준형식으로 Dublin Core가 성장하기 위해서는 기술내용뿐만 아니라, 기술방법을 정의하여 작성된 레코드의 일관성을 확보하여야 한다. 그리고 더 나아가 다언어문화와 자원의 유형에 상관없이 통합 기술할 수 있는 보다 세련된 메타데이터 형식으로 발전시켜야 한다.

With the growth of World Wide Web, multimedia electronic documents have been frequently used in a lot of applications. Especially, digital libraries tliat deal with huge and various multimedia electronic documents need to support efficient searcli techniques and systematical management techniques. In this paper, we suggest an extended Dublin Core metadata to store and search the multimedia electronic documents managed at digital libraries. We also design a document database schema based on the extended Dublin Core metadata and implement a svstem, called xD-MMS which manages the multimedia electronic documents.

What is introduced in this paper is current and important issues for efficient interoperability between different metadata such as Dublin Cere, MARC 21, and INDECS. Five major principles have been suggested here for effective interoperability between metadata based on the contents of crosswalking in White Paper of NISO. An INDECS based metadata framework, ONIX is compared to MARC and Dublin Core.

RDF treats all resources independently, that's integrated description model for internet resources description, that provides the model to connect resources that related with the specific resources. This article performs theoretical review of RDF model and syntax specification and RDF schema specification that's a common rule of semanics, structure and syntax those provides search and access in the area of dispersed information environment of internet and Dublin Core that's description element for build metadata. And with this way it's materialized metadata design, schema, DTD of Dublin Core element for building RDF-based metadata that is XML application.

The purpose of this study is to extract metadata based on Dublin Core from national construction information DBs, to design XML schema from the extracted metadata and to apply the previous works to integrated information retrieval system. To extract metadata, co-work was performed with librarians in the field of construction information, and. as a result, twelve metadata elements from Dublin Core and one administrative metadata could be extracted. Based on the investigation and analysis of those thirteen metadata elements, XML schema design process was described in detail. finally, the service environments of integrated information retrieval system to which XML schema was applied was introduced. Further study was also provided.

In this paper, core-shell semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) CdSeS/ZnS with emission at 490 nm and 450 nm were investigated for their use in luminescent down-shifting (LDS) layers. Luminescent quantum yield (LQY) of the QDs measurements in solution proposed that they were suitable candidates for inclusion in LDS layers. QDs were encapsulated in poly(methyl,methacrylate) (PMMA) polymer matrix and films were fabricated of $134{\pm}0.05$ microns. Selections of organic dyes from BASF Lumogen F range were also investigated for their use as LDS layers; Violet 570 and Yellow 083. The addition of LDS layers containing Violet 570 dye demonstrated a unity LQY when encapsulated within a PMMA matrix. A PV device of an LDS layer of Lumogen Violet 570 deposited on top of a crystalline silicon cell was fabricated where it was demonstrated to increase the efficiency of the cell by 34.5% relative.

메타데이터 요소집합이란 다양한 형식의 전자문헌 중에서 필요한 정보원을 찾아내는 데 도움이 되는 전자문헌의 가장 기본적인 특징을 기술하기 위한 것이며, 색인보다는 정보량이 많고 공식적인 목록레코드보다는 덜 완전한 레코드를 만들어 이 양극을 조정하려는 것이다. 이의 이점은 다음과 같다. 자동정보원탐색기가 데이터를 수집할 수 있는 형식으로 저자나 출판자가 메타데이터를 만들도록 장려할 수 있으며, 메타데이터레코드의 작성업무를 단순화함으로써 메타데이터요소의 템플릿을 갖는 네트워크출판도구의 개발을 장려할 것이다. 또한 만들어진 메타레코드는 필요하다면 보다 상세한 목록레코드의 바탕이 될 수 있을 것이며, 표준이 된다면 메타데이터레코드는 모든 이용자 집단에게 이해될 수 있을 것이다. 현재 이와 같은 관점에서 활발히 논의되고 있는 Dublin Core 메타데이터 형식을 중심으로 그 현황에 대하여 논한다.

가장 방대한 정보 도서관인 월드 와이드 웹(WWW)에서는 지난 몇 년 동안 멀티미디어 문서의 사용이 폭발적으로 증가했다. 따라서 인터넷의 사용자나 정보 제공자들이 멀티미디어 문서를 저장하거나 교환할 때 멀티미디어 데이터를 어떻게 효과적으로 표현하느냐가 가장 중대한 문제점으로 부각되고 있다. 현재 메타 데이터 모델을 표현하는 데는 다양한 방법들이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 그 중 가장 일반적으로 사용하는 Dublin Core와 활발한 연 활동이 이루어 지고 있는 MPEG-7의 두 개 표준을 사용하여 새로운 메타 데이터 모델을 제시하고자 한다. Dublin Core는 기존의 문서들의 메타 데이터를 15개의 중요 요소들로 표현하는 것이고, MPEG-7은 멀티미디어 데이터의 내용을 체계적으로 표현하고자 하는 표준안이다. 본 논문에서 제시한 새로운 메타 데이터 모델은 Dublin Core를 MPEG-7의 의미적 요소를 표현하도록 하여 두 표준의 장점을 살려 멀티미디어 데이터를 효과적으로 표현 할 수 있는 메타 데이터 모델을 제안하였다. 또한 이 메타 데이터 모델을 XML DTD로 표현하고자 한다. 그러나, XML DTD는 일반 사용자들이 처음부터 작성하기는 쉽지 않다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 제안한 메타 데이터 모델을 XML DTD 쉽게 작성할 수 있는 사용자 인터페이스를 구현하였다.

Metadata is a structured data that makes computer to understand web based data. Types of metadata are Dublin core, ONIX, and EBKS metadata in Korea. Dublin Core is well known among these metadata. Archive is a data, that is the result of ones or groups working process, which is reasonably maintained and stored. These archives are stored and maintained lawfully and suitably for efficient usages for the future. For efficiently managing these grant amount of archive, Finding Aids and Description are needed. Adoption Archives and Records Management system is inevitable in order to maintain organized and efficient data. Metadata helps governments data that is grant to organize in simple way. For maintaining and storing data efficiently, using metadata for Archives and Records Management is essential. Form this report, we will see the examples of using metadata of other country, such as GILS(Government Information Locator Service), AGLS(The Australian Government Locator Service), NZGLS(New Zealand Government Locator Service), Danish Dublin Core and e-GMS(e-Government Metadata Standard) and e-GMF(e-Government Metadata Framework).
