In this paper, a dual-band T-shaped microstrip monopole antenna with a pair of slits for 2.4/5.2/5.8-GHz wireless local area networks (WLANs) is proposed. A pair of T-shaped slits is loaded on a T-shaped monopole antenna fed by microstrip line in order to obtain dual-band operation as well as to reduce the antenna size. It is demonstrated from experimental results that the proposed antenna can cover all the required bands for WLAN. The measured impedance bandwidth for VSWR<2 is about 5.7% (2.37-2.51GHz) in the lower frequency band and about 28.8% (4.76-6.35GHz) in the higher frequency band. The measured peak gains are about 1.33 dBi to 1.66 dBi in the 2.4GHz band, 3.50 dBi to 3.95 dBi in the 5.25GHz band, and 2.06 dBi to 2.34 dBi in the 5.8GHz band.

In this paper, a small internal antenna for dual-band(RFID, PCS) applications is presented. The proposed antenna is a basic PIFA type and has a deformed ground plane under the main radiator. The modified ground plane is spreading the surface current and the antenna miniaturization can be achieved due to the coupling effect. The antenna is manufactured according to the simulation results and the resonance frequency move to low frequency band by 150MHz. And the surface current on the radiator and ground plane is evenly distributed so our suggested antenna can be used for better SAR and HAC performance.

In this paper, a dual-band antenna is proposed for the RF power harvester system as well as RFID tag. The proposed antenna operates as the passive and active RFID tag antenna in the UHF and microwave band, respectively. In addition, to charge the battery of an active RFID tag in the microwave band, it harvest the RF signal for tagging from the passive RFID tag antenna in the UHF band. The proposed antenna operates in the UHF band (917~923.5 MHz) and microwave band (2.4~2.45 GHz). In order to obtain the dual-band operation, the dipole structure and meander parasitic elements are proposed as the ${\lambda}/2$ and $1{\lambda}$ dipole antenna, respectively. The radiating dipole structure in the microwave band acts as the coupled feed for the meander parasitic elements in the UHF band. The impedance bandwidth (VSWR < 2) of the proposed antenna covers 917~923.5 MHz (UHF band) and 2.4~2.45 GHz (Microwave band). Measured total efficiencies are over 45 % in the UHF band and over 70 % in the microwave band. Peak gains are over 0.18 dBi and 2.8 dBi in the UHF and microwave band with an omni-directional radiation pattern, respectively.

Dual-band microstrip antenna is designed for industrial-scientific-medical(ISM) band of 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz using finite-difference time-domain method(FDTD). Cross patch 130 by aperture in the ground plane of microstrip line is proposed as radiation element of antenna which is 2 rectangular patch is overlapped. To design antenna, change of input impedance is examined by length change of aperture and stub. And center frequency and - 10 dB bandwidth are investigated by change of length and width in radiation element. Measured result about reflection loss confirm that agree well with simulation results of FDTD and IE3D. And 3 dB beam width, front to back ratio and maximum gain is presented by measuring radiation pattern of antenna in frequency 2.43 GHz and 5.79 GHz.

A compact dual-band(IEEE 802.11b: 2.4~2.5 GHz, 11a: 5.15~5.825 GHz) 2-channel MIMO antenna for PMP applications is presented. The proposed antenna is composed of a planar inverted F-shape antenna(PIFA) operating at 2 GHz band and a loop antenna operating at 5 GHz band. The proposed antenna is orthogonally arranged at the edge of the ground plane for polarization and pattern diversities with excellent isolation characteristics. The two PIFA antennas operating 2 GHz have connecting line($\lambda_g$/4) face to the feed point for high isolation and low correlation at 2 GHz band. The two loop antennas connected each other in the bottom side to improve the isolation at 5 GHz band. The proposed antenna has a sufficient gain in WLAN service band and is compact sized for the portable media player (PMP) applications.
In This paper, a novel broadband monopole antenna is investigated experimentally. Our broadband monopole antenna yields the largest bandwidth from 1.72 ∼ 2.2 GHz ( 24.2 % ) for VSWR<1.2 So, this antenna can be designed to extend enough the coverage of dual band(PCS+IMT-2000). The measurements and computations are confirmed to operating of the our broadband antenna, whose electrical characteristics have an attractive feature as handset communication applications.

We are designed and fabricated the Printed dual monopole antenna with CPW feeder for PCS and IMT2000 band. In this paper il proposed modified dual monopole antenna that is transform conventional monopole antenna to get dual band frequency. The dual monopole antennas had broad bandwidth and omni -directional radiation patterns in construct with conventional monopole antenna. On a monopole operated a stub to other monopole antenna, we could obtain easy an impedance matching. It is increased band width of impedance. The antenna bandwidth is about 150MHz(1.74 ∼1.89〔GHz〕)at 1$^{st}$ resonance frequency and 290MHz(1.95∼2.24GHz) at 2$^{nd}$ resonance frequency on VSWR(equation omitted)1.5 and then we can be got not only 1.75∼1.87〔GHz〕 PCS band but also 1.92∼2.17 〔GHz〕).GHz〕).

This paper presents the design of a palm-sized metamaterial antenna system having reconfigurable polarization as well as dual-band characteristics. Basically, three antennas are laid by 45 degrees in order and excited by a compact metamaterial dual-band power-divider of the in-phase outputs, and the radiated fields of the antennas are mixed to turn the vector of the polarization to another. The validity of the proposed method is verified by observing the in-phase outputs from the odd-numbered power-dividing device for both 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz, and checking the changeable polarization with the antenna gain over 2 dBi for all the polarizations.
In this paper, we deal with the development of an optimal design program for a dual-band of 0.92 GHz and 2.45 GHz with shorting pin and slot by using evolution strategy. the optimal shorting pin, coaxial feed and H-shaped patch are determined by using an optimal design program based on the evolution strategy. To achieve this, an interface program between a commercial EM analysis tool and the optimal design program is constructed for implementing the evolution strategy technique that seeks a global optimum of the objective function through the iterative design process consisting of variation and reproduction. The resonance frequencies of the dual-band antenna yielded by the optimal design program are 0.92 GHz and 2.45 GHz that show a good agreement to the design target values.

In this paper, the compact CPW-fed antenna with triple folded patch for dual-band WLAN applications is proposed. As the conventional double inverted-L antenna is changed into the C-shaped patch and double inverted-L antenna, the antenna overcomes the narrow-band characteristics according to the miniaturization of the antenna. The proposed antenna with the size of only $16.5mm{\times}29.5mm{\times}1.0mm$ is designed and fabricated by optimized parameters to be operated at 2.4 GHz band and 5 GHz band. The antenna is fabricated into FR-4 substrate with thickness of 1.0 mm. We confirm that it is operated as antenna for WLAN applications by obtaining the measured return loss level of < -10 dB at dual-band.
