넓은 입력전압범위의 고주파수 구동 Dual mode control LLC 공진형 컨버터 (High Frequency Dual Mode Control LLC Resonant Converter with Wide Input Voltage Range)

  • In this paper, a high-frequency dual mode control LLC resonant converter with wide input voltage range is proposed through zero voltage switching (ZVS) under the universal line input voltage and every load conditions. Conventional small power adapter driving should be satisfied with universal line input voltage because it has no power factor correction circuit regulation. The conventional LLC resonant converter for an adapter can reduce the size of transformer in terms of high-frequency driving and ZVS. However, this converter has a disadvantage in terms of design of resonant tank under various input voltages because the frequency modulation range is very wide to satisfy voltage conversion gain. Compared with the conventional one, the proposed LLC converter can be adapted to universal line input voltage and high-frequency driving because it is controlled by pulse width modulation and pulse frequency modulation with control voltage. The validity of the proposed LLC converter is proved through the 60 W prototype.

One-Cycle Control Strategy for Dual-Converter Three-Phase PWM Rectifier under Unbalanced Grid Voltage Conditions

  • In this paper, a dual-converter three-phase pulse width modulation (PWM) rectifier based on unbalanced one-cycle control (OCC) strategy is proposed. The proposed rectifier is used to eliminate the second harmonic waves of DC voltage and distortion of line currents under unbalanced input grid voltage conditions. The dual-converter PWM rectifier employs two converters, which are called positive-sequence converter and negative-sequence converter. The unbalanced OCC system compensates feedback currents of positive-sequence converter via grid negative-sequence voltages, as well as compensates feedback currents of negative-sequence converter via grid positive-sequence voltages. The AC currents of positive- and negative-sequence converter are controlled to be symmetrical. Thus, the workload of every switching device of converter is balanced. Only one conventional PI controller is adopted to achieve invariant power control. Then, the parameter tuning is simplified, and the extraction for positive- and negative-sequence currents is not needed anymore. The effectiveness and the viability of the control strategy are demonstrated through detailed experimental verification.

  • In this study, a new voltage-balancing dual-active bridge converter that integrates a DAB converter with a voltage balancer is proposed for a bipolar DC distribution system. The proposed converter is configured to connect two loads to the transformer secondary center tap of the DAB converter, and no additional components are added. The proposed converter has the same operation as the conventional DAB converter, and it makes both output voltages similar. Moreover, the imbalanced current offset between the two loads is bypassed only on the secondary side of the transformer. Consequently, the proposed converter integrates a voltage balancer without any additional components, and no additional loss occurs in the corresponding components. Thus, high efficiency and high power density can be achieved. The feasibility of the proposed converter is verified using 3 kW prototypes under 380 V input and 190/190 V output conditions.

  • 이 논문은 Dead-time을 갖는 톱니파 발생기를 이용하여 공통모드와 차동모드 피드백 루프를 구현한 Single-Inductor Dual-Output DC-DC Converter 설계에 관한 내용을 제시하고 있다. 제어회로에는 공통모드와 차동모드 피드백 루프를 Dead-time을 갖는 톱니파 발생기를 이용하여 동시에 사용하였다. 차동모드 피드백 루프에서 duty를 생성하기 위해서 전류 분배기 회로를 사용하여 공통모드 피드백에 의한 duty에 따라 dead-time이 유동적으로 변하는 톱니파형을 만드는 회로인 Dead-time을 갖는 톱니파 발생기를 추가하여 차동모드 피드백 회로를 구성하였다. 0.35um 공정을 사용하여 설계한 SIDO DC-DC Converter는 2.5V 입력으로부터 2.8V와 4.2V의 전압을 출력하며 최대 전력변환 효율은 95%이다. 출력간의 Cross regulation은 출력전류가 2배씩 증가할 경우 Boost1과 Boost2의 출력전압은 각각 3.57%, 4% 수준을 보이고 있다.

  • A modular multilevel-clamped composited multilevel converter ($M-MC^2$) is proposed. $M-MC^2$ enables topology reconfiguration, power device reuse, and composited clamping. An advanced five-level converter ($5L-M-MC^2$) is derived from the concept of $M-MC^2$. $5L-M-MC^2$ integrates dual three-level T-type modules and one three-level neutral point clamped module. This converter can also integrate dual three-level T-type modules and one passive diode module by utilizing the device reuse scheme. The operation principle and SPWM modulation are discussed to highlight converter performance. The proposed $M-MC^2$ is comprehensively compared with state-of-the-art five-level converters. Finally, simulations and experimental results are presented to validate the effectiveness of the main contributions of this study.

  • In this paper, a predictive current control of 12-pulse parallel connected dual converter system with interphase transfromer(IPT) is presented. Firstly, 12-pulse parallel connected dual converter system and the predictive current control of this system is discussed. And the validity of the presented system and the excellence of the predictive current control response is proved through the simyulation and experiment result.

  • In this paper, a predictive current control of 12-pulse parallel connected dual converter system without interphase reactors(IPR) is presented. Firstly, the characteristics of system without IPR are analyzed and compared with that of system with IPR. And the predictive current control of this system is discussed. Finally the validity of the presented system and the excellence of the predictive current control response is proved through the simulation results and experimental results.

  • A new active lossless snubber for half-bridge dual converter(that is called 'dual converter') is proposed in this paper. It features soft switching(ZVS) as well as turn-off snubbing in both main and auxiliary switches. As it uses parasitic components, such as leakage inductances and switch output capacitances etc, it helps the dual converter to operate at the higher frequency with a higher efficiency and smaller size reactive components. The operational principle, theoretical analysis, and design consideration are presented. To confirm the operation, features and validity of the proposed circuit, simulated results from an 1kW, 24V/DC-250V/DC are presented.

  • In this paper, as a part of studying the fast battery charger, designed the charging system by applying dual converter. This dual converter was applied to the charging system for reducing time by dividing high current which prevents the damage of parts from heating of components. In this paper continued the task by switching the topology of the dual converter for fast charging battery into SISO, PISO, and PIPO. The study to derive the optimized system topology by analyzing the efficiency of charging system.
