새로운 건성 및 습성 침착 채취기의 개발 (Development of the Novel Dry and Wet Deposition Collector)

  • A novel dry and wet deposition collector, which can overcome the several problems such as water evaporation cartridge cracks and high costs founded in the previous collector systems, has been constructed. ENVI-18 SPE adsorption cartridge has been used to measure atmospheric deposition of polycylic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). A surrogate surface, consisted of water and methanol, was filled in the dry deposition funnel to simulate dry deposition onto water surface. A water supply system in order to compensat evaporation of the surrogate surface was used and it was consisted of a piston pump, a tubing pump, a overflow tube and a chamber system. A novel water vaporizing system to supply water onto the wet SPE cartridge system with a constant flow rate was developed. The novel water vaporizing system, consisted of a vacuum pump, a water supply reserviour and tube and a mini space heater, could prevent the PAHs adsorption cartridge cracks occurred in the previous collector and effectively adsorb PAHs. The novel dry and wet deposition collector showed a good adsorption, desorption, and recovery rates of PAHs. By reducing the number of pumps used and employing polypyopylene (PP) instead of teflon as a material of collection funnel, the total construction costs were much reduced as compared with the previous dry and wet deposition collectors.

한국에서 분진 및 금속원소의 건식 침착속도 추정에 관한 연구 (Studies on Estimating Dry Deposition Velocities for Atmospheric Aerosol and Metal Elements in Korea)

  • Dry and wet deposition is an impertant removal mechanism of the amobient aerosol in the atmospheric environment. Since the deposition flut provides adverse impacts on various encironmental media including aquatic and ecological system as well as human health, it is essential to quantitatively estimate the removal fluxes of many air pollutants. Thus, the purposes of this experimental study are to investigate seasonal deposition flux variations of the total dustfall and various inorganic elements in the local ambient air and then to finally estimate their dry deposition velocities. To perform the study, the total of 90 dustfall samples were collected from January, 1994 thru February, 1995 in 5 different cities of Korea including Seoul, Suwon, Daejon, Kwangju, and Kangrung. Each sample was analyzed by an AAS and an ICP to determine the quantities of the 11 inorganic elements, such as Zn, Cd, Cr, K, Na, Pb, Ca, Fe, Mn, Mi, and Cu. As results, deposition fluxes, soluble/insoluble fractions, and deposition velocities for each element were extensively investigated. The resulting dry deposition velocities of some elements in Suwon were estimated by ranges of 0.57 .sim. 0.87 cm/sec for Zn, 0.35 .sim. 0.45 cm/sec for Pb, 1.25 .sim. 3.52 cm/sec for Ca, 0.21 .sim. 0.48 cm/sec for Fe, 0.95 .sim. 9.31 cm/sec for Mn, and 2.08 cm/sec for Cu.

Source-Receptor Relationships of Transboundary Air Pollutants in East Asia Region Simulated by On-Line Transport Model

  • Transboundary air pollution has recently become an area of increasing scientific interest and political concern as countries are receiving air pollutants from their neighbors. In order to gain a better understanding of the long-range transport processes of air pollutants and the source-receptor relationships among neighboring countries, an atmospheric transport model coupled with a RAMS(Regional Atmospheric Modeling System) model was applied to the East Asia region during the entire month of January 1993. The scalar transport option of the RAMS model was used to calculate special atmospheric constituents such as trace gases or aerosols. The sulfate production in clouds and rainwater and its removal processes by dry and wet deposition were considered. The sulfate budget from source regions to receptor regions was estimated by analysing the source-receptor relationships. When a specific receptor site revealed a sulfate value higher than the sulfate concentration based on its own source origin, this was taken to indicate long-range transport from another source region. The contribution ratio from various source region was calculated. The contribution ratio of dry and wet deposition was higher on the main continent of the East region. Furthermore, the high deposition amounts were identified on the west coast of Korea and the East China Sea.

드라이클리닝 시스템에서의 세척성과 재오염성 -계면활성제의 종류와 혼합이 미치는 영향- (Detergency and soil Redeposition in a Drycleaning System -The Effect of Surfactant Type and Their Mixture-)

  • The effect of surfactant mixture 9on detergency and soil redeposition in a dry-cleaning system was investigated employing Aerosol OT as an anionic surfactant and Span 80 as a nonionic surfactant. The effect of charge system on soil deposition was also investigated in order to determine the optimum condition at which soil redeposition is minimum,. Soil deposition instead of soil redeposition on cotton, polyester and wool fabrics was measured employing petroleum solvent and perchloroethylene as organic solvents. The results were as follows. 1. Surface tension or interfacial tension was not changed by the addition of any surfactant or surfactant mixtures. In petroleum solvent however interfacial tension between solrent and water decreased when surfactants were added and increased when surfactants were mixed,. 2. The maximum amount of water solubilization increased as the mole fraction of Aerosol OT increased and more water was solubilized in petroleum solvent than in perchloroethylene. 3. The detergency of cotton was greater and the soil deposition rate was lower in Span 80 solution than in Aerosol OT solution. The soil deposition on cotton fabric decreased when water was solubilized in Aersol OT solution 4. The detergency and soil deposition rate of polyester fabric did not change by the surfactant type of the addition of surfactant mixture and soil deposition rate increased bywater solubilization. 5. Soil deposition on wool fabric was very high when Arosol OT was employed in perchloroethylene and the soil deposition did not change greatly by water solubilization.

도시지역의 국지순환과 침적현상에 관한 수치모의 (Numerical Simulation for Local Circulation of Urban Area and Deposition Phenomenon)

  • There are variations in the temperature Held due to urban heat island and anthropogenic heating so that regional scale meteorological field is changed. Therefore we simulate and predict the regional climate change according to surface characteristics through regional meteorological model. This study investigates the regional meteorological field by urbanization that influences in local circulation system using CSU-RAMS and simulates dry deposition velocity (V$_{d}$) using PNU/DEM which includes surface characteristics (such as albedo, surface hydrology and rough-ness length etc.) with calculated meteorological field. During the summer, horizontal distributions of V$_{d}$ were simulated using CSU-RAMS and PNU/DEM at Busan metropolitan area. The estimated values of V$_{d}$ were larger in forest and agricultural areas than water areas since ozone with low water solubility is destroyed slowly at wet surface or water.water.

  • SAW-ED를 이용하는 박막공정 기술을 통하여 나노레벨의 SWCNT 와 PEDOT의 thin film 및 hybrid화된 film구조를 얻을 수 있었다. SWCNT와 전도성고분자와의 hybridization을 통해 균일상의 표면 morphology를 갖는 고전도성 투명 필름을 제작하고, 이들의 전기광학적 성질을 확인하였다. SAW-ED를 이용하는 박막공정 기술은 나노입자 및 나노구조물의 박막화 패턴화를 포함하는 새로운 deposition 기술로서의 응용성을 가지고 있으며, 본 연구에서는 SWCNT와 전도성고분자를 이용하여 이를 확인하였다.

나노 입자 적층 시스템(NPDS)을 이용한 염료 감응 태양전지 - 전기 변색 통합 소자 및 에너지 하베스팅 시스템에 대한 연구 (Development of Energy Harvesting Hybrid system consisted of Electrochromic Device and Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell using Nano Particle Deposition System)

  • 본 연구에서는 나노 입자 적층 시스템(Nano Particle Deposition System, NPDS)을 이용하여 전기변색소자의 작동 전극을 적층하고 또한 염료 감응 태양전지의 반도체 층으로 사용되는 $TiO_2$층 및 전기변색소자의 이온 저장 층으로 사용되는 Antimony Tin Oxide(ATO) 층을 제작하였다. NPDS는 상온 건식 분말 적층법으로 노즐을 통하여 초음속으로 가속된 분말의 높은 에너지를 이용하여 기판에 적층하는 새로운 개념의 건식 적층 방법이다. 본 연구에서 코팅된 물질의 두께는 전기변색소자의 투과율에 영향을 끼치는데, 이는 표면 프로파일 측정법(surface profiling method)으로 측정하였으며, 적층된 $TiO_2$와 ATO 및 복합 층의 미세 구조를 확인하기 위해 SEM을 이용한 분석을 진행하였다. 한편 염료 감응 태양전지의 광 변환 효율은 솔라 시뮬레이터로 분석하였다. 또한 UV-visible spectrometer와 power source를 이용하여 630 nm 대역에서 전기 변색 소자가 갖는 투과도 변화와 낮은 전압에서의 작동 및 변색 횟수를 측정하였으며, 결과적으로 상기 과정을 거쳐 제작되고, 측정된 염료 감응 태양전지 - 전기 변색 통합 구조 소자를 자체 제작한 에너지 하베스팅 시스템과 연결하여 통합 구조 소자 내 태양전지의 전압 발생을 통해 자체 구동이 가능한 전기 변색 소자 시스템 제작에 성공하였다. NPDS를 통해 제작된 변색 소자의 경우, 최대 49%의 투과도 변화와 500회 작동에서 C-V curve를 유지함을 측정하여 성능과 내구성을 입증하였고, 통합 소자 내 태양 전지의 광 변환 효율은 최대 2.55%로 측정되었으며, 통합 소자 내 변색 소자의 경우 최대 26%의 투과도 변화를 보였다.

Prediction of radioactivity releases for a Long-Term Station Blackout event in the VVER-1200 nuclear reactor of Bangladesh

  • Consequences of an anticipated Beyond Design Basis Accident (BDBA) Long-Term Station Blackout (LTSBO) event with complete loss of grid power in the VVER-1200 reactor of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) of Unit-1 are assessed using the RASCAL 4.3 code. This study estimated the released radionuclides, received public radiological dose, and ground surface concentration considering 3 accident scenarios of International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale (INES) level 7 and two meteorological conditions. Atmospheric transport, dispersion, and deposition processes of released radionuclides are simulated using a straight-line trajectory Gaussian plume model for short distances and a Gaussian puff model for long distances. Total Effective Dose Equivalent (TEDE) to the public within 40 km and radionuclides contribution for three-dose pathways of inhalation, cloudshine, and groundshine owing to airborne releases are evaluated considering with and without passive safety Emergency Core Cooling System (ECCS) in dry (winter) and wet (monsoon) seasons. Source term and their release rates are varied with the functional duration of passive safety ECCS. In three accident scenarios, the TEDE of 10 mSv and above are confined to 8 km and 2 km for the wet and dry seasons, respectively in the downwind direction. The groundshine dose is the most dominating in the wet season while the inhalation dose is in the dry season. Total received doses and surface concentration in the wet season near the plant are higher than those in the dry season due to the deposition effect of rain on the radioactive substances.

수목의 초미세먼지(PM2.5) 저감 효과에 대한 CFD 수치 모의: 부산 감만동 지역을 대상으로 (CFD Simulations of the Trees' Effects on the Reduction of Fine Particles (PM2.5): Targeted at the Gammandong Area in Busan)

  • 본 연구는 전산유체역학(computational fluid dynamics, CFD) 모델을 이용하여 도시 지역에서 수목이 PM2.5 저감에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 현실적인 수치 모의를 위해, 기상청에서 현업으로 운영 중인 국지예보시스템(LDAPS)이 예측한 기상 자료를 CFD 모델의 초기·경계 자료로 사용하였다. CFD 모델 성능 검증은 연구 대상지 내에 구축된 6개의 센서에서 측정한 PM2.5 농도를 이용하였다. 본 연구에서는 수목이 PM2.5 농도 분포에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위하여, 수목이 식재 되지 않았다고 가정한 경우, 수목이 식재되어 있지만 바람에 대한 항력 효과만 존재한다고 가정한 경우, 수목의 항력 효과와 침적 효과가 모두 존재한다고 가정한 경우에 대한 수치 실험을 수행하였다. 분석대상 기간 동안 PM2.5 저감 효과가 뚜렷하게 나타난 세 가지 영역 중 군부대 내의 PM2.5 평균 농도를 비교한 결과, 수목이 식재되지 않은 경우는 12.8 ㎍ m-3, 수목의 항력 효과만 고려한 경우는 12.5 ㎍ m-3이 나타났고, 수목의 항력 효과와 침적 효과가 모두 고려한 경우는 6.8 ㎍ m-3가 나타났다. 수목에 의한 건성 침적이 PM2.5 농도를 감소시키는 효과가 있는 것으로 확인되었다.

관거 내 고형물 퇴적량 산정식 개발 (Development of Estimation Equations for Solid Deposition in Sewer Systems)

  • 건기에 합류식 관거 내에 퇴적된 고형물은 우기에 재부상하여 초기부하(first-flush) 현상의 주된 원인이 되고 있으며, 이러한 고형물의 퇴적으로 인해 관거 내 통수능이 감소하여 도시지역의 국지적인 내수침수가 발생하고 있다. 이와 같은 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 장기간에 걸친 관거 내 고형물 퇴적량을 관측할 필요가 있으나 많은 비용과 노력이 수반되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 MOUSE 모형에 의해 산정된 결과로부터 고형물 퇴적량을 산정하기 위한 회귀식의 개발 및 적용성을 검토하였다. 분석 결과 관거 내 퇴적고형물의 관측 자료가 구비되어 있지 않아 실질적으로 비교하기는 곤란하지만 MOUSE 모형이나 EPA(미환경보호청)에서 제시한 공식을 이용하여 산정한 결과와 비교해 볼 때 본 연구에서 개발된 산정식은 적용성이 있음을 보여주고 있다.
