Combined with deposition model onto the ground of radionuclides, the influence of radioactive contamination to agricultural products was analyzed due to wet deposition as well as dry deposition from radioactive air concentration during a nuclear emergency. The previous dynamic food chain model, in which initial input parameter is only radionuclide concentrations on the ground, was improved for the evaluating of radioactive contamination to agricultural products from either radionuclide concentrations in air or radionuclide concentrations on the ground. As the results, in case of deposition onto the ground, wet deposition was more dominant process than thy deposition. While the contamination levels of agricultural products were dependent on the a variety of factors such as radionuclides and rainfall rate. It means that the contamination levels of agricultural products are determined from which is more dominant process between deposition on the ground and interception onto agricultural plants.

Transboundary air pollution has recently become an area of increasing scientific interest and political concern as countries are receiving air pollutants from their neighbors. In order to gain a better understanding of the long-range transport processes of air pollutants and the source-receptor relationships among neighboring countries, an atmospheric transport model coupled with a RAMS(Regional Atmospheric Modeling System) model was applied to the East Asia region during the entire month of January 1993. The scalar transport option of the RAMS model was used to calculate special atmospheric constituents such as trace gases or aerosols. The sulfate production in clouds and rainwater and its removal processes by dry and wet deposition were considered. The sulfate budget from source regions to receptor regions was estimated by analysing the source-receptor relationships. When a specific receptor site revealed a sulfate value higher than the sulfate concentration based on its own source origin, this was taken to indicate long-range transport from another source region. The contribution ratio from various source region was calculated. The contribution ratio of dry and wet deposition was higher on the main continent of the East region. Furthermore, the high deposition amounts were identified on the west coast of Korea and the East China Sea.

The relationship between the tritium release rate from the nuclear power plant and tritium concentration in the environment around the Kori site was modeled. The tritium concentration in the atmosphere was calculated by multiplying the release rates and $\chi$/Q values, and the d3V deposition rate at each sector according to the direction and the distance was obtained using a dry deposition velocity. The area around Kori site was divided into 6 zones according to the deposition rate. The six zones were divided into 14 compartments for the numerical simulation. Transfer coefficients between the compartments were derived using site characterization data. Source terms were calculated from the dry deposition rates. Tritium concentration in surface soil water and groundwater was calculated based upon a compartment model. The semi-analytical solution of the compartment model was obtained with a computer program, AMBER. The results showed that most of tritium deposited onto the land released into the atmosphere and the sea. Also, the estimated concentration in the top soil agreed well to that measured. Using the model, tritium concentration was predicted in the case that the tritium release rates were doubled.
Dry and wet deposition samples were continuously collected by deposit gauge. In Bulkwang area of Seoul and Kanghwa in west coastal area of Korea. In order to evaluate the level of air pollution and its chemical composition, Bulkwang area located in Seoul and Kanghwa in west coastal area were chosen for sampling site. dry deposition concentrations, pH, electric conductivity and water soluble ion concentrations of deposit gauge were analysed. The results of comparison between urban area and coastal area were summarized as follows. Mean concentrations of dry deposition in Bulkwang was 2.807 ton/km$^2$/month (range: 5.171~1.128 ton/km$^2$/month) while that in Kanghwa was 1.990 ton/km$^2$/month (range: 3.358 ~ 1.084 ton/km$^2$/month), which showed a significant difference between two areas. The rainfall during the period from June to September in 1990 recorded 1859.7 mm which was 78.8% of its mean amount in Seoul, and 1846.9 mm which was 81.6% that of Kanghwa. In Bulkwang area, correlation coefficients of deposit chemical composition were 0.95 for SO$_4^{-2}$ and Na$^+$, 0.94 for SO$_4^{-2}$ and NH$_4^+$, 0.93 for CI$^-$ and NH$_4^+$ and 0.85 for Cl$^-$ and Ca$^{2+}$, respectively. Then, the results indicate that sulfates such as $Na_2SO_4$, $(NH_4)_2SO_4$, and CaSO$_4$ were the major chemical state of deposit. In Kanghwa area, it was considered that NaCl, $NH_4NO_3$, NaNO$_3$, and $Ca(NO_3)_2$ were the major chemical state of deposit.

Lake Paldang is a main resource of drinking water for 20 million people in the greater Seoul area. Dry deposition amounts of nitrogen and sulfur were estimated for three typical days in each season over the watershed of Lake Paldang. Models- 3/CMAQ (Community Multiscale Air Quality) and MM5 (Mesoscale Model) were used to predict air quality and meteorology, respectively. Aerosols as well as gaseous pollutants were considered. Nitrogen was mainly deposited in the form of HNO, while most of sulfur was deposited in the form of SO$_2$. Contribution of secondary pollutants was the largest in fall since they were transported from the greater Seoul area. However, contribution of secondarily-formed particulate pollutants to the nitrogen deposition was the largest in winter because semi-volatile ammonium nitrate favors lower temperature. Annual deposition amounts of nitrogen and sulfur were 37% and 26% of their emission amounts, respectively, over the watershed of Lake Paldang. Higher value of the nitrogen deposition showed a more influence of pollutants emitted in the greater Seoul area.

Atmospheric monitoring capabilities were established in 1988 by the University of Florida at Duke forest, near Durham. NC: Cary forest, near Gainesville, FL: and Austin forest, near Nacogdoches, TX. Continuous (hourly averaged) measurements of air quality (ozone, nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxide) and meteorological variables were made at these three low elevation (< 200 meters), rural locations in the southeastern U.S. for more than three years. During the same period at these sites wet and dry acid deposition samples were collected and analyzed on an event and weekly basis, respectively The monitoring locations were selected to determine actual atmospheric exposure indices for southern pine species in support of on-site surrogate exposure chamber studies conducted by Southern Commercial Forest Research Cooperative (SCFRC) investigators. Daily and quarterly averaged ozone maxima were higher (55 ppb) at the northernmost site in the network (Duke forest) in the second and third quarters (spring and summer seasons) and lower (35 ppb) in the first and fourth quarters (winter and fall seasons), when compared to ozone levels at the two southernmost sites (Cary and Austin forests). Seasonal ozone levels at the latter two sites were similar Nitrogen oxieds and sulfur dioxide levels were insignificant (< 5 ppb) most of the time at all sites, although soil emissions of NO at two sites were found to influence nighttime ozone concentrations. Typical maximum quarterly and annual aggregate ozone exposure indices were significantly higher at Duke forest (92.5/259 ppm-hr) than those values observed at the two southern sites (65.6/210 ppm-hr). Acid deposition (wet and dry) components concentrations and deposition fluxes observed at the Duke forest, NC piedmont site, were generally greater, dependent on site and season, than corresponding variables measured at either of the two southern coastal plain sites (Cary and Austin forests). Acid deposition variables observed at the latter two sites were remarkably similar, both qualitatively and quantitatively, although the sites were located 1300 km apart. A comparison of deposition fluxes of elemental nitrogen (NO3, NH4') and sulfur (5042-, SO3) components in wet and dry forms indicated that wet deposition accounts for approximately 70% of the total nitrogen and 73% of the total sulfur input on an annual equivalent basis at all sites.

Atmospheric dry deposition fluxes and size segregated concentrations of particulate metal elements were measured at four sites in Kunpo, a small city in the Seoul metropolitan area in Korea. At each site, aerosol samples were collected by dry deposition plates, a cascade impactor, and a coarse panicle rotary impactor during four sampling periods. At all sites, the average fluxes of metals measured during daytime were higher than nighttime fluxes due to higher wind speeds and higher ambient concentrations during daytime. The average fluxes of crustal elements (Al, Ca) were 1∼2 orders of magnitude higher than anthropogenic elements (As, Cd, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb, and Zn). The daytime fluxes of Al and Ca were between 90 and 12000 $\mu\textrm{g}$ m$\^$-2/ day$\^$-1/, and the nighttime fluxes of Al and Ca were between 20 and 2200 $\mu\textrm{g}$ m$\^$-2/ day$\^$-1/. The daytime fluxes of Pb, a typical anthropogenic element, were between 20 and 160$\mu\textrm{g}$ m$\^$-2/ day$\^$-1/, and the nighttime fluxes of Pb were between ND and 100$\mu\textrm{g}$ m$\^$-2/ day$\^$-1/. Also the ambient metal concentrations during daytime were higher than nighttime. Based on a dust emission estimation study in Kunpo, it was found that dust emissions during daytime are higher than nighttime. The concentrations of crustal elements were higher than anthropogenic elements. The distributions of heavy metals were mainly in small particles (D$\_$p/ 9㎛). The fraction of crustal elements in the large particles (D$\_$p/> 9㎛) were higher than anthropogenic elements.
Polymer deposition pattern on the ceramic lid surface is analyzed by numerical modeling. Assumption was made that is affected by gas flow pattern from the horizontal and vertical nozzles, temperature profile from the finger-like branches made of graphite and electrostatic potential effect. Calculated results showed gas flow dynamics is less relevant than two others. Temperature and electrostatic effects are likely determining the polymer deposition pattern based on our numerical simulation results.

We report on the simple preparation method of large-scale structured catalysts by temperature-regulated chemical vapor deposition with a high cell-density ceramic honeycomb monolith. And the feasibility for dry reforming of methane catalysts was evaluated. The NiO/Cordierite (CDR) catalyst was prepared by controlling coating conditions at each temperature step, leading to a conformal deposition of NiO inside the cordierite honeycomb monolith with the cell density of 600 cpsi. The catalytic conversion of $CH_4$ and $CO_2$ for dry reforming of methane were about 83% and 90% with gas hourly space velocity of $10,000h^{-1}$ at $800^{\circ}C$, respectively. As a result, it exhibited that the temperature-regulated chemical vapor deposition method can be expedient for the preparation of large-scale structured catalysts.
