중형 상용차 통풍형 브레이크 디스크의 제동 시 열 유동 및 변형 해석 (Thermal Fluid Flow and Deformation Analysis of Medium Commercial Vehicle Ventilated Brake Disc in Braking)

  • Domestic automobile companies have adopted drum type brake system for commercial vehicles. However recently those companies have been applying disc-brake system to solve vehicle control-instability and inefficient heat discharge performance of conventional drum brake system for a medium commercial vehicle. Because the kinetic energy of a running commercial vehicle is relatively high, the brake system should discharge lots of heat energy while braking. A ventilated type brake disc has been used to increase heat discharge performance of a brake system. The vent structure of a disc highly affects cooling efficiency. This paper compares thermal characteristics of three types of vent structure in JASO C421 braking condition. It is found that the slant bend type disc has the lowest temperature and thermal stress distributions in the braking condition.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study and analyze the improvement method for the failure examples including the vehicle brake system in actual field. It was verified that the indicator plate of pad wear scratched the brake disk because of wearing after displacement of non- identification parts pad. The caliper of other vehicle was installed with brake system verified the phenomenon produced groove in center point because of one side wear when the pad was not fully contacted with the rub disk by other action surface pressure and pad action condition. It verified that the crack phenomenon fatigue was produced by brake thermal deformation because of decreasing the thickness by grinding to modify the non-uniformed wear of brake disk. It verified that the friction sound was produced by the friction phenomenon because of non-uniformed contact of lining and an alien substance with inner of the drum and lining braking by crack phenomenon with brake drum surface.

  • Creak noise is kind of scratching noise which is usually generated in drum brake system on the vehicle. When driver brakes vehicle or applies parking lever, drum brake shoe moves to the drum side to stop the vehicle. And at that time, moving shoe scratches backing plate ledge surface, and that makes scratching noise in special condition. This study presents how we can generate creak noise in the laboratory and how we can reduce it by experimental approach. Through several and various type of tests, we could generate creak noise with damage on ledge area of the backing plate in the lab and we verified tab type shoe design can reduce this scratching noise. As a result of this study, we notified how creak noise happens in the vehicle, and that tab type design shoe has good performance of ledge area damage based on lab test(rig & dynamometer equipment), and that this can reduce potential risk of creak noise in the field.

  • This paper theoretically analyzed the relations between the out-put braking torque and the wheel cylinder pressure in the leading-trailing drum brake for heavy duty truck as the characteristics of friction in break lining, comparing with the results derived from full-scale inertial brake dynamometer test in actual braking condition to develop reliable brake system in extensive using conditions. The main results obtained are as follows; 1) The characteristic curve representing the relations between BEF (Brake Effectiveness Factor) and Friction coefficient derived from theoretical analysis are consistent with the experimental results of dynamometer test. 2) According to the results of dynamometer test, the friction coefficient of brake lining is subject to initial brake speed and the actual using temperature in brake system.

  • In this paper, the computer simulation analyzed the effective plastic strain and temperature behaviors. The quantitative analyses which proposed the effective mold design of S/CAM shaft was executed. The parameters of forging shape that affected on the optimize conditions that was calculated with simple equation were investigated. it is expected that the developed analysis model and design technique would greatly contribute to the drum brake optimal design considering effective plastic strain and temperature affected behaviors. This development could save more than 20% of production cost and reduced failure rate to more than 30%. By improving the life span of mold from 15,000 to 25,000, financial difficulty of company imposed on a mold manufacture could be overcome.

  • Electric Parking Brake(EPB) is the system operated by electric control actuator. It differs from the mechanical parking brake system which is operated by lever and pedal in need of human power. The EPB system is composed of DC motor, helical and differential epicyclic gear, screw, cables, and sensor. This paper describes about the EPB system mathematically and constructs a modeling of the EPB system using MATLAB/SIMULINK. Especially, SimMechanics library in SIMULINK is used to make each parts of system a module. By made modeling of the friction torque between bolt and nut. Cable tension can be maintained after the motor operating stops.

  • Friction and wear test for non-asbestos material against cast iron drum were carried out to investigate the friction and wear characteristics of brake system. Its friction coefficient and wear volume were measured and compared with those of asbestos friction material. The experiment. was perforated tinder room temperature and various sliding conditions. After each experiment, the sin-faces of friction materials were observed by SEM.

  • 그랩 크레인은 부두 항만으로 모래 및 토사가 퇴적이 되거나, 해저 공사를 하기 위해 다목적으로 사용된다. 그립 크레인의 구성 요소 중 와이어 드럼과 디스크 브레이크 패드는 핵심적인 소모품으로 많은 열이 발생되며 교체 시 가격이 매우 비싸다는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 그랩 크레인의 와이어 드럼에 작용되는 디스크 브레이크 패드에 대한 열화상 진단 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 브레이크 고장 및 디스크 패드 손상 전에 디스크 및 패드 표면의 온도가 비정상적으로 분포하는 특징을 이용하여 열화상을 통해 패드 열 진단 분석을 수행한다. 따라서 기계 부품의 이상을 고장 전에 미리 발견하여 고장으로 인한 피해를 방지할 수 있으며, 과부하 유무를 상시체크하면서 크레인을 작동시켜 패드의 수명 연장과 비용을 절감할 수 있다.

  • 이 논문에서는 탄소/탄소 브레이크 제동중 시스템의 거동을 열탄성 해석을 수행하여 살펴보았고. 파손에 안정적인 디스크의 형상을 찾기 위하여 다양한 형상에 대한 3차원 응력해석을 수행하였다. 탄소/탄소 복합재료의 기계적 물성치가 적층면방향과 두께방향으로 측정되었다. 측정긴 기계적 물성치는 열탄성 해석과 3차원 응력해석을 위한 입력으로 사용 되었다. 로터 클립과 클립 리테이너 사이의 간격은 회전판의 하중전달 미케니즘에 있어서 중요만 인자이다. 간격변화는 기계적 변형과 열 변형으로 분리하여 고려하였다. 클립과 리테이터는 서로 접촉이 발생하지 않았으므로 해석 모델에서 리테이너와 리벳은 제외되었다. 로터 디스크는 반복대칭조건을 사용하여 모델링되었고, 로터 디스크와 로터 클립, 로터 클립과 키 드럼사이의 2중 접촉문제가 고려되었다. 3차인 응력해석의 결과로부터 브레이크 디스크의 키 홀 부분에 응력집중현상이 발생하는 것을 확인하였다. 응력분포는 키 홀 부분에서 접촉면의 회전각과 곡률반경의 변화에 따라 연구 되었다.
