Performance analysis of a call control scheme with buffering and dynamic bandwidth assignment for non-uniform traffic distribution (부하가 일정하지 않은 환경에서 버퍼 사용에 따른 시스템 성능 분석)

  • In this paper, we analyze the call control scheme that is using buffer at new call and handoff call for non-uniform traffic load distribution, the multiple cell environments and the multiple types of services such as voice and data service. Considering the facts, the call admission control method using the effective bandwidth concept is employed in this paper, The bandwidth for a new call and a handoff call is allocated by the number of mobile station and dynamically assigned by taking account of the blocking rate of new calls and the dropping rate of handoff calls. The call control procedure is experimented through a simulation study by dynamically the bandwidth to new and handoff calls based on the blocking rate and the dropping rate. The results show our call control scheme can get a good quality of service for mobile users.

PEDOT:PSS의 성막방법에 따른 유기태양전지용 ITO 투명전극과 PEDOT:PSS의 계면반응 연구

  • 본 연구에서는 PEDOT:PSS와 crystalline-ITO (c-ITO) 박막 계면에서의 화학적 반응을(박리 및 용해 특성)을 관찰하기위해 spin-coating 및 droplet dropping을 통하여 PEDOT:PSS 용액을 코팅하고 이후 화학적 거동에 따른 전기적, 광학적 및 구조적 특성 변화를 관찰하였다. 강산성을 띄는 PEDOT:PSS (Al 4083) 박막의 코팅 전, 0.4T sodalime glass 위에 열처리를 통하여 성막된 c-ITO 투명전극을 15분 동안 상압 오존 공정을 통하여 계면처리함으로써 다른 변수의 영향을 배제하였으며, 표면 처리 후 spin-coating 및 droplet dropping method를 통하여 PEDOT:PSS를 코팅하여 c-ITO와 PEDOT:PSS 계면사이의 화학적 반응의 영향을 시간 경과에 따라 분석하였다. PEDOT:PSS 코팅 후 솔밴트 제거를 위해 hot plate를 이용하여 $110^{\circ}C$로 열처리되었다. Spin-coating 방법과는 달리 droplet dropping 방법을 통해 형성된 c-ITO 투명전극/PEDOT:PSS 계면에서는 spin coating에서 적용된 동일한 공정변수적용에도 불구하고 PEDOT:PSS의 산성으로 인한 ITO 투명전극 표면에서의 화학적 조성변화가(In, Sn, O의 조성의 변화) 발생됨을 x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy 결과를 통해 확인하였다. 뿐만 아니라 계면 조성반응 변화에 따른 전기적 특성 및 광학적 투과율의 열화가 발생됨을 Hall measurement 측정과 UV/Vis spectrometer 결과를 통하여 도출하였다. 본 결과를 통해 c-ITO/PEDOT:PSS 사이에서 발생되는 내산특성/계면 화학변화가 유기태양전지에서의 산화물 투명전극과 유기물 계면 열화현상에 영향을 받을 수 있음을 나타낸다.

Evaluation of Foliar Uptake of Eight Fungicides Using a New Measuring Tool, Congo Red Method

  • Using a new evaluation method, Congo red method, the foliar uptakes of eight fungicides were measured. Among the fungicides tested, fenarimol, myclobutanil, edifenphos, isoprothiolane, and tricyclazole were found to be penetrable (11.0~42.8%), and were continuously absorbed into the leaf regardless of their formulation types. Procymidone, dimethomorpb, and ethaboxan were seldomly absorbed into plant leaf. The uptakes of dimethomorph and ethaboxam were facilitated (18.1~22.7%) in the presence of Koremul-OE-20, as an activator, showing plateau phase at 12h after application. Foliar uptake of fenarimol and myclobutanil into cucumber plant by spray application was larger than that by dropping application, while observed opposite in the cases of dimethomorph and ethaboxam containing activator. Congo red method in conjunction with spraying application used in the present study produced the clear results on foliar uptake of fungicides and therefore proved to be better than the conventional method in which the dropping application of pesticide has been used.

  • Recently, the growth of applications and services over high-speed Internet increase, ATM networks as wide area back-bone has been a major solution. The conventional TCP suite is still the standard protocol used to support upper application on current Internet and uses a window based protocol for flow control in the transport layer. When TCP data uses the UBR service in ATM layer, the control method is also buffer management. If a cell is discarded in ATM layer. one whole packet of TCP will be lost. Which is responsible for most TCP performance degradation and do not offer sufficiently QoS. To solve this problem, Several dropping strategies, such as Tail Drop, EPD, PPO, SPD, FBA, have been proposed to improve the TCP performance over ATM. In this paper, to improve the TCP fairness of end to end, we propose a packet dropping scheme algorithm using two fixed threshold. Under similar condition, we compared our proposed scheme with other dropping strategies. Although the number of VC is increased, simulation results showed that the proposed scheme can allocate more fairly each VC than other schemes.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develope efficient techniques for implementing the dual simplex method. In this paper we proposed one artificial row technique to get an initial dual feasible basic solution, a dual steepest-edge method coupled with a dropping row selection rule, and an anti-degeneracy technique which resembles the EXPAND procedure for the primal simplex method. The efficiency of the above techniques is shown by experiments. Finally, the dual simplex method is shown to be superior to the primal simplex method when it is used in the integer programming.

  • In this paper, we study the new packet dropping scheme using an active queue management algorithm. Active queue management mechanisms differ from the traditional drop tail mechanism in that in a drop tail queue packets are dropped when the buffer overflows, while in active queue management mechanisms, packets may be dropped early before congestion occurs, However, it still incurs high packet loss ratio when the buffer size is not large enough, By detecting congestion and notifying only a randomly selected fraction of connection, RED causes to the global synchronization and fairness problem. And also, it is the biggest problem that the network traffic characteristics need to be known in order to find the optimum average queue length, We propose a new efficient packet dropping method based on the active queue management for congestion control. The proposed scheme uses the per-flow rate and fair share rate estimates. To this end, we present the estimation algorithm to compute the flow arrival rate and the link fair rate, We shows the proposed method improves the network performance because the traffic generated can not cause rapid fluctuations in queue lengths which result in packet loss

  • This paper describes the acoustic emission measurement method to diagnose GIS for particles. We measured and analyzed the signals of acoustic waves using acoustic two types sensors with 125KHz and 50KHz resonant frequency respectively when the particles were dropped on the surfaces of circular plates and inside of GlS tanks. We found that the difference between peak outputs of two sensors depended on the types and materials of particles and the conditions of dropping position. These results showed that the outputs of 125KHz sensor were higher than those of 50KHz sensor in circular plate and 362㎸ GIS tank made of steel and vice versa in circular plate and 800㎸ GIS tank made of aluminum. The ratios outputs of 125KHz sensor to those of 50KHz sensor were 1.4 - 2.37 in 800㎸ GIS tank and were 0.5 - 1.0 in 362㎸ GIS tank. Therefore we knew that adaption of two types acoustic sensors which had different resonant frequencies as a very useful method in diagnosis of GIS.

  • In this paper we develop the integrated software that can compare algorithms of the minimum cost flow problem using PC. The chosen algorithms are the network simplex method, dual network simplex method, and out-of-kilter method, which methods correspond to primal, dual, and primal-dual approach respectively. We also present the improved methods obtaining the initial solution to increase the efficiency of algorithms, and experiment results shown the difference between the entering(dropping) selection rules.

A New Fair Call Admission Control for Integrated Voice and Data Traffic in Wireless Mobile Networks

  • It is essential to guarantee a handoff dropping probability below a predetermined threshold for wireless mobile networks. Previous studies have proposed admission control policies for integrated voice/data traffic in wireless mobile networks. However, since QoS has been considered only in terms of CDP (Call Dropping Probability), the result has been a serious CBP (Call Blocking Probability) unfairness problem between voice and data traffic. In this paper, we suggest a new admission control policy that treats integrated voice and data traffic fairly while maintaining the CDP constraint. For underprivileged data traffic, which requires more bandwidth units than voice traffic, the packet is placed in a queue when there are no available resources in the base station, instead of being immediately rejected. Furthermore, we have adapted the biased coin method concept to adjust unfairness in terms of CBP. We analyzed the system model of a cell using both a two-dimensional continuous-time Markov chain and the Gauss-Seidel method. Numerical results demonstrate that our CAC (Call Admission Control) scheme successfully achieves CBP fairness for voice and data traffic.

  • The proportion of students dropping out of universities is increasing year by year, and they are trying to identify risk factors and eliminate them in advance to prevent dropouts. However, there is a problem in the management of students at risk of dropping out and the forecast is inaccurate because crisis students are managed through the univariable analysis of specific risk factors. In this paper, we identify risk factors for university dropout and analyze multivariables through machine learning method to predict university dropout. In addition, we derive the optimization method by evaluation performance for various prediction methods and evaluate the correlation and contribution between risk factors that cause university dropout.
