A Study on Pressure Drop Characteristics of Refrigerants in Horizontal Flow Boiling

  • An experimental investigation on the flow pattern and pressure drop was carried out for both an adiabatic and a diabatic two-phase flow in a horizontal tube with pure refrigerants R134a and R123 and their mixtures as test fluids. The observed flow patterns were compared to the flow pattern map of Kattan et al., which predicted well the present data over the entire regions of mass velocity in this study. The measured frictional pressure drop in the adiabatic experiments increased with an increase in vapor quality and mass velocity These data were compared to various correlations proposed in the past for the frictional pressure drop. The Chisholm correlation underpredicted the present data both for pure fluids and their mixtures in the entire mass velocity range of 150 to 600 kg/m$^2$s covered in the measurements, white the Friedel correlation was found to overpredict the present data in the stratified and stratified-wavy flow region, and to underpredict in the annular flow region.

  • 중 저준위 방사성폐기물 유리화 공정에서 발생되는 분진을 제거하기 위하여 저온용융로 후단에 금속필터를 장착하여 성능시험 및 필터 적용 평가를 실시하였다. 실험결과 기존의 고온세라믹필터와 유사한 차압특성을 보였으며, 유량 $110Nm^{3}/hr$ 기준으로, 필터 자체에 의한 압력손실은 $25mmH_{2}O$, 분진 잔류층에 의한 압력손실은 $67mmH_{2}O$ 정도였다. 따라서 기저차압은 $92mmH_{2}O$ 정도임을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 SEM-EDS 분석결과 대부분의 차압은 멤브레인층의 표면에서 발생된 것으로 판단되며, 열화현상에 의한 부식문제등도 발견되지 않았다. 따라서 금속필터의 경우 유리화설비에 적용 가능한지를 분석하고, 장기시험을 통한 충분한 검증이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

KAU 기계적 달 복제토 개발 및 달착륙선 착륙장치의 낙하시험 (Development of KAU Mechanical Lunar Simulants and Drop Test of Lunar Landing Gears)

  • 연구에서는 달환경을 고려한 달착륙선 충격흡수장치의 시험장치 구성 및 시험을 수행하였다. 달착륙선은 착륙 시 충격 완화를 위하여 토양이 있는 지역을 착륙지점으로 선정한다. 착륙 시 발생하는 달착륙선의 가속도는 착지면의 특성의 영향을 받아 결정된다. 달착륙선의 충격흡수장치의 시험에서 달 토양을 직접 사용할 수 없기 때문에, 복제토를 사용하여 착륙시험을 수행해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 NASA의 달탐사 프로젝트를 통해 획득된 달 토양의 정보를 기반으로 달 토양과 기계적 성질이 유사한 달 복제토 KAUMLS를 개발하여 달착륙선 충격흡수장치의 낙하시험을 수행하였으며, 지면특성에 따른 충격특성 분석을 위하여 단단한 철판과 건조된 모래위에서의 낙하시험을 수행하였다.

Immediate Effect of Kinesiology Taping on Gait Function in Stroke Patients with Foot Drop

  • Background: Recently, the kinesiology taping (KT) method was reported to be effective in improving walking ability in foot drop patients after stroke, but the clinical basis is still unclear. Objectives: The KT method was compared with ankle-foot orthotics (AFO) to investigate gait ability in foot drop patients after stroke. Design: Crossover study design. Methods: In this study, 11 stroke patients with foot drop participated. Walking ability of all subjects for both conditions (KT and AFO) was measured using the GAITRite system. The order of application of the two conditions was determined randomly by drawing lots. Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to compare walking ability between the two conditions. The level of statistical significance was set at P<.05. Results: There were no significant differences between the KT and AFO methods in terms of velocity, cadence, step length, and stride length (P>.05, all). Conclusion: This study recommends KT as an alternative to the AFO, since KT provides evidence of preventing of foot drops and improving gait ability in stroke patient.

캡슐 하단부 구조변경에 따른 압력강하 및 진동특성 (Pressure Drop and Vibration Characteristics of the Capsule with the Modification of Bottom Structures)

  • The bottom structure of an instrumented capsule is a part which is joined at the receptacle of the flow tube in the reactor in-core. A geometrical change of the bottom structure has an effect on the pressure drop and the vibration of the capsule. The out-pile test to evaluate the structural integrity of the material capsule called 04M-17U was performed by using a single channel and a half core test loop. From the pressure drop test, the optimized diameter of the cone shape's bottom structure which satisfies HANARO's flow requirement (19.6 kg/s) is 71 mm. The maximum displacement of the capsule measured at the half core test loop is lower than 1.0 mm. From the analysis results, it is found that the test hole will not be interfered with near the flow tubes because its displacement due to the cooling water is very small at 0.072 mm. The fundamental frequency of the capsule under water is 9.64 Hz. It is expected that the resonance between the capsule and the fluid flow due to the cooling water in HANARO's in-core will not occur. Also, the new bottom structure of a solid cone shape with 71 mm in diameter will be applicable to the material and special capsules in the future.

ER 유체로 작동되는 벨브의 제작 및 성능실험 (Design and Performance Test of Valve Operated by ER Fluids)

  • Recently ER fluids are put to practical use in fluid power industry field. As only with electrical signal change to the valve in which ER fluid flowing, ER fluid flow is controlled, so devepment of simple ER valves have been tried. In this case a technical problem is to check the pressure drop caused from flow rate change in valves because the pressure drop is very small. In this study ER valves are designed and manufactured, and small pressure drop induced from flow rate change is checked by pressure transducer which is made with appling strain gage. The ER valves and pressure drop check method are considered to be applied to the fluid power industry.

  • 지반 변형계수를 측정하는 방법중에서 원위치 시험법은 반력으로 대형 장비가 필요하고 많은 측정시간이 소요되므로 시험횟수가 제한되는 단점이 있다. 최근에는 이런 문제점을 보완하고 보다 신속하게 측정할 수 있는 장비들이 개발되어 적용되고 있다. 즉, Falling Weight Deflectometer(FWD), Light Drop Weight Tester(LDWT), Geogauge등이 있다. 이중에서 Light Drop Weight Tester(LDWT)는 경부 고속철도 공사에 ‘철도공사를 위한 경량 낙하 시험기’라는 명칭으로 적용된 이래로 여러 기관에 도입되어 노반의 품질관리 및 성토관리용으로 국내 조건에 맞는 기준을 정립하기 위한 연구가 진행중이다. 본 연구에서는 현장에서 지반변형계수를 쉽게 측정하는 방안을 제안하기 위해 독일 Stendal의 동적 평판 재하시험 장비(Light Drop Weight Tester(LDWT))인 ZFG 02를 이용하여 현장과 토조에서 동적변형계수를 측정하였다. 동일한 지반에서 실시한 평판재하시험 결과에 의한 정적 변형계수와의 상관성을 분석하였다.

연료탱크의 낙하 시험 시뮬레이션 (Drop Test Simulation of a Fuel Tank)

  • 항공기의 기체 생존성에 있어서 연료탱크는 중요한 부분이다. 회전익 항공기의 연료탱크는 자기 밀폐성과 내충돌성의 기능을 필요로 한다. 이에 따라 고기능유연연료탱크를 필요로한다. 이 논문에서는 상용 소프트웨어인 MSC.DYTRAN을 이용하여 연료탱크의 낙하시험을 시뮬레이션 하였다. 연료탱크 낙하 시험 시 시험 큐브의 파손 없이 내충돌성 요구조건을 만족하는지 알아보았다.

Sn-xAg-0.5Cu 무연 솔더의 파손특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Failure Characteristics of Sn-xAg-0.5Cu Lead-free Solder)

  • This paper presents an experimental study on the failure characteristics of SnAgCu lead-free solder balls. To estimate the effect of Ag, three types of SnAgCu balls are first prepared by varying the weight percent of Ag(1.0, 3.0, 4.0 wt%) and then analyzed by reliability tests such as thermal shock, high speed ball shear, and drop tests. Thermal shock test reveals that the higher the weight percent of Ag is, the longer the fatigue lift becomes. To the contrary, high speed ball-shear test and drop test show that the shear strength and the fracture toughness of solder balls are inversely proportional to the weight percent of Ag, respectively, Reasons for these observations will be further investigated In the future work.
