보강판의 국부변형 손상과 잔류 강도의 실험연구 (Experiments on the Denting Damage and Residual Strength of Stiffened Plates)

  • This study reports a series of drop impact tests performed to generate denting damages on stiffened plates and their residual ultimate strength tests under axial compression. The models were fabricated of general structural steel, and each model has six longitudinal stiffeners and two transverse frames. Among six fabricated models, four were damaged, and two were left intact for reference. To investigate the effects of collision velocity and impact location on the extent of damage, the drop height and the impact location were changed in each impact test. After performing the collision tests, the ultimate axial compression tests were conducted to investigate the residual strengths of the damaged stiffened plates. Finite element analyses were also carried out using a commercial package Abaqus/Explicit. The material properties obtained from a quasi-static tensile tests were used, and the strain-rate sensitivity was considered. After importing the collision simulation results, the ultimate strength calculations were carried out and their results were compared with the test data for the validation of the finite element analysis method.

주위기체내에서의 두 액체분무간의 유동간섭현상에 대한 정상적 고찰 (An Experimental Study on the Behavior of Twin-Spray with Flow Interaction in a Condensable Environment)

  • The effects of flow interaction between adjacent sprays in twin-spray system on the spatial distribution of injected liquid (water) and drop size distribution in condensable (steam) environment were carefully observed through experiments. The spatial distribution of injected liquid in twin-spray system appears to be more uniform than the simple superposition of the spatial distributions of liquid obtained from each individual spray. Drop size distribution was obtained by using the immersion sampling technique. It was found that, in the twin-spray, the larger numbers of small drops are collected throughout the spraying region due to the increase of entrainment velocity of ambient steam compared with the case of simple superposition of each individual spray. Moreover, in the overlapped portion of the twin-spray, the drop size distribution was changed also due to the collision between large drops. As a result, the behavior of twin-spray system (and eventually multiple-spray system) can not be predicted precisely by simple superposition of the behaviors of each constituting spray. Hence, for the design of multiple spray system, the effect of flow interaction between sprays should be taken into account seriously.

분무간 충돌시스템에 대한 수치해석적 연구 (A Numerical Study on the Spray-to-Spray Impingement System)

  • The present article deals with the numerical calculations for the inter-spray impingement of two diesel sprays under the conditions of high injection pressure. The Wave model involving the cavitation effect inside the nozzle was used for describing the atomization process. In particular, a hybrid model for drop collision was newly suggested in this study and compared with the O'Rourk's model, which has been widely used for diesel sprays. The impingement angles of 60 and 90 degrees were considered for simulation of non-evaporative diesel sprays. The calculated results for tip penetration were compared with experimental data and the Sauter Mean Diameter(SMD) characteristic was analyzed. It was concluded that the hybrid model slightly shows better agreement with experimental data than the O'Rourke's model. However, the more elaborate study should be needed for better understanding of spray-to-spray impingement phenomena.

자동차 보강재 경량화을 위한 충격 실험장치 개발 (Development of an impact test device for Light-weight Automotive Reinforcements)

  • 본 자동차 충돌사고는 인간이 자동차 문명을 발전시킨 이래 누려온 편의성의 대가이기 때문에 많은 사람들이 충돌사고 시 승객의 사망과 상해를 기술적으로 감소시키기 위해 여러 가지 노력을 기울여 왔다. 도로교통공단 통계자료에 따르면 승용차 충돌사고로 인한 사망자 충 측면충돌사고에 의한 사망자가 정면충돌사고의 사망자보다 많다. 자동차 설계자들은 이에 대응하기 위해 도어 내부에 임팩트 빔(Impact Beam)과 임팩트 프레임(Impact Frame)이라는 보강재를 추가시켜 왔다. 이러한 보강재 개발을 위해 충돌실험은 필수적이다. 충돌실험의 경우 많은 비용과 시간이 소모되게 된다. 본 연구는 임팩터를 떨어뜨려 충격량과 변형량을 얻을 수 있는 실험장치 개발이 목적이다. 경제적 비용을 줄일 수 있는 이상적인 실험장치 구성을 제시하고, 수치해석 값과 실험결과 값을 비교 분석한 결과 충돌 시작 후 3.5E-3sec에서 각각 3.49E-3, 3.99E-3의 변형량을 나타냈다.

제한된 공간내 분무의 유동특성 실험 (Experimental Study on the Flow Characteristic of a Confined Ppray)

  • A series of experiment has been performed on the spray characteristics in a cylindrical confined space with the injection pressure taken as a parameter. By using a single-hole patternator and the Malvern particle sizer, the spray mass flux, drop size and volume concentration distributions along the radial and axial directions were obtained ; the line-of- sight data by Malvern particle sizer have been converted to the ring-of-sight data by using the tomographical transformation techniqe. The experimental results show that, due to the restriction on the ambient gas entrainment by the wall boundary, the effective spray angle is increasing. The spray drops were measured to be smaller in the confined space because of a large number of floating small drops by recirculation of the gas phase and the breakup of large drops by the wall collision. Also the details on the flow behavior of the confined spray are discussed.

Compared with the volume-of-fluid method based on a non-smooth volume-fraction function, the LS method can calculate an interface curvature more accurately by using a smooth distance function. Also, it is straightforward to implement for two-phase flows in complex geometries unlike the VOF method requiring much more complicated geometric calculations. The LS method is applied to simulation of inkjet process, thin film pattering and droplet collisions.

Neighbor-Based Probabilistic Rebroadcast Routing Protocol for Reducing Routing Overhead in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

  • In Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) Application, routing protocol is essential to ensure successful data transmission to all nodes. Ad-hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV) Protocol is a reactive routing protocol that is mostly used in MANET applications. However, the protocol causes Route Request (RREQ) message flooding issue due to the broadcasting method at the route request stage to find a path to a particular destination, where the RREQ will be rebroadcast if no Request Response (RREP) message is received. A scalable neighbor-based routing (SNBR) protocol was then proposed to overcome the issue. In the SNBR protocol, the RREQ message is only rebroadcast if the number of neighbor nodes less than a certain fix number, known as drop factor. However, since a network always have a dynamic characteristic with a dynamic number of neighbor nodes, the fix drop factor in SNBR protocol could not provide an optimal flooding problem solution in a low dense network environment, where the RREQ message is continuously rebroadcast RREQ message until reach the fix drop factor. To overcome this problem, a new broadcasting method as Dynamic SNBR (DSNBR) is proposed, where the drop factor is determined based on current number of neighbor nodes. This method rebroadcast the extra RREQ messages based on the determined dynamic drop factor. The performance of the proposed DSNBR is evaluated using NS2 and compared with the performance of the existing protocol; AODV and SNBR. Simulation results show that the new routing protocol reduces the routing request overhead, energy consumption, MAC Collision and enhances end-to-end delay, network coverage ratio as a result of reducing the extra route request messages.

세미트레일러의 회전궤적을 고려한 물방울교통섬의 설치 방안 연구 (Design of Drop Island to Accommodate the Turning Trajectory of Semi-Trailer)

  • 기존의 삼각교통섬은 일반적으로 우회전차로와 직진차로의 분리를 위하여 포장면 상단에 연석 등을 이용하여 돌출된 시설물을 사용한다. 그러나, 기존의 삼각교통섬을 좁은 차로의 교차로에 설치할 경우, 대형자동차가 좌회전시 대향 차로를 침범하여 대향 차로에 대기하는 자동차와 충돌할 가능성이 높다. 따라서 대향 차로를 분리하여, 대형자동차가 교차로 회전시 대향 차로를 침범하는 것을 방지해야 할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 우리나라 여건에서 기존의 삼각교통섬만으로 이루어진 평면교차로와 물방울교통섬이 추가된 평면교차로를 비교하였다. 먼저, 안전성 측면에서 대형자동차의 회전궤적을 고려하여 물방울교통섬의 설치위치 및 형태를 결정하는 방법을 제시하였으며, 운전자 및 주행 쾌적성, 보행자, 확폭량, 경제성측면에서 물방울교통섬이 기존 삼각교통섬에 비해 상대적으로 우위에 있음을 분석하였다.

사고로 지면에 추락낙하 충돌하는 고준위폐기물 처분용기에 발생하는 충격력 (Impact Force Applied on the Spent Nuclear Fuel Disposal Canister that Accidentally Drops and Collides onto the Ground)

  • 본 논문에서는 강체 간 충돌에 의해 발생하는 충격력을 얻는 수학적 방법이 이론적으로 연구되었다. 이 이론적 방법은 사고로 지면에 추락낙하 하는 고준위폐기물 처분용기에 가해지는 충격력을 구하는 데에 적용되었다. 이 연구로부터 고준위폐기물 처분용기의 구조 안전성 설계에 요구되는 충격력이 이론적으로 유도되었다. 이론연구의 주된 내용은 두 강체의 충돌 시 강체운동학과 운동방정식에 관한 것이다. 이를 토대로 두 물체 간 충돌 시 발생하는 충격력을 구하는 일반적인 충격이론이 개발되었다. 이 충격이론을 처분장에서 처분용기 운송 시 운반차량에서 사고로 추락낙하 하여 지면과 충돌하는 처분용기에 발생하는 충격력을 구하는 문제에 적용하여 충격력에 대한 수학적 근사해를 이론적으로 구하였다. 동시에 컴퓨터코드를 이용한 수치해석을 수행하여 구한 수치해를 수학적 근사해와 비교하였다.
