Stress drops of Brune's single-corner ${\omega}^2$ source model were estimated for the earthquakes (2.0$M3.5{\sim}4.0$ and increase up to $M4.5{\sim}5.0$ above which the level of the stress drop could be assumed to be flat or decrease according to whether the rupture process accompanies buried fault or surface rupturing. The converted data of corner frequency and seismic moment were nicely fitted to the relation of $M_0{\propto}f^3$ but show systematically higher corner frequencies for $M_0>10^15$ Nm. This relationship enables systematic evaluation of a scaling relation between magnitude and stress drop. The inverted level of the stress drop is comparable to the recent studies conducted domestic and abroad. A result of lower stress drop estimated by Jun(1991) is supposed to be due to the use of low frequency spectra and existence of two-comer source model around the Korean Peninsula.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate differences of landing strategy between people with or without chronic ankle instability (CAI) during double-leg drop landing. Method: 34 male adults participated in this study (CAI = 16, Normal = 18). Participants performed double-leg drop landing task on a 30 cm height and 20 cm horizontal distance away from the force plate. Lower Extremities Kinetic and Kinematic data were obtained using 8 motion capture cameras and 2 force plates and loading rate was calculated. Independent samples t-test were used to identify differences between groups. Results: Compared with normal group, CAI group exhibits significantly less hip internal rotation angle (CAI = 1.52±8.12, Normal = 10.63±8.44, p = 0.003), greater knee valgus angle (CAI = -6.78±5.03, Normal = -12.38 ±6.78, p = 0.011), greater ankle eversion moment (CAI = 0.0001±0.02, Normal = -0.03±0.05, p = 0.043), greater loading Rate (CAI = 32.65±15.52, Normal = 18.43±10.87, p = 0.003) on their affected limb during maximum vertical Ground Reaction Force moment. Conclusion: Our results demonstrated that CAI group exhibits compensatory movement to avoid ankle inversion during double-leg drop landing compared with normal group. Further study about how changed kinetic and kinematic affect shock absorption ability and injury risk in participants with CAI is needed.
The purpose of this study was to analyse badminton players' drop-shots, in order' to make players understand the principles of drop-shot motion in badminton. Three dimensional analysis was used to measure movements such as the time required per section, the change of center of gravity, joint angle and speed, and joint speed. The results of this study revealed as follows: (1) top players are faster than amateurs in the total time required per section; (2) top players moved more in the x-axis and z-axis, while amateurs moved more in the y-axis; (3) the inclination of amateurs was greater than that of top players in all phases; (4) amateurs showed larger angle on the shoulder joints than top players in the first phase, while top players showed larger angle on the shoulder joint than amateurs in the second and third phase. Amateurs' angle was larger on angle joint in the first phase than top players' ones, while top players' angle was larger in the third phase than amateurs; (5) the speed of racket head of top players was faster than that of amateurs; and the velocity of the center of gravity of amateurs was greater than that of the top players. The findings of this study were that gravity decreases during impact and then the velocity increases to perform the follow-through and making the swing fast by increasing the speed of the racket head is most important.

This paper is the first paper among two papers which constitute the paper about the rigid body dynamic analysis on the spent nuclear disposal canister under accidental drop and impact on to the ground. This paper performed the general theoretical study on the rigid body dynamic analysis. Through this study the impulsive force which is occurring in the spent nuclear fuel disposal canister under accidental drop and impact to the ground and required for the structural safety design of the canister is intended to be theoretically formulated. The main content of the theoretical study is about the equation of motion in the multibody dynamics. On the basis of this study the impulsive force which is occurring in the multibody in the case of collision between multibody is theoretically formulated. The application of this theoretically formulated impulsive force to computing the impulsive force occurring in the spent nuclear fuel disposal canister under accidental drop and impact to the ground is investigated.

The purpose of this study was to analysis biomechanics of the lower extremities injury the heights(40cm, 60cm, 80cm) of jump box as performed depth jump motion by 6 females aerobic athletes and 6 non-experience females students. The event of depth jump were set to be drop, landing and jump. The depth jump motions on the force plate were filmed using a digital video cameras, and data were collected through the cinematography and force plate. On the basis of the results analyzed, the conclusions were drawn as follows: 1. The landing time of skill group was shorter than unskill group at 40cm, 60cm drop height during drop-landing-jump phase especially. The landing time of 60cm drop height was significant between two group(p<.05). 2. The peak GRF of sagittal and frontaI direction following drop height improve was variety pattern and the peak vertical force of 40cm drop height was significantly(p<.05). 3. The magnitude of peak passive force was not increase to change the drop height. 4. The peak passive forces was significant at 40cm drop height between two groups(p<.05)
The aim of this study was to investigate and identify the differences in lower extremity energy dissipation strategies between drop-landing and countermovement-jump maneuvers. Fourteen recreational athletes(Age : $23.3{\pm}2.1years$, Height : $172.3{\pm}4.0cm$, Weight : $69.2{\pm}4.7kg$) were recruited and instructed to perform drop-landing from 45 cm height and countermovement-jump from 45 cm to 20 cm height. The landing phase was taken as the time between initial contact and peak knee flexion. A motion-capture system consisting of eight infra-red cameras was employed to collect kinematics data at a sampling rate of 200 Hz and a force-plate was used to collect GRF data at a sampling rate of 2000 Hz. Paired t-test was performed to determine the difference in kinematics and kinetics variables between each task. During the countermovement-jump task, all of lower extremity joint ROM and the hip joint eccentric moment were decreased and the ankle joint plantarflexion moment was increased than drop-landing task. In the eccentric work during countermovement-jump task, the ankle joint displayed greater while knee and hip joint showed lesser than drop-landing. Therefore, the knee joint acted as the key energy dissipater during drop-landing while the ankle joint contributed the most energy dissipation during countermovement-jump. Our findings collectively indicated that different energy dissipation strategies were adopted for drop-landing and countermovement-jump.

High pressure injection is recently used to reduce the emissions and increase the power of DI diesel engine. This high pressure injection makes the spray strike the cylinder wall. This spray/wall impingement is known to affect the emission and performance of DI diesel engine such that it is very important to know the spray/wall impingement process. In this study, multidimensional computer program KIVA-II was used to clarify the effect of spray wall impingement by different injection spray angle with the spray/wall impingement model consiedering rebound and slide motion and also the improved submodel for liquid breakup, drop distortion model.
A study has been carried out on the instability of a conical liquid sheet by using the linear instability theory. Various analytical methods using the Kelvin-Helmholtz instability theory were tried to examine the wave growth on cylindrical liquid sheets. Cylinderical liquid sheets were extended to the case with the conical sheets. Perturbations due to tangential motion as well as longitudinal one were taken into account. And it was assumed the the breakup occurs when amplitude ratio exceeds exp(12), drop sizes were predicted only by theoretical approach. The predicted drop size agreed well with the measured Sauter mean diameter, $D_{32}$.
The purpose of this study was to develop an innovative training model and method to improve the posture and motion, while pulling up during weight lifting by evaluating the problems of Korean weight lifters performing this motion. To investigate the effectiveness of the new training method substitute members of the Korean national weight lifting team performed both the original pull up technique and new pulling training technique while kinetics and kinematics were recorded. For this study, the first phase of the new training method is more appropriate than the original training with the pull up drop slow deadlift to the knee joint. For the second phase, the new training motion is deemed to be more effective than the current box deadlift motion. Also, this new motion corrects the posture as there is more anterior hip joint motion(about 10 cm) and the knee flexes to about 120 degrees. For the third phase, starting about 10cm above the knee the box snatch high pull up is identified as a more suitable training method. For the forth phase, the box top snatch method is judged to be a more effective training method than the original top snatch training method.

The purpose of this study was to assess knee joint loading in the target knee during a golf swing compared to loading rates of high impact activities such as cutting and drop landings. Nine healthy competitive golfers completed golf swings with the target foot both straight and externally rotated 30 degrees, as well as drop landings and cutting maneuvers. Motion capture data was collected at 240 Hz and ground reaction force data was collected at 2400 Hz. The frontal and transverse knee moments were examined using repeated measures ANOVA through SPSS. The abduction moments were higher in golf swings as compared to the other high impact activities (p=.010), while the external rotation moments were lower (p=.003). There were no significant differences between externally rotated and neutral golf swings. These results suggest moments applied to the knee during a golf swing are similar to those applied during a high impact activity.
