  • 대학이 급변하는 환경에 적극적으로 대처하고, 경쟁력을 제고하기 위해서는 대학 시스템의 근본적인 변화가 필수적이다. 이를 위해서 대학은 기존의 교육 공급자 입장에서의 행정 위주의 운영 방식에서 탈피하여 대학 본연의 목표를 재정립하고 교육과 연구의 수월성 을 확보하여야 하며, 이 목표를 성취하기 위해 대학의 자원을 합리적으로 투입·분배하는 과 정과 방법을 설계·구현하여야 한다. 대학의 정보화는 이러한 경영혁신의 중요한 추진 도구 가 될 수 있다. 대학의 정보화는 이러한 경영혁신의 중요한 추진 도구가 될 수 있다. 본 논 문에서는 대학 본연의 목표인 교육·연구를 효과적으로 지원하기 위한 대학정보화 추진의 틀 을 제시하였고, 정보화 대상 업무 중 중점 업무를 분류·정리하였으며 정보화 추진 전략을 수립하였다. 또한, 대학정보화의 사례를 들어 구체적인 정보화 추진 과정을 소개하였다.

  • This paper presents a simple high power audio class amplifier which is controlled by a new current control switching method. Although this class D amplifier has an only one current control loop with the proposed switching method, a good performance can be obtained. And a novel switching strategy for driving stereo signal amplifier circuit with three phase full bridge is discussed also. With the simulation and experimental results, usefulness of the proposed amplifier is confirmed.

  • This paper proposes a new haptic cue vehicle accelerator pedal device using magnetorheological (MR) brake. As a first step, an MR fluid-based haptic cue device is devised to be capable of rotary motion of accelerator pedal. Under consideration of spatial limitation, design parameters are optimally determined to maximize control torque using finite element method. The proposed haptic cue device is then manufactured and integrated with accelerator pedal. Its field-dependant torque is experimentally evaluated. Vehicle system emulating gear shifting and engine speed is constructed in virtual environment and communicated with the haptic cue device. Haptic cue algorithm using the feed-forward control algorithm is formulated to achieve optimal gear shifting in driving. Control performances are experimentally evaluated via feed-forward control strategy and presented in time domain.

Cognitive Biases in Perceiving Feedback LooP Dominance

  • Feedback loop dominance is a key concept to understand structural driving forces of system behavior. In this paper, we propose two kinds of shifts in dominant feedback loops: continuous shifts (CS) and discrete shifts (DS). With the help of questionnaires, we verified three hypotheses regarding cognitive biases in perceiving the shifts in dominant feedback loops: 1) failure in perceiving continuous shifts, 2) tendency of decision making based on discrete shifts, and 3) different perception on the dominant feedback loops between level variables and rate variables. We discussed the implication of these cognitive biases on time delay and timing strategy in decision-making processes.

수학교육에서 시각화와 직관 (Visualization and Intuition in Mathematics Education)

  • Visualization have strong driving force that enables us to recognize abstract mathematics by direct and specific method in school mathematics. Specially, visual thinking helps in effective problem solution via intuition in mathematics education. So, this paper examines the meaning of visualization, the role of visualization in intuitive problem solving process and the methods for enhancement of intuition using visualization in mathematics education. Visualization is an useful tool for illuminating of intuition in mathematics problem solving. It means that visualization makes us understand easily mathematical concepts, principles and rules in students' cognitive structure. And it makes us experience revelation of anticipatory intuition which finds clues and strategy in problem solving. But, we must know that visualization can have side effect in mathematics learning. So, we have to search for the methods of teaching and learning which can increase students' comprehension about mathematics through visualization and minimize side aspect through visualization.

  • In this paper, the Power Management System(PMS) which based on a decision making system according to power strategy is proposed and implemented. PMS is designed to have functions of power monitoring. controlling, synchronizing load sharing and monitoring of driving engine, etc. PMS consists of the internet communication system(ICS). Remote Management System(RMS) and Sensor Driver System (SDS) ICS transmits the monitoring and supervisory data via Internet to Remote Management System(RMS) in real-time SDS detects various power system data on local generator and utility via I/O interface system. I/O interface system receives various status data and outputs control signals. Implemented PMS is tested with dummy signal to verify proposed functions and shows good results. For future study implemented PMS will be tested under real load condition to merchandize.

  • The Eco-2 Project presents a win-win strategy for the environment and for the economy (ECO-2 is an abbreviation of Ecology and Economy), The project was initiated by the Korean Ministry of the Environment to promote the development of an environmental industry technology as a means of driving national development in this sector. Our project work belongs to the category of integrated environment management technology, and is described as a development and utilization of risk assessment and analysis system for integrated environmental management in municipal and industrial areas. The goal of our project is to develop available system software in health and ecological risk assessment and to offer it as Decision Support System (DSS) to aid the effective management of environmental risk in municipal and industrial areas in Korea.

  • There are many control strategies for HEV in today. Expanding motor-driving and operating at good-efficient point in engine is the key of the HEV control to increase fuel economy. There are two types of HEV supervisory control. One is rule-based control and the other is optimization control. MAX-SOC control, thermostat control, baseline status control and state-machine control are in deterministic RBC. It is simple, but powerful and easy to apply in real-time circumstance. In this study, we analysis these four control strategies in RBC (Rule-based control) and identify the each advantage and disadvantage.

A Case Study on the Financial Value of Host University Engagement between the University of Surrey and the Surrey Research Park

  • The value of universities in driving economic development has been understood for a long time. However, with the increasing importance of the 'science-entrepreneurship' relationship in giving science its modern economic value there is growing interest in how this dynamic can be enhanced. One of the strategies that has been widely adopted has been the creation of research-science-technology parks although commonly these projects were being established prior to the theoretical approaches that justify their development. This paper reports on a study that measured the financial value of the links between the University of Surrey and tenants on its Surrey Research Park project and also looks forward at strategies being adopted by the University concerning the continuous improvement of its technology transfer offering to increase the value of these links and put some empirical data behind the claims of the value of research-science-technology parks as part of a wider innovation strategy.

  • Both an optimal design of the engine operating strategy and fuel economy prediction technique for a HEV under the vehicle driving condition are very crucial for the development of vehicle fuel economy performance. Thus, in this study, engine operating characteristics of PRIUS III were analyzed with vehicle running conditions and the correlations between vehicle tractive power and fuel consumption were introduced. As a result, fuel economy performance of PRIUS III with various test modes were predicted and verified. Errors of predicted fuel economy were between -5% and -1%.
