  • In this study, underdeveloping heavy-load driving servo control system, which are composed of controller, electro-hydraulic servo-valve, hydraulic motor, reduction gear box, turret slew bearing and turret structure, are investigated to simplify the control system. To estimate the effect of each component, model ins and simulation of linear and nonlinear system are carried out. In the first stage, to prove the retiability of performance estimation pro-gram, simulation results are compared with experimental results. In the second stage, the effect of each component of control system is evaluated and then a simplified control system is suggested.

  • The propulsion Motor system has changed from the DC motor system to the induction motor system. Although the induction motor system has almost reached the stage of maturity, this system also need changed to the IPMSM system for direct drive without reduction gear.   • Recently, many types of electric vehicles including a heavy duty vehicle have been developed and released because of the better fuel economy and less gas products. In this study, research about an electric bus which utilizes the wheel motor drive system was conducted. The wheel motor is a motor connected to the wheel directly only with a simple gear so that the developer can utilize the space efficiently and the whole system efficiency will be better because of simple structure. However, because it is different from former types of vehicles which use the differential gear, the development of the integrated control logic is required in order to meet the vehicle stability and driving performance. The developed control logic is composed with direct yaw moment control, regenerative braking control and slip control logics. It is compared to the control logics which does not consist of direct yaw moment control and slip control when the vehicle is exposed in tough situations. For the unification of the control logic, a few maps were developed and applied to determine the output torque of each motor according to the driving status. As a result, it is shown that the developed control logic is more safe and well follow the target speed than the other control logic applied simulations.

  • Recently, with the increase in the use of UAV(unmanned aerial vehicles), research on horizontal maintenance stations that can take off and land in various environments has been actively conducted. These stations can safely land UAV through multiple DOF(degrees of freedom) or at least 2-DOF-based actuator actuation. Among them, many researchers are dealing with the multi-DOF stewart platform due to its high safety. However, the stewart platform requires high-precision control technology because it requires a lot of torque to actuate according to the load action. Therefore, in this paper, to solve the mentioned problem, a bevel gear-based 2-DOF horizontal maintenance station system is proposed. The proposed system is configured to prevent damage due to air resistance when maintaining ships and to install it in a small space. Also, in terms of system configuration, the bevel gear-based horizontal maintenance system has the main advantage of being able to take off and land UAVs of various sizes through the replacement of station pads. The driving of the system consists of a simple form that can control the motor by adjusting the rotation speed of the motor according to the sea waveform.

  • This paper introduces an enhanced condition monitoring and diagnosis system recently developed for rotating machinery. In the system, the data aquisition/monitoring signal processing, machine condition classifier, case-based reasoning and demonstration modules are effectively integrated with user-friendliness so that machine operators can easily monitor and diagnose the status of rotating machinery in operation. Some of the new features include the directional spectrum, case-based reasoning and neural network techniques. And the demonstrator modules for fault diagnosis of a Bear driving system and for basic understanding of the rotor dynamics are provided to help the potential users better understand the system.

Analysis of the axle load of an agricultural tractor during plow tillage and harrowing

  • Analysis of the load on the tractor during field operations is critical for the optimal design of the tractor. The purpose of this study was to do a load analysis of an agricultural tractor during plowing and harrowing. First, a load measurement system was developed and installed in a 71 kW agricultural tractor. Strain-gauges with a telemetry system were installed in the shaft located between the axles and the wheels, and used to measure the torque of the four driving axles. Second, field experiments were conducted for two types of field operations (plowing, harrowing), each at two gear levels (M2, M3). Third, load analysis was conducted according to field operation and gear level. At M2 gear selection for plowing, the maximum, minimum, and average (S. D.) torque values were 13,141 Nm; 4,381 Nm; and 6,971 Nm (${\pm}397.8Nm$, respectively). For harrowing, at M2 gear selection, torque values were, 14,504 Nm; 1,963 Nm; and 6,774 Nm (${\pm}459.4Nm$, respectively). At M3 gear selection for plowing, the maximum, minimum, and average (S. D.) torque values were,17,098 Nm; 6,275 Nm; and 8,509 Nm (${\pm}462.4Nm$, respectively). For harrowing at M3 gear selection, maximum, minimum, and average (S. D.) torque values were, 20,266 Nm; 2,745 Nm; and 9,968 Nm (${\pm}493.2$). The working speed of the tractor increased by approximately 143% when shifted from M2 (7.2 km/h) to M3 (10.3 km/h); while during plow tillage and harrowing, the load of the tractor increased approximately 1.2 times and 1.5 times, respectively.

  • This paper presents results of the development of the Turbo-generator system with structure which is HSG(High Speed Generator) installed to high speed gas-turbine engine directly. Turbo-generator with high speed motor-generator directly has many advantages aspects of weight, size, lubrication system and complexity of the system compared of conventional turbo-generator system with gear-box. But because of direct high speed operation of the high speed generator, we have to need stable high speed motor driving algorithm for perfect engine ignition when gas turbine starting. Also we have to need design of the PCU(Power Conditioning Unit) for converting high speed AC output power to conventional AC power or needed DC power.

A Study on the Mold System of Bicycles Gear for Driving Safety (주행 안전을 위한 자전거 기어의 프레스금형에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, bicycle has means of effective healthy transportation, and riding the bicycles is considered as popular recreational and sporting activities. Also, the saddle, steering system, driving device and braking device are researched briskly because of consumer's need for driving performance and comfort. Especially, the importance of a cassette responsible for transmission function by transmitting power to the drive shaft through the chain is very focused. The writer conducted structural analysis for the sprocket of each level using the ANSYS widely used for the analysis. Speed shifting performance was enhanced by minimization / simplification of shifting point through a sort of tooth profile of the cassette. By partitioning a clear value type and other shifting point, it has been modified to enable smooth speed-shifting. In addition, as titanium precision forming process, this study studied the molding technique by blanking and dies forging for mass production of the cassette. so it could be expected that the entire drive train would utilize that in the future. The stamping process capability for thin materials for the mass production of the sprockets is applicable to producing automobile parts, so lightweight component production is likely to be possible through that, for the safety of driving.

보일러 급수 펌프의 과도진동 연구 사례 - 실험 및 신호처리를 중심으로 -

  • The boiler feed pump located at a power plant has been experienced a severe vibration since the plant began to service in early 1980. The research is focused on the field measurement and implementation of simple signal processing techniques in order to provide realistic and effective solution which could be implemented into the plant. Based on the root cause analysis for the trouble-making pump system, the driving part gear in the fluid coupling system is identified as a potential source. The followed verification test confirms the analytical result. The test result shows that vibration reduction obtained after the gear replacement reaches up 15.8 dB, which is 1/6 times of the vibration level compared to that of the troble-making pump. The measured vibration level of the pump satisfies the manufacture criteria and guarantees the smoothed operation.
