  • Recently, as the demand of the information storage devices with large storage capacity such as BD(Blu-ray Disk) and HDTV(high-definition television) is increased, the optical storage devices are also required to have fast data transfer rate and large storage capacity. To satisfy these requirements, the actuator for optical disk drive should have high flexible mode frequencies for system stability. In this paper, we suggested a moving magnet type actuator having high flexible mode frequency. However, the moving magnet type actuator does not have sufficient driving sensitivities due to the weight of its moving part. To improve driving sensitivities, we designed the model with the closed electromagnetic circuit for tracking direction. In addition, driving sensitivities and flexible mode frequencies were improved by using DOE(Design of Experiments) for magnetic circuit and modifying the lens holder. Consequently, it is confirmed that the designed model is satisfied with the desired specifications.

GPS와 비전시스템을 이용한 무인 골프카의 자율주행 (Autonomous Traveling of Unmanned Golf-Car using GPS and Vision system)

  • Path tracking of unmanned vehicle is a basis of autonomous driving and navigation. For the path tracking, it is very important to find the exact position of a vehicle. GPS is used to get the position of vehicle and a direction sensor and a velocity sensor is used to compensate the position error of GPS. To detect path lines in a road image, the bird's eye view transform is employed, which makes it easy to design a lateral control algorithm simply than from the perspective view of image. Because the driving speed of vehicle should be decreased at a curved lane and crossroads, so we suggest the speed control algorithm used GPS and image data. The control algorithm is simulated and experimented from the basis of expert driver's knowledge data. In the experiments, the results show that bird's eye view transform are good for the steering control and a speed control algorithm also shows a stability in real driving.

전륜구동 수동변속기에 대한 트라이볼로지적 고장사례 연구 (Tribological Failure Study of Manual Transmissions in Front Engine and Front Wheel Drive Vehicle)

  • The purpose of this paper is to present the case study of tribological failure analysis on the gear damages, oil leakage, and sealant sealing in a manual transmission of front engine and front wheel drive vehicle. The manual transmission is to change the speed range and direction of the engines depending on the driving conditions by friction driving forces with input and output gear system. The material property and surface roughness of the gears are strongly related to the gear noise and micro-vibration, oil leakage and wear, which may decrease the real contact area of the gear and the strength of the oil film thickness between the driving gear and driven one. The O-ring damage of speedometer driven gear and bad sealant sealing of oil pan may produce oil leakage through the contact surfaces, which cause the oil shortage and seizure on the sliding surfaces of the transaxle gears. In the failure case study, the proper repair working and good lubrication are very important for the long life of the transaxle without any tribological failures and oil leakage.

  • Worldwide, studies on intelligent vehicles for the convenience of drivers have been actively conducted as the number of cars has increased. However, vehicle convenience enabled by buttons lowers the concentration on driving and hence poses as a huge threat to the safety of the driver. The use of one of the convenient features, impaired driving auxiliary equipment, is limited because of its complex usage, and this device also hinders the front view of the driver. This paper proposes a vehicle-control device for controlling the convenient features as well as changes in speed and direction using gestures and motions of the driver. This device consists of an ultrasonic sensor for recognizing movement, an arduino for accepting signal control functions and servo and DC motors apply to various vehicle parts. Firstly, the vehicle-control device was designed using a 3D CAD program known as Solid-works based on the size of the steering wheel. Then, through simulations, a suitable length for minimizing the absorbent between ultrasonic sensors was confirmed using a program known as COMSOL Multiphysics. Finally, simulation results were verified through experiments, and the optimal size of the device was identified through the number of errors.

파워스티어링용 유압펌프의 일체형 풀리 개발 (Development of Monolith Type Driving Pulley of Power Steering Hydraulic Pump)

  • Most power steering systems work by using a hydraulic system to turn the vehicle's wheels. The pressure is usually provided by a hydraulic pump driven by the vehicle's engine. A double-acting hydraulic cylinder applies a force to the steering gear, which in turn applies a torque to the steering axis of the road wheels. The flow to the cylinder is controlled by valves operated by the steering wheel ; the more torque the driver applies to the steering wheel and the shaft it is attached to, the more fluid the valves allow through to the cylinder, and so the more force is applied to steer the wheels in the appropriate direction. Since the pumps employed are of the positive displacement type, the flow rate they deliver is directly proportional to the speed of the engine. And for a long time, the type of hydraulic pump pulley was boss welding type. But recently, monolith type driving pulley is widely used. Therefore in this paper we studied the safety of monolith type driving pulley to the extracting force and endurance by FEM analysis and experiments.

자율주행차를 위한 장애물 탐지 및 인식 시스템 (Obstacle Detection and Recognition System for Autonomous Driving Vehicle)

  • 최근 물체를 인식하기 위해 많은 데이터를 기반으로 학습하여 인식하는 연구가 활성화 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 도로주행 영상에서 장애물이라고 생각되는 객체를 추출하여 자동차, 사람, 오토바이로 구분하여 인식하는 시스템을 제안한다. 이동한 방향과 크기를 고려한 상태에서 광류 추정 알고리즘을 이용하여 객체를 추출하였으며, 추출한 객체를 CNN(Convolutional Neural Network) 인식 모델 중 하나인 AlexNet을 이용하여 인식하였다. 실험을 위해 도로 위의 다양한 영상을 블랙박스로 수집하여 실험하였고, 실험 결과 객체 추출 정확도는 92%, 객체 인식 정확도는 96%의 결과를 보였다.

이동물체의 변위 예측을 위한 시간솎음 탐색 방향 알고리즘 (Decimation-in-time Search Direction Algorithm for Displacement Prediction of Moving Object)

  • 본 논문에서는 이동물체의 변위 예측을 위한 시간솎음 탐색 방향 알고리즘 제안하여 고속이동물체의 추적과 속도 측정을 하였다. 제안된 알고리즘은 이동물체의 이동 방향을 예측하기 위하여 초기 방향은 시간적으로 연속하는 과거 두 프레임에서 이동물체를 검출하고 이동 각도와 이동 거리를 구하여 초기화하였다. 현재 프레임에서 이동물체의 이동 방향은 시간솎음 탐색 방향 마스크를 적용하여 이동물체의 이동 방향을 구하였다. 시간솎음 탐색 방향 마스크는 연속 프레임에서 프레임을 시간 솎음하여 이동물체를 검출하고, 이동물체의 진행방향의 예측은 8 방향 중에서 이동물체의 이동 각도를 구하여 탐색 마스크를 결정하고, 탐색 마스크에 의해 이동물체의 이동 방향을 예측하였다. 제안한 알고리즘의 타당성을 입증하기 위하여 고속으로 주행 중인 자동차의 추적과 속도를 측정하고, 성능을 평가하기 위하여 전역탐색기법과 제안된 방법을 비교 평가하였다. 그 결과, 제안된 방법에서는 이동물체 변위 탐색 횟수가 평균 91.8$\%$ 감소하였고, 추적 처리 시간은 평균 32.1ms 임을 보임으로서 이동물체 추적을 실시간적으로 실행할 수 있음을 보였다.

전동휠체어 주행안전을 위한 3차원 깊이카메라 기반 장애물검출 (3D Depth Camera-based Obstacle Detection in the Active Safety System of an Electric Wheelchair)

  • Obstacle detection is a key feature in the safe driving control of electric wheelchairs. The suggested obstacle detection algorithm was designed to provide obstacle avoidance direction and detect the existence of cliffs. By means of this information, the wheelchair can determine where to steer and whether to stop or go. A 3D depth camera (Microsoft KINECT) is used to scan the 3D point data of the scene, extract information on obstacles, and produce a steering direction for obstacle avoidance. To be specific, ground detection is applied to extract the obstacle candidates from the scanned data and the candidates are projected onto a 2D map. The 2D map provides discretized information of the extracted obstacles to decide on the avoidance direction (left or right) of the wheelchair. As an additional function, cliff detection is developed. By defining the "cliffband," the ratio of the predefined band area and the detected area within the band area, the cliff detection algorithm can decide if a cliff is in front of the wheelchair. Vehicle tests were carried out by applying the algorithm to the electric wheelchair. Additionally, detailed functions of obstacle detection, such as providing avoidance direction and detecting the existence of cliffs, were demonstrated.

Analysis of Google's success factors and direction

  • Among the innovative companies leading the era of the 4th industrial revolution, the world's largest Internet company is Google. Google has grown by providing convenient services such as Internet search, Android smartphone operating system, and video. Now, Google is leading the global IT industry by continuing to develop in various new business fields based on open service platforms, artificial intelligence, and big data. In this study, an exploratory discussion was conducted on Google's success factors and future directions. The purpose of the research is to understand the development process of the IT field from the successfactors of Google and to analyze the development direction of the future IT industry. Google's success factors were its open platform policy and successful acquisitions of external companies. In fact, most of the services Google offers come from companies that have acquired and acquired them. In addition, there was a corporate culture that values and supportsthe spirit of challenge and autonomy of members who are not afraid of failure. Based on this study's review of Google's direction analysis, the follow-up study will infer the direction of the IT industry in depth and look at the future technologies that IT majors need to prepare.

GIS를 활용한 지하시설물 시공의 적정성 평가 (Suitability valuation of Underground Facility Construction Using GIS)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate suitability of Underground Facility Construction in great land development area. Because there are the construct of national integration information control system and the advance of information technique, the necessity that construct the UIS to manage the urban space systematically is enlarged. In the purpose that we prepare the base of underground facility management system by driving the step digitalizing facilities buried underground and protect urban safety accident, we introduce the GIS in land development area. This study proposes the improvement direction by examining the outcome through the driving method and the outcome analysis.
