Comparative study on one and two-path single energy recovery circuit for plasma display panel (PDP)

  • Comparison of one two-path single energy recovery circuit for plasma display panel (PDP) is shown in this paper. A single energy recovery circuit (SERC) is proposed to reduce cost for manufacturing PDP and there are two ways, one and two-path, in driving this circuit. Compared with one-path SERC, there are low power consumption, low surge current and high performance in two-path SERC. The results will be shown with 42-inch HD panel.

  • The first objective of this study is to set up the switching surge analysis method in motor driving distribution system. The simplified model which can simulate the motor energization and circuit breaker re-ignitions, and each circuit element model is presented in this paper. The second objective is to calculate the quantify of surge over-voltage in real nuclear power station. And the surge suppressing measures are verified on the simulation basis. It is clarified that most cases are not satisfactory to meet the IEEE standard 522-1992 without using surge suppressing measures. In cases that the surge arrester are installed in distribution board at the load side of circuit breaker. The IEEE specification is fully met.

  • Power distribution system requires the transformer with higher capacity than ever, but this ever, but this may be the cause of the increasing of short circuit current in contrast to conventional one when short-circuit accident is occurred. Therefore molded case circuit breaker improved in aspects of interrupting capacity of short circuit current in this system is needed. The arrangement and quality of the material of grids in arc quenching room are also designed optimally by the analysis of arc driving forces.

  • This paper was analyzed the characteristics of piezoelectric inkjet print head using finite element method(FEM). It showed the bending node driving of piezoelectric and relation theory principle consider piezoelectric material characteristics and ink characteristics. From such result we were had the piezoelectric head design and manufacture. It got a this head characteristics through experiment, we confirmed that proper voltage control is possible to through ink drop control experiment of piezoelectric print head. This paper was obtained the suitable ink jetting characteristics that manufacture the control circuit and piezoelectric inkjet print head. This practice product was applied to improvement of PCB electric circuit pattern by etching resist ink that PCB manufactured to complex process over traditional 6 stages can be simpled to 1 stage by inkjet printing technology.

  • The aim of the paper is to design the PLS(Plasma Lighting System) driving inverter circuit with optimal efficiency. In general, it is known that the PLS driven by a pulse has a higher light-conversion efficiency. There are the Class-E type resonant inverter and the semi-bridge inverter as a circuit which can make a pulse with low duty ratio. In this paper, we analyze the losses of the above two circuits. To verify the loss analysis, the inverter circuit with 220V 380W input consumption is manufactured and tested. Throughout the experimental results, the high efficiency PLS system has confirmed.

  • A bootstrap circuit for floating power supply has the advantage of being simple and inexpensive. However, the duty cycle and on-time are limited by the requirement to refresh the charge in the bootstrap capacitor. Hence, this paper deals with a design of charge pump circuit for a floating gate power supply of an IPM. The operation of the proposed circuit applied by three-phase inverter system for driving induction motor are verified through the experiments.

  • In these days the hybrid interrupters are widely used for medium voltage class circuit breakers. In the design of the hybrid interrupter, the shape of the short-circuit ring is one of the most important design parameters. Recently the investigation into the phase difference between arc current and magnetic field due to the shape variation of the short circuit ring has been conducted. In this paper, the results of eddy current analyses in the hybrid interrupter and test result are presented.

  • The automatic firewall block and fire alarm system was embodied by using gas circuit and wireless communication equipment, using a smoke sensor (ST-QA1A) and RF Module. OR-CAD was also used for testing circuit system and experiment circuit after assembling circuit. As a result in experiment, the gas sensor detected well an imaginary smoke and worked reliably for driving action of firewall block motor and wireless warning alarm. Through the smoke sensitive perception from the fire, the warning alarm and the preventing fire propagation from the specific closed region were verified reliably. The gas sensor and RF module for firewall and fire alarm system were actually available.

  • Recently, the LED lighting is widely used to illumination purpose due to its high luminous efficiency and the long life time. However, the light power and lifetime is reduced by junction temperature increment of LED. So it is important to measure the junction temperature accurately. In this paper, we proposed a new design and implementation method of high power LED junction temperature measurement circuit. The proposed circuit has two current sources which are a driving current source and a measurement is verified by experiment, and the result shows that the proposed circuit is appropriate to practical use.
