Color Matching by ICC Profile for Printer Mini-Driver (프린터 미니드라이버에서의 ICC 프로파일 기반 칼라매칭)

  • One of the major factors determining the printing quality of a color printer is the color matching that is performed inside the printer driver In this paper, the mini driver for the color printer is built using the Microsoft 98DDK. Also, the ICC profile proposed as the standard for the color management system is generated. The color matching capability of the mini driver with the ICC profile is examined and compared with that of the commercial printer driver.

  • With the proliferation of vehicles and advancement of Information Technology, the technology of Telematics, which provides valuable services to people by collecting and analyzing the information from drivers, vehicles and Telematics environments (e.g. traffic information, road condition, weather information, etc.), has been a hot research area in IT and automotive recently. As the information technology revolution brings more and more assistance for driver information processing becomes increasing important. Therefore, drivers' workload is very essential factor for safety driving in Telematics environment. For managing drivers' workload effectively, ETRI haven been developing vehicle and driver management system which can collect data from drivers and vehicle in realtime and analyze the data to manage drivers' and vehcles' status since 2007. This technology will apply to commercial vehicle telematics such as texi or truck management system in the future for increasing driving safety. In this presentation, I would like to explain what we had developed so far and discuss future direction.

  • According to the development of embedded systems, they are used in various fields. However, the productivity and the quality of embedded systems are not acceptable because of the hardware environment-oriented development. Several works has proposed new techniques using a formal specification method or complex template, but due to high complexity and low flexibility of the method, it is difficult to be used. Accordingly, this paper presents a new approach to develop embedded device drivers which are kinds of embedded system software. In our approach, we define a light device driver template for ensuring high flexibility and productivity and generate the device driver by incorporating with embedded system information represented by XML. By using XML we consider the design phase in device driver development process for the quality of the driver. Our approach, improves the reusability of embedded device driver and finally, it will improve productivity and quality of embedded system.

  • The automotive ECU(Electronic Control Unit) becomes more complicated and is demanding many functions. For example, many automobile companies are developing driver convenience systems such as power window switch, LCM(Light Control Module), mirror control system, seat memory. In addition, many researches and developments for DIS(Driver Information System) are in progress. It is dangerous to operate such systems in driving. In this paper, we implement the speech recognition system which controls the car convenience system using speech, and apply the preprocessing filter to improve the speech recognition rate in car noise environment. As a result, we get the good speech recognition rate in car noise environment.

  • The vehicle navigation system is developed for helping driver to retrieve driving information more easily and fastly. Navigation System informs driver many pieces of driving information - roadway structure and system, on-line traffic condition, the position of vehicle, route guidance, destination and other information service. As the style of information is diverse and the amount of information is large, driver may have mental and visual overload. The display of information can disturb the driver's attention and this can cause accidents. This state is caused by the defect of human-machine interactions. When the navigation system is designed, human factors - cognitive, judgment, operating - must be considered. The display style must be designed simply and easily, not to be obstacle of human -machine interface. In this study, outside-in view display style and inside-out view display style are compared each other. Two factors are measured. One is cognitive factor-time of cognition on information that is displayed by screen display, cognition error rate. The other is image of screen display - subject's feeling about several styles of display, degree of subject's preference. The prototype of roadway is four kinds - Cross, T-cross, Y-cross and O-cross. Roadway display for test is taken from paper maps. Traffic condition display style, vehicle position display style and route guidance display style are taken from current display style. Traffic condition display style is symbol. Vehicle position display style and route guidance display style are described as color and symbol. The test on screen display is implemented doing given tasks. Then the test is analyzed statistically, The result of test analysis gives the guideline to the designer for the map display of the vehicle navigation system.

  • Efforts are being made to prevent traffic accidents within the child protection zone. Efforts are being made to prevent accidents by enacting safety facilities and laws to prevent traffic accidents in the school zone. However, traffic accidents in school zones continue to occur. If the driver can know the situation in the child protection zone in advance, accidents can be reduced. In this paper, we design a camera that eliminates blind spots in school zones and a number recognition camera system that can collect pre-traffic information. Design a LIDAR system that recognizes vehicle speed and pedestrians. Design an LED guidance system that delivers information to drivers without smart devices. We study time series analysis and artificial intelligence algorithms that collect and process pedestrian and vehicle information recognized by cameras and LIDAR. In the artificial intelligence traffic accident prevention system learned by deep learning, before entering the school zone, the school zone information is sent to the driver through the Force Push Service and the school zone information is delivered to the driver on the LED sign. try to reduce accidents.

  • Most vehicles having automatic transmission system use fixed standard shift map to provide automatic transmission for driver. In this case, driver who operates vehicle may be complaint with the fixed transmission pattern being different from the driver's intention. In this paper, therefore, to infer the driver's intention module for learning the driver's intention with related input variables using soft computing method is proposed. After inference, the standard shift map will be shifted according to a certain parameter decided from the proposed module for providing proper shift pattern. The efficiency of the proposed module is evaluated by the data acquired from real time driving.

  • A study on the need for a safety system using driver's biometric information, vehicle automatic emergency braking system, and the e-call system that in the event of an unexpected situation such as loss of driving ability due to sudden physical abnormality of elderly drivers and drivers with health problems, and the improvement of laws for the spread of this system were studied.

Novel Backprojection Method for Monocular Head Pose Estimation

  • Estimating a driver's head pose is an important task in driver-assistance systems because it can provide information about where a driver is looking, thereby giving useful cues about the status of the driver (i.e., paying proper attention, fatigued, etc.). This study proposes a system for estimating the head pose using monocular images, which includes a novel use of backprojection. The system can use a single image to estimate a driver's head pose at a particular time stamp, or an image sequence to support the analysis of a driver's status. Using our proposed system, we compared two previous pose estimation approaches. We introduced an approach for providing ground-truth reference data using a mannequin model. Our experimental results demonstrate that the proposed system provides relatively accurate estimations of the yaw, tilt, and roll angle. The results also show that one of the pose estimation approaches (perspective-n-point, PnP) provided a consistently better estimate compared to the other (pose from orthography and scaling with iterations, POSIT) using our proposed system.

  • The propose of this study is to apply establish the foundation for development of elder driver friendly smart cluster. At first, vehicle dashboard trends were analyzed. Secondly, we presents the structure of elder driver friendly smart cluster and explains android based meter cluster. also, we shows the implementation details and experimental result of elder driver friendly smart cluster system. And we presents a summary and conclusions.
