백작약 추출물의 Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus 에 대한 항균활성 (Antimicrobial Activity or the extracts from Paeonia japonica against Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus)

  • 항생제 내성균에 대처 할 수 있는 새로운 항생제의 개발에는 많은 시간과 인력 및 개발비가마 필요하며 새로운 항생제들이 생산되어도 균들은 빠르면 수개월내에 내성을 획득한다. 이 문제의 해결방법의 하나로 전통적으로 감염질환의 치료에 사용되어온 백작약 추출물의 methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)에 대한 항균활성 보유여부를 조사한 결과 백작약의 dichloromethane 추출물이 MRSA에 대하여 높은 항균활성을 나타내어 앞으로 새로운 항균재로서의 개발 및 사용 가능성이 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Energy and Exergy Aanalyses of Drying of Eggplant Slices in a Cyclone Type Dryer

  • In this paper, the energy and exergy analyses of the drying process of thin layer of eggplant slices are investigated. Drying experiments were conducted at inlet temperatures of drying air of 55, 65 and $75^{\circ}C$ and at drying air velocities of 1 and $1.5\;ms^{-1}$ in a cyclone type dryer. Using the first law of thermodynamics, energy analysis was carried to estimate the ratios of energy utilization. However, exergy analysis was accomplished to determine type and magnitude of exergy losses during the drying process by applying the second law of thermodynamics. It was deduced that eggplant slices are sufficiently dried in the ranges between $55-75^{\circ}C$ of drying air temperature and at 1 and $1.5\;ms^{-1}$ of drying air velocity during 12000-21600 s despite the exergy losses of $0-0.739\;kJs^{-l}.

Characterization of Agarose Product from Agar Using DMSO

  • Agar was extracted from Gelidium amansii, which was harvested at the shores of Jeju Island in South Korea. As a unique solvent, the ability of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) was used to separate agarose from agar by removing agaropectine and quality of the resultant agarose was characterized for chromatography purposes. Agar sample was agitated by motor-driven stirrer with DMSO in a water bath (at 70$^{\circ}C$ for 2 h) and centrifuged (3,000 rpm for 20 min). Resultant upper agarose layer was gelled, washed, dried and milled. The quality of agarose was evaluated by the analysis of proximate chemical composition, sulfate content, gelling strength and DNA migration. In this study, the separated agarose showed low sulfate amount (0.28%) and showed high gel strength (1190 g ${\cdot}\;cm^{-2}$). The resolution power and the ligase activities gave clear picture about the suitability of the present agarose for practical purposes.

  • A new PDP barrier rib formation technique was investigated utilizing transparent soft maid made of silicon resin. Transparent soft mold was fabricated by pouring a silicone resin into the base mold made with photosensitive glass. The photosensitive barrier rib paste was coated on the glass substrate and dried in a 90 $^{\circ}C$ convection oven for 20min. The transparent soft mold was pressed on top of the semi-dry barrier rib layer and then irradiated with a UV lamp to a total dose of $900{\sim}1000mJ/cm^2$ The soft maid was then removed from the pressed barrier rib by winding up and fine pattern of barrier rib was obtained. The photosensitive barrier rib paste makes the demolding easy due to reduced interfacial forces and shrinking of paste materials.

고온 다습하에서 복합절연재료의 열화특성 (The aging characteristics of composite insulating materials due to high-temperature and high-moisture)

  • For increasing the insulating proper-ties and the reliability of composite materials due to environmental aging, the electrical and mechanical characteristics of moisture absortion specimens and moisture desorption specimens were investigated. After moisture absorption wt% and moisture desorption wt% increased with time, a state of saturation arrived subsequent to a constant time. Moisture absorption constants with the layers of glass fiber showed 0.0117 in 1 layer, 0.0123 in 2 layers and 0.0152 in 3 layers. Electrical and mechanical characteristics dropped significantly with moisture absorbing in composite materials. Although moisture dried completly at 70.deg. C, it is impossible to obtain the electrical and mechanical characteristics before moisture absorption. Many defaults by moisture in composite materials exist at interface between epoxy matrix and filler.

  • This paper presents the neuro-fuzzy classifier derived from the generic model of a 3-layer fuzzy perceptron and developed the classification software based on the neuro-fuzzl model. Also, a comparison of the neuro-fuzzy and maximum-likelihood classifiers is presented in this paper. The Airborne Multispectral Scanner(AMS) imagery of Tae-Duk Science Complex Town were used for this comparison. The neuro-fuzzy classifier was more considerably accurate in the mixed composition area like "bare soil" , "dried grass" and "coniferous tree", however, the "cement road" and "asphalt road" classified more correctly with the maximum-likelihood classifier than the neuro-fuzzy classifier. Thus, the neuro-fuzzy model can be used to classify the mixed composition area like the natural environment of korea peninsula. From this research we conclude that the neuro-fuzzy classifier was superior in suppression of mixed pixel classification errors, and more robust to training site heterogeneity and the use of class labels for land use that are mixtures of land cover signatures.

자기 집합에 의한 고분자 초박막의 합성 (Synthesis of Ultrathin Polymer Films by Self Assembly)

  • 콜레스테롤을 갖는 계면활성제를 합성하고, 이 계면활성제를 단량체와 함께 물 속에서 음파파쇄(sonication)하여 막소포(vesicle)용액을 형성한 다음, 이 용액을 건조하여 분자들이 규칙적으로 배열된 분자 다층 구조를 갖는 막을 합성하였다. 이 막에 들어 있는 단량체들을 UV를 이용하여 중합하여 고분자가 층과 층 사이에 들어 있는 분자 다층 구조를 합성하였다. 중합이 끝난 후 유기 용매를 사용하여 계면활성제를 추출하여 2차원적인 구조를 갖는 초박막 층으로 이루어진 고분자 막을 합성하였다. 분자 다층 구조들을 X-ray Diffractometer로 분석하여 다층 구조를 어느 정도 잘 하고 있는지를 살펴보았으며, 유기 용매로 계면활성제를 추출해내고 나서 남은 고분자 막의 절단한 면을 SEM으로 살펴 보았다.

  • 중합반응을 할 수 있는 vinyl 기와 콜레스테롤 기를 갖는 계면활성제들을 합성하고, 이 계면활성제들을 물 속에서 sonication하여 vesicle 용액을 형성한 다음, 이 용액을 건조하여 분자들이 규칙적으로 배열된 분자 다층 구조를 갖는 막을 합성하였다. 이 막들을 UV를 이용하여 중합한 다음 분자량을 측정하여 중합성을 살펴보았으며, X-ray diffractometer로 분석하여 다층 구조를 어느 정도 잘하고 있는지극 살펴 보았다.

All-Organic Nanowire Field-Effect Transistors and Complementary Inverters Fabricated by Direct Printing

  • We generated single-crystal organic nanowire arrays using a direct printing method (liquidbridge- mediated nanotransfer molding) that enables the simultaneous synthesis, alignment and patterning of nanowires from molecular ink solutions. Using this method, single-crystal organic nanowires can easily be synthesized by self-assembly and crystallization of organic molecules within the nanoscale channels of molds, and these nanowires can then be directly transferred to specific positions on substrates to generate nanowire arrays by a direct printing process. The position of the nanowires on complex structures is easy to adjust, because the mold is movable on the substrates before the polar liquid layer, which acts as an adhesive lubricant, is dried. Repeated application of the direct printing process can be used to produce organic nanowire-integrated electronics with twoor three-dimensional complex structures on large-area flexible substrates. This efficient manufacturing method is used to fabricate all-organic nanowire field-effect transistors that are integrated into device arrays and inverters on flexible plastic substrates.

불용성 오손물에 의한 절연물의 전기적 특성에 관한 연구 (The Electric Properties of Insulators Due to Mon-soluble Contaminant)

  • This paper present the result of the investigation, the electric properties of insulators due to non-soluble contamination. In general, the humidity and the amount of soluble salts such as NaCl, $MgCl_2$ are the most dominant factor. Though the non-soluble do not distribute on conductivity of contaminant layer, that has the hygroscopic property. For this study, we make a mini-fog chamber with transparent acryl and the kaoline was used for non-soluble contaminant. The kaoline was applied with sprayer to get the specific ESDD and NSDD value, then the specimen was dried and installed horizontally. And to measure the leakage current a DAS system was developed with LabView. With the result, we could know the influence of non-soluble content and the relationship between NSDD and ESDD.
