This paper investigated children's learning process concerning age and gender, two of the most apparent social roles. The subjects of the study were 72 Korean preschool children between three to five years of age. The Study was designed to examine problems of developmental sequence and horizontal decalage in understanding of these social roles. Two five-step knowledge sequences of age growth and sex constancy were administered utilizing skill theory (Fischer, 1980). Each step in a sequence had different stories of age or sex role with increasing cognitive complexity, but the two sequences were equivalent in complexity. The children were tested under two different assessment conditions:high support condition of elicited imitation and low support condition of free play and the best story. The findings show that, the understanding of age and sex roles develops through the predicted five-step sequences. The understanding of age role seems to develop earlier than that of sex role although the developmental patterns of the two roles are similar. Variations in the children's performances under different conditions were dramatic, especially for the older children.

There have been dramatic technology changes in telecommunication sector during last two decades. New application services like the introduction of international mobile services, fiber optical home services and satellite personal services are expected to play a major role in the whole field of telecommunication services. In the users' viewpoint, the proper selection and the efficient application of the specific telecommunication service among the various alternatives at hand are recognized as principle means for ensuring the whole business competitiveness. Despite the definite need for the telecommunication service selection strategies, very few researches have been reported in this field. In this paper, attempts are made to identify the companies' decision factors considered in selecting the telecommunication services, to draw the strategic dimensions and categorize each company with respect to the identified dimensions, and to finally find the characteristics of each strategic group in selecting the telecommunication service.

The recent explosion in the number of low earth orbit (LEO) satellites launched to space allows to easily anticipate that the number of satellites in orbit will sustain a dramatic increase. As satellite components are integrated and unified with terrestrial cellular networks, they will play a key role in providing coverage and resilience for future cellular networks. We provide a brief overview of typical scenarios and network architectures for cellular-based LEO satellite communication systems. In addition, we outline 3GPP standardization trends in non-terrestrial networks and satellite access based on 5G/5G Advanced systems and analyze future evolution prospects of cellular-based satellite communication systems.

The dramatic increase in colorectal cancer incidence in the population of East Asia indicates that diet and lifestyle play a role in colorectal cancer risk. Colorectal cancer prevention and etiologic studies have long provided dietary modification strategies for colorectal cancer prevention. In this review, we provide an overview of the epidemiologic evidence on the association between diet and colorectal cancer risk. Several cohort studies and a few intervention studies, most conducted in Western countries, have shown a possible link between red and processed meat, alcoholic beverages, calcium, vitamin D, vitamin B and the Western dietary pattern with colorectal cancer development. For colorectal cancer prevention in both Western and Asian populations, dietary modification is a key component of colorectal cancer prevention.

본 연구는 장우재가 제시하는 다양한 문제상황들이 동시대 한국 사회에서 어떤 의미맥락을 갖는지, 그리고 관객에게 어떤 사유의 기회를 제공하며 극장을 통한 공론화에 기여하는지 등에 대해서 다각도로 논구하였다. 또한 그의 사유실험이 극작술적 기능과 연결되어서 형식적 및 내용적으로 관객에게 어떤 극적 효과를 추동하는지, 그 결과 관객에게 새로운 사유를 주선할 수 있는지 등도 고려하였다. 따라서 이 사유실험은 작품 전체의 메시지와의 연관성 안에서도 파악되었다. 그리고 성숙한 시민사회를 위해 요구되는 공동세계의 공공성의 주목에 대한 새로운 관심이 사유실험에 입각한 각 작품의 논쟁지점 안에서 어떻게 성립될 수 있는지를 타진해보았다. 본고는 결국 장우재의 연극을 통해서 연극예술이 동시대 한국 사회에 기여할 수 있는 가능성을 점검했을 뿐 아니라, 인간과 사회를 위한 연극예술의 궁극적 역할과 의미에 대한 메타적 차원의 자기성찰도 함께 고려하였다.

본고는 판소리 <적벽가>를 창극으로 만드는 작업의 어려움을 판소리와 창극의 장르상 차이에 있다고 보고 판소리의 서사와 음악이 창극에 그대로 활용되기 어렵다는 점을 밝혀내었다. 전승 5가를 창극으로 만든 작품들은 대부분 판소리의 서사와 소리를 그대로 공연한다. 그러나 판소리 <적벽가>의 원본 서사는 전반부와 후반부의 생성이 따로 이루어졌기 때문에 눈에 띄게 이원적 구조를 가지고 있다. 판소리와는 달리, 이야기를 무대화하여 시각적으로 보여주는 드라마 장르에서는 행동의 일치가 중요하게 때문에, 원본 서사의 이원성은 행동의 불일치라는 결함으로 드러날 수 있다. 또한 판소리 원작의 소리들은 극적이기보다는 설명적인 대목이 많으며, 극적 클라이맥스인 적벽대전 장면도 설명적이고 해학적인 사설로 되어 있어서 창극에서 극적인 장면으로 연출하기에 어려움이 있다. 다만 소설 원작에는 없는 군사들의 목소리는 창극에서 연출되었을 때, 이면적 주제를 효과적으로 드러내는 역할을 한다. 그러나 군사들의 목소리마저도 서사적인 측면에서는 핍진성을 결여하고 있기에, 판소리 원본 텍스트를 그대로 창극에 이식하기에는 무리가 있다. 창극 <적벽가>는 능동적으로 판소리 <적벽가>를 연구하고 해체해야만, 창극만의 독자적인 새로운 작품으로 거듭날 수 있을 것이다.

뮤지컬 <여신님이 보고계셔>는 '담론으로서의 서사', '화자가 꾸미는 서사', '스토리로서의 서사' 등의 서사 구조를 골고루 지니고 있다. '담론으로서의 서사'는 무인도에서의 남한군과 북한군의 우정을 그리는 것으로, '화자가 꾸미는 서사'는 순호 석구 주화 창섭 동현의 사연이 동현 여신 석구가 대역으로 등장하는 극중극으로, '스토리로서의 서사'는 '여신님'의 등장으로 현실 세계와 환상 세계가 교차하는 것으로 나타난다. 이는 ${\triangle}$공간의 성격화 ${\triangle}$ 무대의 전략적 간소화 ${\triangle}$중심 캐릭터의 다수화 ${\triangle}$유사 내력담의 반복 ${\triangle}$탄력적인 시점 변화 등에 기여한다. 또 뮤지컬 넘버는 ${\triangle}$극적 캐릭터의 다양성 추구 ${\triangle}$비극적인 심리표현의 극대화 ${\triangle}$아이러니와 판타지에 의한 흥미 유발 ${\triangle}$섬세한 감성과 순수한 희망에 대한 향수 자극 ${\triangle}$보편적 여성상에 의한 치유와 구원의 시도 등의 극적 기능을 지님으로써 이 뮤지컬의 사실적 재현과 양식적 환상에 기여한다.

본 연구는 유아기 예술교육의 중요성을 인식하며 유아의 발달에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 유아교사들이 예술적 역량을 함양할 필요가 있다는 점에 주목하고 있다. 현대사회에서 예술은 온 국민이 누리고 향유해야 할 문화적 소양이듯이 유아교사의 예술적 경험은 유아의 예술적 감수성, 심미감, 미적능력 발달과도 밀접한 관계가 있기에 매우 중요하다 판단된다. 유아교사의 예술적 역량 향상을 위한 다양한 방법 중 본고는 연극예술의 교육적 가치를 담고 있는 교육연극의 활용에 대해 기술하고 있다. 교육연극 활동은 즉흥을 통한 허구적 상황을 창조해 내고, 가상의 인물과 동일시의 과정을 경험하게 되며, 감정의 교감을 통한 정서적 경험이 가능함과 동시에 몸을 통한 체화의 과정을 밟는다. 이러한 예술경험을 통해 유아교사는 유아교육 현장에서 이루어지는 극 놀이를 보다 다각적이고 진지한 일상과 연계된 활동으로 촉진시킬 수 있으며, 몸의 자유로운 활용을 통해 다양한 표현력과 상상력, 미적체험 자극도 가능하다. 또한 교육연극 활동 중에 유아와 교사는 수평적이고 민주적인 관계를 형성할 수도 있다. 이러한 지향은 2019개정 누리교육과정에서 유아중심의 놀이를 강조하는 교육관과 맥을 같이 한다고 본다. 유아교사들의 예술적 역량이 강화된다면 유아들의 바람직한 예술세계 형성에 기여할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 교사 스스로와 유아교육기관에도 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 따라서 향후 유아교사들의 예술적 역량 강화를 위해 교육연극을 경험할 수 있는 기회가 확대되기를 기대한다.

Eugene O'Neill's one-act play Before Breakfast (1916) depicts a morning scene of a married couple who live in a slovenly flat at Greenwich Village. There is no apparent dramatic action occurring in the play. Instead, the play is full of Mrs. Rowland's incessant complaints about her husband Alfred's loafing around bars with artists friends, neglecting his role as breadwinner. An irony is that every morning she prepares breakfast for the good-for-nothing husband even in the moment of complaining. It is worth noting that Alfred is an 'unseen character' who is never directly observed by the audience but is only described by her wife. Deprived of all chances to speak and present himself on stage, he is kept in the room throughout the play. In contrast, Mrs. Rowland dominates the stage, monopolizing language and action. The audience has to listen to her, judge from her statements, and take her one-sided complaints. The accused husband, with zero chance of showing up and defending himself, has no choice but to be the sinner as the wife intends. Another irony is that the audience's feeling about the situation is quite different from what is expected. The wife's complaints are regarded to be unfair and groundless in the reason that the situation is monopolized by her. In case of the husband, in contrast, the loss of voice and presence stresses the injustice of his dead-lock situation. In other words, the 'absent' quality of Alfred works to evoke the audience's sympathy for himself and subsequently makes his presence recognized, not visually but emotionally, by the audience throughout the play. Discovered in this paradoxical moment where the spectators understand or 'see' the status of the unseen and the devoiced message is successfully conveyed to the listeners, is the theatricality of absence. Adding to the function as theatrical device, the 'unseen character' Alfred works as a device of self-reflection to mirror the author's own life. Alfred, the alter-ego of O'Neill, effectively exorcises the author's life-long feeling of guilty as the unfaithful husband and father in the unhappy first marriage, successfully evoking the audience's sympathy for himself.
