This article describes the first results gained from a problem solving test that was administered to grade 4 students in the Netherlands. The students involved are all high achievers in mathematics. The analysis of the student responses gives cause for concern. The often-heard belief that teachers do not need to worry about the better students is clearly in need of revision. It turned out that when high achievers in mathematics are challenged to take on non-typical problems, their abilities are more limited than expected. The study revealed that the students wrote down hardly anything on their scrap paper to solve certain problems. Also it was found that they were not very persistent in their looking for a solution. In this paper we illustrate these first findings by discussing the results of one of the test problems.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to provide some basic data for effective prevention and oral health education for oral health. For that purpose, a self-administered questionnaire was distributed to the boys of three high schools in Gyeonggi Province. Methods : The questionnaire consisted of items about the practice of oral health control and knowledge of decay according to grade, number of snacking, preferred taste, and toothbrushing. Total 487 questionnaires were put to analysis using the SPSS WIN 13.0 program. Results : 1. The biggest number of the boys brushed their teeth twice a day. The 10th graders brushed teeth three times a day, and the 11th and 12th graders tended to brush teeth twice a day(${\chi}^2$=18.21, p<.05). 2. As for the way of toothbrushing, 39.0% of the boys said they brushed teeth the way they felt like, being followed by those who said they brushed teeth turning the toothbrush up and down and brushing both the teeth and gums(32.6%). As for the number of snacking, those who had snacks three times a day or more brushed teeth turning the toothbrush up and down and brushing both the teeth and gums. Those who hardly had snacks more tended to brush teeth the way they felt like than those who had snacks(${\chi}^2$=21.28, p<.05). And as for preferred tastes, those who preferred a sweet and salty taste more tended to brush teeth the way they felt like than others. And those who preferred a hot taste brushed teeth turning the toothbrush up and down and brushing both the teeth and gums(${\chi}^2$=26.85, p<.01). 3. The respondents' percentage of correct answers for 'Decay is caused by bacteria' was 81.5%. Those who preferred a hot taste recorded the highest percentage of correct answers(${\chi}^2$=21.95, p<.00). 4. Their percentage of correct answers for 'Decay is accompanied by pain from the beginning' was 78.2%. The 12th graders had the highest rate of correct answers, and the 11th graders had the highest rate of wrong answers(${\chi}^2$=11.56, p<.00). 5. Their percentage of correct answers for 'Fluorine is helpful to the prevention of decay' was 75.4%. Those who hardly had snacks recorded the highest rate of correct answers(${\chi}^2$=10.05, p<.02). 6. Their percentage of correct answers for 'There is a way to supply fluorine into the waterworks' was 29.2%, which means the percentage of wrong answers was much higher. The percentage of wrong answers was the highest in the 11th grade(${\chi}^2$=7.06, p<.03). 7. The respondents' mean scores of knowledge of decay were 13.15 of total 18. While the 12th graders showed the highest level of knowledge of decay, the 11th graders were lower in the level of knowledge of decay than the other graders. And there were significant differences(F=5.41, p<.01) according to grade with no such differences according to the number of snacking and preferred taste. Conclusions : Oral health education should be applied to the boys all through their life to have a great effect, and it is important that they should always put the oral health education into practice to be a successful education.
Being believed thus far to be distributed in the wide areas in the vicinity of Seoul, the capital city of Korea, the Yonchon System in its type locality in Yonchon-gun from which the name derived was never previously traced down or correlated to the Precambrian metamorphic complex in Seoul area where the present study was carried out. Due to in accessibility to Yonchon area, the writer also could not trace the system down to the area studied so as to correlate them. The present study endeavored to differentiate general stratigraphy and interprete the structure of the metamorphic complex in the area. In spite of the complexity of structure and rapid changes in lithofacies of the complex, it was succeeded to find out the key bed by which the stratigraphy and structure of the area could be straightened out. The keybeds were the Buchon limestone bed in the western parts of the area; Daisongri quartzite bed cropped out in the southeastern area; Jangrak quartzite bed scattered in the several localities in the northwest, southwest, and eastern parts of the area; and Earn quartzite bed isolated in the eastern part of the area. These keybeds together with the broad regional structure made it possible to differentiated the Precambrian rocks in ascending order into the Kyonggi metamorphic complex, Jangrak group and Chunsung group which are in clinounconformable relation, and the first complex were again separated in ascending order into Buchon, Sihung, and Yangpyong metermorphic groups. Althcugh it has being vaguely called as the Yonchon system thus far, the Kyonggi metamorphic complex have never been studied before. The complex might, however, belong to early to early-middle Precambrian age. The Jangrak and Chunsung group were correlated to the Sangwon system in North Korea by the writer (1972), but it became apparent that the rocks of the groups have different lithology and highly metamorphosd than those of the Sangwon system which has thick sequence of limestone and slightly metamorphosed. Being deposited in the margin of the basin, it is natural that the groups poccess terrestrial sediments rather than limestone, yet no explanation is at hand as to what was the cause of bringing such difference in grade of metamorphism. Thus the writer attempted to correlate the both groups to those of pre-Sangwon and post-Yonchon which might be middle to early-late Precambrian time. Judging from difference in grade of deformation and unconformity between the Kyonggi metamorphic complex, Jangrak group, and Chunsung group, three stages of orogeny were established: the Kyonggi, Jangrak orogenies, and Chunsung disturbance toward younger age. It is rather astonishing to point out that the structure of these Precambrian formations. was not effected by Daebo orogeny of Jurassic age. The post-tectonic block faulting was accompanied by these orogenies, and in consequence NNE and N-S trending faults were originated. These faulting were intermittented and repeated until Daebo orogeny at which granites intruded along these faults. The manifestation of alignment of these faults is indicated by the parallel and straight linear development of valleys and streams in the Kyonggi Massifland.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects after having the obesity education with obese elementary school children. The subjects were made up of 31 obese children out of U elementary school in B town as experimental group, and also were selected 34 children out of S elementary school under the same circumstance as control group. They ranged from the third to sixth grades with over 30% body fat ratio. The proceeding of obesity education consisted of three stage; stage for preparation, stage for practice, and stage for finish. The stages mentioned above were put into practice in turn for eleven weeks beginning on Oct. 8, 2001 through Dec. 22, 2001, while two stages only, stage for preparation and finish, were put into practice on the control group. The contents of the education for eleven weeks obesity regulation contained counseling and taking regular exercises once a week by professional gym teacher. In order to evaluate the effects of the education, physical characteristics, body composition, physical fitness, knowledge of obesity, dietry habit and attitude were measured. The obtained data were analyzed using SPSS program, the effects of pre and post obesity education in experimintal group were measured by paired-t test. The conclusions of this study were as follows : 1. Body fat ratio was significantly reduced after obesity education in experimintal group(p=.003). 2. The height with experimental group got taller remarkably(p=.000), but weight showed no signeficance after obesity education(p=.258). 3. Triceps and subscapular skinfold thickness showed remarkable decrese after obesity education(p=.000), percentage body fat and body fat amount got down remarkably after obesity education(p=.000). Percentage lean body mass and lean body mass amount got down remarkably after obesity education(p=.000). 4. Body flexibility, agility and muscle endurance graded up remarkably after obesity education(p=.009, p=.000, p=.000). 5. The grade in obesity knowledge got up remarkably after obesity education(p.000), but dietry habits and its life showed no significance in figures after obesity education(p=.335, p=.112). Through the results shown above, the obesity education caused body fat ratio, physique, body composition to grade up and physical fitness elevated, while dietry habits and its life showed no significance.

The aim of this research is suggesting dry processed bottom ash as a new and economical source of lightweight aggregate for mortar and concrete. The dry process of bottom ash is an advance method of water-free and no chloride because only cooled down by double dry conveyer belt systems. Furthermore, because of relatively slow cooling down process helps burning up the remaining carbon in bottom ash. Using this dry process bottom ash, to evaluate the feasibility of using as a lightweight aggregate for mortar and concrete, two-phase of experiments were conducted: 1) improving shape of the bottom ash, and 2) controlling grade of the bottom ash. From the first phase of experiment, additional abrasing process was conducted for round shape bottom ash, hence improved workability and compressive strength was achieved while unit weight was increased comparatively. Based on the better shape of bottom ash, from the second phase, various grades were adopted on cement mortar, standard grade showed the most favorable results on fresh and hardened properties. It is considered that the results of this research contribute on widening sustainable method of using bottom ash based on the dry process and increasing value of bottom ash as a lightweight aggregate for concrete.
This study analysis the effect of various temperatures (20, 35 and $50^{\circ}C$) on the formaldehyde emission from wood composites, which were particleboard (PB), medium density fiberboard (MDF), high density fiberboard (HDF) and laminated HDF (L-HDF) by Japanese desiccator method. Also, to reduce formaldehyde emission by wood composites, it has been suggested that undergo a bake-out conditions. On average, the level of formaldehyde emission increased many times with a $15^{\circ}C$ increase in temperature from 20 to $35^{\circ}C$ for PB, MDF, HDF and L-HDF, respectively. Formaldehyde emissions from wood composites could be expected to increase with increasing ambient temperature. At $35$ for 28 days bake-out treatment of boards, the free formaldehyde emission reduced 67.8% (PB), 40.1% (MDF), 37.8% (HDF), and 35.2% (L-HDF). On the other hand, after the bake-out at $50^{\circ}C$ for 28 days, the formaldehyde concentration decreased by 88.2, 66.9, 62.2 and 59.3% of the concentration before the bake-out for PB, MDF, HDF and L-HDF, respectively. An interesting of the bake-out treatment at $50^{\circ}C$ after 14 days, formaldehyde emission grade of PB & MDF down $E_2$ to $E_1$, and HDF & L-HDF down $E_1$ to $E_0$.

In this paper our main focus is to provide insight into the history of M&A's for this purpose we have analysed the different waves of M&A. We have analysed these waves in context of available literature and fact and figures. During the study we realised that almost all of the waves of M&A's ended because of financial crises, although impact and severity of that crises may differ. We analysed the impact of current crises on M&A in global context and in order to establish how companies have and in post crises era i.e. after crises of 2007 onwards how the companies have changed their corporate strategies to accommodate M&A's. We have also analysed which factors fuelled M&A's in past and were these factors present in post crises era M&A activities. By first quarter of 2011 the many firms saw new growth opportunities in M&A activities seemed to rebound as large companies used M&A's as part of their corporate strategy but this was cut short by events like US debt ceiling, down grade of USA's credit ratings along with fears about Eurozone's financial health and their impact on future prospects of M&A's would they continue to prosper or would they be weighed down by these events.
Fay Elberta freestone peaches were harvested at four maturity levels as judged by skin color and firmness. They were ripened at $68^{\circ}F$ under 80 percent relative humidity for 4, 6, 8 and 10 days respectively prior to canning. Results indicate that both harvest maturity and ripening conditions are important factors influencing quality, flavor and composition of canned freestone peaches. Peaches harvested at $18{\sim}24$ pounds on a Magness-Taylor pressure tester with a 7/16' plunger(M1) failed to ripen satisfactorily. Fruits harvested at $13{\sim}17$ pounds (M2) pressure test ripened successfully at $68^{\circ}F$ within 6 to 8 days; and those harvested at 6 to 12 pounds (M3) needed 4 days for ripening at $68^{\circ}F$. Tree-ripened fruits (M4) were undesirable for canning because of the high percentage of bruised fruits. The optimum firmness for canning appears to be in the range of 1.5 to 3.0 pounds. The titratable acidity of peaches decreased during maturation and ripening. The tannin content of peaches at M1 maturity decreased with ripening at $68^{\circ}F$. But no appreciable change was observed in the M2 and M3 series which were ripened at $68^{\circ}F$ for 4 to 10 days. The volatile reducing substances (V.R.S.) increased as the peaches developed on the tree and also during post-harvest ripening. The effect of harvest maturity and post-harvest ripening on color grade of the canned peaches is presented. Little difference was found in the flavor and composition of peaches peeled by the cup-down lye peeling and the steam-peeling methods. The cup-down lye-peeling method might be most advantageous because of its higher peeling efficiency.

This study was conducted to understand the environmental and ecological function of habitat through evaluation of water environment, soil environment, vegetation characteristics, macro-invertebrate characteristics, and visual habits environment evaluation (SVAP) in Hongdong stream located in Hongseong-Gun, Chungnam Province, and hereafter to utilize the results for the habits reconstruction and improvement project. As the results of water quality analysis, BOD, COD, T-P was almost below the standard quality from upper stream to down stream. The construction of small reservoir, wetland and water purification facility, and the management of non-point pollution are proposed to improve these problems. The soil texture was sandy soil, which is unfitted with vegetation development. The construction of shallows and bogs, and induction of soil sedimentation and biotope formation are proposed to improve these problems. In the plant flora, total 90 kinds were observed with 81 species and nine varieties in total 36 families and 85 genera, and the naturalization rate was higher at down area than upper area. As the results of macro-invertebrate fauna survey, total 26 species and 297 individuals in 20 families and 22 genera were collected. Peltodytes sinensis, Chironomidae sp., and Culicidae sp., which are observed at polluted environment, were collected as dominant species. An appropriate vegetation management party idea is necessary, and it is done an idea in consideration of the soil and a physical characteristic. Visual habits environment evaluation (SVAP) result was mostly determined with below normal (Fair) grade. Pollution source interception, purification pond establishment, and various bog establishment are proposed to improve these problems. With the above results, the ecological environment was determined with bad condition, and the improvement of biotope was urgently needed through sustainable monitoring and management of streams habitat in rural area.
The purpose of this study was done in order to investigate the Kinematical variables of the Rybalko motion on the Horizontal bar using the 3-dimensional cinematographic method. For this study, three excellent athletes take part in a 2003 Daegue universid game were chosen. The subject,s Rybalko motion was filmed with S-VHS camera at the speed of 60 fields per second and digitized the each fields. And the Kwon3D 3.1 version program was employed to obtain 3-dimensional data. As a result of this study. 1. A total time spent for performing Rybalko skill was Mean $2.52{\pm}0.13sec$. From starting down swing to releasing right hand the Mean $0.84{\pm}0.24sec$ was taken. 2. In the event 3 of Rybalko motion, that is, the moment which the right-hand is released on the bar, the center of mass must is employed at the position above the horizontal line of bar. In this research, the average vertical displacement(z axe) of center of mass shows $47.87{\pm}3.14cm$. 3. In the event 5, that is, the moment which the right-hand is catched again on the bar, the center of mass is employed at the position before the vertical line of bar. In this research, the average horizontal displacement(z axe) of center of mass shows $47.87{\pm}3.14cm$. 4. It has been seen that, at the moment of release of right-hand, lateral variation of center of mass is 13.395cm, vertical variation of center of mass is 7.41cm Thus, it is concluded that lateral variation of center of mass should be reduced for high grade to be acquired. 5. It has been founded that high speed of down swing influences speed of up swing, and that, in the motion of twist, the horizontal speed is little changed.
