대형트럭 프레임의 결합방법에 따른 비틀림 특성이 동적 성능에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Torsional Characteristics according to Mounting Method of the Frame of a Large-sized Truck on Dynamic Performance)

  • This paper evaluates dynamic performance of a cab over type large-sized truck for estimating the effects of frame's torsional characteristics using a computer model. The computer model considers two mounting methods of frame, flange mounting and web mounting. Frame is modeled by finite elements using MSC/NASTRAN In order to consider the flexibility of frame. The torsional test of the frame is conducted In order to validate the modeled finite element model. A load cell is used to measure the load applied to the frame. An angle sensor is used to measure the torsional angle. An actuator is used to apply a load to the frame. To estimate the effects of frame's torsional characteristics on dynamic performance, simulations are performed with the flange mounting and web mounting frame. Simulation results show that the web mounting frame's variations of roll angle, lateral acceleration, and yaw rate are larger than the flange mounting frame's variations, especially in the high velocity and the second part of the double lane course.

The Effectiveness of the Use of Custom-Made Foot Orthotics on Temporal-Spatial Gait Parameters in Children With Spastic Cerebral Palsy

  • This study examined the effects of custom-made foot orthotics on the temporal-spatial gait parameters in children with cerebral palsy. Twenty spastic bilateral cerebral palsy (spastic CP) children (11 boys and 9 girls) participated in this study. GAITRite was used to examine the velocity, cadence, step length differential, step length, stride length, stance time, single support time, double support time, base of support, and toe angle while walking with and without foot orthotics. The differences in temporal-spatial parameters were analyzed using paired t-test. The significance level was set at .05. The velocity, cadence, both step lengths, both stride lengths, both bases of support and right toe angle significantly increased when the children with spastic CP with foot orthotics compared to without foot orthotics (p<.05). The step length differential between the two extremities, left stance time and left single support time, significantly decreased with foot orthotics (p<.05). Right stance time, right single support time, both double support times and left toe angle showed little change (p>.05). This study demonstrated that foot orthotics were beneficial for children with spastic CP as a gait assistance tool.

Wideband Double Dipole Quasi-Yagi Antenna Using a Microstrip-to-Slotline Transition Feed

  • This paper describes a wideband double dipole quasi-Yagi antenna fed by a microstrip-to-slotline transition. The transition feed consists of a microstrip radial stub and a slot radial stub, each with the same angle of $90^{\circ}$ but with different radii, to achieve wideband impedance matching. Double dipoles with different lengths are utilized as primary radiation elements to enhance bandwidth and achieve stable radiation patterns. The proposed antenna has a measured bandwidth of 3.34~8.72 GHz for a -10 dB reflection coefficient and a flat gain of $6.9{\pm}0.6$ dBi across the bandwidth.

  • ATM(automated-teller machine) is a machine that receives and pays money directly. The double bill detector(DBD) module of an ATM detects double bills from its thickness. In this paper, the dynamic behavior of the DBD was analyzed, which cannot be simulated correctly by a package program of SAMCEF. And the displacements of the lever was measured for various bills experimentally. The measured dynamic behaviors were analyzed kinematically using a vector equation and simulated dynamically by the derivation of equation of motion with consideration of damping and stiffness of the DBD and bills. The analysis showed that the spring constant of the system is not so influential, instead, the contact angle between the lever and bill needs to be larger than the existing DBD in order to be laster and reliable DBD.

Sub-Synchronous Range of Operation for a Wind Driven Double-Fed Induction Generator

  • In this paper the operation of a double-fed wound-rotor induction machine, coupled to a wind turbine, as a generator at sub-synchronous speeds is investigated. A novel approach is used in the analysis, namely, the rotor power flow approach. The conditions necessary for operating the machine as a double-fed induction generator (DFIG) are deduced. Formulae describing the factors affecting the range of sub-synchronous speeds within which generation occurs are deduced. The variations in the magnitude and phase angle of the voltage injected to the rotor circuit as the speed of the machine changes to achieve generation at the widest possible sub-synchronous speed range is presented. Also, the effect of the rotor parameters on the generation range is presented. The analysis proved that the generation range could increase from sub-synchronous to super-synchronous speeds, which increases the amount of energy captured by the wind energy conversion system (WECS) as result of utilizing the power available in the wind at low wind speeds.

  • A numerical investigation was performed to determine the effect of airfoil on the optimum flap height using NACA 0021 Wells turbine. The five double flaps which have 0.5% chord height difference were selected. A Navier-Stokes code, FLUENT, was used to calculate the flow field of the Wells turbine. The basic feature of the Wells turbine is that even though the cyclic airflow produces oscillating axial forces on the airfoil blades, the tangential force on the rotor is always in the same direction. Geometry used to define the 3-D numerical grid is based upon that of an experimental test rig. This paper tries to analyze the optimum double flap of Wells turbine with the numerical analysis.

입상토의 응력경로 의존거동 (Stress-Path Dependent Behavior of Granular Soil)

  • The nature of stress-path dependency, the principle that governs deformations in granular soil, and the use of Lade's double work-hardening model for predicting soil response for a variety of stress-paths have been investigated, and are examined The test results and the analyses presented show that under some conditions granular soils exhibit stress-path dependent behavior. For stress-paths involving unloading or reloading, the stress-path with the higher average stress level produces the larger strains, whereas all stress-paths having the same intial states of stress, and involving only primary loading conditions, produce strains of similar magnitudes. Experimental evidence indicates that the stress- path dependent response obtained from the double work-hardening model is also observed for real soils. It is concluded that the influence of stress history on the friction angle is negligible and the strains increment direction is uniquely determined from the state of stress but is not perpendicular to the yield surface. The strains calculated from Lade's double work-hardening model are in reasonable agreement with those measured.

  • Generally, among many kinds of shading devices such as venetian blind, sunscreen, louver and curtain, venetian blind is using widely because the mechanism is so simple and easy to use solar insolation by controlling the slat angle. Analysis of time dependent heat transfer through the window with venetian blind is very important in order to use it effectivly. Therefore, in this study, theoretical thermal analysis method was developed to analyze time dependent heat transfer through a double pane window with and without venetian blind, and was made one module of TRNSYS(A Transient Simulation Program)program. By this way, it was analyzed that how much the variation of slat angle, slat colour and slat absorptivity of venetian blind would be affected on the heating and cooling load of building, and also which colour and angle of slat was optimal for the heating and cooling load of building.

충돌 제트로 형성되는 분무의 속도 특성에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Velocity Characteristics of the Spray Formed by Two Impinging Jets)

  • In this study, the velocity characteristics of liquid elements formed by two impinging jets is analysed using double pulse image capturing technique. For the droplets formed by low speed impinging jets, the droplet velocities are higher with smaller azimuthal and impingement angle. The maximum droplet velocities are about 25 % lower than jet velocity. With an increase of azimuthal angle, the shedding angles increases but remains lower than azimuthal angle. The velocities of ligaments formed by high speed impinging jets gradually decreases with an increase of azimuthal angle. The maximum ligament velocities are about 40 % lower than jet velocity. Higher impingement angles produce lower ligament velocities. The shedding angles of ligament almost increases with the same value of azimuthal angle, which implies that the moving direction of ligaments is radial from the origin as the impingement point.

  • In this study, using the numerical model, the flow motion around skewed abutment is investigated to evaluate the skewness effect on the flow distribution. The skewness angle of the abutment which make with main flow direction is changed from $30\circ$ to $150\circ$ with increments of $10\circ$ while the contraction ratios due to the abutment are kept constant. For the investigation of the combined effects on the relationship between the skewness angle and flow intensities, this process will be .repeated fer different types of abutment (single and double) with different flow intensities. The maximum velocities and the velocity distributions, which can be obtained from each angle, are examined and analyzed corresponding to different angles of inclination. Based on successive model applications, an empirical expression, given in a function of contracted ratio and skewness angle, is derived for relating velocity amplifications according to the angle variations.
