Through studies on "Dong Eui Bo Gam", I have looked into what kind of books are referred to and its comcompositive characteristics of Tai-yang disease of SangHan. This research is expected to be a new try for further "Dong Eui Bo Gam" researches.

Making a conclusion through the research done above may be rather haste, but summarizing the results of the research is as follows. 1. More prescriptions of exogenous diseases in the former term, and more prescriptions of inward damage in the latter term. 2. More unity of the prescription names in the former term, and less in the latter term. 3. It is hard to see that ${\ll}DongEuiBoGam{\gg}$ was widely used in practice.

By studing the congestion theory of Choo Dan-kyei mentioned in "DongEuiBoGam", I have reached following conclusions. 1. Dan-kyei's congestion theory influenced greatly on "DongEuiBoGam". The congestion theory of "DongEuiBoGam" is built up with several theories centering round on Dan-kyei's theory and Huh-Jun's own opinion in addition. 2. Dan-kyei's congestion theory has given theoretical foundation to the classification and diagnosis of congestion reported in "DongEuiBoGam"-Congestion Chapter. 3. Dan-kyei's congestion theory offers many examples of symptoms reported in "DongEuiBoGam"-Congestion Chapter. It's shown well through outer symptoms, several congestion disease, congestion mass, and "congestion never sudden death", etc. 4. Dan-kyei's congestion theory has influenced greatly on treatment of congestion reported in "DongEuiBoGam"-Congestion Chapter, and it's well shown through spewing method, grand method in congestion treatment and common medicine of congestion, etc. 5. Dan-kyei's congestion theory offers variety of treating methods to symptoms caused by congestion reported in "DongEuiBoGam". It's shown variously through upper stomachache, stomachache, back pain, side pain, "San", joint pain, Summer disease, internal injury, cough and morning sickness, etc.. 6. Dan-kyei's congestion theory has factors that could be operated to common diseases of mordern people. They can be classified as food congestion, alcohol congestion, obstruction congestion and Qi congestion, and they are clinically very efficient.

1. In Dong-Eui-Bo-Gam, Ondamtng & its Gagambang are applied for the sudden palpitation, epilepsy, the insomnia of exhaustion and an acute convulsion which are caused by the asthenia of heart and gall bladder(心膽虛怯). 2. In Dong-Eui-Bo-Gam, Guibitang & its Gagambang are applied for amnesia, amenorrhea, upper abdominal pain, the itching sign the pubic region, the hernia of the vulva which are caused by the asthenia of heart and spleen(心脾兩虛). 3. In Dong-Eui-Bo-Gam, Soyosan & its Gagambang are applied for epilepsy, the hemorrhage in time of coughing, the intermittent fever, metrorrhagia, various woman's diseases which are caused by the depression of vital energy of liver(肝氣鬱結).

It is different from the DongEuiBoGam(東醫寶鑑) of Korea traditional medicine that China BeunJungLonChi(中醫辨證論治) was made for the scientific and systematic assortment of China medicine. Symptom(症)is more important than symptom complex(證)in china BeunJungLonChi at DonEuBoGam. And unusual symptoms generally are diseases in DongEuiBoGam. DongEuiBoGam is emphasis on body form, temper, body color, pulse(形氣色脈) and the functional difference of organs by body form and body color. there are many problems in order to unify the theory of Korea traditional medicine by china BeunJungLonChi. I suggest that a new assortment that can combine Sasang constitutional medicine(四象醫學), Constitution-Acupuncture(體質針), and Hyungsang medicine(四象醫學) will be necessary. BeunJungLonChi : diagnosis and treatment based on overall analysis of symptoms and signs, the cause, nature and location of the illness and the patient's physical condition according to the basic theories of traditional Chinese medicine

Objectives In the later period of Choseon dynasty, korean pediatrics became a pivot part of medicine. SoAUiBang was the most important book in that era. DongEuiBoGam was the most widely read of all oriental medicine books and published in early days of the Choseon dynasty. Therefore, this comparative study on the prescription and formation of SoAUiBang and DongEuiBoGam could be a useful way to understand SoAUiBang's characteristics. Methods This study was based on SoAUiBang and DongEuiBoGam, two literatures of oriental medicine. Results 1. Formation of SoAUiBang had a similar aspect with that of DongEuiBoGam's and enlarged the area of pediatrics by featuring general medical books. However, its formation did not follow the DongEuiBoGam's, but had its unique formation. It tried to include all diseases of pediatrics in the system of DongEuiBoGam. Plus, smallpox and measles belonged to the epidemic diseases were excluded from the area of pediatrics. 2. Comparing SoAUiBang's prescription of some important diseases with DongEuiBoGam's, it was almost a prescription based on DongEuiBoGam's prescription. However, adjustment of herbs and dosages could not be found in any oriental medicine books including DongEuiBoGam. Conclusions SoAUiBang maintained the traditional Oriental medicine based on author's scholarly creativeness. In addition, it also inherited the lineage of medicine in Korea along with the pedigree of DongEuiBoGam. Therefore, SoAUiBang should be re-evaluated as a medicine book that opened a new field of pediatric and had great academic values.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to find a way to apply current oriental pediatrics treatment guidelines based on a pediatric chapter in DongEuiBoGam. Methods I learned pediatrics prescription formula, indications of drugs, dosage regimen from DongEuiBoGam, and I classified herbs that can be used for pediatrics prescriptions based on their types, effects, tempers, flavors, toxicities, and attributive channels. Results & Conclusions I learned similarities among pediatrics prescription regimens and the herbs commonly used in pediatrics. Also, I found out physiological and pathological characteristics in pediatrics. I expect that this study would be helpful for current oriental pediatric treatments.

Hominis placenta have been studied as herbal acupuncture because of it's limitation of use. The properties of Hominis placenta are warm and supplement of Jeong-Hyeol, Jin-Ki and I thought that Hominis placenta have various effectiveness. So I considered Hominis placenta in Dong-Eui-Bo-Gam which is famous comprehensive korean traditional medical book. Hominis placenta was mentioned parts of Sin, Chung, Hwa, Heo-Ro, Bu-In and most of them are mentioned in Heo-Ro part. As a source book, Eui-Hak-Ib-Mun was used the most. Prescription used in various parts as mental disease, forgetfulness, tuberculosis, fever, various malnutrition disease, sterility, but it's basic principle action is all supplement of Heo-Ro. In management of Hominis placenta, most useing method is heating with steam and most of additional medicinal stuffs had action of supplying Eum, Yang, Ki, Hyeol in composition of prescription.

This study is about researching mechanistic pattern identification of disease for DongEuiBoGam NaeGyungPyen by analysing with pattern identification of modern Traditional Korean medical patholgy as more logical, systematic and standardized theory. Disease pattern mechanisms of uterine, urine and excrements parts of DongEuiBoGam NaeGyun gPyen in NaeGyungPyen of DongEuiBoGam are these. Menstrual irregularities in DongEuiBoGam can be classified flui d-humor depletion, blood deficiency, qi deficiency, qi stagnation, qi stagnation complicated by heat, blood stasis, blood deficiency complicated by heat, syndrome of heat entering blood chamber, syndrome of cold entering blood chamber. The disease pattern of abdominal pain after menstruation in DongEuiBoGam is blood deficiency complicated by heat, and a dysmenorrhea represents blood stasis with heat, fluid-humor deficiency. Advanced menstruation represent dual heat of the qi and blood, delayed menstruation is blood deficiency. The disease pattern of inhibited urination in DongEuiBoGam can be classified deficiency heat pattern of kidney yin deficiency(yin deficiency with effulgent fire), kidney qi deficiency, yin deficiency with yang hyperactivity, fluid-humor depletion, spleen-stomach dual deficiency, and excess he at pattern of bladder excess heat. The disease pattern of urinary incontinence in DongEuiBoGam can be classified deficiency pattern of kidney-bladder qi deficiency, consumptive disease, lung qi deficiency, kidney yin deficiency(yin deficiency with effulgent fire), kidney yang deficiency and excess pattern of lower energizer blood amassment, bladder excess heat. And most of them are deficiency from deficiency-excess Pattern Identification. The disease pattern of diarrhea in DongEuiBoGam can be classified deficiency pattern of qi deficiency, qi fall, spleen yang deficiency, kidney yang deficiency and so on and excess pattern of wind-cold-summerheat-dampness-fire, phlegm-fluid retention, dietary irregularities, qi movement stagnation. And most of them are deficiency from deficiency-excess Pattern Identification. Like these, this study identify pattern of disease in DongEuiBoGam by mechanism of disease theory.
