Objectives : The purpose of study is to compare the effects of acupuncture therapy and acupuncture with Dong-Qi therapy for the patients with ankle sprain. Methods : This study has been carried out for 67 cases of ankle sprain patients who have visited Dong-Seo Oriental Medical Hospital from March 30, 2004 to October 12, 2002. 67 patients were randomized into two groups. We have treated 34 cases(sample group) of them by acupuncture therapy and the other 33 cases(control group) by acupuncture with Dong-Qi therapy. We have confirmed VAS 10 degree before treatment and checked VAS after treatment. We have compared those two group. Results & Conclusion : 1. Sample group : The VAS mean is $6.47{\pm}0.24$ after treatment. 2. Control : The VAS mean is $4.3{\pm}0.256$ alter treatment. The conclusion of this study was that The Dong-Qi Acupuncture Therapy is more effective than The Acupuncture Therapy without Dong-Qi for the Patient with Ankle Sprain.

Objectives : The aim of this study was to show the application to add the Dong-Qi therapy of the Dong-Si acupuncture to exercise therapy of the movement system impairment syndrome(MSIS) and to determine the best acupuncture point for the Dong-Qi therapy. Methods : We reviewed Diagnosis and Treatment of Movement Impairment Syndrome and Movement System Impairment Syndromes Of The Extremities, Cervical and Thoracic Spines written by Sahrmann SA. to show the exercise therapy of the sort of MSIS. We reviewed complete works of Yang Wei Jie to show the acupuncture points of the Dong-Si acupuncture and the Dong-Qi therapy. Results : We showed the acupuncture point of the Dong-Si acupuncture by each type of MSIS based on the reference book of MSIS, the Dong-Si acupuncture. Also, we selected and tabulated the best possible acupuncture point of the Dong-Si acupuncture which could minimize a side effect of acupuncture during the therapeutic exercise by each type of MSIS. Conclusion : A specific acupuncture point of the Dong-Si acupuncture could be chosen for a specific MSIS therapeutic exercise. The best possible acupuncture point could be chosen when selecting an acupuncture point of the Dong-Si acupuncture.

Objectives : This report intended to estimate effects taken by using Dong-Qi Acupuncture Therapy on a patient with neurogenic bladder induced by transverse myelitis(712, L1 level). Methods : From 6th May, 2005 to 30th June, 2005. The patient received Dong-Qi Acupuncture Therapy. Results : 1. Since being hospitalized, the patient's voiding has improved from intermittent catheterization to independent urination state. And the volume of residual urine has decreased from 150cc-350cc to 0cc-l0cc. 2. The urodynamic findings showed that first sensation, maximal detrusor pressure, compliance and maximal bladder capacity changed from 456ml to 195mL, from 29cmH2O to 31cmH2O, from none to 25.31mL/cmH2O, from under 650mL to 590mL, respectively. Conclusion : We considered Dong-Qi Acupuncture Therapy had a useful effect on Neurogenic Bladder.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to observe the effects of Dong-Qi acupuncture treatment for the patients with low back pain and sciatica. Methods : 60 patients were divided into two, Group A of 30 persons and Group B of 30 persons. Only Group A was treated with Dong-Qi acupuncture treatment, Group B was treated with just Dong-Qi acupuncture treatment. Results : In VAS, Group A is $6.57{\pm}1.91$ and Group B is $5.20{\pm}2.22(P=0.013)$. In Improvement index, Group A is $0.2295{\pm}0.1036$ and Group B is $0.1545{\pm}0.0895\;(P=0.004)$. Conclusions : We knew that Dong-Qi acupuncture treatment is more effective.

Objective : We have studied literatures of Renying Qi mouth comparison pulse diagnosis theory and distinguished the excess, deficiency and quick-temper of pulse as the measurement parameter of Renying Qi mouth pulse diagnosis. Methods : We have acquired pulse signals of Renying Qi mouth by using diagnostic equipment of Renying Qi mouth pulsation and estimated reappearance of pulse signals. Results : 1. The measurement parameter of Renying Qi mouth pulse diagnosis distinguishes the excess, deficiency and quick-temper of pulse through relative comparison of Renying Qi mouth. 2. When we acquired the pulse singals of Renying Qi mouth by using diagnostic equipment, the property, measuring area, bias pressure, contact or adhesion state of the sensor are considered. 3. As getting the pulse signal of Renying Qi mouth, the sensor of a sound detective mode is effective. 4. The diagnostic equipment of Renying Qi mouth pulse is assessed as being significant reappearance.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the clinical effects of Dong-qi acupuncture on piriformis for herniated intervertebral disc(HIVD) of lumbar spine patients with piriformis muscles tenderness. Methods : This research was carried out on the 60 inpatients who received treatment for their HIVD of lumbar spine from January 1 to May 31, 2014 in DaeJeon Jaseng Hospital of Korean Medicine. We divided them into two groups ; group A(n=30) : common treatment on HIVD of L-spine without Dong-qi acupuncture on piriformis(acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, herb medication, Chuna and physiotherapy), and group B(n=30) : common treatment on HIVD of L-spine with Dong-qi acupuncture on piriformis. We evaluated the treatment effect of each group on tenderness(checked by Algometer pressure), and with a numeric rating scale(NRS), and oswestry disability index(ODI). The evaluations of tenderness were performed 8 times : admission day, and on the 3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th, 15th, 18th and 21st day after admission. The evaluations of NRS and ODI were performed 3 times : admission day, and on the 12th and 21st day after admission. The statistical significance was evaluated by SPSS 18.0 for Windows. Results : In group B, tenderness was significantly decreased compared with group A. The difference of tenderness from admission day to the 12th day showed significant reduction compared with group A. Conclusions : Dong-qi acupuncture is more effective in reducing piriformis muscle tenderness in the early stages of treatment. We expect that patients who receive Dong-qi acupuncture will be satisfied with Korean medical treatment and trust their doctor.

It is very important to understand objectively the Qi variation induced by the reinforcing-reducing manipulation method in the therapy of acupuncture. The Qi variation in the meridian treated by O-Haeng Reinforcing-Reducing Manipulation Acupuncture Method and the recovery of Five Phase deviation were measured by choosing complex acupoints. By using O-Haeng Reinforcing-Reducing Manipulation Acupuncture Method, we increased or decreased the Qi of the phase which caused the unbalance state. We observed whether the Qi of the treated meridian can be increased or not and if the state of unbaIance can be recovered. To achieve the effect of reinforcing-reducing, we need a correct choice of treating method and a selection of a proper meridian in advance. We discovered that the effects of reinforcing-reducing by each manipulation method could be superposed each other, when two counteracting O-Haeng Reinforcing-Reducing Manipulation Acupuncture Method were treated at the left and the right side of human body. We found that the Qi variation of the traeted meridian, which was induced by O-Haeng Reinforcing-Reducing Manipulation Acupuncture Method, is lineary proportioned to the reduction of Five Phase deviation.

Objective : The purpose of This study is to analyze influence of functional and clinical improvement effect on temporomandibular disorders of Dong-Qi acupuncture treatment that often be used to temporomandibular disorder patients. Methods : We investigated to focus temporomandibular disorders in Jaseng oriental medicine hospital from September 8, 2000 to March 22, 2001. We compared to before and after treatment situation using temporomandibular disease & facial ache dolor pain and malignant function disorders & activation inhibition analysis from one cured Dong-Qi acupuncture treatment of outpatients-40 examples. Results : These results appeared that Sex distinction occurrence ratio was much more female than male of 1: 7. Age distinction occupied the most ratio in 20-30 generation. Jobs was mainly ranked students and companion. In cases treated before visiting our hospital, was mainly ranked our hospital first dignosis. the distribution interval of solider was mainly followed above 3 years. the distribution interval of treatment was mainly gone within 1 month and above 3 month, frequency of treatment was examined below 5 times, into 6 to 10 times, more than 11 times, respectively. Everything showed a very valuable effect except chewing and dentalgia in decrease of ache dolor pain and linkage pain related to mal-function. There are meaningful effect in Every part on Mal-function improvement. Every contents showed a very excellent effect except activation such as motivation ingestion and recreation in influence of activation. Conclusion : The above results showed a very valuable treatment effect of temporomandibular disorders on Dong-Qi acupuncture treatment. Therefore we are considered the necessity of continuous study and observation applying to other disease as well as temporomandibular disorders.

Objective : We have studied the part, definition, diagnostic generaliztion and pathological viewpoint of Qi mouth and Renying by refering literatures Methods : I refered to records from anciant to modern. The results are followings : 1. Qi mouth and Renying is ancient diagnostic method and the origin of diagnostic method through the pulsation of radial artery. And Qi mouth is recognized as the right and left Qi mouth and Renying is located on pulsation points of both common carotid arteries. 2. The yin of five viscera, nutritional blood and viscous liquid are diagnosed by Qi mouth which is inclued lung meridian. And the yang of six organs, guarding Qi and the rise and fall of stomach energy are diagnosed by Renying which is inclued stomach meridian. 3. It is possible that the position, process and transformational condition of disease are decided by comparing and examining Qi mouth and Renying.

Objectives : The purpose of this case is to report the improvement of a patient with lymphedema due to axillary lymph node dissection after acupuncture therapy and herbal medicine. Methods : We treated the patient with Dong-Qi acupuncture, herbal medication(木通大安湯), lymph absorption massage, compresses, abdominal breathing. We measured the circumference of the patient's elbow and wrist every day at 6pm. Results : Since being hospitalized, the circumference of the patient' elbow and wrist has been decreased and VAS score has gotten lower gradually. Conclusions : We considered Dong-Qi acupuncture, herbal medication had a useful effect on lymphedema due to axillary lymph node dissection with lymph absorption massage, compresses, abdominal breathing.
