신진 디자이너 브랜드의 시장 지향성 고찰 (A Qualitative Study on Market Orientation of New Designer Brand)

  • This study explores the level of designer brands' market oriented attitude through a conceptual framework of market orientation. Designer brands have rapidly increased in the Korean fashion market with a competitive environment that pushes designers to improve market oriented attitudes and strategy. Designers working for 20 brands that the government designated as 'promising creative designer brands' were invited for in-depth interviews, 19 designers from 18 brands participated in this study. The generation of market intelligence that composes market orientation meant that the designers were confirmed to collecting different types of information according to information sources. They showed interest in collecting information on the exploration of design trends from overseas designers as well as operational and managerial information from domestic designers. Fashion-related stakeholders mainly collected feedback on design concepts from the press and public institutions. They collected customer feedback from buyers; however, appropriate feedback was inadequate. Designers generally appeared to place less value on the collection of customer responses and opinions; however, two groups of designers showed customer-oriented attitudes according to accumulated experience. The market-oriented attitude of top designers had an important role in designer brands; consequently, top designers should be properly trained to improve market-oriented attitudes to increase market performance.

  • This study concerns the importance of internal marketing, employee's attitude, and customer orientation through the change of port industry and the operational condition of domestic container terminals. In accordance with this, the structural relationship among variables, which are internal marketing, employee's attitude and customer orientation in container terminals need to be acknowledged to secure competitive advantage and to maintain continuous transaction relationship with customer through the empirical research. The purpose of this study is to firstly, understand the current facilities and situation of container terminals in Busan port, and its changing environment of port industry. Secondly, provide basic information through the seeking whether the concept of internal marketing is able to apply into port industry. Thirdly, establish the theoretical system through the literature consideration on internal marketing, employee's attitude and customer orientation in container terminals. Finally, draw useful suggestions for managing container terminals through the structural relationship among variables, which are internal marketing, employee's attitude and customer orientation in container terminals.

원전 재료열화 평가프로그램 개발 (Development of Materials Degradation Evaluation Program for Nuclear Power Plants)

  • The renewed global interest in nuclear power has arisen from the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to provide sufficient electricity for a growing global population before the accident at Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant in Japan. In spite of the safety issues of nuclear power plants raised by the ongoing Japanese nuclear crisis, many countries with nuclear power plants (NPPs) are still implementing license extensions of 10~20 years, and even consideration is being given to the concept of life-beyond-60, a further period of license extension from 60 to 80 years. To solving the materials aging problem is integral to its success. To evaluate the plant aging phenomena, a lot of background information such as materials and environment of the parts of the reactor and plant systems is needed by the experts. Information on degradation mechanisms is also used. In this paper, a materials degradation evaluation program called OnMDE-SYS (On-line Materials Degradation Evaluation System) is introduced. The developed program provides a variety of information on the materials and stressors as well as operational experience to the experts. It is also anticipated that the experts can perform materials degradation assessment on the web directly by referring to domestic and international information about the degradation of a nuclear power plants through OnMDE-SYS.

과학기술자 지식 교류 서비스 활성화 요소 비교 연구 (Activation of Knowledge Exchange in the Researcher Community)

  • 학문 분야의 융 복합화가 진행되고 웹 2.0 등장에 따른 온라인 협업 환경이 조성되면서 연구자들의 온라인 지식 교류 활동이 증가하고 있다. 국내에도 다양한 과학기술자 커뮤니티가 존재하나 단순 자료 교환 수준의 교류는 활발하나 고급 지식의 교류는 미약한 편이다. 글로벌 무한 경쟁 시대에 지식을 습득하고 자산화 하는데 소요되는 시간은 연구생산성에 큰 영향을 미치므로 과학기술자들의 온라인 지식 교류 활성화가 매우 중요한 상황이다. 본 연구에서는 과학기술자 지식 교류 서비스의 발전 방안을 제시하고자 참여 활성화, 지식 품질 제고, 교류 신속성을 주안점으로 하여 국내외의 다양한 지식 교류 서비스를 비교 분석하였으며 특히 국내의 대표적 사례인 KOSEN What is? 서비스 운영 사례를 집중 분석하였다. 연구 결과 교류되는 지식의 품질은 필수 조건이며 보다 활성화된 지식 교류를 위해서는 전문가 참여 유도, 전문가 매칭 시스템 개발, 지식 교류의 신속성 강화, 사용성 편의성 증진, 재미 요소 도입 등 다양한 운영 활동이 필요한 것으로 확인되었다.

A case study on the economic feasibility of different patterns of green care and healing complexes

  • Korean agriculture has recently focused on the 6th dimension of industrialization, which includes the functions of healing and care. The green care and healing business is one of the most representative models, satisfying modern consumers' needs for care or healing in rural agricultural environments. Many studies have shown physical and social benefits from green care and healing, but studies regarding economic performance are rarely found. The present study aimed to analyze the economic feasibility of different green care and healing farm complexes proposed in recent domestic research, with various possible combinations of business scenarios. The results show that most of the scenarios are economically feasible as B/C (benefit-cost ratio) and IRR (internal rate of return) are 1.19 and 8.53%, respectively, under scenario 1. This study also performed a break-even analysis for providing more flexible decision-making information. Overall, scenario 1 from green care and healing site and scenario 4 from green care and healing cluster are found to be superior to the other scenarios in terms of B/C and IRR. The scenarios in this study reflect the domestic farms or complexes which have similar functions of care or healing. Therefore, the results of this study provide information on practical policies and business implications in making decisions on the specific size and operational patterns when adopting green care and healing complexes by central or local governments and private sectors in the future.

Development of Ground Monitoring and Control System for Korea Augmentation Satellite System

  • The Korea Augmentation Satellite System (KASS) is the first satellite navigation enhancement system in Korea developed in compliance with international standards. Technologies accumulated during the development process should be spread to industries such as academia and serve as the basis for developing the domestic satellite navigation field. This paper introduces the development process from design to implementation, testing, and verification of KASS control systems (KCS). First, development standards, milestones, requirements, and interface standards are presented as KCS development methods, and major functional design, physical design, and hardware/software implementation are described based on the allocated requirements. Subsequently, the verification environment, procedures, and results of the development product are covered and the developed operational and maintenance procedures are described. In addition, based on the experience gained through the development, suggestions were made for beneficial technology development and organization when promoting satellite navigation projects in the future. Since this work has important historical value for the development of domestic satellite navigation, it is expected that the development results will be shared with academia and industry in the future and be used as basic data for similar development.

DEA와 Malmquist 생산성지수를 이용한 우리나라 온라인쇼핑업체의 다기간 경영 효율성 분석 (Evaluating the Multi-Period Management Efficiency of Domestic Online-Shopping Companies)

  • Purpose - Online shopping enables consumers to conveniently purchase products irrespective of the time and place. As a result, several online shopping companies have emerged to cater to this growing market and, therefore, the competition among them has become increasingly intense. This paper evaluates the comparative efficiency of online shopping companies for a multi-year period (2009-2013), in order to help online shopping managers identify major drivers for enhancing management efficiency and the subsequent competitiveness. Research design, data, and methodology - The researchers collected the data from 2009 to 2013 from the distribution yearbook. This paper analyzes the marketability (sales figures), profitability (business profits), and management conditions (net profits) of domestic online shopping enterprises by incorporating information on human resources (number of employees) and material resources (total assets and capital). Therefore, the number of employees, total assets, and capital are selected as input variables, and sales figures, business profits, and net profits as the output variables. In this study, Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) was used to measure the comparative efficiency of domestic online shopping companies. In addition, the Malmquist Productivity Index was used to evaluate the trend of change of Decision Making Units' (DMUs') efficiency for a multi-year period. Results - First, as of 2013, Interpark (2.415) was found to be the most efficient online shopping enterprise, followed by Aladdin Communications (2.117), Hyundai Home shopping (1.867), Home&Shopping (1.176), NS Home shopping (1.170), Commerce Planet (1.126), CJ O Shopping (1.105), Ebay Korea (1.088), and GS Home Shopping (1.051). Second, this study recognizes how the management efficiency has changed for the period 2009-2013. Third, the lesser the capital and employees, the more are the net profits, and the better is the management efficiency of domestic online shopping companies. Lastly, the productivity of such companies is influenced by endogenous factors rather than exogenous factors such as shifts in business environment and technological advances. Conclusions - DHC Korea influenced various distribution channels to reach customers through the Internet. Consequently, this helped in increasing the awareness about its products, in addition to an increase in sales. These achievements can be attributed to the characteristics of online shopping companies. Although it is easy for these companies to suggest goods for one-off purchases, they however have difficulties in retaining customers. Overcoming this challenge can be one of the ways to benchmark a successful case of an efficient company. For example, an online shopping company can attract customers by developing a corresponding mobile application as a convenient way to shop online. Additionally, they can satisfy customers by quick delivery of purchased products, which is possible by building an effective logistics network. Our study indicates that the productivity of an online shopping company was influenced by endogenous factors driven by improvements in managerial practices rather than exogenous factors. Accordingly, online shopping companies should adopt strategies to improve their operational efficiency rather than sales volume-oriented management.

국내외 극지 교육 프로그램 분석 (Analysis of Polar Education Programs)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내외 극지 관련 연구소 및 기관에서 운영하고 있는 극지 교육 프로그램의 교수 학습 특징을 분석하여 국내 극지 교육 프로그램에 대한 개선 방향을 제공하고자 한다. 이를 위해 극지연구소에서 제공하는 데이터베이스를 활용하여 33개국 45곳의 극지 관련 연구소 및 기관 중 최종적으로 9개국 16곳의 연구소 및 기관에서 현재 운영하고 있는 120개의 프로그램을 선정했다. 교육 대상, 교수자, 교육 기간, 교육 장소, 운영 방식, 교수 학습 내용, 교수 학습 방법을 분석 기준으로 하여 프로그램들을 분석했다. 연구 결과 교수자, 운영 방식, 교육 장소, 교수 학습 방법에서 국내외 프로그램의 유의미한 차이가 발견되었다. 이를 토대로 실제 프로그램 사례를 통해 극지 교육의 저변 확대, 극지 교육 프로그램 교육 방법의 다양화, 극지 교육의 체계화 측면에서 국내 극지 교육 개선 방향에 대해 논의했다. 본 연구는 극지에 대한 과학, 사회·경제·문화적 가치와 중요성을 토대로 우리나라의 극지 교육과 문화를 더욱 확산, 지속할 수 있는 구체적인 방안을 제시한다.

특화도서관 운영 가이드라인 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Developing Guidelines for Specialized Public Library)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 공공도서관이 지역콘텐츠 및 지역민의 요구에 부합한 특화주제를 선정하고 이를 기반으로 특화도서관을 운영함에 있어 필요한 실질적 가이드라인을 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위해 총 43개 국내 외 도서관을 선정하여 특화도서관 설립과정, 지역적 특성, 특화장서, 특화예산, 특화인력, 특화네트워크, 특화시설 및 환경, 특화프로그램, 홍보 등을 조사하여 시사점을 도출하였다. 도출된 시사점을 기반으로 운영 가이드라인을 4단계로 제안하였는데, 특화서비스 지원체계를 확립하고 지역밀착형 특화주제를 선정하는 준비단계, 선정된 특화주제를 서비스하기 위하여 도서관 환경을 조성하는 조성단계, 특화주제 관련 정보복합문화서비스를 기획하고 제공하는 운영단계, 서비스 고도화 및 확장을 위하여 도서관 외부기관과 소통하는 확산단계 등이다.

재래시장의 문제점과 사례 분석을 통한 활성화 방안 (A Study of Activation Approaches by the on the Analysis Problems and Success Cases of Traditional Markets)

  • 유통시장 전면 개방 이후 외국유통업체 및 국내 대기업의 유통산업 진입, 정보화 사회에 따른 인터넷 통신판매 급증, 소득수준의 향상으로 인한 고급화 및 규격화 추구, 젊은 층을 중심으로 편리성을 중시하는 소비패턴 변화 등의 이유로 재래시장은 소비자에게 점점 더 외면 받고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 새로운 유통환경변화 속에서 재래시장의 침체 원인 및 문제점을 파악하고, 해외 재래시장 및 국내 재래시장의 활성화 사례 분석을 통해 국내 재래시장의 활성화 방안을 모색해보고자 한다. 사례분석 결과 활성화에 성공한 시장의 경우 초기에 활성화에 강한 의지를 갖고 있던 리더십 있는 소수의 상인에 의해 시작된 사례가 많다는 것이다. 특히 하드웨어적인 측면의 시장 활성화보다는 경영의 효율화나 마케팅력 강화와 같은 소프트웨어 측면의 활성화대책이 상대적으로 효과가 높다는 것이다. 또한 신용거래의 정착에 필수적인 신용카드 이용확대를 위한 노력이 중요한데, 신용카드가맹점의 확대를 위해서는 신용카드 장점과 기대효과에 대한 상인들의 인식제고가 필요하다. 이러한 연구결과는 재래시장에 많은 소비자들이 스스로 방문하여 쇼핑의 즐거움과 편의성, 그리고 시간적, 금전적, 심리적 가치를 창출할 수 있는 장소가 될 수 있도록 시장 생태계를 조성하는 방안을 제시하는데 의의가 있다.
