  • Processsive ubiquitous networks have impressed us with alternative features, divesity or security. When the diversity from small devices to large machines is in normal states, ubiquitous networks are fundamental and useful. We have developed a mobile processor dedicated to multimedia cryptography. We have focus on the multimedia cryptography by the dedicated processor.

  • URP primers that were derived from repetitive DNA sequence of rice weedy rice have been applied for producing PCR polymorphisms in different fungal species. URP-PCR protocol employed stringent PCR with high annealing temperature over $55^{\circ}C$ throughout the thermo-cycling reaction, giving high reproducibility. Under the PCR condition, Each single URP primer produced characteristic fingerprints from diverse genomes of different fungal species, indicating its universal applicability. URP-PCR has been accessed for applicability to various fungal species with 33 genus, 142 species and 1,489 isolates. Numerous related papers have demonstrated that URP-PCR profiles of fungal species are very useful for identifying fungal species at intra and inter species levels. The results were reviewed in this paper.

  • As a subset investigation to discover indigenous prokaryotic species in Korea, a total of 21 bacterial strains assigned to the class Betaproteobacteria were isolated from a wide range of environmental samples which collected from fresh water, roots of plants, mineral water and soil from ginseng farm. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences indicated that 21 isolated strains were most closely related to the class Betaproteobacteria, with high 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity (>99.1%) and constructed a robust phylogenetic clade with the closest species in the class Betaproteobacteria. These isolated species have no previous report or publication in Korea; therefore 17 species in 14 genera of 6 families in the order Burkholderiales, 1 species in the order Methylophilales, 2 species in 2 genera of 1 family in the order Neisseriales are reported for betaproteobacterial species found in Korea. Gram reaction, colony and cell morphology, basic biochemical characteristics, isolation source, and strain IDs are also described in the species description section and as an image.

  • Genetic variation of Perilla germplasms was investigated using RAPD markers. Forty-two Perilla frutescens lines and cultivars collected form locals were subjected to RAPD analysis using 220 primers. Among them only 13 primers showed polymorphic bands and these 13 primers provided a total of 144 bands, consist of 115 polymorphic and 29 monomorphic ones. The polymorphic bands were subjected to phylogenetic analysis using UPGMA and maximum parsimony (MP) methods. In the UPGMA method, similarity coefficiency of 42 Perilla frutescens lines and cultivars ranged from 0 to 0.7842. The dendrogram of 42 lines and cultivars obtained through UPGMA method resulted in two major groups, and the similar clustering pattern was found by MP method, suggesting Perilla germplasms utilized in this study truly can be divided into two major groups. Although the two major groups were consistent roughly with their phenotypes (under of node, weight of 1,000 grains, and oil content), in detail, much inconsistency also was present.

  • The investigation of the kinds and density of white grubs in relation to soil texture, forages, years after pasture establishment, and management methods in pasture were surveyed in Livestock Experiment Station, Suwon by digging 5 sites($100cm{\times}100cm$) in a month from April to October during 1985. The results obtained were summarized as follows; No difference was observed in white grub species divesity in relation to soil texture, forages, years after pasture establishment, and management method of pasture, but the abundance of each species was different from the environmental factors.1. On the soil texture; Miridiba kureana, Popillia uchidai, Holotrichia mmosa and Holotrichia diomphalia occurred in the clay loam field, whereas Anomala corpulenta and Anomala mfocuprea in the sandy loam. 2. On the forage; the density of all species except Popillia uchidai was higher in grass than legume. 3. On the years after pasture extablishment; both of the species diversity and abundance were increased 3 years after pasture establishment and maximized at the 5th year.4. On the management methods of pasture; species diversity and abundance were higher in meadows than pastures.

  • In this paper, we propose a new hierarchical modulation scheme for DVB-NGH to improve the performance of LP (Low-Parity) signals by applying a conventional constellation-rotation method to the LP signals without virtually a loss of performance of a HP (High-Parity) signals. The improvement of the LP signals is mainly due to the increased divesity gain caused by the constellation-rotation method which barely affect the performance of the HP signals. For the new scheme, we also propose a hardware-efficient ML (Maximum-Likelihood) detection algorithm that first decodes the HP signals by using a conventional HP receiver, and then simply decodes the precoded LP signals based on the pre-detected HP signals.

  • In an ever-tougher competitive environment caused by globalization, domestic companies are increasingly adopting business strategies aimed at continuously securing competitive advantage by taking advantage of globally-competitive foreign professionals. Despite a persistent rise of such trend, domestic researches regard migrant workers as the socially underprivileged, and delve into the issue of migrant workers from the policy, welfare, and ethical perspectives. With a growing need to deal with migrant professionals from the strategic viewpoint - to acquire professional talent in an era of global competition, it becomes essential to verify the real effectiveness of migrant professionals. Yet, there has been relatively little discussion of it. This study assumes that based on th137e integration-learning perspective on diversity, the greater the number of foreign professionals, the greater the effect on organizational innovative performance. Also could be effective in managing diversity is diversity-friendly HRM which involves eliminating discrimination against migrant professional workers and treating them fairly. Based on the data collected from 72 domestic companies, this study conducted an empirical analysis of the impact of the percentage of foreign professionals in the total workforce on organizational innovative performance and of the moderating role of diversity-friendly HRM. The results show that the proportion of foreign professionals in the entire workforce has had no significant impact on organizational innovative performance, and that the proportion of foreign professionals in the total workforce and diversity-friendly HRM have had a interaction effect on organizational innovative performance. Based on these research results, the study attempted to interpret the significance of the proportion that migrant professionals make up of the total workforce and of diversity-friendly HRM in relation to organizational innovative performance, and their implications for diversity management.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the structure of vegetation dominated by deciduous broad-leaved trees at the Beomeosa(Temple) Valley of Mt. Kumjungsan in Busan. To this end, 28 plots were set up and surveyed. The result analyzed by TWINSPAN, one of the classification technique, showed that the communities were divided into six groups which are Carpinus tschonoskii-Deciduous broad-leaved forest community(I), Quercus serrata-C. tschonoskii community(II), C. tschonoskii-Q.s serrata-Pinus densiflora community(III), C. tschonoskii-Quercus serrata-Q. mongolica communtiy(IV), Q. serrata-Deciduous broadleaved forest community(V) and Chamaecyparis obtusa-C. tschonoskii community (VI). Species diversity ranged from 0.3832 to 0.0450. The lowest diversity was Chamaecyparis obtusa community(VI) but the highest was Carpinus tschonoskii-Deciduous broad-leaved forest community(I) and Q. serrata-Deciduous broadleaved forest community(V). The average number of species was 6.8${\pm}$3.2 in the unit area(100$m^2$). Carpinus tschonoskii community at the Beomeosa Valley of Mt. Geumjeongsan was a climatic climax forest having a value to preserve, so a continuous management will be needed.
