Real time Background Estimation and Object Tracking (실시간 배경갱신 및 이를 이용한 객체추적)

  • Object tracking in a real time environment is one of challenging subjects in computer vision area during past couple of years. This paper proposes a method of object detection and tracking using adaptive background estimation in real time environment. To obtain a stable and adaptive background, we combine 3-frame differential method and running average single gaussian background model. Using this background model, we can successfully detect moving objects while minimizing false moving objects caused by noise. In the tracking phase, we propose a matching criteria where the weight of position and inner brightness distribution can be controlled by the size of objects. Also, we adopt a Kalman Filter to overcome the occlusion of tracked objects. By experiments, we can successfully detect and track objects in real time environment.

  • This paper studies computer programming for the analysis of data obtained by experiments using Orthogonal Arrays. The following items are considered in the computer programming : * significant digits in the computation of Sum of Squares, Mean Squares and Variance Ratios * containing the necessary F-distribution values in the program. * matching the rules of KS A 0021 and 3251 in the digit treatments etc. The running results of ANOVA Table and Pooled ANOVA Table of a fictitious example is added with the parts of a program. It should be mentioned that the main purpose of this paper is in the arousing of the discussion about significant digits concept in the computer programming for various kinds of Statistical Methods.

  • Theoretical calculations are presented for analying lateral modes of stripe geometry lasers. The solution technique affords a matching between the fields of the active layer and those of the surrounding passive layer. The fields are written as a liner combination of Hermite-Gaussian function. Therefore fields have been described with a single H - G function. The lowest-order mode spreading is calculated and related to the gain distribution.

  • The RF inductive discharge or inductively coupled plasma (ICP) continues to attract growing attention as an effective plasma source in many industrial applications, the best known of which are plasma processing and lighting technicology. Although most practical ICP operate at 13.56 [MHz]and 2.65 [MHz], the trend to reduce the operating frequency is clearly recognizable from recent ICP developments. In an electrodeless fluorescent lamp, the use of a lower operating frequency simplifies and reduces cost of rf matching systems and rf generators and can eliminate capacitive coupling between the inductor coil and plasma, which could be a strong factor in wall erosion and plasma contamination. In this study, the configuration of ferrite and fixture which operates at the frequency of 2.65[MHz]was discussed as functions of the ferrite thickness and distance by using the electromagnetic simulation software (Maxwell 2D).

  • Pre-existing pattern recognition techniques, in the case of character recognition, have limited on the application field. But CAI character learning system and writer's recognition system are very important parts. The application field of pre-existing system can be expanded in the content that the learning of characters and the recognition of writers in the proposed paper. In order to achieve these goals, the development contents are the following: Firstly, pre-processing method by understanding the image structure is proposed, secondly, recognition of characters are accomplished b the histogram distribution characteristics. Finally, similarity measure functions are defined from standard character pattern for matching of the input character pattern. Also the effectiveness of this system is demonstrated by experimenting the standard primitive image.

Extraction of Sizes and Velocities of Spray Droplets by Optical Imaging Method

  • In this study, an optical imaging method was developed for the measurements of the sizes and velocities of droplets in sprays. Double-exposure single-frame spray images were captured by the imaging system. An image processing program was developed for the measurements of the sizes and positions of individual particles including separation of the overlapped particles and particle tracking and pairing at two time instants. To recognize and separate overlapping particles, the morphological method based on watershed segmentation as well as separation using the perimeter and convex hull of image was used consecutively. Better results in separation were obtained by utilization of both methods especially for the multiple or heavily-overlapped particles. The match probability method was adopted for particle tracking and pairing after identifying the positions of individual particles and it produced good matching results even for large particles like droplets in sprays. Therefore, the developed optical imaging method could provide a reliable way of analyzing the motion and size distribution of droplets produced by various sprays and atomization devices.

  • this paper proposes a new approach for calculating the reliability indices of generation system, such as interruption frequency and duration, by using the moment matching technique Two separate expressions are derived, one for the loss of load expectation(LOLE) and the other for the loss of load frequency (LOLF). These expressions are combination of exponentials and are therefore easily integrable and can be readily evaluated. In this paper, the parameters of the distribution functions of the LOLE and LOLF are evaluated by using Genetic Algorithm and Complex Method, and the proposed approach is quite comparable with the other methods at the aspect of accuracy and efficiency.

  • 칼라 히스토그램 인터섹션 방법은 칼라 분포간의 유사도를 측정하는데 널리 사용된다 하지만 이 방법은 칼라 공간을 고정된 칼라수로 양자화시킨 경우에만 유효하므로 칼라 공간에 대한 분할 문제와 양자화 레벨의 결정 문제를 내포하고 있다. 이에, 본 논문에서는 고정 양자화된 칼라 분포뿐만 아니라 적응적 양자화되어 상이한 칼라분포를 갖는 영상간의 정합에 적용 가능한 확장 칼라 히스토그램 인터섹션 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 생산자가 생산된 상품을 소비자에게 공급하는 동안 생산효율을 계산하여 경제적 이익을 최대화 시키기 위한 생산자-소비자 모델로 간주되어질 수 있다 실험을 통해 우리는 제안된 방법이 두 칼라 분포간의 유사도를 효과적으로 측정할 수 있음을 확인하였다

  • This paper construct the sensibility database by extracting sensibility of 28 colors based on 12 color wheel. And, after the large color values are grouped by clustering of input image using k-mean algorithm, sensibility was extracted by matching with color and database. Also, we see the color sensible psychology of child using color distribution of children in painting.

  • We propose a more stable robust recognition algorithm which detects faces reliably even in cases where there are changes in lighting and angle of view, as well it satisfies efficiency in calculation and detection performance. We propose detects the face area alone after normalization through pre-processing and obtains a feature vector using (PCA). The feature vector is applied to LDA and using Euclidean distance of intra-class variance and inter class variance in the 2nd dimension, the final analysis and matching is performed. Experimental results show that the proposed method has a wider distribution when the input image is rotated $45^{\circ}$ left / right. We can improve the recognition rate by applying this feature value to a single algorithm and complex algorithm, and it is possible to recognize in real time because it does not require much calculation amount due to dimensional reduction.
