피뢰기의 ZnO 소자 성능평가 분석 (Performance Evaluation and Analysis of ZnO Element for Distribution Line Arresters)

  • Metal oxide surge arrester were developed in the late 1970s, and were immediately adopted as significant breakthrough in over voltage protection of power system. Work was continued throughout the world on the design, development and application of metal oxide surge arrester. This paper describes the evaluating test and results of practical use for analyzing the performance of gapless metal oxide surge arresters under various type test. In the result, ZnO element exhibited badness rate of 6.95 percent.

  • The primary role of ZnO arresters is to protect transmission and distribution equipments against lightning surges. The extremely nonlinear V-I characteristics of the ZnO arrester obviates the need for isolation gaps and consequently it is continuously connected to line voltage. For this reason, ZnO arresters are degraded with time in actual power systems. In this work, the characteristics of the luminous events caused between the ZnO block and electrodes according to the electrode area were investigated. As a result, the luminous events were effected by electrode area and the longer electrode areas were increased, the more luminous events were decreased. Also the reduction of luminous events was fumed up to the degraded ZnO arrester block.

  • 최근까지 낙뢰에 의한 과전압으로 인해 배전설비뿐만 아니라 수용가 설비의 피해가 적지 않게 발생하고 있다. 특히 낙뢰는 호우를 동반하는 경우가 대부분이기 때문에 수용가에 미치는 피해의 파급효과는 아주 크게 나타나고 있다. 따라서 배전급 내뢰설비의 시설효과를 실제 배전계통상에서 실증적 방법으로 분석하여 최적의 운영방안을 도출함으로써 효과적인 내뢰대책을 제시할 필요성이 크다. 본 논문에서는 수용가와 직결된 주상변압기 2차측 저압선로의 내뢰설비인 저압피뢰기(Secondary Arresters, SA)의 설치효과를 특고압측 및 저압측에서의 임펄스 전압 발생을 모두 고려하여 실증시험을 수행하고, 그 시험결과를 통해 배전급 저압피뢰기의 설치효과를 분석하였다.

  • The effects of surge arresters for protection of transmission systems against direct lightning strokes have already been investigated using the digital simulation program EMTP. Distribution lines are spanned on a much large area as compared to transmission lines, and therefore, are more often susceptible to lightning strokes. This paper analyzes the overvoltages on underground cable system against direct lightning strokes to the overhead ground wire using the digital simulation. The effects of lightning protection methods, such as lowering the grounding resistance and installing the surge arrester, for preventing overvoltages on underground cable system caused by direct lightning strokes to the overhead ground wire is investigated. Several schemes have been proposed to protect underground cables. This paper summarizes the main results of a study aimed at analysis of lightning overvoltages in variety underground feeders protected by metal-oxide arresters. This study will provide insulation coordination methods for reasonable system design in 22.9kV underground cable system.

  • Distribution lines are spanned on a much large area as compared to transmission lines, and therefore, are more often susceptible to lightning strokes. The selection of the proper value of basic insulation level(BIL), for particular insolation components of distribution structures in specific, is very important. Lightning strikes has current risetimes ranging from 0.1 to several $\mu s$ and can produce transient overvoltages substantially greater than the BIL of many distribution systems in spite of lightning arresters. This paper describes lightning overvoltage of a 22.9kV distribution system due to lightning strike. This study will provide the information on insulation coordination studies to adopt BIL.

  • 국내 배전선로에서는 1999년부터 폴리머피뢰기를 설치하여 운영하고 있으나, 이들의 열화특성에 관한 데이터와 적합한 평가방법이 부족하여 장기적인 운영계획 수립이 어려운 상태이다. 이에 따라 본 논문에서는 폴리머피뢰기의 현장 열화인자를 인가할 수 있는 복합가속열화 시험장치를 제작하고 국내 환경조건을 모의할 수 있는 시험주기를 개발하여 폴리머피뢰기 완제품에 대한 장기신뢰성 평가법을 제안하였다. 그리고 가속열화시험 및 현장설치에 의한 전기적, 화학적 특성변화를 분석하여 폴리머피뢰기의 열화정도를 평가함으로써 본 연구에서 제안한 평가기법의 실효성을 검증하고 국산 폴리머피뢰기의 유지보수에 필요한 특성 데이터를 제시하였다.

  • The overvoltage generated by the lightning strokes has been doing considerable damage to the distribution network as well as the consumer facility until now. Because most of the lightning strokes are accompanied by a storm, the aftermath of damage to the consumer is so serious. Therefore it is very important to survey the optimal operation plan by the field test of distribution lightning facilities. In this paper we have accomplished the field test to verify the impulse characteristic of Secondary Arrester(SA), and analyzed the effect of the SA in power distribution system.

애자/피뢰기 모니터링을 위한 유비쿼터스 센서 개발 (Development of a Ubiquitous Sensor for Monitoring Insulators and Lightning Arresters)

  • In this study, a ubiquitous sensor for condition monitoring of insulators and lightning arresters installed in power distribution lines and electric traction vehicles is presented. The sensor consists of two parts; a leakage current measurement and a lightning surge detection. Measured data are transmitted to a supervisory computer through ZigBee protocol based on IEEE 802.15.4. To detect leakage current, a window type Mn-ZCT is used and a low-noise amplifier with a gain of 60dB is designed, and this can measure leakage current in ranges of $100{\mu}A{\sim}5mA$. A sample-hold (S/H) and a Rogowski coil are injected to analyze the magnitude of surge current in ranges from 100A to 10kA with $8/20{\mu}s$-waveform.

  • Lightning has been identified as one of the leading causes of outages on transmission and distribution systems. To protect the transmission and distribution line from lightning, the transmission lightning arrestor can be the effective facility on the power system. This paper will discuss Gapped type Arresters application results by analysing effects of lightning arrestors on transmission and distribution line.

  • In multi-ground distribution system, overhead ground wire and neutral wire are parallel connected to offer the electrical power energy and protect damage of lightning strokes. Therefore a case where the two wires become single wire, the power company can get the benefit such as installation cost saving and line fault protection by simplify of distribution line. In this paper we describe the result of impulse test in both system ; one is the present power system the other is unified power system parallel connected overhead ground wire and neutral wire. As a result of this impulse test, the present power system get lower impulse voltage than the unified power system.
