An extension of state transition graph for distributed environment (분산된 환경에서의 상태 전이 그래프의 확장)

  • In a typical web environment, it is difficult to determine the update and re-computation status of WebView content or the transition of WebView processing included in web page. If an update to one of data is performed before a read operation to that, we could get a wrong result due to the incorrect operation and increase a complexity of the problem to process. To solve this problem, lots of researchers have studied and most of these problems at the single user environment is not problems. However, the problems at a distributed environment might be occurred. For this reason, in this paper, we proposed the extended state transition graph and algorithms for each status of WebView for explaining WebView state in the distributed environment and analyze the performance of using the materialized WebView and not. Additionally, also analyze the timing issues in network and effectiveness which follows in size of WebView contents.

Spatial Clearinghouse Components for OpenGIS Data Providers

  • Recently, the necessity of accessing spatial data from remote computer via network has been increased as distributed spatial data have been increased due to their size and cost. Many methods have been used in recent years for transferring spatial data, such as socket, CORBA, HTTP, RPC, FTP, etc. In this paper, we propose spatial clearinghouse components to access distributed spatial data sources via CORBA and Internet. The spatial clearinghouse components are defined as OLE/COM components that enable users to access spatial data that meet their requests from remote computer. For reusability, we design the spatial clearinghouse with UML and implement it as a set of components. In order to enhance interoperability among different platforms in distributed computing environment, we adopt international standards and open architecture such as CORBA, HTTB, and OpenGIS Simple Features Specifications. There are two kinds of spatial clearinghouse: CORBA-based spatial clearinghouse and Internet-based spatial clearinghouse. The CORBA-based spatial clearinghouse supports COM-CORBA bridge to access spatial data from remote data providers that satisfy the OpenGIS Simple Features Specification for OLE/COM using COM and CORBA interfaces. The Internet-based spatial clearinghouse provides Web-service components to access spatial data from remote data providers using Web-browser.

  • This paper presents a distributed mobile architecture aimed to support the mobility of mobile station. The proposed architecture considers three significant objects;mobile station (MS), mobile agent (MA) which logically represents mobile station in the wireline network, and trace agent (TA) to represent application server (AS) providing application service to mobile station. The mobile agent is made closely coupled with the mobile station while the trace agent is made closely coupled with the application server. During the handoff process, a flow control mechanism is considered to correct packet loss and out-of-sequence packets problem. The result of analytic additional time delay due to handoff processing is presented and simulation was performed to check the additional time delay as well as the correctness of handoff algorithm.

  • Web system helps high-performance processing for big-data analysis and practical use to make various information using IT resources. The government have started the RPS system in 2012. The system invigorates the electricity production as using renewable energy equipment. The government operates system gathered big-data with various related information system data and the system users are distributed geographically. The companies have to fulfill the system, are available to purchase the REC to other electricity generation company sellers to procure REC for their duty volumes. The REC market operates single auction methods with users a competitive price. But the price have the large variation with various user trading strategy and sellers situations. This papler proposed RPS system modeling and simulation in web environment that is modeled in geographically distributed computing environment for web user with DEVS W/S. Web simulation system base on web service helps to analysis correlation and variables that act on trading price and volume within RPS big-data and the analysis can be forecast REC price.

An Implementation of the DEVS Formalism on a Parallel Distributed Environment (병렬 분산 환경에서의 DEVS 형식론의 구현)

  • The DEVS(discrete event system specificaition) formalism specifies a discrete event system in a hierarchical, modular form. DEVSIM++ is a C++based general purpose DEVS abstract simulator which can simulate systems modeled by the DEVS formalism in a sequential environment. This paper describes P-DEVSIM++which is a parallel version of DEVSIM++ . In P-DEVSIM++, the external and internal event of DEVS models can by processed in parallel. For such processing, we propose a parallel, distributed optimistic simulation algorithm based on the Time Warp approach. However, the proposed algorithm localizes the rollback of a model within itself, not possible in the standard Time Warp approach. An advantage of such localization is that the simulation time may be reduced. To evaluate its performance, we simulate a single bus multiprocessor architecture system with an external common memory. Simulation result shows that significant speedup is made possible with our algorithm in a parallel environment.

  • A delegation of privileges is one of important processes that empower authority to relevant node to process job that user wants in large-stale distributed environment such as Grid Computing. However, existing delegation methods do not give suitable privilege about Job, and do not atomize range of delegation and exists delegation of access privilege for only resources itself that is not delegation about executing process of job itself. Also, they do not apply about process that needs delegation before and after. execution of job such as reservation of system resources or host access before and after execution. Therefore, this paper proposes a method and specification for restricted delegation in distributed environment. Proposed method separates delegation for job side and privilege side, and express specification and procedure of delegation using XML schema and UML and present restricted delegation scenario in distributed computing environment.

  • This paper explains late comer and error recovery process for home network environment with session management. This system consists of an ED, ES, and ER. ED is an agent that detects an error by hooking techniques for multimedia distance education based on home network environment with session management. ES is an agent that is an error sharing system for multimedia distance education based on home network environment with session management. ER is a system that is suitable for recovering software error for multimedia distance education based on home network environment with session management. This paper explains a performance analysis of an error recovery system running on distributed multimedia environment using the rule-based DEVS modeling and simulation techniques. The proposed method is more efficient than the other method in comparison with error ration and processing time.

Strategy for Task Offloading of Multi-user and Multi-server Based on Cost Optimization in Mobile Edge Computing Environment

  • With the development of mobile edge computing, how to utilize the computing power of edge computing to effectively and efficiently offload data and to compute offloading is of great research value. This paper studies the computation offloading problem of multi-user and multi-server in mobile edge computing. Firstly, in order to minimize system energy consumption, the problem is modeled by considering the joint optimization of the offloading strategy and the wireless and computing resource allocation in a multi-user and multi-server scenario. Additionally, this paper explores the computation offloading scheme to optimize the overall cost. As the centralized optimization method is an NP problem, the game method is used to achieve effective computation offloading in a distributed manner. The decision problem of distributed computation offloading between the mobile equipment is modeled as a multi-user computation offloading game. There is a Nash equilibrium in this game, and it can be achieved by a limited number of iterations. Then, we propose a distributed computation offloading algorithm, which first calculates offloading weights, and then distributedly iterates by the time slot to update the computation offloading decision. Finally, the algorithm is verified by simulation experiments. Simulation results show that our proposed algorithm can achieve the balance by a limited number of iterations. At the same time, the algorithm outperforms several other advanced computation offloading algorithms in terms of the number of users and overall overheads for beneficial decision-making.

Concurrent Processing Algorithm on Event Messages of Virtual Environment Using Round-Robin Scheduling (라운드 로빈 스케쥴링을 이용한 가상환경 이벤트의 병행 처리 알고리즘)

  • In distributed virtual environment, system response time to users' interactions is an importance factor to determine the degree of contentment with the system. Generally, response time is affected by the efficiency of event message processing algorithm, and most of previous systems use FCFS algorithm, which processes message traffic sequentially based only on the event occurrence time. Since this method totally depends on the order of occurrence without considering the priorities of events, it has a problem that might drop the degree of system response time by causing to delay processing message traffic when a bottleneck phenomenon happens in the server side. To overcome this limitation of FCFS algorithm, this paper proposes a concurrent event scheduling algorithm, which is able to process event messages concurrently by assigning the priorities to the events. It is also able to satisfy the two goals of system together, consistency and responsiveness through the combination of occurrence time with priority concept of events.

  • Many researchers have modeled complicated problems with distributed AI technologies in distributed environment. Especially, intelligent agent technology we often proposed among researchers as efficient method to solve the complicated problems because agent technology makes possibile to share different problem solving abilities among processors in distributed processing environment. In this paper, we propose multiagent system model to solve distributed scheduling problem. At this point we apple CSP techniques to the multiagent model as individual problem solving ability of member agents. Scheduling problem is divided into subproblems according to constraints by distributed resources, then each agent solves its subproblem using CSP solver in the proposed model. This method improves scheduling efficiency. For meeting scheduling problem of case study, we show CSP modeling process and suggest problem solving procedure by multiagent system model.
