This paper presents the operation of Fuel Cell Distributed Generation(FCDG) systems in distribution systems. Hence, modeling, controller design, and simulation study of a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell(SOFC) distributed generation(DG) system are investigated. The physical model of the fuel cell stack and dynamic models of power conditioning units are described. Then, suitable control architecture based on fuzzy logic and the neural network for the overall system is presented in order to activate power control and power quality improvement. A MATLAB/Simulink simulation model is developed for the SOFC DG system by combining the individual component models and the controllers designed for the power conditioning units. Simulation results are given to show the overall system performance including active power control and voltage regulation capability of the distribution system.

For conventional AESA radars, DC-DC power modules using 300 Vdc have low efficiency, high volume, heavy weight, and high price, which have problems in modularity with T/R module groups. In this paper, to improve these problems, we propose a distributed DC-DC power module with high-voltage 800 Vdc and high-efficiency Step-down Converter. In particular, power requirements for modern and future marine weapons systems and sensors are rapidly evolving into high-energy and high-voltage power systems. The power distribution of the next generation Navy AESA radar antenna is under development with 1000 Vdc. In this paper, the proposed highvoltage, high-efficiency DC-DC power modules increase space(size), weight, power and cooling(SWaP-C) margins, reduce integration costs/risk, and reduce maintenance costs. Reduced system weight and higher reliability are achieved in navy and ground AESA systems. In addition, the proposed architecture will be easier to scale with larger shipboard radars and applicable to other platforms.

The control architectures of Chuan Suo (CS) deep submergence rescue vehicle are introduced. The hardware and software architectures are also discussed. The hardware part adopts a distributed control system composed of surface and underwater nodes. A computer is used as a surface control machine. Underwater equipment is based on a multi-board-embedded industrial computer with PC104 BUS, which contains IO, A/D, D/A, eight-channel serial, and power boards. The hardware and software parts complete data transmission through optical fibers. The software part involves an IPC of embedded Vxworks real-time operating system, upon which the operation of I/O, A/D, and D/A boards and serial ports is based on; this setup improves the real-time manipulation. The information flow is controlled by the software part, and the thrust distribution is introduced. A submergence vehicle heeling control method based on ballast water tank regulation is introduced to meet the special heeling requirements of the submergence rescue vehicle during docking. Finally, the feasibility and reliability of the entire system are verified by a pool test.

Recently, the smart grid (SG) has been introduced to solve the serious network issues caused by the increasing electrical demand and the complex nonlinear nature of the electric power distribution network. The SG, regarded as the next generation power grid, can transmit power in more efficient ways by building an automatic and distributed energy delivery network. In this paper, we first assess how various existing networking technologies, such as IEEE 802.11 (WiFi) and IEEE 802.15.4 (ZigBee), meet the requirements of the SG communication protocols. Specifically, we classify the existing network protocols into three categories: WSN-based networking, WiFi-based networking, and wireline-based networking. We then survey the security issues regarding the SG. Finally, we propose an agile SG networking architecture and show the effectiveness of different adopted networking technologies and, as a result, present a candidate solution to implement agile networking in SGs.
As the power grids are integrated into one big umbrella called a "smart grid," communication protocol plays a key role in successful operations. The successful deployment of smart grid interoperability is a major hurdle that must be overcome. The micro grid, a small power system that distributes energy resource, is operated in diverse regions. Different vendors use different communication protocols in the operation of the micro grid. Recently, the IEC 61850 has been legislated to solve the interoperability problems in power utility automation. The present paper presents a micro grid system based on the IEC 61850 protocol. It consists of a micro grid monitoring system, a protocol converter that transforms serial data to IEC 61850 data, and distributed energy resource controllers for diverse DER nodes. A developed communication gateway can be deployed for DER controllers with serial links to exchange data with IEC 61850-based devices. The gateway can be extended to IEC 61850-based distribution automation systems, substation automation systems, or SCADA.

Smart grid is a fully-automated, bi-directional, power transmission network based on the physical grid system, which combines sensor measurement, computer, information communication, and automatic control technology. Blockchain technology, with its security features, can be integrated with Smart Grids to provide secure and efficient power management and transmission. This paper dicusses the deployment of Blockchain technology in Smart Grid. It presents application areas and protocols in which blockchain can be applied to in securing smart grid. One application of each area is explored in detail, such as efficient peer-to-peer transaction, lower platform costs, faster processes, greater flexibility in power generation to transmission, distribution and power consumption in different energy storage systems, current barriers obstructing the implementation of blockchain applications with some level of maturity in financial services but concepts only in energy and other sectors. Wide range of energy applications suggesting a suitable blockchain architecture in smart grid operations, a sample block structure and the potential blockchain technicalities employed in it. Also, added with efficient data aggregation schemes based on the blockchain technology to overcome the challenges related to privacy and security in the smart grid. Later on, consensus algorithms and protocols are discussed. Monitoring of the usage and statistics of energy distribution systems that can also be used to remotely control energy flow to a particular area. Further, the discussion on the blockchain-based frameworks that helps in the diagnosis and maintenance of smart grid equipment. We have also discussed several commercial implementations of blockchain in the smart grid. Finally, various challenges have been discussed for integrating these technologies. Overall, it can be said at the present point in time that blockchain technology certainly shows a lot of potentials from a customer perspective too and should be further developed by market participants. The approaches seen thus far may have a disruptive effect in the future and might require additional regulatory intervention in an already tightly regulated energy market. If blockchains are to deliver benefits for consumers (whether as consumers or prosumers of energy), a strong focus on consumer issues will be needed.

Due to abnormal high temperature, electric power demand has exceeded the backup power reserved for emergency case, hence, resulting in a major power outage. In today's overcrowded cities, the unexpected disruption in energy supply and demand is a major threat to the enormous economic damage and urban malfunctions. Existing methods for estimating the demand of the emergency power source do not lend themselves to predict the actual demand in the spatial dimension of the city. In addition, the reserve power is arbitrarily distributed in the case of emergency. This paper presents a method that predicts the emergency power demand using the spatial distribution of emergency power demand by applying the daily energy consumption intensity and emergency power demand according to urban spatial information and building use.

Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems (SCADAs) is real-time monitor and control systems. SCADA systems are used to monitor or control chemical and transportation processes, in municipal water supply systems, electric power generation, transmission and distribution, gas and oil pipelines, and other distributed processes. SCADA refers to a large-scale distributed system. The supervisory control system is placed on top of a real time control system to control external processes. Emerging security technologies and security devices are decreasing the vulnerability of the power system against cyber threats. Dealing with these threats and analyzing vulnerabilities is an important task for equipment such as RTU, IED and FEP. To reduce such risks, we develop such a SCADA testbed. This paper presents the development of a testbed designed to assess the vulnerabilities SCADA networks(including serial communication).
The value of Photovoltaic as an independent power supply is small, but the city's carbon emissions reduction and for the reduction of fossil fuel use distributed power is the power source to a very high value. However, according to the weather conditions for solar power generation by power fluctuations because of the size distribution to be effective, the big swing for effectively controlling real-time monitoring should be made. But that depends on solar power generation solar radiation forecasts from the National Weather Service does not need to predict it, and this study, the diffuse sky radiation in the history of the solar radiation in the darkness of the clouds, thick and weather forecasts can be inferred from the atmospheric transmittance to announce this value is calculated to represent each weather forecast solar radiation and solar radiation predicted by substituting the expression And the measured solar radiation and CRM (Cloud Cover Radiation Model) technique with an expression of Kasten and Czeplak irradiation when compared to the calculated predictions were verified.

In this study, the effects of the wave field changes due to the coastal structure on the hydrodynamic performance of the OWC wave energy, converter are analyzed using a three-dimensional numerical wave tank technique (NWT). The OWC device is simulated numerically by introducing a linear pressure drop model, considering the coupling effect between the turbine and the OWC chamber in the time domain. The flow distribution around the chamber is different due to the change of reflection characteristics depending on the consideration of the breakwater model. The wave energy captured from the breakwater is spatially distributed on the plane of the front of the breakwater, and the converted pneumatic power increased when concentrated in front of the chamber. The change of the standing wave distribution is repeated according to the relationship between the incident wavelength and the length of the breakwater, and the difference in energy conversion performance of the OWC was confirmed.
