  • These fields are integrated to visualize and finalize the proposed development, in simulation environment. SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) systems and distributed control systems (DCSs) are widely deployed in all over the world, which are designed to control the industrial infrastructures, in real ways. To supervise and control the various parts of designed systems; trends to require a deep knowledge to understand the overall functional needs of industries, which could be a big challenge. Industrial field devices (or network sensors) are usually distributed in many locations and are controlled from centralized site (or main control center); the communication provides various signs of security issues. To handle these issues, the research contribution will twofold: a method using cryptography is deployed in critical systems for security purposes and overall transmission is controlled from main controller site. At controller site, multimedia components are employed to control the overall transmission graphically, such as system communication, bytes flows, security embedded parameters and others, by the means of multimedia technology.

  • An issue of globalized and competitive business environment is a transformation of manufacturing strategy for rapidly product development. To copy with these trends, building up a market from various product is becoming conspicuous the core strategy of manufacture. Therefore, it is increasing of necessity for the environment of collaborative product development. As a part of corresponding for these demands, we propose the method that allows easy and rapid integration of legacy resources within the company and between departments. The proposed framework can easily construct a distributed environment for collaborative design between departments in the companies. It was implemented using CO/sup TM/ based on DOME (Distributed Object-based Modeling Environment) that is knowledge based engineering solution.

Resolution Analysis of Axially Distributed Image Sensing Systems under Equally Constrained Resources

  • In this paper, a unifying framework to evaluate the depth resolution of axially distributed image sensing (ADS) systems under fixed resource constraints is proposed. The proposed framework enables one to evaluate the system performance as a function of system parameters such as the number of cameras, the number of pixels, pixel size, and so on. The Monte Carlo simulations are carried out to evaluate ADS system performance as a function of system parameters. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on quantitative analysis of ADS systems under fixed resource constraints.

광우병 관련 지식수준과 미국산 쇠고기에 대한 인식 및 태도 - 서울.수도권 대학생을 대상으로 - (The BSE-related knowledge levels, perceptions and attitudes toward American beef - On the university students in a metropolitan area -)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of knowledge level on the perceptions and attitudes toward BSE(Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy) and American beef. A survey was conducted with university students in a metropolitan area. Out of 590 questionnaires distributed, 481 were analyzed(81.5% response rate). The data was analyzed using SPSS windows(ver. 14.0). In evaluation of the BSE-related knowledge level, the average correct answer rate was 42.6%(the lowest 21.0% ~ the highest 64.9%). There were significant differences in perception and attitude based on the BSE-related knowledge level. In three groups of knowledge levels(top, middle, bottom), the bottom level group tended to be more concerned regarding the origin of beef than the top and middle level groups. Moreover, as the level of knowledge increased, people tended to consider American beef safe. In their attitude toward the government's move to re-import American beef, the top level group tended to think positively. On the other hand, the top level group had negative attitudes toward the media coverage of American beef. As the level of knowledge decreased, the rate of menu selectivity was higher. This research suggests that people need to be educated in BSE-related knowledge. Through the education of BSE-related knowledge, people will gain a more correct understanding and attitude towards American beef, which will help livestock and food service industries grow.

초등학생의 영양 상담에 따른 인식, 흥미도 및 영양 지식 -경북 지역 중심- (Nutrition Counseling Practice, Perception, and Nutrition Knowledge of Nutrition Counseling Participants and Non-Participants -Elementary Students in Gyeongbuk Province-)

  • For the purpose of carrying out nutrition counseling effectively and efficiently, this study assessed the nutrition counseling practice, perception and nutrition knowledge of elementary school children in Gyeongbuk province. Survey questionnaires were distributed between November 2009 and December 2009 to 100 nutrition counseling experienced children (participants) and 110 nutrition counseling non-experienced children (non-participants) and were completed with nutrition teachers' assistance. According to the survey results, girls and overweight/obese children showed higher tendency of participation in nutrition counseling (p<0.001). Participants who took nutrition counseling according to their own intentions showed satisfaction after counseling on diverse subjects such as obesity, unbalanced diet, and weight control. Particularly, 'lack of counseling session time', 'unfavorable counseling condition' or 'difficult explanation' caused participants unsatisfaction after counseling. Participants usually perceived the meaning of nutrition counseling more correctly than non-participants and showed positive intentions for taking further counseling in the future(p<0.001). Diet good for weight control, good food to fix unbalanced diet and diet good for growing stature were the top three subjects of nutrition counseling chosen by subjects (p<0.001). Participants also showed higher nutrition knowledge scores than non-participants. Therefore, it is critically important to apply nutrition counseling in the proper environment (counseling room, time, teaching materials, etc) to elementary school students to fix healthy food habits. Therefore, nutrition teachers need to be provide professional nutrition counseling skills and knowledge.

그리드 기반의 고성능 과학기술지식처리 프레임워크 개발 (Development of a Grid-based Framework for High-Performance Scientific Knowledge Discovery)

  • 본 논문은 그리드 컴퓨팅을 이용한 고성능 과학기술지식처리 프레임워크인 SINDI-Grid의 개발에 관련된 연구이다. SINDI-Grid 프레임워크는 대용량의 데이터 저장소 및 고속의 컴퓨팅 파워를 제공하는 그리드 컴퓨팅의 장점을 이용하여 분산 데이터 분석과 과학기술지식처리를 위한 다양한 그리드 서비스들을 제공한다. 그리고 SINDI-Workflow 도구는 이러한 서비스들을 이용하여 다양한 지식처리 알고리즘을 통합하는 복잡한 과학기술지식처리 애플리케이션을 설계하고 실행하는 역할을 수행한다.

학교와 병원 영양사 인적특성의 비교: 중요도와 빈도를 중심으로 (Comparison of Human Attributes for School and Hospital Dietitians : by Importance and Frequency Scale)

  • Job analysis was done by the method of interview and survey to find out the human attributes needed for dietitans' job performance. The knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics including personality were major items in the questionnaire. The questionnaire was distributed to 340 schools and hospital dietitians. Among these, 201 were compeletely filled out, returned and statistically analyzed according to the frequency scale and importance scale respectively. The results were as follows : 1) The age, education, job experience and monthly pay of hospital dietitians were higher than those of school dietitians. This was partly due to the reflection of short chronicle of school foodservice. 2) The most important human attributes for rwo groups were commonly shown as sincere and faithful personality, good human relationship and responsibility for business outcome. 3) Computer skill and menuplanning ability were human attributes of the most frequently used by school dietitians, whereas knowledge of diet therapy, clinical nutrition, and pathology of disease were frequently used by hospital dietitians. 4) The correlation coefficients between two groups were as follows : Spearman's rho value of personality, skills and abilities, and knowledge were 0.806, -0.432,-0.203 respectively, according to the importance scale. 5) An overall view from t test between two groups, various human attributes, especially knowledge were more frequently used by hospital dietitians.

의복 의사 결정 자신감의 결정변수 - 소비자 동조성, Vanity, 의복 지식 - (Determinants of Decision-Making Confidence of Clothing - Consumer Susceptibility to Interpersonal Influence, Vanity, and Clothing Product Knowledge -)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the determinants of decision-making confidence of clothing. As determinants, this study examined consumer susceptibility to interpersonal influence, vanity, and clothing knowledge. Data were collected through surveying university students in Seoul metropolitan area using convenience sampling method. Out of 324 distributed, 300 useful questionnaires were returned. The results showed that identical conformity among consumer susceptibility to interpersonal influence factors significantly influences, both directly and indirectly, decision making confidence through vanity. Although normative conformity does not influence decision-making confidence directly, it does significantly influence decision-making confidence indirectly through influencing vanity and clothing knowledge. The results suggest clothing is a manifestation tool for managing public self, which finally leads to increased clothing knowledge and decision-making confidence of clothing. These findings may be used by marketers in developing strategies for product development and promotion.

인천지역 초등학생의 영양지식 및 식생활 행동에 관한 연구 (The Study on Nutritional Knowledge and Eating Behavior of Elementary School Senior Students in Incheon Area)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the nutritional knowledge and eating behavior of elementary school senior students in Incheon area and to develope education program appropriate for them. Questionnaire was developed and distributed to 551 fifth and sixth grade students of fourteen elementary schools in Incheon area. The data was analyzed using ANOVA. According to the results on nutritional knowledge and attitude, senior students were aware of major sources of some nutrients, but didn't seemed to know about the role of some nutrients. Nevertheless, it was favorable that they took various food from major food groups. But the proportion of students skipping breakfast and taking instant food was high. Their table etiquette was not good at home, but attitude for food hygiene was comparatively good. They recognized Korean traditional food more nutritious than fast food. Even though they understood what was right for eating behavior, they didn't practice it correctly. From these results, it seemed that follow-up study or intervention is necessary to improve nutritional knowledge and eating behavior of the students. Qualified teachers, nutrition specialists, are required in order to develop and apply systematic nutrition education program for correcting inappropriate eating behavior of the students. Furthermore, nutrition education for their parents will be more effective.

중환자실 간호사들의 침상모니터 심전도 관찰 관련 지식 및 간호행위 (Intensive Care Unit Nurses' Knowledge and Nursing Practices regarding Bedside Electrocardiograph Monitoring)

  • Purpose: Bedside electrocardiograph (ECG) monitoring is continuously used for assessing patients' cardiac status in intensive care units. However, it has not been explored whether it is used with proper knowledge and nursing practices; if not, its usage will be limited and the risk for compromised patient safety might be significant. This study, therefore, explored knowledge and nursing practices regarding bedside ECG monitoring in nurses working at intensive care units. Methods: Participants in this survey research were a convenience sample of 156 nurses from 25 intensive care units distributed in five hospitals with more than 1,000 beds each in Seoul, South Korea. Results: Participants showed limited and incorrect knowledge and nursing practices. Only 4 (2.6%) participants correctly answered to all electrode placement sites of RA, LA, LL, and V1. Lead II was the most frequently monitored unit regardless of the main purpose of ECG monitoring, and nursing practices to manage noisy signals did not include skin care at the top priorities. Conclusion: Educators and clinicians alike need to make an effort to ensure that a safe level of knowledge and practices for the monitoring is maintained in order to make sure that patient outcomes are not compromised.
