Statement of problem : Implant screw loosening remains a problem in implant prosthodontics. Some abutment screws with treated surfaces were introduced to prevent screw loosening and to increase preload. DLC(Diamond Like Carbon) film has similar properties on hardness, wear resistance, chemical stability, biocompatibility as real diamond materials. Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of lubricant layer on abutment screw and to discriminate more effective method between soft lubricant and hard lubricant to prevent screw loosening. Material and method : In this study, $1{\mu}m$ thickness DLC was used as protective, lubricating layer of titanium screws and 3 times removal torque was measured on the abutment screws to investigate the difference in 10 coated and 10 non-coated abutment screws. Results : The results indicated that the implants with DLC coating group were not more resistant to the applied force in screw loosening. At 32Ncm, the 3 times removal torque in DLC group were $27.75{\pm}2.89,\;25.85{\pm}2.35$ and $26.2{\pm}2.57$. The removal torque in no-coated abutment screws were $27.85{\pm}4.23,\;27.35{\pm}2.81$ and $27.9{\pm}2.31$, respectively. Conclusion : The lubricant layer used in this study was Diamond Like Carbon(DLC) and it have a properties of hard and stable layer. The DLC coating layer was hard enough to prevent distortion of screws in the repeated unscrewing procedure in clinical situation. The reduced friction coefficient in hard DLC layer was not effective to prevent screw loosening.
Resource productivity (GDP/DMC) is defined as GDP divided by DMC. However, it has shortcomings when estimating the value-added generated from material processing. In this paper, an energy coefficient is applied to GDP to develop a sub-indicator (referred to as GDPe/DMC). Consequently, South Korea, which is a secondary industry-oriented country, created 1,094.60 USD/ton from input materials and was ranked 4th on the OECD list, which is 10 levels higher than the level estimated by GDP/DMC. However, Luxembourg, which is a tertiary industry-oriented country, is ranked 16th on the OECD list, which is 12 levels lower than the level estimated by GDP/DMC. The resource productivity estimated by the sub-indicator (GDPe/DMC) developed in this study indicates that secondary industry-oriented countries are undervalued in the existing main GDP/DMC calculation. On the other hand, tertiary industry-oriented countries are downgraded due to the industrial features of the GDPe/DMC calculation. As a result of this paper, GDPe/DMC could be considered a more reasonable indicator to directly reflect the material input effect compared to the existing main indicator, GDP/DMC. This means that GDPe/DMC-induced resource productivities could be estimated to be slightly higher than the GDP/DMC-induced resource productivities for secondary industry-oriented countries. It is expected that the sub-indicator, GDPe/DMC, proposed in this study could be useful especially for comparing and analyzing the resource productivities between countries that have different industry structures. This study intended to consider a structurally energy/resource-intensive industry in estimating and analyzing national-level resource productivity. Thus, the sub-indicator, GDPe/DMC, may help minimize the distortion of interpreting national resource productivities in various situations, and be utilized as a more efficient tool when used together with GDP/DMC.
In urban areas, the impermeable area continues to increase due to urbanization, which interferes with the surface penetrating and infiltrating of rainwater, causing most rainwater runoff to the surface, deepening the distortion of water circulation. Distortion of water circulation affects not only flood disasters caused by rainfall and runoff, but also various aspects such as dry stream phenomenon, deterioration of water quality, and destruction of ecosystem balance, and the Ministry of Environment strongly recommends the use of Low Impact development (LID) techniques. In order to apply the LID technique, it is necessary to set a rainwater management target to handle the increase in outflow after the development of the target site, and the current standard sets the rainwater management target using the 10-year daily rainfall. In this study, the difference from the current standards was analyzed through statistical analysis and classification of independent rainfall ideas using inter-event time definition (IETD) in setting the target amount of rainwater management to improve water circulation. Using 30-year rainfall data from 1991 to 2020, methods such as autocorrelation coefficient (AC) analysis, variation coefficient (VC) analysis, and annual average number of rainfall event (NRE) analysis were applied, and IETD was selected according to the target rainfall period. The more samples the population had, the more IETD tended to increase. In addition, by analyzing the duration and time distribution of independent rainfall according to the IETD, a plan was proposed to calculate the standard design rainfall according to the rainwater management target amount. Therefore, it is expected that it will be possible to set an improved rainwater management target amount if sufficient samples of independent rainfall ideas are used through the selection of IETD as in this study.
This paper presents a method for improving the performance of ISF coefficients quantizer through compensating the defect of the split structure vector quantization using the ordering property of ISF coefficients. And design the ISF coefficients quantizer for wideband speech codec using proposed method. The wideband speech codec uses split structure vector quantizer which could not use the correlation between ISF coefficients fully to reduce complexity and the size of codebook. The proposed algorithm uses the ordering property of ISF coefficients to overcome the defect. Using the ordering property, the codebook redundancy could be figured out. The codebook redundancy is replaced by the adaptive-extended codebook to improve the performance of the quantizer through using the ordering property, ISF coefficient prediction and interpolation of existing codebook. As a result, the proposed algorithm shows that the adaptive-extended codebook algorithm could get about 2 bit gains in comparison with the existing split structure ISF quantizer of AMR-WB (G.722.2) in the points of spectral distortion.

A two-phase (gas-liquid) flow is a common phenomenon in fluidic systems, e.g., fluidic systems in the electro-magnetic or nuclear power generation industry and in the steel industry. The measurement of a two-phase flow is important for guaranteeing the safety of the system and for achieving the desired performance. The measurement of the void fraction, which is one of the parameters of the two-phase flow that determines the pressure drop and heat transfer coefficient, is very important. The time resolution achieved by employing the impedance method that can be used to calculate the void fraction from the impedance of the fluid is high because the electric characteristics are taken into account. Therefore, this method can be employed to accurately measure the void fraction without distortion of flow in real time by placing electrodes on the walls of the tubes. Coney analytically studied a ring-type impedance meter, which can be employed in a circular tube. The aim of this study is to experimentally verify the robustness of a three-ring impedance meter to variations in the electric conductivity of the fluid; this robustness was suggested by Coney but was not experimentally verified.
In this paper, an intra prediction offset compensation method is proposed to improve intra prediction in H.264/AVC. In H.264/AVC, intra prediction based on various directions improves the coding efficiency by removing spatial correlation between neighboring blocks. In details, neighboring pixels in reconstructed block can be used as intra reference block for the current block to be coded when intra prediction method is used. In order to reduce further the prediction error of the intra reference block, the proposed method introduces an intra prediction offset which is determined in the sense of the rate-distortion optimization and is added to the conventional intra prediction block. Besides the intra prediction offset compensation, the coefficient thresholding method which is used for inter coding in JM 11.0, is used for chroma component in intra block, which leads the improvement of the luma coding efficiency of the proposed method. In experiments, we show that the proposed method achieves average 2.45% in High Profile condition and maximum 4.41% of bitrate reduction relative to JM 11.0.

This paper describes an experimental study and finite element analysis (FEA) carried out for investigating thermal deformation behavior of solders, resulting from temperature change in the solder. With such a goal in mind, a shear specimen that was composed of two metal bars having different coefficient of thermal expansion and solder blocks placed between two bars was designed and fabricated. Two different types of solder blocks, eutectic solder (Sn/36Pb/ 2Ag) and lead-free solder (Sn/3.0Ag/0.5Cu) were tested as well. Fringe patterns for several temperature steps were recorded and analyzed for three temperature cycles using a real-time moir$\acute{e}$ setup. The experimental data was verified with FEA and used to evaluate the suitability for numerous solder constitutive models available in literatures. FEA employing Anand material model suggested by Darveaux et al. and Chang et al. were found to be in an excellent agreement with the experimental results for the eutectic solder and the lead-free solder, respectively. In addition, numerical predictions on bending displacement, shear strain and viscoplastic distortion energy are documented and viscoplastic deformation behavior of two types of solder material are compared.
This paper examines the effect of redistributive inheritance tax on income distribution and social welfare. The model used here is the Overlapping-Generations Model consisting of individuals with different bequest motives where the lifetime income distribution in each cohort is determined endogeneously by the dynamic bequest process. It is shown that the introduction of redistributive inheritance tax can improve the vertical equity in the sense that the increase in tax rate reduces the coefficient of variations of intra-cohort income distribution in steady-state. However, it is also shown that, the effect on social welfare, when measured by Benthamite SWF, is uncertain in general. The numerical simulations show that, in spite of its equity-enhancing effect, the tax increase can actually lower the steady-state social welfare within the plausible range of parametric values, through the long-run output effect as well as the deadweight welfare loss incurred by tax distortion. Hence, the problem of equity-efficiency trade-off can arise in this case. However, if both the market interest rate and the elasticity of marginal utility in individual's preference function are sufficiently high, it is shown to be possible that the steady-state social welfare is enhanced by the introduction of inheritance tax.

This paper relates with the performance improvement of SE-MMA (Signed Error-Multiple Modulus Algorithm) adaptive equalization algorithm that is used for the reduction of the intersymbol interference due to the distortion which occurs in the communication channel for the transmission of 16-QAM nonconstant modulus signal.. In the conventional MMA, the fixed modulus value that is second order statistics of transmitting signal were used, and the SE-MMA was introduced in order to the simplification of the algorithm's arithmetic operation. The SE-MMA have a fast convergence speed than MMA, but it has a problem of degradation of equalization performance in the steady state due to the arithmetic simplification. In this paper, we propose the new algorithm AV-SE-MMA (Adaptively Varying-SE-MMA) that uses the adaptive varying modulus in order to obtain the error signal for updating the adaptive equalizer coefficient, and its equalization performance were confirmed by simulation. In this paper, the performance of SE-MMA and proposed algorithm were compared, and the equalizer output signal constellation, residual isi, MSE and SER in order to confirm the robustness of noise were used as performace index. As a result of performance comparison, the AV-SE-MMA has better performance in output signal constellation, residual isi and MD compared to the SE-MMA, but it was confirmed that the AV-SE-MMA has similar in the SER performance that means the robustness to the noise.
A virus named Cymbidium mild mosaic virus(Cy MMV), was mechanically transmitted to Chenopodium amaranticolor from the leaves of Cymbidium with mild mosaic symptoms. The virus was cultured in C. amaranticolor, in which it produced local chlorotic and ring spots, followed by systemic vein clearing with distortion. CyMMV infected 7 out of 35 species of plants. In C. amaranticolor juice infectivity was lost by heating at $90^{\circ}C$ for 10 miuntes, and by aging at$20^{\circ}C$ for 60 days, and by diluting at $10^{-6}$ when bioassayed on C. amaranticolor. CyMMV was not transmitted by Myzus persicae. The virus was purified after clarification of homogenized C. amaranticolor leaf tissues with chloroform, by differential centrifugation followed by sucrose density gradient centrifugation. Electron microscopic examination of purified preparation showed spherical particles of 28nm in diameter. The UV absorption spectrum of purified preparation was typical of u nucleoprotein (max. at 261nm. min. at 243nm), and showed 260/280=1.72 and max/min=1.26. The value of the sedimentation coefficient of the virus was S20.w=126. In gel-diffusion tests, CyMMV antiserum reacted with CarMV, but not with any of four other viruses (BBWV, CRSV, CMV, TBRV) having similar particles and properties in vitro. In ultra-thin sections of CyMMV infected tissues, a large number of virus particles were found in the cytoplasm of mesophyll cells and in xylem vessels.
