  • We report a case of intracranial dissemination developing approximately 4 months after partial removal of a spinal cord anplastic astrocytoma in a 22-year-old male. He presented with paraplegia on initial admission at a local hospital. Spinal magnetic resonance (MR) images disclosed multiple intramedullary lesions at the T3-11. The tumor was partially removed. The final histologic diagnosis was anaplastic astrocytoma. Four months after the operation, he was admitted with the symptoms of headache and deterioration of consciousness. MR images showed enhanced lesions in the anterior horn of the left lateral ventricle, and septum pellucidum. He underwent computed tomography-guided stereotactic biopsy and histological appearance was consistent with anaplastic astrocytoma. The clinical course indicates that the tumor originated in the spinal cord and extended into the subarachnoid space, first the spinal canal and later intracranial.

  • This study deals with the problem of information dissemination in a communication network, which is defined to be the process whereby a set of messages, generated by an originator, is transmitted to all the members within the network. Since this type of message generally includes control data to manage the network or global information that all members should know, it is to be required to transmit it to all the members as soon as possible. In this study, it is assumed that a member can either transmit or receive a message and an informed member can transmit it to only one of its neighbors at time. This type of transmission is called 'local broadcasting' Several schemes of call sequencing are designed for a general-type network with nonuniform edge transmission times, and then computer simulations are performed. Some heuristics for information dissemination are proposed and tested. For this, optimal call sequence in a tree-type network, sequencing theory and graph theory are applied. The result shows that call sequencing based on the shortest path tree is the most desirable.

  • This study is aimed to identify the LHI policies in the research process that reflect the diversity of job positions and workplace using a statistical method such as IPA. To collect the sample data questionnaire survey was carried out in 400 staffs in LH including researchers to investigate dissemination of research results and improve factor regard with research. The dissemination of research results is positioned as a important key factor for the determination of research institute policy. From this reason, satisfaction survey was performed for defining the procedure of research system and the dissemination of research findings. The answers give stimulate participation for investigational activity and share some perceptions with research vision a dominant position. Futhermore, select the research theme which is a important association with pending issues at the planning phase is to reinforce the availability of research findings. Lastly, promote research findings intensively is cause availability of research results to increase also.

  • Event notification service is a event-based messaging middle ware service needed for various vertical domains, such as, business applications, distributed system management, and web service integration. In this paper, we investigate the architecture of an event notification service that includes a subject-based event dissemination service and a flexible message communication service. The event dissemination service is in charge of transferring events asynchronously but speedy according to the subjects of events and their environmental knowledge. It also includes content-based message filtering. The message communication service provides a common communication infrastructure supporting variety types of messages and variety of protocols. Depending on application domains and situation, we can re-configurate the communication infrastructure in order to optimize the efficiency and usability. This paper shows the performance analysis of our event notification service with various types of message formats and protocols.

  • This study deals with technology planning-based management for Basic R&D Programs of government supported research institutes (GRIs). The Korean Research Council for Industrial Science and Technology which consists of major GRIs needs to implement new government policies which focus on the dissemination of R&D outcome, collaborative research, and performance-oriented R&D investment. The major characteristics of technology planning-based management include the hierarchy of market-oriented technology plans and the valuation of core technologies. We also suggest technology classifications and project network diagrams.

  • The agriculture in Korea has been gradually changed from a labor-intensive type to a labor-saving one which aims to maximize productivity of labor. Herbicides have been utilized in rice farming since 1955. The consumption of herbicides rapidly increased during the last decade. However, the technology of weed control with herbicides has not been developed yet. For the dissemination of efficient weed control methods in farming, both research and extension activities on herbicide utilization should be strengthened. Appropriate research and guidance units on weed control should be established as early as possible, in order to provide the necessary technical information.

  • Unlike simple forward-viewing endoscopes such as gastroscope or colonoscope, duodenoscope houses much more complex design to fulfil its function. This design differences leave duodenoscopes more prone to contamination from inadequate disinfection process and potential dissemination of pathogens. Recent reports on dissemination of infection through the duodenoscope mandated an overhaul of duodenoscope utilization including development of a disposable duodenoscope. This article reviews the current state of disposable duodenoscope development, including reported early efficacy as well as its future direction and utilization.

  • The main purposes of this study were to segment Chinese consumers who purchase fashion products through internet commerce according to internet shopping values, to compare their online word-of-mouth acceptance and dissemination behavior, and to examine the demographic characteristics and purchase behavior of the segments. 715 questionnaires were collected through internet survey from January $19^{th}$ to March $16^{th}$, 2015 and a total of 488 were used for the final data analysis. The respondents were twenty to thirty nine years old men and women living in all over China. Hedonic and utilitarian shopping values were identified through factor analysis and based on the shopping values, the respondents were categorized into four groups-ambivalent shopping value group, hedonic shopping value group, utilitarian shopping value group and indifferent group. Among these groups, there were significant differences in terms of online word-of-mouth acceptance as well as dissemination level and motivation. In overall, ambivalent shopping value group showed high online word-of-mouth acceptance as well as dissemination motivation. The groups also showed significant differences in clothing selection criteria, frequently purchased internet shopping sites, online clothing shopping frequency and information sources. The groups also differed in terms of age, residential area, education level, occupation and income. However, there were no significant differences in gender and marital status among the groups.
