The rugate porous silicons containing multiple photonic band gaps have been generated by applying a composite waveform summed three computer-generated pseudo-sinusoidal current waveforms and exhibit three sharp photonic band gaps in the optical reflectivity spectrum. Generated multiple rugate porous silicons display three rugate peaks corresponding to the each of the sine components varied from 0.42, 0.36, and 0.30 Hz, with a spacing of 0.06 Hz between each sine component. The resulting rugate PSi films have been removed from the silicon substrate by applying an lift-off current and are then made into particles by ultrasono-method in a organic solution. The sensing experiments using these particles for organic solvents such as toluene, hexane, acetone, and methanol have been achieved. Condensing of organic vapors in the pores increases the refractive indices of entire particle which results a red shift in the photonic peaks.

We have analyzed the cause of black "mura" and measured it in prism light guide plate(LGP). Properties of components used in a backlight uint(BLU) have changed by simulation tool. We get major factor of black "mura" for improvement in prism LGP. For the improvement of black "mura", removal of brightness "mura" at input light part must precede preferentially because of reflection characteristic of the prism LGP. Removal of brightness "mura" is improved by hanging of input light part in LGP and dispersion treatment.

본 논문에서는 1W 급 이상의 고출력 LED 용 패키지로서 세라믹 LTCC 적층 패키지의 방열 특성을 평가하고 열해석 결과와의 차이에 대해 고찰하였다. 특히, 세라믹 패키지의 방열 특성을 향상시키기 위해 Thermal Via와 Heat slug를 LED Chip 하단부에 위치시켰을 때 방열 특성을 평가하기 위해 Transient Thermal Test를 이용하여 각각의 경우에 대한 열저항을 평가하여 방열 특성의 항상 정도를 확인하였으며, 열해석 시뮬레이션을 통해 얻은 결과와 비교하였다. 평가 결과 Heat slug를 배치한 패키지가 열저항이 $8^{\circ}C/W$로서 가장 우수한 특성을 보여주었으며, 열해석 결과와의 차이에 대해서는 광출력으로 방출된 전력을 계산하여 보정함으로써 $1^{\circ}C$ 이하의 편차를 보여주는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

An automatic design system for a hydraulic gate has been developed to cut down the time for the design calculation and to optimize its design. It is oriented to the radial gate which is the simplest, most reliable, least expensive and most widely used hydraulic gate. This system is composed of data input, strength computation and result display modules with databases of the properties of components and materials. In this development, the existing intricate design procedure has been changed to the straightforward procedure without assumption of weight. With this code, the design time of the radial gate could be reduced below one thirtieth in comparison with manual work and the optimum design could be accomplished easily.

Recently Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry(ESPI) has been studied because it has the advantages to be able to measure the whole-field surface deformations of engineering components and materials in industrial areas with noncontact. The speckle patterns to be formed with interference phenomena of scattering light from rough surfaces illuminated by laser light have phase informations of surface deformations. In this study we used this interference phenomena and the phase shifting method to measure the inplane deformations, together with the use of digital image equipment to process the informations contained in the speckle pattern and to display consequent interferograms on TV monitor. FEA was performed before experiments and we obtained good agreement between the experimental results and FEA.

Many aquatic ecosystems suffer from anthropogenic disturbances, including the introduction of damaging levels of toxic substances. The effects of disturbances include complex relations with various components involved in the systems, and can include physical, chemical, and hydrological disruption depending of the contaminant. Decision Support Systems (DSSs) are developed to help decision makers to deal with complex management crises, through the systematic structuring and evaluation of decisions, and through providing easy-to-use and integrated tools for information elaboration and display. We reviewed various DSSs developed for toxic substances in aquatic ecosystems, and suggested a conceptual framework which is best suited to the management of such issues within Korea. It may assist stakeholders with their decision making process, and in the achievement of a consensus on water management solutions.

Life cycle product data is very important yet difficult to handle for manufacturing companies. Shoring and exchanging product data over world-wide-web is a part of key technology to implement PDM or CALS. STEP is widely accepted as a standard to represent the life-cycle product model data. Described in this paper is a web browser plug-in that can graphically display and explore product data represented by STEP over internet. By the use of the plug-in (named "npSTEP"), a product model data stored in STEP format on a web server can be displayed on a commonly used web client (browser), such as Netscape navigator, without any format conversion process. Furthermore one can explore the components or attributes of the product model data in hierarchical manner.

Recently, miniaturization and mass production are the main trends in manufacturing fields. Therefore, ultraprecision machining and MEMS technology have been taken more and more important position in machining of microparts. Micro endmilling is one of the prominent technology that has wide spectrum of application field ranging from macro parts to micro products, such as PDP and IT components, in precision products manufacturing. However, the deburring is significant problem in making smooth and precise parts in micro endmilling. This paper shows removal characteristics of burr generated by micro endmilling process. Additionally, it is necessary to understand the formation mechanism of burr of micro barrier ribs to find proper deburring method.

최근에는 인쇄된 매체인 책과 함께 컴퓨터나 인터넷을 이용한 문학작품인 전자문학에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있으며, 이의 활용에 대해서는 다양한 측면에서 활발한 탐구가 있어왔다. 전자도서관을 이용한 효과적인 자료의 탐색, 전자문학 중심의 온라인 독서교육의 전개, 웹 문학의 교육적 활용 탐색 등의 연구가 있어왔고, 그것의 효과에 대해서 매우 긍정적이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 아동이 흥미를 갖고 있는 매체인 정을 기반으로 문학교육을 전개하는 방법을 탐색하고, 이를 구체화하여 모형으로 제시하였다.

Nowadays, many satellites regularly produce digital multispectral images of the earth's surface. Multispectral images may be displayed as color pictures by selecting three components for assignment to the primary colors. It is desired to enhance these images to generate a display picture that are representativde of their features. in this paper, a false color image processing algorithm is proposed for the purpose of enchancement of the multispectral images based on the human perception. The mean of each primary component is transformed to equalo. Intensity and saturation are enhanced by modified piecewise linear contrast strectching and saturation enhancement method. The proposed method has been successfully applied the LANDSAT TM image and shows good enhancement.
