  • In order to stabilize the rubbing process for liquid crystal panels, the authors developed "the sparkling dot area ratio evaluation method". This method quantifies the fiber length dispersion of rubbing cloths, which is a major cause of mura defects. The newly developed method enables quantitative evaluation of rubbing cloths and contributes to the improvement of rubbing process uniformity.

  • During a hypothetical high-pressure accident in a nuclear power plant (NPP), molten corium can be ejected through a breach of a reactor pressure vessel (RPV) and dispersed by a following jet of a high-pressure steam in the RPV. The dispersed corium is fragmented into smaller droplets in a reactor cavity of the NPP by the steam jet and released into other compartments of the NPP by a overpressure in the cavity. The fragments of the corium transfer thermal energy to the ambient air in the containment or interact chemically with steam and generate hydrogen which may be burnt in the containment. The thermal loads from the ejected molten corium on the containment which is called direct containment heating (DCH) can threaten the integrity of the containment. DCH in a NPP containment is related to many physical phenomena such as multi-phase hydrodynamics, thermodynamics and chemical process. In the evaluation of the DCH load, the melt dispersion rates depending on the RPV pressure are the most important parameter. Mostly, DCH was evaluated by using lumped-analysis codes with some correlations obtained from experiments for the dispersion rates. In this study, MC3D code was used to evaluate the dispersion rates in the APR1400 NPP during the high-pressure accidents. MC3D is a two-phase analysis code based on Eulerian four-fields for melt jet, melt droplets, gas and water. The dispersion rates of the corium melt depending on the RPV pressure were obtained from the MC3D analyses and the values specific to the APR1400 cavity geometry were compared to a currently available correlation.

추적자 확산 실험에 의한 서울 도심 확산 현상 연구 - 추적기체의 확산특징과 CALPUFF 모델에 의한 모사 (Tracer Experiment for the Investigation of Urban Scale Dispersion of Air Pollutants - Simulation by CALPUFF Dispersion Model and Diffusion Feature of Tracer Gases)

  • A series of tracer experiments for the evaluation of atmospheric dispersion was performed over the urban area of Seoul using two inert, non-deposition perfluorocarbon (PMCH and m-PDCH) gases during three years campaign on 2002, 2003 and 2005. 30 sampling sites for collecting these tracers were located along two arcs of 2.5 and 5 kilometers downwind from the release point. About ten measurements which each lasted for 2 hours or 4 hours were made over the two consecutive days during each campaign. CALPUFF and MM5 meteorological model were applied to evaluate the urban dispersion in detail. Size of Modeling domain was $27\;km{\times}23\;km$ and the fine nest in the modeling domain had a grid size of 0.5 km. The results showed that CALPUFF dispersion model had a tendency to estimate tracer concentrations about $2{\sim}5$ times less than those of ambient samples under many conditions. These consistent inaccuracy in urban dispersion was attributed to inherent inaccuracy and lack of details in terrain data at urban area.

  • 접착 조인트는 환경조건 및 작업자의 숙련도에 따라 접착강도가 크게 변화될 수 있으므로 이에 대한 비파괴 검사법은 매우 중요하다. 최근 접착제에 1-2 wt%의 CNT를 첨가하고 저항변화를 측정하여 접착 체결부의 내부 결함을 검출하는 전기저항법이 제시되었다. 전기저항법에서는 동일조건에서 접착조인트의 저항값이 일정하도록 하기 위하여 CNT의 균일한 분산이 매우 중요하며 이에 따라 결함 검출의 정확도가 좌우된다. 본 연구에서는 4가지 분산 방법으로 CNT를 접착제에 분산시켜 접착조인트을 제작하고 전기적 물리량을 측정하였다. 초음파를 이용한 CNT의 전처리 및 기화과정, 물리적 교반 방법등을 선정하여 효율적인 분산방법을 정립하고 분산성을 평가할 수 있는 척도를 제시하였으며 일반적인 분산 방법 대비 선정된 분산 방법을 적용했을 때 전기저항법의 결함검출능을 비교하였다.

  • 대부분의 지진해일에 대한 수치모의는 천수방정식을 지배방정식으로 하고 leap-frog 유한차분기법을 주로 적용한다. 이 기법은 격자간격을 적절히 선정하면 분산효과를 옳게 고려할 수 있으나, 수심이 변하는 경우 전 계산영역에서 분산효과를 모두 만족시킬 수는 없다. 본 연구에서는 균일한 격자와 계산시간간격을 사용하면서도 수심이 완만하게 변하는 지형상을 전파하는 지진해일의 국부적인 분산관계를 만족시키기 위해 기존의 2차원 완 변수심상 분산보정 유한차분기법을 개선하고, 이 수치모형의 현장 적용성을 검증하기 위해 1983년 동해중부 지진해일을 검조기록이 있는 동해안의 속초, 묵호, 포항 그리고 울산항에 대하여 수치모의하였다. 또한 1983년 지진해일에 대해 각 항만에서 측정된 검조기록과 수치모의에 의해 계산된 값을 비교 분석하여 수치모형의 정밀도를 평가하였다.

단순 형상 해양플랜트 내의 수소의 분산 시뮬레이션 (Dispersion Simulation of Hydrogen in Simple-shaped Offshore Plant)

  • Lots of orders of special vessels and offshore plants for developing the resources in deepwater have been increased in recent. Because the most of accidents on those structures are caused by fire and explosion, many researchers have been investigated quantitatively to predict the cause and effect of fire and explosion based on both experiments and numerical simulations. The first step of the evaluation procedures leading to fire and explosion is to predict the dispersion of flammable or toxic material, in which the released material mixes with surrounding air and be diluted. In particular turbulent mixing, but density differences due to molecular weight or temperature as well as diffusion will contribute to the mixing. In the present paper, the numerical simulation of hydrogen dispersion inside a simple-shaped offshore structure was performed using a commercial CFD program, ANSYS-CFX. The simulated results for concentration of released hydrogen are compared to those of experiment and other simulation in Jordan et al.(2007). As a result, it is seen that the present simulation results are closer to the experiments than other simulation ones. Also it seems that the hydrogen dispersion is closely related to turbulent mixing and the selection of the turbulence model properly is significantly of importance to the reproduction of dispersion phenomena.

이질적 과분산계수가 기대 교통사고건수 추정에 미치는 영향 (Impact of Heterogeneous Dispersion Parameter on the Expected Crash Frequency)

  • 본 연구는 기대 교통사고건수 추정을 위해 사용되는 SPF의 이질적 분산계수의 유의성이 이질적 사전분포에 직접적인 영향을 받는다는 가설을 검증하고, 이질적 사전분포에 대한 모형 오설정이 교통 안전개선 사업의 평가결과에 주는 영향의 특성을 분석하기 위해 수행되었다. 구체적으로 본 연구에서는 이질적 분산계수의 유의성과 이질적 사전분포의 연관성을 검증하기 위해 모의실험을 통해 이질적 사전분포를 발생시킨 후 이를 NB모형과 HNB모형을 이용하여 SPF를 추정하여 이질적 과분산계수가 SPF의 평균함수 및 분산함수에 주는 영향을 분석하였다. 또한 추정된 계수추정치를 이용한 사전분포의 초모수 추정치의 오차특성과 이질적 과분산계수를 고려하지 않았을 경우 발생하는 교통사고감소계수(CRF)의 오차 부호와 크기를 상세 분석하여 제시하였다. 모의실험 자료 분석결과 이질적 분산계수의 오추정은 포아송 사전분포의 평균에는 큰 영향을 주지 않으나 분산의 크기를 변화시켜 궁극적으로는 기대교통사고건수의 추정량인 사후평균의 값에 오차를 발생시킬 수 있으며, 구체적으로 이질적 분산함수를 NB모형으로 오설정할 경우 CRF의 값은 참값에 비해 최대 120%의 오차를 발생시키는 것으로 나타났다.

전기저항 평가법을 이용한 CNT 함유 에폭시의 탄소섬유내 젖음성 및 계면특성 예측 연구 (Prediction of Wetting and Interfacial Property of CNT Reinforced Epoxy on CF Tow Using Electrical Resistance Method)

  • 본 연구에서는 탄소 나노복합재료 수지의 분산도를 평가하기 위해 전기저항 측정방법을 활용한 평가 예측 연구를 시도하였다. 탄소 나노복합재료 수지을 탄소섬유 토우에 떨어뜨려 탄소섬유의 배열 변화에 따른 전기저항 변화도를 이용하여 분산도를 평가하였다. 분산도가 균일한 탄소 나노복합재료 수지의 상태는 섬유 토우의 배열을 변화시키더라도, 섬유들 사이에 CNT의 영향으로 전기적 접촉면을 생성시켜 비교적 낮은 전기저항 변화도를 나타낸다. 그러나 불균일한 나노입자 분산상태의 수지는 탄소섬유 토우의 필터링 현상에 나노입자와 에폭시가 분리되었다. 탄소섬유의 전기저항 변화도는 크게 변화되며, 이러한 전기저항 변화도의 크기차이를 이용하여 분산도를 분석할 수 있었다. 나노복합재료 수지 적용 섬유강화 복합재료의 ILSS 측정 결과와 전기저항 측정법을 이용한 분산도 평가 결과간의 상관관계를 비교하였다. 균일한 분산도 상태의 나노복합수지를 이용한 경우가 섬유강화 복합재료화 하였을 경우 우수한 계면 특성을 확인하였다.

초임계유체를 이용한 파클리탁셀고체분산체의 제조 및 평가 (Preparation and Evaluation of Paclitaxel Solid Dispersion by Supercritical Antisolvent Process)

  • Paclitaxel is a taxane diterpene amide, which was first extracted from the stem bark of the western yew, Taxus brevifolia. This natural product has proven to be useful in the treatment of a variety of human neoplastic disorders, including ovarian cancer, breast and lung cancer. Paclitaxel is a highly hydrophobic drug that is poorly soluble in water. It is mainly given by intravenous administration. Therefore, The pharmaceutical formulation of paclitaxel ($Taxol^{(R)}$; Bristol-Myers Squibb) contains 50% $Cremophor^{(R)}$ EL and 50% dehydrated ethanol. However the ethanol/Cremophor EL vehicle required to solubilize paclitaxel in $Taxol^{(R)}$ has a pharmacological and pharmaceutical problems. To overcome these problems, new formulations for paclitaxel that do not require solubilization by $Cremophor^{(R)}$ EL are currently being developed. Therefore this study utilized a supercritical fluid antisolvent (SAS) process for cremophor-free formulation. To select hydrophilic polymers that require solubilization for paclitaxel, we evaluated polymers and the ratio of paclitaxel/polymers. HP-${\beta}$-CD was used as a hydrophilic polymer in the preparation of the paclitaxel solid dispersion. Although solubility of paclitaxel by polymers was increased, physical stability of solution after paclitaxel/polymer powder soluble in saline was unstable. To overcome this problem, we investigated the use of surfactants. At 1/20/40 of paclitaxel/hydrophilic polymer/ surfactant weight ratio, about 10 mg/mL of paclitaxel can be solubilized in this system. Compared with the solubility of paclitaxel in water ($1\;{\mu}g/mL$), the paclitaxel solid dispersion prepared by SAS process increased the solubility of paclitaxel by near 10,000 folds. The physicochemical properties was also evaluated. The particle size distribution, melting point and amophorization and shape of the powder particles were fully characterized by particle size distribution analyzer, DSC, SEM and XRD. In summary, through the SAS process, uniform nano-scale paclitaxel solid dispersion powders were obtained with excellent results compared with $Taxol^{(R)}$ for the physicochemical properties, solubility and pharmacokinetic behavior.

고속도로 환경영향평가를 위한 대기확산모델링 연구 (A Study of Air Dispersion Modeling in Highway Environmental Impact Assessment)

  • In order to choose proper dispersion model and emission factors suitable in Korea in evaluating the effect of pollutants emitted by the vehicles in highway on nearby area, various road dispersion models and vehicle emission factors were reviewed. With theoretical inter-comparisons of the exiting models for line source, CALINE 3 and CALINE 4 models which were suggested by US EPA were selected as the road dispersion models for further evaluation with the measurement. The emission factors suggested by Korean Ministry of Environment was turned out to be appropriate since the classification of vehicle kinds was simple and easy to apply in Korea. The comparisons of predicted concentrations by CALINE 3 and 4 models with the measurements in flat, fill and bridge road types showed that CO and PM-10 were in good agreements with experiments and the differences between CALINE 3 and 4 models are negligible. The model concentrations of $NO_2$ by CALINE 4 were also in good agreement with the measurement but those by CALINE 3 were over-predicted. The discrepancies in CALINE 3 model were due to rapid decay reaction of $NO_2$ near the highway, which was not included in CALINE 3 model. For the road type with one & two side cutting grounds, the similar patterns as the flat & fill road type for CO, PM10, & $NO_2$ were observed but the number of data for comparison in these cases were not enough to draw the conclusion. These results lead to the conclusion that CALINE4 model is proper in road environmental impact assessment near the highway in flat, fill and bridge road types.
