Carrier Dyeing of Polyester Fabrics in Alkaline Dyebath (폴리에스테르직물의 알칼리욕에서의 Carrier염색)

  • The optimum carrier concentrations were obtained by the maxmium exhaustion ratios of polyester fabrics at 80℃. The optimum concentrations of methylsalicylate, acetophenone, anisole, propiophenone, 2-ethyl hexyl alcohol, ethylene glycol and propylene glycol were 3g/ℓ, 12g/ℓ, 7g/ℓ, 5g/ℓ, 3g/ℓ, 35g/ℓ, and 40g/ℓ, respectively. Azo, anthraquinone, and quinoline disperse dyes were quite stable up to pH 10.3, but nitro disperse dye were severely hydrolyzed in alkaline dyeing. The tensile strength decreased with increasing dyebath pH because the polyester fabrics were easily decomposed by alkali. The reduction cleaning could be canceled in alkaline dyeing because the carriers were solved by alkali during dyeing.

Application of Deep Black Color on Polyester Fabrics by Color Matching (컬러 매칭에 의한 폴리에스테르 직물의 심색효과)

  • The deep black coloration of polyester fabrics was obtained by the physical properties of color and color mixing system. In this experiment, we have measured the absorbance and the reflectance of various disperse dyes for accomplishing the lowest lightness value and uniform reflectance, and new matching algorithm and computer color matching was made. The matching used both isomeric and metameric matching. The color matching of deep black color represented low lightness. Though actual reflectance of dyed polyester fabrics using these matching results was as high as theoretical one, low lightness value($L^*$) and uniform appearance were achieved.

  • As a subsequent research of the previously reported$^{9)}$, a series of diaminoanthraquinoid blue dyes having hexyl, heptyl and octyl substituents were newly synthesized in order to investigate dyeability toward polypropylene fibers. As the length of alkyl groups introduced to the chromophore increased, the dyeability of the dyes toward polypropylene fibers also increased and then gradually decreased. From the result of dyeing, the hexyl-substituted dye showed the highest color strength and deep shade on pure polypropylene fibers. The good fastness rates to wash, rubbing and light were also obtained for all of the synthesized dyes.

  • A series of azo based disperse dyes were synthesized and applied to polyester(PET) fiber in supercritical carbon dioxide($ScCO_2$). Various aniline derivatives were used as diazo component and coupled with glycine ethylester or carbonic acid ethylester derivatives to give azo based disperse dyes. Depending on the various diazo substituents, absorption maxima varied from 415 to 529nm in acetone. Dyeing in $ScCO_2$ was carried out at $120^{\circ}C$ and 250bar pressure for 2hrs with 0.5% o.w.f. of dye concentration. Dyed PET fiber had excellent brightness and good light, washing and perspiration(acid/alkali) fastness properties.

  • 본 연구는 diester계 커플러를 이용하여 phthalimide계 신규 분산 염료를 합성하였다. 대부분의 염료들은 4급 이상의 염착률을 보였고 견뢰도 평가에서는 alkali조건에서 multi-clearable dye가 되므로 세탁견뢰도는 염료 3과 5가 4-5급의 우수한 견뢰도를 가지며, 습.마찰견뢰도는 염료 2 및 6이 가장 우수하였다.

  • 양모는 풍후와 광에 의해 모단(tip)의 소수성 부분이 많이 상해되는 반면 모근(root)은 상대적으로 안정하다. 이로 인하여 모단에 비하여 모근에서 염료의 확산이 더 빠르기 때문에, 양모염색에 있어서 tipping현상이 나타나게 된다. 반응성염료로 양모를 염색하는 경우 전형적인 tippy-dyeing이 일어난다. 일반적으로 이들은 두 개 이상의 수용성기를 가지므로 친수성이 강하여, 모근보다 모단에 더 많이 흡진된다. (중략)

  • For decolorization of synthetic dyes, One fungus(HUE05-1) which was isolated from textile wastewater collected from industrial complex in Korea showed excellent ability of removing synthetic dyes. This fungus was identified as Basidiomycetes species by Internal Transcribed Spacers (ITS) sequence. Isolated fungi. HUE05-1 completely decolorized all dyes in both solid and liquid condition. The decolorization results were Reactive Orange-16, 97.12%; Reactive Blue-19, 92.09%; Reactive Blue-49, 97.04%; Reactive Yellow-145, 95.53%; Acid Orange-10, 99.18%; Acid Violet-43, 98.73%; Acid Blue-350, 94.71% and Disperse Blue-106, 90.07%.

Dyeing Properties of colored Burn-out Printing on the Polyester/Cellulosic fiber Mixed Fabrics (폴리에스테르/셀룰로오스계 교직물의 착색탄화날염의 염색성)

  • 'Burn-Out' is a kind of printing process that can create many textural effects, also high added value of the fabrics. In the previous studies, it is examined how to burn out the cellulose part of the velvet and the polyester/cellulosic fiber mixed fabric without damage of the other part and the effects of process conditions. In this study, dyeing properties of the colored burn-out printing were investigated with various conditions onto the polyester/cellulosic fiber mixed fabrics with red disperse dye. As a results, the apparent color depth (K/S) is increased with increasing of concentration of dye. The optimum treatment conditions without any shrinkage or occurrence of yellowness on the polyester ground fabrics are fixation temperature of $140^{\circ}C$ and time of 3 minutes.

Changes in Surface Shape and Physical Properties of Acetate Fabrics by Alkaline and Cellulase Treatment (알칼리와 셀룰라아제 처리에 의한 아세테이트 직물의 표면 형태 및 성능의 변화)

  • The purpose of this study is to present basic data for the enzymatic modification of acetate fabrics. The weight loss and rate of weight loss of acetate fabrics increased with increasing NaOH concentration and treating time. Acetyl value decreased as the weight loss became higher. The weight loss of alkaline-treated acetate fabrics were directly proportional to the concentration and treating time of cellulase. The optimum temperature and pH in cellulase treatment were $55^\circ{C}$ and pH 3.5. The surface shape revealed that density of fiber decreased by alkaline-treatment. With the treating time of cellulase, fibrillation occurred. In case of higher weight loss in alkaline treatment, fibril is removed after 180 min. The tensile strength decreased by alkaline and cellulase treatment. Especially, in case of higher weight loss of alkaline treatment, tensile strength decreased suddenly. Alkaline treatment increased the drapability of acetates, while cellulase treatment increased it initially but decreased gradually with treatment time. The dyeability after alkaline treatment was improved for reactive dye, but deteriorated for disperse dye. The cellulase treatment of acetate lowered the dyeability for both types of dyes.

Comparison of Some Process Components of Polyester Microfibre Dyeing by Using Mathematical and Experimental Methods

  • In this paper, a comparison between a mathematical and an experimental method for the evaluation. of some process components of polyester microfibre dyeing is presented. In the experimental part, a dyeing procedure was chosen, K/S values of the dyed samples were measured and the coefficients of the mathematical formula presented in the mathematical part were obtained. K/S values of different dyeing procedures were also measured. In the mathematical part, predicted K/S values were calculated by a novel formula. The results of the two methods were then compared. According to the results obtained, the mathematical formula presented in this study can be used for calculating the predicted K/S values at lower dye concentrations.
