  • Flight behavior of Mntsucoccus thunbergianae males and their response to the synthetic sex pheromone, (6R.lOR)-matsuone, were studied in Pinus thunbergiana forests More males were flying around the tree crown than near the ground. A dispenser loaded w~th 50 vg of the pheromone appeared to affect the density of male flights less than 10 meters Sticky traps with 50 pg of the pheromone attracted flylng males, but those with 1 pg were not effectwe in a forest wlth high crown closure, more males were tmpped at upper crown level than near the ground whereas males appeared to be more responsive to pheromone near the ground in a forest with low crown closure Monitoring new scale iniestations with pheromone mps was much more effective than egg sac surveys, the customary detecting procedures Maiing disruption was not achieved by placing 32 mg of pheromone m a space of l X l X l meter.

  • Hydrogen is difficult to accurately measure the amount of charge due to sudden temperature changes and pressure rise when charging the vehicle. In order to construct a hydrogen infrastructure, it is important to precisely measure the amount of charge that can be a sensitive issue in commercial transactions. In this study, the accuracy of metering of domestic hydrogen stations was evaluated as a study for metering management of hydrogen dispenser. For the experiment, we constructed metering system using master meter method and measured the flow rate in the actual hydrogen vehicle charging environment. As a result of error occurred about 10% on average, and the hydrogen loss per one charge was found to be up to 60g.

  • Stockigt sizing test, which is readily affected by individual tester's bias as well as testing conditions in recognizing red coloration, had to be modified to improve its reliability and reproducibility. The novel testing system with the automatic recognizing program of red coloration was developed with the auxiliary equipments including an automatic liquid dispenser and a specimen shifter. The analysis program used a hue value of a droplet image in recognizing a point of time on red coloration instead of RGB values that are not similar to human perception of color. Hue was more sensitive in recognizing the red coloration of a droplet than the other two factors, Saturation and Value. During the test, the program records the time consumed up to a specific hue value of a droplet on a specimen. Differently from the conventional test, the automatic test could obtain a reliable and reproducible sizing degree with a minor error. Furthermore, the Stockigt sizing degree measured by the automatic system showed great correlations with contact angle and Hercules sizing degree. It means that such great correlations will contribute to the development of an integrated measuring system capable of predicting contact angle, surface tension, surface energy and Hercules sizing degree of paper and paperboards through the Stbckigt sizing test. It was meaningful to note that the automatic system for Stbckigt sizing test might be able to used to predict contact angle, Hercules and Cobb sizing degree, based upon the high correlation coefficients.

  • Aqueous thermal liquefaction of rice, barley, wheat, and rapeseed straws was investigated to compare the amount of heavy oil with catalysts such as $K_2CO_3$, NaOH and KOH in the reaction temperature at $320^{\circ}C$ for 10 minutes. The reaction was carried out in a 5,000ml liquefaction system with dispenser and external electrical furnace. Raw materials (160g), 2,000ml of distilled water and 10% (wt/wt) of catalyst to plant residue were fed into the reactor. It was observed that the maximum heavy oil yield was about 29% from the feeding stock, barley straw, with addition of KOH. The caloric values of crude oil from different crop residues were ranged from 55% to 66% relative to the raw materials depend on crop residue. It was appeared that its maximum calorific value from wheat straw was approximately 6190 kcal/kg.

  • The purpose of this study is safety evaluation of solar energy generation which is installed on the canopy at the LPG filling station. in case of a gas station, the solar energy generation was become legalization through a related law reform in 2008. Also, in case of a LPG filling station, the solar energy generation was become legalization through a related law reform in 2015. So, the related law that KGS CODE and Safety control of dangerous substances law and the case of installed solar energy generation in gas, LPG filling station was investigated. two scenarios are supposed for the CFD. Release of safety valve pipeline and ruptured dispenser leakage are the scenarios. The FLACS which developed GexCon in Norway was used for simulation. LPG dispersion to the upper side of canopy was very small with safety distance.

  • Micro-light emitting diode (micro-LED) displays offer numerous advantages such as high brightness, fast response, and low power consumption. Hence, they are spotlighted as the next-generation display. However, defective LEDs may be created due to non-uniform contact loads or LED alignment errors. Therefore, a repair process involving the replacement of defective LEDs with favorable ones is necessitated. The general repair process involves the removal of defective micro-LEDs, interconnection material transfer, as well as new micro-LED transfer and bonding. However, micro-LEDs are difficult to repair since their size decreases to a few tens of micron in width and less than 10 ㎛ in thickness. The conventional nozzle-type dispenser for fluxes and the conventional vacuum chuck for LEDs are not applicable to the micro-LED repair process. In this study, transfer conditions are determined using a micro stamp for repairing micro-LEDs. Results show that the aging time should be set to within 60 min, based on measuring the aging time of the flux. Additionally, the micro-LEDs are subjected to a compression test, and the result shows that they should be transferred under 18.4 MPa. Finally, the I-V curves of micro-LEDs processed by the laser and hot plate reflows are measured to compare the electrical properties of the micro-LEDs based on the reflow methods. It was confirmed that the micro-LEDs processed by the laser reflow show similar electrical performance with that processed by the hot plate reflow. The results can provide guidance for the repair of micro-LEDs using micro stamps.

Efficient way to clean Solder Printer Nozzles

  • In surface mount technology (SMT), the screen printer, which is an equipment for applying solder cream, has a lot of poor coating as the pad becomes smaller. To solve this problem, a jet printer is being used recently. However, if the nozzle at the end of the valve applied to the jet printer head is not cleaned, solder cream remains or an error occurs. To prevent this, the nozzles should be cleaned periodically. In this paper, a more stable cleaning method than the existing technology is presented for the stable application of solder cream on a jet printer. In this method, cut a 35mm wide mujin cloth, wrap it in a roll, and rotate it with a DC geared motor on the other side to clean it. As a result, it was confirmed that the solder paste was not left on the nozzle surface and was well wiped when cleaning with about 2,000 dotting cycles.

A Study on Damage Assessment for Fuel Cell Facilities in Gas Stations (주유소 내 연료전지설비에 대한 사고피해예측 연구)

  • Fuel cells are low-carbon power sources that can expand distributed energy system and electric vehicle charging infrastructure when installing fuel cells in gas stations. In order to ensure safety for fuel cells in gas stations, quantitative risk assessments were conducted after deriving accident scenarios based on accident data of domestic and foreign gas stations and fuel cells. It calculates the expected extent of damage from fire and explosion that can occur in reality, not the worst accident scenario, and analyzes the damage impact. The separation distance of more than 9.0 m from a dispenser, 15.5 m from a car under refueling, 4.1 m from the ventilation pipe, 1.1 m from the gas adjustment device prevent the severe damage caused by the expected accident. This study result can be used to deploy fuel cells in gas stations and establish safety measures.

Comparison of WiFi Protocols for Safety Communication Between Hydrogen Refueling Station and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (수소충전소와 수소전기차간의 안전통신을 위한 WiFi 프로토콜 비교)

  • SAE J2601 and SAE J2799, the communication protocols between a hydrogen refueling station and a fuel cell electric vehicle, only cover hydrogen charging. In this paper, we measure the hydrogen detection, current, and voltage of a fuel cell electric vehicle and transmit the sensor data to the hydrogen refueling station by changing the WiFi protocol. A small-scale laboratory model was built using Raspberry Pi for sensing, controlling, and transmitting sensor data of a fuel cell electric vehicle. The sensor data was stored in the database of the hydrogen refueling station, and a dashboard was configured using Grafana to analyze the stored data. When hydrogen is detected, the dispenser valve of the hydrogen refueling station is locked. Then, we measured the average transmission delay according to the WiFi protocol. The results showed that IEEE 802.11a is the most suitable WiFi protocol for transmitting sensor data between the hydrogen refueling station and the fuel cell electric vehicle.

A Study on Safety Impact Assessment of a Multiple Hydrogen Refueling Station (다차종 동시 충전을 위한 수소 스테이션의 안전 영향 평가 연구)

  • As the proliferation of hydrogen electric vehicles accelerates, there is observed diversification in hydrogen refueling station models. This diversification raises safety concerns for different types of stations. This study conducted a quantitative risk assessment of a multi-vehicle hydrogen station, capable of simultaneously refueling cars, buses, and trucks. Utilizing Gexcon's Effects&Riskcurves Software, scenarios of fire and explosion due to hydrogen leaks were assessed. The study calculated the impact distances from radiative heat and explosion overpressure, and measured risks to nearby buildings and populations. The largest impact distance was from fires and explosions at dispensers and high-pressure storage units. High-pressure storage contributes most significantly to personal and societal risk. The study suggests that conservative safety distances and proper protective measures for these facilities can minimize human and material damage in the event of a hydrogen leak.
