Measuring Consumers' Value of the Functional Processing Diet Rice Using the CVM and Marketing Strategy (기능성 다이어트 쌀의 소비자 가치평가와 마케팅 전략)

  • This study is to estimate consumers' value of the functional processing diet rice using the multi bounded discrete choice CVM. The results is shown that householders are willing to pay 2,637won/kg, 2,983won/kg and 3,428won/kg(definitely, sure, not sure) for buying the the functional processing diet rice. Results also show that the estimate of the aggregated buying value of the functional processing diet rice is approximately 2,239 billion won in the definitely scenario in Seoul province. The marketing strategy of the functional processing diet rice is divided by the on line and off line marketing.

Analysis of Transportation Mode Choice Behavior Based on Accessibility : Focused on Chungnam-Weihai route (접근성에 따른 운송수단 선택행동에 관한 분석 : 충남-위해구간을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the choice behavior of the mode of transportation for travel from Korea to China. Discrete choice analysis is utilized to establish the factors that affect travelers' choice and to quantify the importance of these factors in transportation mode choices. The proposed choice models were constructed by using stated-preference (SP) data obtained from Chungcheongnam-do. This study also examined different choice behavior in order to capture any previously unobserved differences in the residence area. Results showed that the access time and frequency attributes are the most significant factors, while the travel time attributes are the least significant factors for travelers' choice behaviour. The insights of the results described in this research provide some practical suggestions to transportation providers for planning and strategic management endeavors in the future.

The impact of artificial discrete simulation of wind field on vehicle running performance

  • To investigate the effects of "sudden change" of wind fluctuations on vehicle running performance, which is caused by the artificial discrete simulation of wind field, a three-dimensional vehicle model is set up with multi-body dynamics theory and the vehicle dynamic responses in crosswind conditions are obtained in time domain. Based on Hilbert Huang Transform, the effects of simulation separations on time-frequency characteristics of wind field are discussed. In addition, the probability density distribution of "sudden change" of wind fluctuations is displayed, addressing the effects of simulation separation, mean wind speed and vehicle speed on the "sudden change" of wind fluctuations. The "sudden change" of vehicle dynamic responses, which is due to the discontinuity of wind fluctuations on moving vehicle, is also analyzed. With Principal Component Analysis, the comprehensive evaluation of vehicle running performance in crosswind conditions at different simulation separations of wind field is investigated. The results demonstrate that the artificial discrete simulation of wind field often causes "sudden change" in the wind fluctuations and the corresponding vehicle dynamic responses are noticeably affected. It provides a theoretical foundation for the choice of a suitable simulation separation of wind field in engineering application.

Estimating Effects of Attributes on Choice of Pizza Restaurants by Purchase Frequency (구매빈도별 피자전문점 선택에 미치는 속성의 영향 평가)

  • The purpose of this study is to measure the pizza purchasing behavioral characteristics of respondents and importances of factors affecting pizza purchase, to estimate the effects of attributes on choice of pizza restaurant, and to predict probability of selecting a particular pizza restaurant. The questionnaire consisted of two parts: The paired experimental profiles, purchasing behavior and importances of factors affecting pizza purchase. This study generated profiles of 16 hypothetical pizza restaurants based on seven attributes. The profiles comprised 16 discrete sets of variables, each of which had two levels. For this study, researcher randomly selected 150 university students as respondents. Twenty one students did not complete the survey instrument, resulting in a final sample size of 129. All estimations were carried out using frequencies, $X^2$, independent samples t-test, phreg procedure of SAS package. The results were as followed: Some purchasing behavioral characteristics and importances of factors affecting pizza purchase were significantly different by purchase frequency. Based on the estimated models developed for the two purchase frequency groups, the Chi-square statistics were significant at p<0.001. The parameter estimate for late delivery time with frequently purchase frequency group was highest, and the parameter estimate for price with frequently purchase frequency group was highest. The pizza restaurants that charged 20,000 won, offered 100% discount on eleventh pizza, promised to deliver pizza in 20 min, usually delivered the pizza as promised, offered 2 or more types of pizza crust, delivered steaming hot pizza, and did not offer a money-back guarantee which was favored by each of the two purchase frequency groups. The results from this study suggested that there was an opportunity to increase market share and profit by improving operations so that customers can receive discount and money-back guarantee simultaneously, and by reducing price, delivery time.

The Study of the Effect of Tour Site Personality and Attributes on the Choice of Tour Site (관광지 개성과 속성이 관광지 선택에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the impact of brand personality on the choice of tour site. For this purpose, Japanese, Chinese and Korean tourists visiting Jeju-Ireland were sampled and asked to evaluate the personality dimensions and attributes of six major tour sites in Asia. Factor analysis is applied to 42 personality scales of Aaker and 5 personality dimensions are extracted. Then, Multinomial Logit model is applied to estimate the relative impact of personality dimensions and attributes on the choice of tour sites. Results suggest useful implications. The personality of tour sites has meaningful influence on choice of tour sites, in some cases more important than tour site attributes. Among 5 dimensions of personality, sincerity and excitement are found to be important dimensions in the choice process of tour site. Sophistication of the site, expressed as glamorous, charming, handsomeness, uniqueness, and smooth, is also found to be important in determining intention to visit in the future.

  • We investigate a probabilistic public key cryptosystem proposed by Paillier. It is based on the discrete logarithmic function and the messages are calculated from the modular product of two those functions, one of which has a fixed value depending on a given public key. The improvement is achieved by a good choice for the public key so that it is possible to get efficient schemes without losing the onewayness and semantic security. Also we suggest the method to get the public key for our schemes.

  • The object of this research is to develop a simulation system for earthmoving operations in consideration of the impact of congestion in-between equipment and existing traffic flow around the site. The congestion in-between equipment and traffic flow affect work productivity. The conventional discrete event simulation, however, has limitations in simulating the flow of construction equipment. To consider the impact of congestion in-between equipment and existing traffic flow, in this paper, a multi-agent based simulation model that can realize characteristics of truck behavior more accurately to consider the impact of congestion was proposed. In this simulation model, multiple agents can identify environmental changes and adapt themselves to the new environment. This modeling approach is a better choice for this problem since it describes behavioral characteristics of each agent by sensing changes in dynamic surroundings. This study suggests a detailed system design of the multi-agent based simulation system.

Design of control systems by a linear fractional transformation (선형분수변환을 이용한 제어계설계)

  • The fundamental objective of this paper has been to develop a means for incoporating the concept of the linear fractional transformation more generally and easily into multivariable feedback design procedure. When we design a continuous system, generally, we are constrained by design methods which arise specifically for the system. Also, in the design of descrete systems, it is the same concept. But the approach developed in this paper is very flexible in the view that in spite of being the continuous or discrete, the design can be done using a well known design method in both cases. That is, when we design a contnuous system or discrete system, the design can be done by a standard design method of continuous systmes or discrete ones, depending on the choice of the linear fractional transformation. Therefore, it is noted that this concept has broken the unflexibility of the conventional design rules for multivariable control system. In essence, the concept shows that if a given system is controllable, some desirable design, for examples, pole assignment within prespecified region, optimal controllers with poles within prespecified region etc., could be done easily by transforming a desirable region into a standard region, such as the complex left-half plane or the unit disk, by the chosen linear fractional transformation, and then by designing the transformed system using the well known standard results.

A Study on the Stochastic User Equilibrium Assignment (확솔적 이용자 평형통행 배분에 관한 연구)

  • The behavioral mechanism underlying the traffic assignment model is a choice, or decision-making process of traveling paths between origins and destinations. The deterministic approach to traffic assignment assumes that travelers choose shortest path from their origin-destination pair. Although this assumption seems reasonable, it presumes that all travelers have perfect information regarding travel time, that they make consistently correct decision, and that they all behave in identical fashion. Stochastic user equilibrium assignment relaxes these presumptions by including a random component in traveler's perception of travel time. The objective of this study is to compare "A Model of Deterministic User Equilibrium Assignment" with "Models of Stochastic User Equilibrium Assignment" in the theoretical and practical aspects. Specifically, SUE models are developed to logit and probit based models according to discrete choice functions. The models were applied to sioux Falls net ork consisting of 24 zones, 24 nodes and 76 links. The distribution of perceived travel time was obtained by using the relationship between speed and traffic flow.

Development of Route Choice Behavior Analysis Simulator Under Various ATIS Environment (ATIS 환경하에서 운전자경로선택 분석 시뮬레이터의 개발)

  • 본 논문은 ATIS의 효과를 평가할 수 있도록 교통정보제공에 따른 운전자의 노선선택 행태자료를 수집할 수 있는 시뮬레이터 개발에 관한 것이다. 현재 이러한 행태자료를 수집하기 위해서 설문지에 의한 SP(Stated Preference) 설문조사가 널리 수행되어지고 있으나 이러한 설문조사방법은 ATIS와 같은 가상의 환경을 응답자에게 이해시킬 수 있는 설문지를 작성하기가 힘들고, 무엇보다 운전중에 느끼게 되는 time pressure를 현실적으로 반영하지 못하기 때문에 신뢰성있는 자료를 수집하는데 어려움이 있다. 시뮬레이터는 보다 현실적인 교통상황을 계산하고 적절한 인터페이스 구성을 통해 교통상황과 분석자의 설문 의도를 응답자에게 효과적으로 인지시킬 수 있다는 장점을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서 세 가지 모듈(교통 시뮬레이션 모듈, 데이터베이스 모듈, 이용자 인터페이스 모듈)로 구성된 프로토타입 시뮬레이터를 개발하였다. 개발된 프로토타입의 유용성을 알아보기 위해 실제로 실시간 교통정보가 제공되는 작은 네트워크를 대상으로 파일럿 테스트를 수행하였고, 수집된 자료는 discrete choice model을 정산하는데 사용하였으며 그 분석결과는 상당히 합리적인 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 이러한 시뮬레이터는 교통정보전략에 따른 효과를 사전에 분석해보고, 효과적인 교통정보시스템을 설계 및 운영하는데 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
