Valve Point 효과가 고려된 경제급전 문제에서의 유전알고리즘 응용 (Genetic Algorithm Based Economic Dispatch with Valve Point Loading)

  • This paper presents a new approach on genetic algorithms to economic dispatch problem for valve point discontinuities. Although it has been already shown that genetic algorithm was more powerful to economic dispatch problem for valve point discontinuities than other optimization algorithms, proposed approach in this paper on genetic algorithms improves the performance to solve economic dispatch problem for valve point discontinuities through combination in penalty function with death penalty, generation-apart elitism and heuristic crossover. Numerical results on an actural utility system consisted of 13 thermal units show that the proposed approach is faster and robuster than the classical genetic algorithm.

통계적 접근법에 의한 불연속암반의 지하수 유동해석 (Groundwaterflow analysis of discontinuous rock mass with probabilistic approach)

  • A two dimensional analysis program for groundwater flow in fractured network was developed to analyze the influence of discontinuity characteristics on groundwater flow. This program involves the generation of discontinuities and also connectivity analysis. The discontinuities were generated by the probabilistic density function(P.D.F.) reflecting the characteristics of discontinuities. And the fracture network model was completed through the connectivity analysis. This program also involves the analysis of groundwater flow through the discontinuity network. The result of numerical experiment shows that the equivalent hydraulic conductivity increased and became closer to isotropic as the density and trace length increased. And hydraulic head decreased along the fracture zone because of much water-flow. The grouting increased the groundwater head around cavern. An analysis of groundwater flow through discontinuity network was performed around underground oil storage cavern which is now under construction. The probabilistic density functions(P.D.F) were obtained from the investigation of the discontinuity trace map. When the anisotropic hydraulic conductivity is used, the flow rate into the cavern was below the acceptable value to maintain the hydraulic containment. But when the isotropic hydraulic conductivity is used, the flow rate was above the acceptable value.

  • The volume of an acoustic source is important in determining various acoustic parameters. One of the suggested techniques is the internal pressure method incorporating a loudspeaker attached to a chamber wall and a microphone inserted into the cavity. Although the method is easy to handle with a very simple measurement setup, the coupling effects between the dynamic system of the loudspeaker and acoustic field, and the effects of higher order modes introduced by the discontinuities in the acoustic field, and the effects of higher order modes introduced by the discontinuities in the acoustic field should be considered for precise result. In this study, higher order modes due to the discontinuities of loudspeaker and microphone boundaries are included and the electro-acoustic coupling effects are compensated for by using the results of two cylinders with different lengths. The volume velocity of a loudspeaker thus obtained agrees very with that measured by laser sensor.

A smooth boundary scheme-based topology optimization for functionally graded structures with discontinuities

  • This paper presents a novel implicit level set method for topology optimization of functionally graded (FG) structures with pre-existing discontinuities (pre-cracks) using radial basis functions (RBF). The mathematical formulation of the optimization problem is developed by incorporating RBF-based nodal densities as design variables and minimizing compliance as the objective function. To accurately capture crack-tip behavior, crack-tip enrichment functions are introduced, and an eXtended Finite Element Method (X-FEM) is employed for analyzing the mechanical response of FG structures with strong discontinuities. The enforcement of boundary conditions is achieved using the Hamilton-Jacobi method. The study provides detailed mathematical expressions for topology optimization of systems with defects using FG materials. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the efficiency and reliability of the proposed methodology.

3차원 수치해석을 이용한 터널막장 전방 지반 상태의 예측 (The Prediction of Ground Condition ahead of the Tunnel Face using 3-Dimensional Numerical Analysis)

  • 암반은 지각을 형성하는 암석의 집합체로서 지질학적인 생성 과정에서 단층, 절리 등의 역학적 불연속면을 포함하고 있다. 이러한 불연속면은 구조상 매우 취약하므로 지하 암반구조물의 안정성을 확보하기 위해서는 불연속면의 특성을 고려한 설계가 필수적이며, NATM터널 시공 시에는 이러한 불연속면을 가능한 빨리 확인하여 굴착공법 및 지보체계의 변경이 조속히 이루어져야 한다. 지하 암반 중에 터널을 굴착하게 되면, 터널 막장면을 포함한 무지보 굴착면 주위에 발생하는 3차원적 응력 전이 현상으로 인하여 막장 전방에 연약대가 존재하거나 파쇄대가 존재하는 경우에 터널의 내공 변위가 특정한 경향을 나타내는 것이 기존 연구 결과로 알려져 있다. 막장 전방의 불연속면 상태에 따른 내공변위 경향을 알아보기 위하여 막장 전방에 존재하는 불연속면의 변형계수, 두께, 방향성 등을 변화시켜가며 3차원 수치해석을 수행하였다. 수치해석 결과에서 다양한 변위성분의 영향선과 경향선의 변화가 실제 측정값들과 비슷하다는 것을 알 수 있었으며 불연속면의 물성, 두께, 방향성에 따라 값의 변화 정도가 달라지는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 지하 구조물 구축 시 구조물의 안정성을 확보하기 위해서는 주변 암반에 대한 암반 분류가 필수적으로 수행해야 한다. 특히 암반 내에 존재하는 불연속면은 암반의 물리적, 역학적 특성에 지배적인 영향을 미치므로 암반 불연속면에 대한 정확한 정보의 획득을 통해 신뢰도 높은 암반분류값을 제시하는 것은 매우 중요한 요소이다. 이러한 암반 분류는 지금까지 대부분 수작업을 통해 수행되었다. 그러나 대규모 지질조사와 같은 대형 조사면적에 대한 정확도의 부재, 비숙련자에 의한 암반 등급 결정값의 신뢰도 결여 등에 대한 문제점들이 항시 제기되어 왔다. 따라서 최근에 와서는 넓은 범위에 대해서도 신속하고 정확한 암반 분류를 위해 LiDAR를 이용한 암반 분류의 자동화에 대한 연구가 국내·외적으로 널리 이루어지고 있는 추세이다. 그러나 LiDAR 촬영으로 획득되는 point cloud로부터 불연속면의 정보를 분석하는 알고리즘의 특성에 따라 상이한 결과가 도출될 수 있으며, 숙련자에 의한 수작업의 결과를 완벽하게 대체하기에는 미흡한 경우가 종종 발생하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 LiDAR 촬영으로 획득한 point cloud로부터 불연속면을 추출하는 다양한 알고리즘을 설명하였으며, 이들 알고리즘을 이용하여 실제 암반 사면을 대상으로 불연속면을 추출하는 과정을 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 제시하는 다양한 알고리즘의 적용 과정은 향후 LiDAR 등을 통하여 획득한 디지털 데이터로부터 암반 불연속면을 추출하는 연구에서 참고자료로 활용될 것을 기대한다.

  • Underground structures show different behaviors depending upon the space and the mechanical characteristics of discontinuities, such as joints, beddings, faults and shear zone. Desingning the rock structeres without considering the significance of these discontinuities can lead to false conclusions. This paper includes study on the following topics; the numerical analysis of continuous rock and discontinuous rock around a tunnel, the influences on shotcrete moment and rock-bolt axial force of tunnel due to different joint orientation and stiffness.

  • We present a new scheme to increase the performance of edge-preserving image smoothing from the parameter tuning of a Markov random field (MRF) function. The method is based on automatic control of the image smoothing-strength in MRF model ing in which an introduced parameter function is based on control of enforcing power of a discontinuity-adaptive Markov function and edge magnitude resulted from discontinuities of image intensity. Without any binary decision for the edge magnitude, adaptive control of the enforcing power with the full edge magnitude could improve the performance of discontinuity-preserving image smoothing.

  • A simple method is proposed to detect the number of change points and test the location and size of multiple change points with jump discontinuities in an otherwise smooth regression model. The proposed estimators are based on a local linear regression fit by the comparison of left and right one-side kernel smoother. Our proposed methodology is explained and applied to real data and simulated data.
