산지습지의 생태적 복원을 위한 수문학적 기능 평가에 관한 연구 (A study on the estimation of hydrologic function for ecological restoration at forested wetland)

  • This study was conducted as restoration work to improve the discharge in forested wetlands where there is a concern of damage and observed changes in the discharge and groundwater level. The monthly changes showed that during the wet season, the amount of discharge decreased after restoration and GWL increased. It showed that during the dry season, the GWL and discharge increased. The increased discharge after restoration seems to be the difference in the number of days with no rainfall duration. The change in discharge for each unit of rainfall showed a tendency to increase the baseflow and decrease the direct discharge after restoration. The recharge ratio of GWL showed a decreasing tendency as rainfall was higher. After restoration, it showed a higher tendency under rainfall with less than 20mm. It has been confirmed that the restoration implemented by the study caused such an effect as the increased baseflow and increased GWL. It would be an effective restoration method to maintain water resources in forested wetlands. In the initial rainfall, it demonstrated a certain level of effect, but it is necessary to develop a restoration technology that can decrease the amount of water discharged after the end of rainfall or during the period of no rainfall to protect and maintain the forested wetlands. Streamflow should be identified by each type of terrain of wetlands and a proper restoration countermeasure should be devised for the site where the discharge frequently occurs.

  • 액체산소/케로신 가스발생기 사이클 엔진의 터빈 노즐목 수트(soot) 침착 특성을 파악하기 위한 변수를 정의하고 한국형발사체 1단 엔진 시험결과에 적용하였다. 터빈 가스의 물성치를 이용한 노즐목의 분출 계수 정의를 하는 방법이 있고 터빈 노즐목 전단과 터빈 배기 노즐목 전단의 압력비와 온도비를 이용하여 분출계수를 정의할 수 있다. 한국형발사체 1단 엔진 시험 결과를 분석한 결과 터빈 노즐목의 분출계수(discharge coefficient)는 시간에 따라 감소하며 동일 엔진에 대한 누적 연소시간에 대해서도 감소하는 경향을 보인다. 누적 시험 초기에는 터빈 노즐목 감소가 그 다음 시험과 연계되지만 일정 시간 이후에는 일정 범위에서 등락을 거듭하는 듯한 특성을 보인다.

Study of Discharge in Point-Plane Air Interval Using Fuzzy Logic

  • The objective of this paper is to study the discharge phenomenon for a point-plane air interval using an original fuzzy logic system. Firstly, a physical model based on streamer theory with consideration of the space charge fields due to electrons and positive ions is proposed. To test this model we have calculated the breakdown threshold voltage for a point-plane air interval. The same model is used to determine the discharge steps for different configurations as an inference data base. Secondly, using results obtained by the numerical simulation of the previous model, we have introduced the fuzzy logic technique to predict the breakdown threshold voltage of the same configurations used in the numerical model and make estimation on the insulating state of the air interval. From the comparison of obtained results, we can conclude that they are in accordance with the experimental ones obtained for breakdown discharges in different point-plane air gaps collected from the literature. The proposed study using fuzzy logic technique shows a good performance in the analysis of different discharge steps of the air interval.

Efficient Simulation Method for Dielectric Barrier Discharge Load

  • The dielectric barrier discharge is recognized as one of the efficient methods of ultraviolet light generation and ozone production. As well, it is widely utilized for gaseous wastes neutralization and other technological processes in industry. This electrochemical reaction is electrically equivalent to a nonlinear capacitive load that represents some difficulties for designing the power supply. Therefore, a conventional power supply is designed for a drastically simplified model of the load and generally is not optimal. This paper presents a fast simulation approach for the nonlinear capacitive model representation of the dielectric barrier discharge load lamp. The main idea of the proposed method is to use analytical solutions of the differential state equations for the load and find the unknown initial conditions for the steady state by an optimization method. The derived expressions for the analytical solutions are rather complicated, however they greatly reduce the calculation time, which make sense when a deeper analysis is performed. This paper introduces the proposed simulation method and gives some examples of its application such as estimation of the load equivalent parameters and load matching conditions.

  • 최근 개발에 따른 토지이용 변화로 유역내 강우의 도달시간이 짧아지고, 집중호우가 빈번하게 발생함에 따라 유출량이 증가하여 많은 홍수피해가 일어나고 있다. 유출량 증가는 하천 수위를 상승시켜 하천주변에 막대한 재산피해를 주고 있으므로 유역의 정확한 유출량 산정이 선행되어야 한다. 산정된 유출량을 바탕으로 홍수재해 발생시 예상되는 홍수범람지역을 추정함으로써 홍수피해를 예방하고, 최소화시키는 것이 필요하다. 실무에서 범용적으로 사용하고 있는 HEC-HMS 모형을 이용하여 남대천 유역의 빈도별 확률강우량에 대한 유출량을 산정하였다. 또한 이로부터 모의된 첨두홍수량을 하도수리분석을 위한 경계조건으로 사용하여 남대천 하류구간의 홍수위를 HEC-RAS 모형에 의해 분석하였다.

제주도 남부지역의 유출 특성 (Characteristics of Runoff on Southern Area of Jeju Island, Korea)

  • For Kangjeong stream and Akgeun stream in the central part of the southern Jeju Island, on-site discharge estimation was carried out for approximately 10 months (July 2011-April 2012) twice a month on a regular basis by using ADCP (acoustic doppler current profiler) and long term rate of discharge was calculated by using SWAT (soil and water assessment tool) model. The discharge was $0.28-1.30m^3/sec$ for Kangjeong stream and $0.10-1.54m^3/sec$ for Akgeun stream. It showed the maximum in the summer and the minimum in the winter. As a result of parameter sensitivity analysis of SWAT model, CN (NRCS runoff curve number for moisture condition II), SOL_AWC (available water capacity of the soil layer), and ESCO (soil evaporation compensation factor) showed sensitive responses. By using the result, the model was corrected and the rate of discharge was calculated. As a result, the annual discharge rate was 27.12-31.86(%) at the Akgeun basin and 23.55-28.43(%) at the Kangjeong basin.

Estimating Groundwater Level Change Associated with River Stage and Pumping using Time Series Analyses at a Riverbank Filtration Site in Korea

  • At riverbank filtration sites, groundwater levels of alluvial aquifers near rivers are sensitive to variation in river discharge and pumping quantities. In this study, the groundwater level fluctuation, pumping quantity, and streamflow rate at the site of a riverbank filtration plant, which produces drinking water, in the lower Nakdong River basin, South Korea were interrelated. The relationship between drawdown ratio and river discharge was very strong with a correlation coefficient of 0.96, showing a greater drawdown ratio in the wet season than in the dry season. Autocorrelation and cross-correlation were carried out to characterize groundwater level fluctuation. Autoregressive model analysis of groundwater water level fluctuation led to efficient estimation and prediction of pumping for riverbank filtration in relation to river discharge rates, using simple inputs of river discharge and pumping data, without the need for numerical models that require data regarding several aquifer properties and hydrologic parameters.

제주도 주요하천의 기저유출량 산정 (Estimation of Baseflow Discharge through Several Streams in Jeju Island, Korea)

  • Groundwater in Jeju Island, flowing through main stream, is spring water from underground. To set a fixed quantity of groundwater flowing from surface in a hydrological view, 4 downstream (Woedo stream, Gangjung stream, Yeonwoe stream and Ongpo stream) were selected to calculate the characteristic of baseflow and the base-flow discharge through the data on tachometry. There were 11 to 14 level peak caused by runoff, mostly occurred during monsoon season. Also, duration of runoff was 15 to 25 hours, well reflecting the characteristic of inclined, short stream length in Jeju Island and pervious hydrogeographical feature. In case of Gangjung stream, Yeonwoe stream and Ongpo stream, variation of stream water level by baseflow rose above during summer, which was closely linked to the distribution of seasonal precipitation. From autumn to spring, water level fell below while that of Woedo stream remained the same all year round. Data on the water level observed in Woedo stream and Gangjung stream in every single minutes was applied to weir formula(equation of Oki and Govinda Rao) to calculate baseflow discharge. Also, using the data on current and water level calculated in Ongpo stream and Yeonwoe stream, water level-water flow rating was applied to assess base flow discharge.

  • This paper deals with the numerical estimation of the bubble behavior and the partial discharge (PD) initiation voltage on the basis of electric field calculation with the coaxial coil layer-to-cylindrical electrode system for the simulation of high temperature superconducting coils. The theoretical results of bubble behavior and the PD initiation voltages show fairly good agreement with the experimental results.

Bayesian과 Bootstrap 방법을 이용한 수위-유량 관계곡선의 불확실성 분석 (Uncertainty Analysis of Stage-Discharge Curve Using Bayesian and Bootstrap Methods)

  • 본 연구는 수위-유량 관계곡선을 이용한 하천 유량 산정방법의 불확실성을 감소시키는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 하천 유량 자료는 수문해석과 수자원 관리를 하는데 있어서 필수적으로 요구되는 자료이기 때문에 정량적으로 정확한 산정 방법을 고찰할 필요가 있다. 이를 위해 Bayesian 및 Bootstrap 방법을 이용한 수위-유량 관계식의 매개변수와 기존의 매개변수를 비교하였으며, 불확실성을 평가하기 위해서 표준오차법에 t-분포를 적용한 추정치 결과의 신뢰구간을 비교하였다. 그 결과, 본 연구를 통해 개발된 회귀분석에 의한 추정값은 약 1~5 %미만의 차이가 보이며, 각 지점에서 수위에 따라 기존보다 더 적용성이 우수한 결과를 보이는 부분도 존재함을 확인하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서 제시한 방법별로 하천의 특성 및 수위에 맞게 적용한다면 보다 더 신뢰성 있는 유량 자료를 확보할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.
