무수은 제논 EEFL의 전기적 특성 (Electric Properties of Mercury-free Xe EEFL)

  • This paper had mentioned about CCP light source application for increasing the efficiency of Xe lamp the mercury-free lamp. In order to increase the efficiency of Xe EEFL, we designed and manufactured the lamp used by mixture gas of Xe, Ne and He. Also, we have analyzed the electrical and optical properties with the firing voltage, sustain voltage, paschen's curve, wall charge, and capacitance. As a result, the firing voltage decreased by increasing the ration of mixture gas. and, It is owing to include the gas with high ionization energy. The firing voltage decreased in condition happening the penning effect, Because the ion of metastable state created from penning effect, Which can encourage the ionization phenomena. Also, the wavelength of 467.12 is increase. because of the energy transition in the wavelength of 147 nm. therefore, we can know about the affection of phosphor with UV emission properties. Through an experiment, Xe 100 % and Xe 75 % confirmed same spectrum properties by each mixture gas ratio. In the case of Xe 50 %, spectrum properties appeared Xe discharge and Ne-He discharge. That analyzed an electrical and optical properties. Therefore, confirmed that is excellent because properties of firing voltage, wall charge, capacitance in Xe 50 %, Ne : He = 9 : 1. We offered parameter in inverter manufacture and lamp manufacture by electrical and optical properties.

  • The power system and control system constantly reveals surge voltage such as switching surge of lighting devices and power conversion devices, operating and stops surge of rotating devices, charge & discharge surge, opening & closing surge of circuit breakers and the like. Such a surge voltages can cause damage or malfunction of the element such as CPU, Memory, semiconductor etc. In the industry, in order to protect the system from the surge voltage, a surge protector with low discharge starting voltage, fast response time, and low capacitance is required, and technical development research for that is ongoing. In this paper, in order to solve the problem of the existing GDT discharge tube not discharging from the transient voltage which is higher than the commercial voltage and lower than the discharge voltage of the discharge element, we have developed a discharge element having the control electrode & control circuit. The discharge element having the control electrode and the control circuit can control the discharge voltage according to the needs of the consumer and can satisfy the requirement of the discharge element and the technology of the surge protector downsizing technology and the surge protection technology. It is judged to be effective for development.

유기전해질에 따른 EDLC의 전기화학적 특성 (Electrochemical Characteristics of EDLC with various Organic Electrolytes)

  • 탄소계 전극을 사용하는 EDLC(Electric Double Layer Capacitor)용의 축전용량과 충방전속도는 전해질의 종류, 충방전 조건 그리고 탄소계 물질의 물리화학적 성질에 따라 크게 달라질 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 dip coating method에 의해 제조된 EDLC용 활성탄소 전극에서 유기 전해질의 종류를 달리하여 충방전 실험과 전기화학적인 실험을 시행하였다. 또한 충전전류밀도와 방전전류밀도의 변화에 따른 비축전 용량의 변화를 조사하였고, 최적 유기전해질의 조건에서 leakage current 특성, 자가방전 특성 그리고 시간전압곡선을 기존의 $1M-Et_4NBF_4/PC$와 비교하였다 활성탄, 소전극으로 비표면적이 $2000m^2/g$인 MSP-20을 사용하고 유기전해질로는 $1M-LiPF_6/PC-DEC(1:1)$를 사용한 EDLC에서 130 F/g 정도의 우수한 비축전 용량을 나타내었고 저항면에서도 가장 낮은 수치를 나타내었다 $1M-LiPF_6/PCDEC(1:1)$를 사용한 EDLC는 15분동안 0.0004A의 낮은 leakage current와 100시간 경과 후 0.8V의 우수한 자가 방전 특성 그리고 IR-drop이 적은 선형의 시간-전압곡선을 보여주었다.

나노탄소섬유/MnO2 복합전극의 초고용량 캐폐시터 특성 (Supercapacitive Properties of Carbon-Nano Fiber/MnO2 Composite Electrode)

  • 비정형 $MnO_2$의 초고용량 캐폐시턴스 특성을 향상시키기 위하여 망간산화물을 높은 전기전도를 갖는 나노탄소섬유(vapour-grown carbon nanofibers, VGCF)와 복합화하여 나노탄소섬유/망간 산화물(VGCF(40 wt%)/$MnO_2$) 복합 전극을 제조하여 cyclic voltammetry(CV), impedance spectroscopy 및 chronopotentiometric charge/discharge 기법을 사용하여 1.0M $Na_2SO_4$ 전해질에서 초고용량 캐폐시터 특성을 조사하였다. 40 wt% VGCF를 포함한 복합전극에서 $0.8mg/cm^2$ 망간산화물을 로딩한 $VGCF/MnO_2$ 복합전극은 주사속도 20 mV/s에서는 380 F/g, 500 mV/s에서는 230 F/g의 비용량 값을 나타냈다. 또한, $2.0mA/cm^2$의 일정전류로 충방전 실험을 수행한 결과 3,000회에서 97%의 초기용량을 유지하였다.

  • A self-discharge in multi-EEFLs and CCFLs has been found to provide a high luminance and efficiency. With a fast rising and falling times of $2{mu}s$, and the peak voltage over 1.6KV, the self-discharge occurs in EEFLs and CCFLs driven by a full bridge switching inverter. Particularly in CCFLs connected with a typical value of ballast capacitance, a self-discharge follows by the main discharge when the voltage falls to the ground.

  • Voltage transfer curves have been used for analyzing the micro-discharge characteristics of cells in ac-PDP. This paper deals with the effect of working gas species, pressure and frequency of applied voltage on the micro-discharge characteristics. Using the mixture gases of He+Xe or He+Ne+Xe, wall voltage steeply varied compared with only He gas, and also voltage margin increased. Discharge voltage and voltage margin increased with increasing Xe percentage, and also wall voltage more steeply varied. In addition, the variation of effective wall capacitance which is significantly dependent on the discharge strength is discussed.

  • In order to improve discharge characteristics in AC PDP, we suggest FDFA (Facing Discharge Front plate Address Electrode) structure. By adopting both long facing discharge electrodes and address electrodes in front plate, the FDFA structure make it possible to gain a high luminance, low power consumption, and a high luminous efficiency.

  • Spinel structured $LiMn_2O_4$ is more economic and environmental friendly to be used as commercial active material for secondary battery compared to Co-oxide material active material, but spinel structure of $LiMn_2O_4$ is unstable and its capacitance decreases with increase of cycle. Therefore, the purpose of our sturdy is to improve the stability of $LiMn_2O_4$ spinel structure and increase its capacitance by using substituents or dopants. $LiMn_2O_4$ powder was synthesized by charging substituents or dopants mole fractions, and temperatures. Crystal state, structure and specific surface area of the synthesized powder were measured and also characteried electrochemically by measuring its impedance, charge-discharge capacitance and etc.

Nanostructured Ni-Mn double hydroxide for high capacitance supercapacitor application

  • Recently, transition-metal-based hydroxide materials have attracted significant attention in various electrochemical applications owing to their low cost, high stability, and versatility in composition and morphology. Among these applications, transition-metal-based hydroxides have exhibited significant potential in supercapacitors owing to their multiple redox states that can considerably enhance the supercapacitance performance. In this study, nanostructured Ni-Mn double hydroxide is directly grown on a conductive substrate using an electrodeposition method. Ni-Mn double hydroxide exhibits excellent electrochemical charge-storage properties in a 1 M KOH electrolyte, such as a specific capacitance of 1364 Fg-1 at a current density of 1 mAcm-2 and a capacitance retention of 94% over 3000 charge-discharge cycles at a current density of 10 mAcm-2. The present work demonstrates a scalable, time-saving, and cost-effective approach for the preparation of Ni-Mn double hydroxide with potential application in high-charge-storage kinetics, which can also be extended for other transition-metal-based double hydroxides.

미세 방전을 이용한 3차원 미세 구조물 및 미세 공구 제작 (Fabrication of 3-D Micro Structure and Micro Tool Using MEDM)

  • 3-D micro structures and micro tools were fabricated using Micro Electrical Discharge Machining (MEDM). To make micro structures, micro electrical discharge milling process was applied. During micro electrical discharge milling, electrode (tool) worn in the both axial and radial direction. To compensate tool wear which has significant influence on machining accuracy, machining path overlapping was proposed. Machining characteristics of micro electrical discharge milling was investigated in considering of depth of cut and capacitance of discharge circuit. Micro complex shaped tools were also fabricated using REDM (reverse electrical discharge machining). Sacrificial electrodes were machined through electrical discharge milling process and were used as electrode to make micro tools. Using this process several micro tools shape of 'ㄷ', 'ㅁ' and 'o' were fabricated. With these complex shaped tools, micro machining was successfully applied repeatedly.
